Enjoyed the upbeat classic easy listening pop/rock background music. Service is prompt and you can snack on free roasted peanuts while you wait. All the burgers are fresh grilled for your order and taste absolutely delicious. You can choose from a dizzying variety of all the traditional toppings like cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes plus nice upgrades like grilled onions or mushrooms, jalapeño peppers, and sauces (A-1, BBQ, or Hot). The fries are cut with the peeling still on and they have a sign telling you each day where the potatoes were grown. The fries may be a little soft for some, but I think this Five Guys does them just right with a nice amount of salt that isn't too much or too little. In addition to ketchup they also offer Heinz Gourmet Malt Vinegar if you want add in some extra flavor. Be aware when you order, there is always a plentiful overflow of fries in your bag regardless of which size you get. For beverages they have soda, ice tea, and water. The get high ratings from me on soda variety with their twin Coke FreeStyle machines - bunches of flavors with no lines. Definitely 5 Stars for me and I especially like that it is in my area of town so it's easy to come back for more! read more

As soon as you walk in the door here the employees welcome you with a smile! I thought the cook knew me but he is just uber friendly. This time I ordered food to go and the same cook have me a cup to have some soda on the house while I wait. Now THAT's customer service!! The place is clean and smells wonderful as soon as you walk in. Unlike other fresh to order burger places, they get it right the first time!! My hubby always has issues with that in other places but not here. If you haven't tried their fries you don't know what you are missing! They are cut fresh and cooked in 100% peanut oil making them quite tasty! I will be back for sure! read more

This Five Guys location opened mid-late May of 2014 so it's brand new. Located in Carrollwood off of N. Dale Mabry next to where Berryism used to be and two stores to the right of 1-800-flowers. In the same center with Starbucks, Brunchies and Abby's Nutritional Store. I walked in about an hour before closing (got there around 9 pm) and was greeted by just about everyone from the cashier to the cooks to I don't know who else with a red shirt and red cap. It was slow at the time, but I counted at least 8 employees behind the counter. Pretty normal though for a brand new joint as they're expecting a rush the first few weeks. I ordered the cheeseburger (comes with two patties) with mayo, mustard and tomatoes. For those new to five guys, their toppings are free and they better be given their pricey items lol. Their burgers are indeed 100% beef so no artificial crap is added. Also, the more natural, the juicier the burger is in my opinion. It was indeed juicy and the toppings were fresh. BUT... I won't give 5 stars because I feel like $9.36 for a cheeseburger (yes, two patties, but they were on the smaller side) and a bottle of water is a little too much. When the nice cashier rang me up, I had to be sure that they didn't mistakenly include fries as part of my order. They do of course have "little hamburgers" as well that come with a single patty. It's nice, clean and spacious in the inside. There have been a few businesses in this shopping center that have come and gone so it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for this five guys location. Happy eating! read more

This is the second time I've been disappointed by this five guys. My boyfriend EXPLICITLY gave the toppings for my burger and their one job is to put them on it. I despise mayo and the put it ALL over my burger both buns yet that would've never been an option for either burger. We tried to call in the order to make an easier pick up and they just let the phone ring. My boyfriends burger they smeared bbq ALL over. It's annoying that they always mess up orders and charge so much for food but have lazy employees that sit outside and smoke cigarettes all day rather than actually work. Not to mention they didn't make my fries Cajun like he asked either. Never going back to this location. They have lost a valued customer. read more

