We've now been here multiple times, solely out of convenience. I generally avoid this location, as the "make it make sense" factor doesn't apply here. Example: Today the B1G1 sign for drinks is huge and in your face as you walk in the door. Since nothing gets left out side at night anywhere in West Olympia, they clearly set this stand alone sign outside intentionally today. I let the cashier know I want to use the B1G1. She confirms that's an option and then asks which 2 drinks I'd like to order. I ask if she can please verify which drinks are included. She didn't have a clue (and had an annoyed and confused look like the last time we came) so she said she'd look on a paper in the back that she remembers seeing... and walks away. She comes back to say her manager said the deal has expired as of yesterday so it's no longer possible. So there is a large sign next to the door advertising the deal AND she already confirmed it was active and possible to use before walking away. I ask her to please make sure the manager understands they're still advertising it up front on a large sign and ask that she honor it. She walks away annoyed as usual (couple visits and it's her vibe with all customers) with an "I don't really know anything and don't like my job" attitude. She returns saying it's still not possible and shrugs her shoulders. I ask to please stop doing the back and forth and please have the manager speak to me directly. She says that's probably not possible, but ok fine she'll try. Manager comes over also annoyed. I note the sign and ask her directly. She says the only thing she can do is move the sign. Which they never actually did while we were there. I mention it'a false advertising and ask if there is any other type of compensation for the false advertising since she refuses to honor her sign -- that for the record has ZERO dates or expirations on it. She says she can comp a cookie. So... my kid enjoyed her cookie. Which on a 90 degree day isn't all that useful compared to the cold drink that was already agreed to by the cashier, was advertised, and should have been. PS The HP location usually has dark dragonfruit flavored liquid in this drink.... what is this nearly completely orange drink? The only actual thing I ordered and it doesn't seem quite right. This location also refuses to make avocado toast outside of morning hours. They claim it's a breakfast only item. Avocado on bread with some sprinkled seasoning. Hawk Prairies's location on the other hand is efficient with great customer service and they're even quick to tell you if there are any deals, or rewards attached to your account. Drive the extra distance and steer clear of this location. HP location serves avocado toast through out the entire day. DO NOT waste your time or money walking into this particular Panera... unless you want orders not made right and customer service with zero consideration for customers with false advertising. read more

Two stars for the shrinkflation and how the portions are smaller but the prices have skyrocketed. Tried the crème brûlée bit, which is literally the size of a small bite (maybe the size of a small meatball) and it was $1.99? Double ewe tee eff? If it weren't for the fact that Panera is actually a pray god third space, then I don't know why anyone would come here. At these price points, just get a better meal for the same price you would get at a sit down restaurant like Applebees across the street. read more

Great place for lunch, very friendly and helpful customer service folks working the counter. I love their Unlimited sip Club, I go in there often for drinks. Very clean and friendly restaurant, and the broccoli cheddar soup and steak sandwich with arugula have always been my favorite. They need to bring the steak sandwich back. read more

I stopped here for lunch with a friend today. We were a little skeptical given the rating on Yelp but the Google rating was higher so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in we immediately smelled what smelled like burnt gristle from a grill. Looking at the cooktop, it seems that's exactly what we were smelling. It desperately needs to be cleaned. We placed our orders at the kiosks and sat to wait. The kitchen staff were right in front of us and were talking loudly, they seemed young and were just chatting but it seemed like they got their jobs done so it didn't bother us. The food came out pretty quick. We got it to go so we didn't eat at a table but there were plenty of tables and they seemed clean. The bathroom was pretty small and the floors were sticky. It seemed clean until you walked around and felt your shoes sticking to the floor. It was also very tight and cramped, with only two stalls in the women's room. The food was good, they got everything right but forgot to include butter with our baguettes. Everything else was prepared properly and tasted good. Overall, we had a positive experience here and I'm glad to contribute to a higher rating for this Panera location. read more

The place was filthy. Employee swept the floor and left the pile in the middle of the floor. She didn't change her gloves and went back to making a sandwich. Manage didn't seem to care when we canceled our order. read more

