Our order was marked completed when we walked in, probably because it was past the promised time, and the staff wasn't sure why but assured us that our order was still in the works. I felt super bad for them, they had 4 people to take orders, answer questions, and also cook /prep. While my order took about 40 minutes to prepare, it wasn't as bad as some others. When my order finally came, it was correct, which I was surprised about. Huge props to the staff working tonight at this location. They called in reinforcements, which brought them to a total of 8 members who jumped in to try to bring the line down and you could see the line disappear pretty quickly. Many customers left angry and demanded refunds before they had a full kitchen, but the staff kept things professional and did what they could. I felt really bad that their scheduling/staffing seemed to have taken the worse hit, as if they didn't realize how well the promo would be and how much strain it put on them. The 4 stars is because of the poor staffing for the night. Overall, still good service and they still thanked every customer that came in. The restaurant was filthy. Tables weren't cleaned off, there was trash on the floor that customers had dropped under the tables. The outdoor patio was equally gross, with trash embedded in the weeds that made up the curb. And the burger I ordered literally made me sick. Where is the pride in doing a good job regardless of what you're paid??? You know the deal when you hire on at a place like that. These aren't high paying jobs. The entire crew was in the kitchen and there were only 3 tables utilized including the one my friend and I were at. Not busy. So, I couldn't understand why all the employees were in the kitchen. Something feral deep within me craves Five Guys like no other, so I come here to treat myself to a guilty pleasure, although there's nothing to feel guilty about loving a classic burger. I find this location to be pretty hit or miss. They're always quick with their customer service, but it's little things like cheese not being melted or fries being a little soggier than usual. I still devour it though, since there's something about the way everything meshes together so well, and the softness of their buns that keeps me coming back for more! read more

I called them to complain and I talked to both a kid who answered and the manager and by the response it sounded like it was an everyday occurrence because they never apologized but rather responded with "you need to bring the in the burger in order to get a refund or to make you a replacement". When I walked into the store I placed the burger on the counter and unwrapped to show them the latex tip of the glove which he didn't even inspect ! I went to 5 Guys with my co-worker. i haven't been to one in years. I order a Cheeseburger, little fries, regular drink. Total was $19.02. What? I was in sticker shock! The prices are posted - but when it hits you altogether - $19.02 for a lunch burger? The staff was indifferent and not that friendly. The fries were half crisp and half floppy, like 2 different batches. $5.29 for a small fries, that was meh, seems high. The burger was good, I enjoyed it. I didn't know that unless you order the "small burger" you get 2 patties. I didn't see that on the menu. Next time - won't be soon - I would skip the fries altogether . If you're gonna raise prices on everything, you better have your act together. Otherwise, we look elsewhere and/or we cook at home more often. This used to be my favorite go to place for a good big burger, and I like the fries, which my wife loves (now, loved). The fries would be the only thing to talk my wife into going to this place. But last week we went for the first time in a few months, and they seem to be going downhill - big time! The fries seem to have been made from the smallest potatoes or just potatoes with extra skin because these fries had a ton of skin, very little potato, and a ton - a ton of salt. And I like Salt, but this was too much. As I stated above, we had not been there in a while, but we're still surprised and dismayed, because they had always been good and edible. Because we can't count on the fries, though, I won't be able to convince my wife to go back to try another burger. Speaking of the burger, mine was good like usual, but it was just under $11! I forgot to mention that I got the regular plain hamburger with nothing on it! So, in light of their very high prices for fast food (with a wait), it got me thinking that I can make a lot of really good burgers at home with the most expensive beef for less than $11. We frequent a lot of five guys locations here in salt lake county. We also order around the same thing each time so i we have grown accustomed to a certain five guys standard. Unfortunately this is one of the worst five guys locations I've been to, we ordered for pick up when I brought the food home my bun was inedible soggy to the point where it was falling apart on tedged when I unwrapped it (luckily I had some hotdog buns so I'm using that as a top bun) most upsetting of all is the absolute lack of fries we received we always go to five guys and get large fries because we love all the extra fries at the bottom I'm not sure if it was just tonight or if the regularly only fill them barely to the top at this location. A real bummer I will definitely be driving the extra couple miles to literally any other location then this one read more

