The flavor is classic but bold, exactly what you want from a smash burger. Only downside? The price could be a touch lower for what you get. Store Location is great and has nice burger joint vibe, but the ordering process was rough--stood in line, only to be told at the counter to use a kiosk I didn't notice at first. They have gone cashless to "reduce the burden" of their employees. This is a burden on the rest of us who don't want to have merchant fees paying banks to exchange goods. Short sighted and lame choice from management. This location is regularly greasy and dirty. The restaurant is empty and most of the tables are currently dirty. Tony burgers is yummy but kinda too greasy for me. My family loves it but I can't eat very much of their food without feeling sick. This is by far the worst Tonyburger's location around UT. I have never had a pleasant experience with them, but I don't want to drive an hour round trip to another one. But this was the last straw. Ordered a Double T with soft egg and a Single T with soft egg. I got massively overcooked egg on both; on one of them was half missing. One of the burgers was supposed to have jalapeño, garlic aioli and chipotle mayo. Got no jalapeño, and barbecue sauce. They did in fact, put the peppers on - on the wrong sandwich! This was for my wife, who is currently hooked up to her dialysis machine and can't have too much heat because it raises her blood pressure, so thank you so much for that. Had to go straight in the garbage. Why didn't I eat it? Because I'm allergic to raw onion, which was on hers. Not even worth it for the refund. Keep it. It's the last cent this store is ever getting from me, and possibly the chain in general. Go to one of the downtown locations. This location does not care about customers. Whoever is running the joint needs replaced, this has been a year of consistently undesirable service. It's a complete joke here. read more

I've been here a few times and it's usually been the same. Their burgers, cheese curds, and even the kid's menu chicken nuggets are great and I absolutely recommend them. My problem is they always forget something when I order online, and I don't notice until I get home with my order. Every time I've ordered from the kid's menu, they forget the drinks. This place is great! I went here with my brother and got the small tony double with roasted onions and tony sauce. It was a little burnt around the edges of the burger, but nothing too bad ( this is the reason for the four stars). The wait was not too bad, but I think they could use another cash register because after we ordered there was a huge line and the poor worker seemed really stressed. We got our shakes first, which were amazing! My brother got the raspberry shake and it was a little bitter, but after mixing it a bit it was delicious. Updated Review (April 5, 2018): So disappointed on this visit to Tonyburgers. So very disappointed. In the past year it seems like the cleanliness of the place is hitting rock bottom (tonight my daughter nearly fell on the exceptionally slick, greasy floors and the condiment counter has not be wiped down in who knows how long--disgusting). Meanwhile, the prices seem to be getting higher and higher. $12 for a Big Tony burger combo, and on this visit all of the salads have super-professional Post It notes over the old prices (looks like everything went up at least a dollar. In total, we paid $46 for five burgers, three fries and one soda (and four waters). The service is also extremely slow now--we waited nearly 20 minutes for our 5 burgers and fries (and we were the just second family in line, so they were NOT that busy). Three of our burgers arrived charred and dry, while the other two were pink. Also, although we paid .79 for a piece of cheese, it was missing from my daughter's burger--I guess you don't always get what you pay for (so I immediately had that situation remedied, unfortunately without any apology from the staff). It is really too bad that Tonyburgers has gone so far down hill. This was one place that my wife and I could previously take all three kids for unanimously rave dinner reviews, but not anymore. Even though it is more expensive than Apollo Burger, we previously didn't mind the price because the place was clean and the food used to be delicious. A little advice to Tonyburgers--your initial fan fare wanes over time. If the cleanliness of your store tanks, and the service levels plummet, and the food quality drops, you probably won't be open for very long. There are a growing number of good places to eat in Holladay and, presently, in my opinion Tonyburgers is not one of them. My Original Review (2017): Good fries, great burgers and awesome shakes! There isn't anything out-of-the-ordinary spectacular about the burgers--they just make them the right way. This is your spot for dependably tasty, sloppy comfort food. Of course, Tony's offers up a heaping load of choices with which to top your burger, and for my money you cannot go wrong adding the fried egg and bacon to your burger, with a healthy dab of Tony's sauce. The fries are upper-middle of the pack, but still a nice compliment to the sandwich. But mark my words--get a cookies and cream shake. They are rich, creamy and delicious! Stopped by here to grab some burgers around 7:30 on Friday night. The positive things about this place: the burgers and fries are good, simple, and classic. You can order their special burger options or build your own burger. I opted to build my own! There's a TON of seating here too. It's a great fast casual place to get a good burger. What needed to be improved upon during our recent experience here: We ordered take out and took our burgers and fries to go. When we got home, we opened the bag and realized that the burger I ordered didn't have a patty. We drove all the way back to the restaurant and let the staff know what happened. The cashier was very apologetic and offered to refund the order and asked if we wanted a new one made. I said yes to both the refund and wanting to have another made, and he called over the manager to refund the order. We waited for quite a while for the burger to be remade, and noticed that people who had ordered after us were getting their food. We went up to the register to ask about the burger, and there seemed to be quite a miscommunication between the kitchen staff, manager, and cashier. No one had remade the burger, and the manager said that he thought we had just wanted a refund, even though we specifically requested another burger and had been sitting in the restaurant waiting for quite some time. The cashier came over to our table and apologized profusely and offered us complimentary items from the menu such as a shake or drink, which was very sweet. Our burger was eventually remade and we took it home, and the staff left a free burger coupon in our bag which we appreciated. We'll give this place another shot, because we enjoy it, they have good burgers and fries, and it's close by, but this was a very frustrating experience on Friday night. read more

Okay, this is a hidden gem. Seriously though, everything about this place is top notch. I think my favorite part about Tonyburgers is, every time I go, I can change up my burger just a little (add bacon, pepper jack cheese or swiss, white ranch AND tony sauce, etc) and my tastebuds experience something different every time. I love it. Let me just shoot you my order if you need a little assistance, feel free to change it and make it your own though #America. Small Tony burger (it's a great size, 1/4 lb), pepper jack cheese and bacon (trust me, it's worth the extra couple bucks), lettuce, pickles, tomato, tony sauce. If you're with another person, SHARE a large fry and dip it in the hickory bbq fry sauce (so incredibly delicious, I practically drink that stuff). Be prepared to wait a little longer than you'd wish. But I get it, everything is made to order so just be patient and happy and order 10 minutes before you know you'll get too hangry so the people around you will still have a good experience. Tips and Tricks: * Don't go right at lunch time, you'll run into the school kids and other workers on their lunch break. You will wait a long time if you make that mistake. Best time to go is between 1:30 and 2. Just a nice late lunch. * I can't say it enough: GET THE HICKORY BBQ FRY SAUCE. You will not be disappointed. * I still have yet to try their shakes, but they look large and delicious, if you get the chance to do so before me, let me know what you think. * Parking is a little tricky, check out the underground lot when you enter on the south side, rather than the lot on top.
