It's been quite some time since I've had 5 Guys before getting it for lunch today. I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled onion, and mayo along with fries to go. I ate the food roughly 15 mins later. The burger was extremely soggy. No structural integrity at all. The patty itself had nice flavor, but I barely had any onion which was disappointing. I'd give the burger a C. The fries were equally soggy and lacked the crispy I used to associate 5 Guys fries with. I've been to a lot of Five Guys, this is my top location I've been to. The staff was friendly and energetic-- they kept up on cleaning the cafeteria and their work stations. They answered to requests kindly and kept working, even if there wasn't anyone ordering. The food was great, fresh fries, burgers were cooked good. Everything was appetizing visually and in taste. It is difficult to describe how poor their process is. They had a number of employees each doing their own discrete part, from the grill to making the bun combination and wrapping up an aluminum foil, to putting the fries into baskets. Unfortunately, that meant the fried dumper router, scooper, upper and bagger, was doing quite a bit of work as all the other employees sat and watched him for endless minutes, all the burgers made, none of them were even willing to help them out by dropping fries into the oil for him. Unfortunately the service has continued to decline and its starting to remind me of a white castle on the inside. The employees were too busy chatting to call out orders which caused a backup, Then the manager had to take someone else's order construct my burger with it due to the miscommunication. This is our to go place if we want a classic kind of burger, although better quality than most popular fast food chains. And have to admit that 5 guys is my top favorite for chain burgers, far exceeding In-n-out. It's more expensive that other chains but again, I feel that the quality here is much better. Usually go with single cheese all the way + additional items, so it's nice and full, and we're split regular fries with cajun spices. Oh my, 5G cajun fries are too die for! And the serving portion is also huge, one regular size is good for two people. The staff here is friendly and, good or not, they are starting to recognize me when I come in and have my order ready to go. Ordered my food for online pickup on 02/09 @ 9:15, upon arrival inside at the counter I let them know I was picking up a mobile order for Dina. They just looked at me no one said anything. My name was called after the fresh fries were finished they handed me my bag but I also ordered a shake and informed the employee at the counter. He informed me that the shake machine was down and then another employee said the same thing and that they would go get "her" and went into the back, then the other employee followed shortly after. No one came back out. They just kept looking at me through the small window. I waited at the counter for 5 mins and no one came. I ended up just walking out. When I got to my car both the employees came out from the back. I would have just accepted two cups for fountain pops in exchange for the shake. Do not order delivery from this place. Ordering delivery from this Five Guys, you have less than a 50/50 chance of your order being correct. Most of the time, even on the coin flip chance they manage to get the order correct, it will be cold with soggy fries by the time it gets to you. My wife and I just got a delivery order from them that was both incorrect and cold. Additonally, it was around 45 minutes late. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this place really struggles with order accuracy and quality management. read more

The burgers were good, however the staff was so-so. they don't understand when you touch raw food with your hands, your face, your clothes etc. you should not then touch prepared food, major failure over basic safety procedures. I'll start off by saying that these burgers are not the holy grail that is In-N-Out, but I'm a fan nonetheless. If there were In-N-Outs in Michigan, I would still eat at Five Guys every so often. These burgers are pretty basic but still really good! I like that everything is made fresh. The difference between the regular burgers and the "little" burgers = 1/2 pound of meat vs. 1/4 pound of meat. I always get the little cheeseburger, which only comes with one kind of cheese: American. After experimenting with various condiment combinations, I've found that I like lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, and either mustard, A1 sauce, or hot sauce (which is not very hot). I'm not a fan of the jalapenos because they are regular raw jalapenos as opposed to pickled or grilled. Same with the green peppers; they're just raw green peppers... although the last time I went, the lady at the cash register asked my boyfriend if he wanted his green peppers grilled. The grilled mushrooms and grilled onions do get kind of annoying because they are chopped up and tend to fall out of my burger as I'm eating, but I do like grilled veggies on burgers. The fries are not the most consistent. Sometimes they are perfectly crispy; other times they are a little mushy. Luckily, I like both kinds. The cajun fries are far superior to the non-cajun variety (or "Five Guys Style" as the menu calls it). One container of "regular" sized fries is enough for two people. While you are waiting for your burgers, you can eat your fill of free peanuts. Those with peanut allergies should probably stay the hell away from this place. I haven't tried the hot dogs but am kind of tempted. UGH, now I really want a little cheeseburger STAT! Too bad they're closed right now. read more