I cannot understand why 5 Guys gets only 3.5 stars on Yelp?? This is one of the best burger places anywhere. I have come here for 5 years and the experience has never been subpar. The staff is super friendly and responsive, the food quality always fantastic, and service is fast. I usually get the standard cheeseburger, which is two patties and very filling. The fries are also outstanding and you can't go here without making sure you have the fries as well. There is a Wendy's and McDonalds nearby but why would you go there when 5Guys is down the road?? read more

I only ever order delivery, so I cannot speak to the atmosphere, cleanliness, staff, etc. of the restaurant, but the food is great! Their fries are my favorite. When I order delivery they always give me more than enough fry sauce, which I appreciate. I love that you can add so many toppings without paying extra, so every time I order I get something a little bit different. My only disappointment is that when I ordered thru UberEats, I ordered a lemonade which was $3 - I felt that to be expensive for a soft drink but I wanted to spend a certain amount so I could use a promotion. Turns out, it's actually a plastic bottle of Simply Lemonade. I love Simply Lemonade, but it's only 11oz. Upcharge much? The 1.75 liter isn't even $3! So next time, I won't get the drink, or at least I will get a soft drink from the machine. read more

Was told by Ethan H, the cashier helping me that he had to make two patties to replace my order and I would have to place a whole new order and pay again if I wanted to do that. So I just paid again because they were not willing to just give me a damn cheeseburger. That being said, I don't even care about the money, but the staff was rude over such a little thing, needless this was a horrible experience! I had a delicious meal while visiting the location on 3300 South, next to the REI on the East side of the Salt Lake Valley. To be honest, I have never once been disappointed by the food at any Five Guys location. Their burgers are one of my top rated, favorite tasting sandwiches I've had anywhere, including some high end, well-know , more expensive steak houses here in Salt Lake City as well as across the nation. Oh, and I really enjoy the copious amount of deliciously seasoned Cajun Fries, and the ability to fill up my desired amount of little"to-go" containers which I've filled with a very tasty Fry Sauce (which is a rare commodity these days because the food-service industry as a whole feels like they shouldn't spend even a small portion of the company's "hard earned" revenue to provide something they consider "extra" in order to increase their customer base's overall satisfaction. Ordered online to pick up in store. Staff was courteous, but completely screwed up both burger orders, making the burgers inedible due to toppings that someone else had ordered. I should have opened the burgers before I left the store, but didn't because the receipt stapled to the bag had my order correct. When I got home, I called and they offered to remake the burgers, but couldn't have them delivered. I was told to go online to order the burgers with a delivery option, but the website was unable to process my delivery order multiple times. Guess I won't be ordering FiveGuys anytime soon. I love Five Guys. Plain and simple. From start to finish, going to Five Guys is something I love every single time. Let's start at the very beginning. You walk in the door, and are greeted loudly and with a smile by the people behind the counter. Like they're actually happy to see you there. Cool. Okay, so then, you walk up to the counter to order, and are face to face with the menu. What is on this menu? Burgers and fries. I think they have a hot dog and a grilled cheese too, but I don't know why. Now, by "burgers" I mean just that. They have small and regular (relative terms to be sure, as the small is a single patty and large is double), with or without bacon, with or without cheese. That's it. No grilled chicken burger, no fish burger, no teriyaki burger, no deep fried squid burger, no salads, no baked potato, no pie, no other stupid crap like that. Just burgers. But then I look closer and see "Oh, I can add a ton of stuff to it for free!". Stuff like A-1, grilled onions, mushrooms, pickles, jalapenos and more (including ketchup, mayo and mustard of course). And