I came out on my lunch break and pulled up to Five Guys. It has been a minute since I had a burger and fries from Five Guys. The prices are a bit pricey. Five Guys doesn't have a value deal. Each menu item is sold separately. Nice clean location with an outside patio. I ordered the wrap cheeseburger with fries. The food was freshly cooked well done with hot crispy fries. The service could have been a little better.

The friend of apparently all the employees just hung out and talked and ate at the counter with no mask, leaning over the glass. For the whole 20 minutes we were here. Like don't stand right by the food and where everybody else has to pick up their orders. If you don't want to wear a mask, don't be in my business. And I don't know why none of the masked employees said anything.

I come here once maybe every 6 weeks with my lunch crew. The staff is always fantastic and we never have a problem finding seating. We enjoy the complimentary peanuts. :) Prices are high, way high, but the burgers are good, way good. On my last trip I got a burger (which is 2 patties) with cheese, mushrooms and mayo. A winning combo for me. Soggy and greasy, it's so tasty but I can feel everything clogging up from the grease inside of me. Yum and Eek! I've had the hot dog which was just okay. The fries, also, are just okay but they give you so many! It fills up about half of a brown paper bags for the smaller size. I never dare have gotten the bigger size. All in all, I like Five Guys. Meatheads is better then Five Guys in my opinion though. But I will definitely continue my bimonthly visits.

I recently started a hunt for the best of the best burgers out there. So many people have told me that 5 Guys is the best fast food chain out there so I knew I had to finally try it. Burgerwise - Five Guys is pretty dang good. I went for the bunless option (any burger can be made into a salad or wrapped in lettuce) but I also took a bite of my husband's burger that had a bun. I like that you can pick whatever toppings you want, so you can go as traditional or wild as you want. Both ways that I tried it, I would say the burger was a 4.5 star. The meat was extremely flavorful, juicy and fresh. It was the only fast food burger that I've loved as much as In-n-Out. The fries were hand cut and just as good as the burger. This place isn't cheap though. For two burgers and a fry to split, it cost $20. The reason for not giving higher stars overall is because I thought the staff was less than accommodating here. I tried to ask a few questions since I was a newbie and I was met with a bit of an attitude and 0 helpfulness.

They take too long to make a hotdog. And they put ketchup on it. No way. $15 for a hotdog and shake. Thumbs down

The food definitely stands out in terms of quality. It is most comparable to places like Canes , with the chicken/fries/toast combo. However they excel in comparison with their dirty sodas and other food offerings. The fries, cheese curds and Texas toast are all delicious snack options. Everything comes out hot and cooked to order. The portions are a good size and it all tastes fresh. The dirty sodas were a fun thing to try out. During my visits, I tried the "Toasty Marshmallow" (Mr Pibb) and the "Float On" (Barqs) . Both are sweet combinations and are fun treats. There's a lot here that makes them stand out from most fast-casual places and overall provide a quality dining experience.

Shops that offer chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fries, and similar options have become very commonplace in this area of the Chicago suburbs. Even without considering the quality of food, there's a few features that make this a hit for me. The dining room is fun, yet appropriate. The value here is great both in terms of quantity of food, and overall pricing. The ice cream that changes monthly provides a fun way to customize a periodic visit. While I'm not crazy about the texture and flavor of it, it's still an enjoyable dessert -- particularly on a warm day. The sides such as fried cheese curds and spicy fries are different. The dirty soda options also provide a ton of possibilities for social media posts and different flavor options on each visit. Service is not too slow for how busy the restaurant is, and parking isn't too difficult. The food is very good here, both in terms of flavor and texture -- and generously portioned as well. The tenders rival the best versions I've had from other dedicated chicken restaurants. Crispy with tender chicken that stands well on its own without sauces, but at the same time has a heightened experience with the quality sauces, which each have a distinct flavor profile. I also enjoyed the cole slaw and texas toast considerably, and especially the fries which were crisp and matched very well with the sauces. The same level of food quality is also present in their sandwiches and wraps, which mix the same quality components together for a delicious product.

The food came quickly but when I checked the burger, it had ketchup on it, so I took it back to the counter and they made a new burger for me. I attribute the error to the fact that they were very busy on this Saturday night, putting out a lot of orders. The burger was tasty, the fires were crisp and the Diet Coke went down easy. Bottom line is always check your food before you bite into it but it turned out all good in the end. Four stars...

For the last few months, the service level here has been getting worse and worse - forgetting food items and basically not caring about the customer. Here's my most recent problem: As I'm sure many of you are aware, if you complete the online survey from your receipt, you get emailed a code for a free large fry. I've been using these survey codes for years with no issues. Last week, I go to the Schaumburg location, place my order - with a new trainee (no problems with him - he was great), and hand him my survey code for my free fry. He didn't know what to do with the survey code so he calls over the manager (Ganzo). Ganzo proceeds to tell me that they no longer accept the survey codes and that the survey reward will appear in my Portillo's Perks app - wrong! I asked when did this new policy start and he's says 3 or 4 months ago and then walks away. I say to him as he's walking away that that's not true as I've used survey codes at other locations several times in the last 4 months and asked why am I still being emailed survey codes if you don't accept them??? He again just says it's only in the app and walks away again. I call him back a second time and showed him there is no survey rewards in my app. He angrily types something into the register and then tells the cashier to give me the fry - the cashier asks how to enter it and Ganzo says "Enter the survey code I gave him" - this all sounded to me like the manager just didn't want to honor the free fry. When I got home, I immediately completed my survey from the receipt, which clearly states: "Upon completion, you will receive a validation code via email" for a free fry. I explained in the survey what happened and requested I be contacted - and as usual, I was emailed a code for a free large fry. Sadly, a week later, I get a totally generic email from "Portillo's" that didn't even address me by name and just thanked me for contacting them - did not address any of the issues I reported or any apologies. I'll be avoiding this location from now on. I now go to the Rolling Meadows and Arlington Heights locations, which so far, have still been providing good service.