I can't believe it. I just went to Panera and got a large iced tea a salad and a bowl of chili and it cost me $29. The salad had like three of cheese, a tiny bit of bacon and two tiny little ranch dressing stuck inside it. It was like the smallest dinner salad I ever saw the chili was good, but it felt like it was in the pot all day. read more

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted immediately and the workers were really pleasant. I ordered the pick two with the chipotle chicken avocado melt and broccoli cheddar soup with a bag of chips. I love the focaccia bread in the sandwich! Both were really good but I felt like it was on the pricier side for what you get. I don't think you can go wrong with Panera though, lots of choices and their pastries looked tasty! Wish I took a baked good to go. This is a great spot for a lunch that is quick and not too heavy. read more

This is place has by far the WORST customer service I have ever heard of, this place is discriminating if you are a person of color you will be racially profiled, my husband was there a bit earlier today 3/18/2026 and as he was getting some napkins a lady by the name of EDITH blatantly said loudly in front of others " oh my you are taking all my napkins are you taking them for home?!" My husband put the napkins back and told EDITH I don't need your napkins, then went to the counter to ask the lady, AMETHYST to ask who is the manager of this location,her response was " that's personal information" the incompetence of the employees is beyond me, This is absolutely poor customer service and nobody should ever be treated this way shame on you EDITH and AMETHYST you both need training on what good customer service ought to look like. read more

I wish I got a picture of my food. I got the French onion soup ( wry good!) and a Frontega half sandwich. My Friend got the Turkey sandwich and Turkey chili. The chili was hot and flavorful. My French onion was very tasty. The Frontega I added bacon and avocado which made it that much better. Definitely will go back. read more

We have visited this Panera several times and today may have been our last time I'm sorry to say. Few restaurants require you to pick up your order, bus your dishes when through eating, and heat your own order ( like soup) if it arrives cold. I was pointed in the general direction of a microwave. After several tries to heat our soup I asked a person cleaning a counter to show me the trick of using their microwave ( I have been using microwaves for 50 years, they're not new). We know how to do all of these things but do expect a little better service when paying. This was definitely a poor $32 experience. read more

Panera has really gone down hill. Ordered through door dash. Every time we do it takes so long for them to prepare a meal. Ridiculous. Ordered two items. My Asian salad was legit disgusting. The lettuce was lowest of qualities. Had three pieces of the bottom core of lettuce. THREE! Who eats that? $17 for that salad. I'm seriously probably not ordering ever again. They use to be so good and high quality ingredients. Sad. read more

Went into Panera bread with my family to eat stood in line for 10 minutes. The line didn't move. People behind us were talking noisy. I got irritated so we left without a thing. Staff was moving too slow. The line wouldn't move went across the street and had Vietnamese soup much better. End of story. read more

My dad and mom were huge fans of Panera. I ate there a few times with them and had pleasant experiences each time. You should understand the type of restaurant they are before going. It is a cafeteria style restaurant; you order from the listed menu on the "back-board" and/or you might find a printed version near the register. They have delicious food that is prepared for you which you fairly quickly and you move along the counter with your choices (drink, soup, sandwich, salad, chips, dessert, whatever you choose); pay at the register and go to a table. Staff will always help you if you ask or if they see or anticipate that there may be a need. They are wonderful about it! When you have gotten settled and commenced with your meal staff will keep an eye open for any needs that you might have including asking if they can refresh your beverage or they will ask if they can take anything away. So, you are attended to and don't feel like you're in a typical cafeteria, but more like a cozy spot with good quality food, many options, and pleasant staff. The decor and ambiance is also charming, not cold nor sterile. Each time I've been to Panera I've had a lovely experience. read more

We tend to forget this one is here and that it has a drive thru. One day out looking for something to eat we decided to stop by and give good 'ol Panera a try. I was never really a fan growing up but goodness, I get into my mid 30s and all the sudden half a sammie and soup or salad sounds like the jackpot. So far I'd say the green goddess caprese melt is my absolute favorite between the 3 toasted baguettes. Pepperoni is a close second. I like meat but let me tell you, to literally pick the caprese melt over the pepperoni or even the chicken one really says something. Service has been good any time we've gone. This has nothing to do with the location itself but the app is annoying to use. I received a GC and basically uploading it into the app if you plan to go in is pointless. I mean great for having it on there but they have no way of scanning to use it, they need the numbers. I'd rather just have the card to swipe and move on. All in all though, pleasantly surprised with the 3 times we've been here over the last couple weeks. read more