that, in my opinion, is how it should be. If you don't ask for it on your burger, they don't put it on your burger. Why? Because it's YOUR burger. Awesome. Burger ordered, now what? FRIES! Thick, fresh, delicious fries. Regular or cajun... Helpful hint, if it's just you or one other person, just get the regular size fries, not the large. They load them up on you. I like the cajun fries (and this is the ONLY place I've ever said that about). Sweet, fries ordered. Now here's the tricky part. It will NOT be in your hand in 2-3 minutes. It just won't. It'll take about 10 minutes probably. And it's not because they are slow. It is because they are FRESH! I know, in this McWorld we live in where everything is microwaved soy crap, it's hard to believe. But it's true. The fries are cut fresh, you can even see on their sign where the potatoes are from that week. The burger patties are made fresh every morning. The buns are made fresh every day. FRESH! And this is exactly why they are now the second largest burger chain in the world. Not because of advertising, not gimmicks, not mascots. Just damn fine burgers and fries, that taste so awesome you will tell others about them. Side note: Another thing I love about Five Guys is just what I mentioned. Little to no advertising, aside from word of mouth. Brilliant move. Spend a little more to make a great product, and the advertising just happens, instead of skimping and serving bad product but spending billions on advertising. Kudos, Five Guys. Okay, so it's going to take a little while to get my food, what do I do? Well, I'll grab a soda (they have freakin' Mello Yello there too!) and some peanuts. Wait... WHAT!? Yep, peanuts, free, all you want while you wait. Alright! Let's sit back and jam out to the classic rock / oldies station. Is that Roy Orbison I hear!? You bet it is! By the way grab some ketchup or Fry Sauce (in Utah) or even some malt vinegar for your fries while you are at it too. Food is here! Well, okay, they call your number and you go to get it, and they ask if they can get you anything else. Should be standard in all places, but it's not. So, it's time to eat. Now, I won't even begin to try to describe the burger and all of its glory, you will just have to see for yourself. However, there are a couple things I would like to see slightly different. Possibly turn the music down just a little. It's kind of loud even if it is awesome. And malts. My god, if anything would just perfect and take the experience up to a whole new level, it would be a malt. That's it. Change anything else and I would probably cry. And for those people who complain about how unhealthy it is, I remind you of this: They are called 'Five Guys Burgers and Fries', not 'Five Guys Salads and Bulgar Wheat'. They also do not even attempt, in the most remote fashion imaginable, to be pretend to be anything close to healthy. They flat out admit they aren't. If you eat there every day, yes, you WILL become a fatass unless you spend the other 23 hours of that day working out, and you have no one to blame but yourself for being too stupid to figure that out. If you're going to be introduced to the wonder that is Five Guys, as much as it pains me to say, this is not the right location. Service was friendly, but the kitchen staff is in need of more training or an attention span. My burger was overcooked, which is very rare for this chain and it was so dry I had to re-sauce it myself, which is nearly unheard of for me. Usually, the thing is dripping everywhere. Bacon was ok, but also pretty dried out and there were stray vegetables in there, along with an omission of what I actually ordered, so staff here really needs to pay a lot more attention. If you want a burger my way, choose either single or double patty, add cheese if you want it, bacon, mushrooms, jalapenos, A-1 sauce and get thee face full. Sometimes I will also add green peppers and less frequently a little splash of lettuce, but that's more of an option; the other toppings are standard. This place is very, very clean, which has that going for it and indeed, the staff did spend quite a bit of time cleaning stuff, which doesn't excuse their poor execution, though. My son wound up getting a hot dog and I had a bit of it, which is the first time I've tried a non-burger meat item there. I can sum up that experience in one word: don't. This thing is Oscar Mayer territory, so unless you're a fan of that flavor and sort of "cheap" taste aspect, skip the dogs entirely. In a way, this is good, as I've recently noticed how close this is to where I live, which would ordinarily be a somewhat dangerous thing...given how awful it is, though, the danger is largely alleviated. They'll have more chances, I'm sure, but not many more. If tonight was my first time at this chain, I'm not sure if I would ever bother again and I definitely would not be using it as my sort of burger litmus test. read more
