This place should be called High Guys! Because the prices are high and you have to be high to enjoy their flavorless ground beef and soggy fries. I dumped my fries out and they came out in the shape of the cup LMAO! No, seriously! They were that mushy and greasy! My burger was, meh, bland expect for the flavor of the condiments. Good burgers made how you want them, LARGE portions of fries and the new-style Coke machines that mix flavors. They are VERY proud of their burgers ($$$) which keeps me away from being a regular customer. I was really looking forward to trying this place, but I ended up being very disappointed. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions. It came without the bacon or the grilled onions. I like a good cheeseburger, so I didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back. Unfortunately, it wasn't great. It didn't have much taste to it at all. My kids thought it was almost as good as the place with the Golden Arches. The fries were good and the cashier was friendly. This five guys is not the best burger joint I have frequented, nor is it the best five guys. While the staff is friendly and the food decent, there is a lack of care that one would expect from a McDonald's or other cheaper fast food restaurant that you usually don't see with a somewhat nicer establishment like this one. The level of cleanliness though, is why I gave it three stars. When the front of the restaurant looks dirtier than behind the counter, there is a lack of effort at play that I can't get on board with. While I don't expect the floor and the tables in any restaurant to be completely clean or free of debris, there is a limit to how dirty a place can be before I wont want to sit in the dreck to eat my food. Not to mention the implication that if the lobby is that dirty, who knows what the freezer or back room is like. Sadly, that has been my feeling every time I have visited this Five Guys, each time hoping that it was the time of day, or day of the week but after my fourth visit I can say this place just isn't that clean. If they worked on that and actually getting the right condiments and veggies on the burgers I ordered, I would be inclined to rate then a bit higher, but for now, they are just a bit below average, almost a 2 star but not quite. read more

My husband and I visited Five Guys for the first time this afternoon - what a complete waste of time and money. I have heard many good reviews about Five Guys, and we really wanted to know what the the hype was all about. The cashier was very nice - she explained the ordering process to us, as we had never visited before. I ordered the "Little Bacon Cheeseburger", and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger with what they call "everything" on it. We shared the medium order of fries, and a large drink - it came to $20.97. Looking back, I would have rather just wadded up $21 and set it on fire. Our fries were floppy, and unsalted. Not hot, not cold - tepid, and floppy. There were, perhaps, four crispy fries in the entire order (which, admittedly, was very large). My husband's burger was enormous - but was so soggy that he couldn't even pick it up to eat it. He ended up taking the tomatoes and other toppings off just to finish it. On the flip-side, my burger was a contender for the driest piece of beef in history. It was so dry and chewy that I stopped eating about 1/3 of the way through, because it was nearly indigestible. That 1/3 is still sitting in my stomach like a rock, nearly 2 hours later. I brought it home because wasting that much money makes me sick, but honestly, I doubt I will finish it. Until I read reviews on Yelp, I had no idea there were peanuts. I have no idea where they are located or how you get them. The long & short of it is that it's absolutely overrated. The dining area is covered in self-promoting propaganda, some of it so out-dated that it is really not relevant anymore. So... The Washington Post said that you were a great bargain in the year 2000? Well, that was 13 years and 3,000 miles ago. The bottom line is that if you are anywhere near this area, Burger Express in Federal Way is the BEST burger deal around. Plus, you can get a shake and crispy fries or onion rings... If you're around Olympia, go for Norma's Burgers in Lacey. Now, those places put out food of quality worth over $20. Everyone kept telling us that Five Guys had that BEST burgers and fries. So one day we decided to try them since we were in the area. We ordered three burgers, three fries, and three drinks. The guy told us that their order of fries are HUGE and that one order can feed at least three people with left overs. Okay, so we ordered two instead of three. Burger was bland. No taste in the beef. Two of us added salt and pepper and when doing so, we noticed that the patty was a lot smaller than the bun. It was a good thing that we got the burgers with double patties, because we overlapped them so we didn't end up with three bites of just bread. Fries are gone...we order one more. I liked the fries because I like soggy fries. The guys thought they were just "okay". We ordered one more fries and the boys ordered another burger each since they weren't filled. O....M...G....we could have eaten a prime rib at Outback or all you can eat prime rib at the casino for the price of our meal that day! Next time I think we'll just keep going down the road to the casino buffet! read more

This place was awesome when it first came to town but their standards have slipped. We didn't get what we ordered, no big deal. I found a hair in my burger. Okay, I'll let that slide? I then found a hair in my fries. That's when I lost my appetite. The hats aren't working if your staff members keep taking them off and on while cooking. Try hairnets maybe? Like others on here, I think it's WAY over priced. The burgers could almost pass for home made. My problem was having to wait an additional 10 minutes for my shake and I kind of like something to drink with my meal. Most likely will not return. I'll use the $35 I spent on 3 burgers, 1 fry, and 2 shakes on buying the ingredients at the store and be able to make burgers for the entire family, the neighborhood and everyone else. read more