I love this Panera location and have excellent service there every time! Our cashier today was very thorough and took the time to explain the options for our meals (get a little smaller meal but save money on a duo, for example). They also made sure when we ordered the last kitchen sink cookie (our FAV!!) to wrap it up right away so we had the goods secured. General feedback (we weren't here for breakfast this day) PLEASE PLEASE serve your soufflés all day!! They're my FAVORITE ITEM. (Kitchen sink cookie is my favorite cookie - the soufflés are my go-to item here, but the time limit on them breaks my heart). read more

I'm going through the drive-through as I'm placing my order the guy who's taking the order keeps rushing me. The last question he asked was if I wanted bread chips or an apple and I didn't even have a chance to respond and he said I have your total at the window. I'm sorry but Customer Service is just going downhill and Panera. You need to train your employees a little bit better because that's just not right. I don't even want to give you guys my money now. read more

Food - 2 Star Normally decent. Watch my bagel sit on counter get Luke warm. Nobody orders a warmly toasted bagel. I prefer a fresh out the oven, hot bagel. Service - 2 Star Asked a manager for an additional Sour Cream Cheese to go with my bagel. She said no and to get back in line for a .50 cent condiment. What? Ambiance - 2.5 Star More tables in the lobby were dirty than clean. I will say the young lady working the counter was wonderful. read more

to start off, your bagels suck ass. You were out of normal bagels, so I settled for an everything bagel. AND YOU BURNT THE FUCKING BAGEL. YOU HAD ONE JOB, AND YOU MANAGED TO FUCK. IT. UP. I am beyond disappointed with this Panera. I ordered this morning because I have a dentists appointment, which causes me great anxiety, and we thought it would be a nice treat to start the day. I had a reward from my last order, because this store missed an item. This morning, my order was supposed to arrive at 6:20. Not only was it half an hour late, causing me to only have enough time to grab the bag and go, rather than enjoying before my appointment, it is yet again missing an item. The chocolate croissant, which was the item I was most looking forward to, is not in my bag. This is the second straight time this store has missed an item--and they have done it several times before that, in fact. I am not placing large orders, the items are straightforward, I don't understand why this keeps happening. I spent hard earned money thinking they would get this order right. They failed. read more

New to the area since July 21, sorry - late post! This Panera 99.9% of the time, is 10 stars!!! By far THE BEST Panera I've ever been to, and I've been going for 15+ years! One of the managers, Shelly is excellent! Very good customer service, she's always very accommodating and more than willing to fix anything that comes up. The drive thru, also, again, I'm not kidding when I say, 99.9% of the time, again, are the best!! Always so friendly, kind, genuine!! Overall quality and customer service. There's another manager who's also always nice!! Don't remember the name. Just overall - THIS Olympia Panera - Super friendly and fresh food and coffee. read more

I am pretty frustrated with the local management and food quality at this Panera location. I can't eat fresh cilantro and asked the it never be put on the Baja Mac and cheese ( I have my food ordered and delivered due to my busy work schedule). They have gotten the order wrong no matter how many times I ask them to fix it, when it is clearly put on the order, sometimes twice, ask the home office to adjust for the complaint. It got so bad that I finally just started ordering something else, feeling like I was fighting a losing battle. ( I am a really good tipper , always tip generously. The store is right around the corner of my office, walking distance actually and many of my coworkers and myself order multiple times per month.) Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I ordered the Autumn Squash soup and at the bottom of the cup, you guessed it ...cilantro. ( there is no cilantro in that dish). Yes , I tasted it ( I have the genetic code that makes it taste like dishsoap...check it out) Yes I wrote the home office and they have given me new coupons, but I am really concerned about using them. I cannot believe that the day to day management is so poor, so undertrained and so unwilling to provide customer service. I love the company mission but throwing away food is not a good use of my time or money. read more