Their French fries are the best, and they always give you more than you ordered! We joke that we can feed an army with the amount of fries they give us. Price is average. After several visits at various locations, I, personally prefer the Carrollwood location, over the other locations I have visited. Overall on the surface I agree with the other great reviews. My problems is not with the usually friendly staff. I typically love their fries, crispy on the outside, smooth & silky on the inside, not greasy and usually hot & fresh. I don't even have a problem with the buns, size of burgers, variety of burgers offered, accompaniments. ... My problem, may be personal, but I am sure many folks can agree with me on this. If I get a burger, I want it medium well, no less than a strong medium, or I won't eat it. I don't like my ground meat bloody, that's the bottom line. Now a steak, medium rare to rare, blood is my friend. I don't know why I can't get a properly cooked burger for me, maybe because they prefer to serve them medium or if the cooks are in a hurry to get the food out to the customer as quickly as possible. Whatever the reason, after multiple attempts at various locations the results are the same, blood burgers soggy up my bottom bun. Too many places in the bay area to get a great burger & fries & not put up with the insanity of constantly sending back my protien & eating only my side or continuing to pay for food I won't eat. Ordered through door dash tonight and was completely disappointed. The receipt taped to the bag had the correct ingredients but both burgers were missing half the ingredients and one of the burger had some of the ordered ingredients on only half of the burger?? Also all the fries were completely undercooked and some inedible. What a waste of 50 bucks. Would not recommend for takeout because they obviously don't care about pick up orders being right or even cooked!! read more

My oh my how I love this place. It Is an awesome idea to have peanuts available for FREE while waiting for food. They also tell you where the potatoes are from, do I really care? I hate to give a really bad review but our visit sucked. They got my order wrong and when they tried again they got it wrong again! By the time I got my burger the fries were cold. It wasn't busy but still took 15 minutes to get our order then two more tries before they got it correct. My third visit to five guys and my last. Two out of three visits were bad so why would I go back? Plus $8 for a burger and you can't get it right? No thanks. read more

Five Guys have ruined all other cheeseburgers for me. Simply put, this is best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had. Maybe I've just lived a sheltered life with the sporadic McD's trips with childhood friends. As an adult I figured, much like apple pie, this American classic wasn't my thing. Then, I stopped by Five Guys with a friend. Holy cheesy, meaty amazingness! If you haven't tried them, you're missing out on a really good burger. Customer service was non-existent. Thought the person taking my order didn't get the order right, so I repeated it to her. When I picked up the order, there was only one burger instead of two. The person handing it to me said "that's all you ordered". I let them know I had repeated the order twice. The person that took the order said it was no big deal. I told her that the food was now getting cold while I had to wait for another burger to cook. Got in the car and thought I'd have a fry. Guess they thought it would be easier to cook all of the fries for the day when they first opened. Got home and didn't have the correct burger I had ordered. Soooo, we won't be returning to this establishment. read more

While I love five guys and I hate to give a negative review our most recent visit was mediocre at best. One of the soda machines was not in service, the ketchup dispensers were empty, the peanuts were stale, and our burgers were sloppily put together and slightly cold. Hopefully this location will do a better job of keeping their restaurant fully stocked and providing quality food in the future. read more

I'm a huge burger girl and Five Guys is for sure one of my favorites! My boyfriend introduced me to it a few years ago and we love going together! However I'm leaving a lower review because back in November we went and I ordered what I usually do (a cheeseburger and fries) but this time I decided to get mayo. We ate our food in about 20 mins and on the way home I was hit with TERRIBLE food poisoning that lasted about a day and a half! I didn't know it was the mayo until I told a few coworkers about it and they said they had also received food poisoning from having mayo on their burger at this location as well. Clearly it is not being kept at the proper temperature and is sitting out which is a huge problem! Also this night there were only 2 employees on a Friday working and both of them were arguing loudly. One was on break while the other was on the register and clearly the young kid on break was not listening to the girl behind the counter to start cooking. I have never had any other issues with the burgers until I had the mayo! And I also am convinced maybe these kids were seasonal workers but either way two young kids shouldn't be left alone to work on a Friday night by themselves. read more

The first thing I noticed was the noise. Highway to Hell was blasting so loud it was almost painful. I asked the girl behind the counter why it was so loud and she said, "I think it's the music." ya think??? A tip off should have been the free peanuts, because if you come in hungry, you'll be a lot more hungry by the time your burgers are ready. It took 20 minutes. We escaped to a table outdoors where the music was not as loud, but then the torture really began. The fries were soft, heavy, and greasy. I like my fries light and firm, like most fast food eateries. My burger was made up of two thin patties that were crunchy around the edges. Yuck! I couldn't taste the meat. It was like a salad on a bun with crunchy kibbles. Had they used a bigger patty instead of the two thin ones it would have made a better tasting sandwich. I can honestly say that I could've had a better burger for a third of the price at Wendy's. read more