Holy French fries!! These guys are not foolin' around with their fry portions, and they are good! Reminds me of In N Out, but better. I found out you can even order online and walk right in to pick it up instead of waiting. Definitely better than any other fast food burger in Puyallup. Was a good place to eat but things changed. Single burger $5.29 its OK fries are not what they used to be when they first opened. Large fry $5.59 u used to get a half a bag no u get just the cup and a few extra. Stingy mofo's. Don't order the toasted cheese for $4.29 u get 2 pieces of cheese between a flattened bun total BS. Your best bet is Red robin tavern burger double patty and unlimited fries for 6.99. read more

Tasty burgers perfectly prepared. Great service. For an inexpensive fast food style burger joint, I think this is as good as it gets. Don't sweat the line, it moves really fast. Love the 15+ mix & match options for the burger (grilled onion and shrooms). Better than Dicks, Herfy's and all the typical national chains. If there fries were crispy, then I'd give them 5 stars. The burgers are really good, they are bigger than average (and more expensive) and you can get a large variety of toppings. The fries are okay I have had them and been unimpressed and didn't eat more than a few and other times they are just perfect. Other commenters posted about the music being too loud, I didn't get that here. My husband and our friends and I held a conversation the entire time we were in there with no problems. It can really be a pain to find somewhere to sit, unless you go at non-peak hours (8 pm seemed to work for sort of dinner time). Peanuts are ALL OVER so if you're allergic, beware. The only self serve condiment is ketchup, but they will give you anything from mayo to steak sauce from behind the counter. read more

All toppings are free but if your planning on over loading with toppings don't do it. Burger is too small to hold all your ideas for toppings. 3-4 toppings Max and you will have a tasty burger. Once again Five Guys has done it again. I ordered online, which was super easy and user friendly. I came in right before close. I still got fresh fries and the most moist and juicy burger. Even better than before. The staff seemed to be in a hurry to close but they were still incredibly friendly and courteous. My biggest pet peeve is a place that sells the stale leftovers of the day with a just as crappy attitude but this place made it worth the drive. Next to In'n Out...the best darn burger you can find...no freezer in the joint, which tells you everything you need to know about the freshness...the fries were a potato 5 minutes ago...what more could you ask for? Not sure if I caught them on an off day or what, but my burger was cooked to hell and hardly seasoned. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, bunless. There was only one slice of burned bacon and it came lettuce wrapped which confused me considered he asked if I wanted it wrapped or in a bowl and I said bowl. The only thing saving it was the grilled onions were at least cooked really well. Also, when I ordered and asked for bunless; he looked insanely annoyed and asked if it was because of an allergy or just preference. I've been to several Five Guys in 3 different states and have never been asked this so I thought it was weird and I didn't see why that mattered. I'm on Atkins right now so it was technically preference which he shouted to the back cooks. read more

Went there for very first time today. Glad I went, great food and very fresh. Full of flavor and juicy. Yes it's a little on the greasy side, but hey it's a burger place. If you are not into eating mounds of food, I would recommend ordering the small version of the burgers. They are decent size and so are the regular size fries. Service was friendly and very fast. The place was packed and I got my food in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The "all you can eat" free peanuts in the shell help pass the time while you are waiting and it's a fun feature. Good music which does play a little loud, but not obnoxious. Only thing I would do different next time is actually eat there for freshest and warmest food experience. I took my food to go and by the time I got home and served it had cooled. I'm a new fan and would recommend to anyone who enjoys a gourmet burger with fresh cut fries, a cold pop and some rock-n-roll playing in the background. read more

Have been here twice since they opened and have been satisfied both times. The service is fast and the staff are friendly and the place is clean. The burgers remind me of a good homemade burger that you'd grill in the summer. They have a good selection of toppings that are fresh and crisp. They are very generous with their fries that a natural cut and are not greasy. My husband and I shared a regular order and that was plenty for two! True the burgers are a little more expensive but the quality of meat is better (no fillers) and you definitely leave there feeling full and satisfied. read more

Only been to 2 Five Guys. Bellevue had great fries, clean and up beat staff so when craving some fries we went to our local Puyallup restaurant. We won't go back! The fries were undercooked and had no seasonings not wven salt. I don't understand why anyone would throw peanut shells on the floor and not have something to put them in. What a trashy place. I am a former In-N-Out Burger employee from the mid seventies. This place is better than McDonald's, Burger King, Jack in the Box, & the other large corporation burgers. It doesn't even come close to the In-N-Out Burger. There fries are made from fresh potatoes which is a big plus. When they cook a cheese burger they need to put the cheese on the meat patty while it is cooking to melt the cheese. That makes for a better tasting burger. Putting on the cheese after the meat is cooked the cheese is never fully melted. Also I find the bun to be on the soggy side due to fully wrapping the burger in that foil type wrap. read more

The burgers and fries are always made fresh. Service there is always very quick especially if you order before you get there. It's not oh so amazing burgers but theyre really good considering this is a fast food joint. They give you tons of fries so I always get the little fries and little burger. You definitely get your money's worth here. There was one time when they had accidentally messed up on my order and when I gave feedback the manager offered me a free meal next time I went there.