Reading the other recent reviews, I am inclined to agree: this is the best Panera location I've been to yet! What stuck out to me the most was when, upon my ordering my mac and cheese in a bread bowl, the cashier double checked to make sure they were in stock. After bad experiences at other locations, I was really moved by this simple action. The wait for our food was relatively short, and every order came to the table exactly as we'd placed it. My mac and cheese was piping hot and well-flavored, the sauce just permeating into the bread bowl to soften its interior. It was quite delicious, though I've yet to discover how one ought to eat a bread bowl once the mac and cheese is gone. Are you really meant to pick it up and tear it apart as if you are a lion? Cause that is what I did. read more

My husband ordered an appetizer (Sirloin Diablo) for $27 and got a small bowl of steak tips submerged in a barely spicy (Diablo?) cajun cream sauce like a soup surrounded by some painfully plain, thin, unseasoned, boring grilled bread. It's not bad or very good by any means and just wasn't his thing, but charging almost $30 for that? At their prices and the way they are presented I was expecting a really satisfying dinner but walked away feeling like I would've been just as happy eating some standard fare at a local diner for half the cost.

Well I have enjoyed this location in the past I found recently that since it is so busy because it's next to the mall they always seemed rushed and busy. The last two times I have ordered they have completely messed up. Last week I ordered the salad that has chicken walnuts and dried apple slices (and more of course) and I specifically asked for no chicken and when I get back to my work Low in behold there is chicken and no dried apple slices!!! This normally wouldn't bother some people but since I am vegetarian I can't eat the salad because the chicken was everywhere and touched everything. When I tried to explain it to the staff they just rolled her eyes and looked at me like I'm stupid. If you read the slip in and make it right the first time I wouldn't have to complain!! Plus if you work in the food service industry you have to deal with people all the time that have allergies and specific ways they eat like a vegan or vegetarian or no gluten or no dairy. Have some respect and patience and PAY ATTENTION. Don't even get me started on how I ordered one breakfast sandwich and they gave me a totally different sandwich that was on the lunch menu.... read more

I was in your café on Sunday the 2nd of July and witnesessed what I can only call a sad display of management! I was sitting in the far corner of your café and couldn't help but hear a young female yell out loud to a gentleman by the name of Jackson to come here when he approached the dining room she asked him to do something couldn't hear what it was but he responded no, she then hollered out to someone behind the counter for a butter knife and the young lady behind the counter brought it to her she then to my surprise came around the corner by the soda machine and held it to Jackson's neck and said and I quote I could kill you shoving him back and as a customer exited the restroom he fell back into him no apologies from either worker just walked off at that point. I then walked up to the counter and asked who the manager was and was told it was the lady in the lobby she goes by chey. wow that blew my mind. poor poor management what Is she like 18 if that. I decided to take my daughter to get some soup since yesterday she just had her wisdom teeth pulled. We went to this one since it has a drive through and she wanted to get out the house with her swollen cheeks. I ordered her broccoli cheddar soup. I got the pick two: strawberry poppyseed salad and tomorrow soup. I just realized when we got home there was no chicken on my salad! We paid $17.38 (yes $1738) for 2 soups and salad. I live too far away to go back and get my chicken. Hopefully whoever is preparing the food pays better attention to what is being ordered. At 4:36, the family behind us received their full order, including a drink which I thought was odd given they'd ordered after us. Our order was ready a minute later, at 4:37. Unlike the family with the child, no one brought our bag to the table. It was left on the counter for us to retrieve. I had tipped 20% at the time of ordering. Yay me. $44.57 after tip and taxes for two whole sandwiches. No DoorDash or third-party orders came in while we waited, so it's possible a large order came in just before we arrived. It also seems likely the staff weren't actively monitoring the Square queue. Our order may have sat for nearly 24 minutes before anyone saw it. Food: The sandwiches are genuinely amazing. Five stars, no hesitation. To the owner: Sam, I've known of you since before you opened the store on Whitman and we used to go to the drive-thru near the car wash years ago. Your father, from whom I've bought two cars, recommended your shop years ago. I root for local businesses and I root for you. I'm sharing this not to pile on, but because I think these are solvable problems: better monitoring of online orders and a small gesture of bringing food to seated customers goes a long way toward keeping people coming back.