In the past week I have been to five guys, 3 times, last week Wednesday was the first day I had ever been or heard of Five guys. We then split a fry. I was secretly please to know 4 guys were making our meal, like our own five guys army. Anyways, we sat down peanuts in hand, awaiting our food. Are you supposed to throw the peanuts on the floor? When we got our food I was in love, even though I merely had cheese slapped between to backwards buns, with pickles, it was buttery, and flavorful. My boyfriend LOVED his burger, and for less than 13 dollars for both of us, it's outstanding! The fries are great to, thick cut, super tasty, I love that you can top your fries with malt vinegar. I was so impressed, i knew my friend Chris, who is a total burger guy would love this place, so literally the next day we went back. This time however the place was packed, every table was full, and there was a line to order, for how busy they were, we still received our food in record time, and again I ordered the same thing, and he ordered a double patty cheeseburger with just tomato. His response was " This reminds me of boardwalk food, and I would eat here everyday." Today my third visit, was equally as busy, and just as fast, this time I mixed it up and ordered the veggie grilled cheese, super fresh and tasty. I thought this place was pretty good. Not something to freak out over like that hype would have you believe, but i tend to agree with some of the "best 5.00 burger there is" type reviews. Obviously it doesn't compare to the 9.00-11.00 burgers at places like red coat. But i thought it totally blew away any other fast food burger I've had (which are understandably cheaper). How could it not? they make it from fresh beef right there in front of you. I can see how quality could vary to a certain degree from visit to visit since they are building it right there for you from fresh ingredients. We've been there twice now and I thought it was good both times. The fries, on the other hand, are awesome. I can see how they might not be someone's preference, but they actually tasted like potatoes to me, which is a good thing. I eat fast food about once every 6 months, if that, but i could see myself going to a place like this slightly more often. I'd rather pay a few dollars more for a burger from here when i'm not in the mood or don't have the time for a sit down restaurant burger. read more

"Meh, I've experienced better." The quote for a two star review is right on. It's by no means a bad burger, but it's so far from noteworthy that it just doesn't warrant much in the way of remarks. I ordered a standard cheeseburger with pretty standard toppings, because I wanted to compare and contrast your average burger. I spent time trying to figure out how it was better than Checkers' Big Buford, because I was getting that kind of vibe, but truthfully in the end the only advantage I could come up with, was that it was bigger. The fries were absolutely nothing to speak of either - dry and mostly flavorless. As far as notes per this location, the pop machine either ran out of syrup or got adjusted while I was there also, so when I got a refill to go, all I got was carbonated water and just a little coloring. Pretty gross. There was also this teenaged worker there, who just couldn't seem to keep out of the way or underfoot. It's almost like he was TRYING to get in people's way. Hopefully he learns a little situational awareness someday. And, it's loud. Really, really loud. The place was a former vitamin store, and so it's all tile and concrete walls and ceilings, and the loud radio really echoes throughout. It's difficult to hear the people you came in with. Anyway, like I said, it's not BAD food. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but I wouldn't fight anyone if they wanted to go either. It's as the star review says: I've had better. read more

My only other experience has been the soggy fries my friends had left over at work. The paper bag was nearly clear from the grease, so I knew it had to be good. I got the regular burger (2 patties) and my friend got the small one (because she's a girl). The woman who took our order saw our bewildered looks when we walked in and showed us how to order. Very nice. They have some cool toppings like A-1. They also have some peanuts you can munch on while waiting to gorge yourself. The fries are fantastic and have that old-school just-chopped feel to it. As for the looks of the place, it's not too pretty. Lots of white with splashes of red all over with seemingly no standard typeface to their marketing. Yes, I am being a pretentious graphic design geek, but nuts to it, it looks weird. Anyway, service was quick, burger was good (not as greasy as the myths go), and the prices were pretty good. $11 for 2 burgers and fries. A grilled burger, plenty of (free) toppings (including A1!) for under $4? I'm in. Granted, I have the palette of a seven year old (well done with an uncomfortable amount of ketchup, please), but I was one happy customer when I took on Five Guys. The burger is simple, in between big ol' grilled and chewy buns, the fixins fresh-I recommend the sweet pickles and tomato. The dining area is kind of odd: one big ol' room with tables and plenty of children abound, so I opted to eat back at home where I could enjoy a beer with my burger, just as God intended. I don't eat fast food much, but I can confidently say Five Guys is a very noticeable step up from McDonalds/Burger King, especially for what you pay. The gal who helped us was smiley and eager to assist; she even asked if it was our first time there, and explained how things work. She suggested the fries which were generously proportioned (plenty to share between me and my mate), which I can recommend now, too. We quickly received our food, and when we got home, our orders were followed to a T and the burgers were fresh and not mushed like traditional drippy fast food meals end up looking. Some of these reviews are pretty harsh; maybe my chum and I lucked out as we went during a slower part of a slower day and FGBF were able to take their time. My husband had been telling me how much I would really like the fries here, but we kept putting it off because it is REALLY unhealthy food and some days we try to eat vegetables and whatnot. He is right about the unhealthiness level, and that's the only reason I'm deducting one star. The "regular" burger involves two patties, so I can only assume that the "little" burger has just one. We both got regular burgers and they were cooked just right, juicy but not greasy at all. I'm really picky about what goes on my burger so I LOVE that you get to ask for what you'd like added to it rather than having to try and get them to leave stuff off (if I had a nickel for every drive-thru that gave me unwanted mayo, I'd be rich). I also love that you have some fun options like mushrooms and sauteed onions, you don't get those everywhere. As a few other reviewers have said, the "regular" fries is enough to feed about 4 very hungry people. I have a serious fry addiction and even I couldn't finish half of our order. If you want to get fries, bring several friends to share them with. They're really quite yummy fries, too! They taste a lot like the hand-cut carnival style ones, I love them.
