Unkept building with a poorly paved lot , luckily I didn't go inside . Lady at the drive thru was friendly & asked if I needed any sauces, but that was the best part . Arrived about 12:45 pm , you would think the food would have been good around lunch rush , but no . One chicken sandwich was hot, the other like it's been out for 2 hours , all four cheese sliders were dry , cold , onions cooked beyond recognition & the bun was barely soft , they flat out sucked ! RUDE: The staff are obviously not happy with their jobs and serving. I placed an order and received incorrect order. No one seem to care, I thought the older lady with braids was making my food once I spoke with supervisor he politely made my food, handed my bag to another young lady and she basically tossed my food. I didn't understand because I patiently waited. I was over charged and so was the other customer, the young lady could not even figure out how much money to return to the customer. Those 2 girls are not a good fit and should find a job that's not working with the public. It has been a while since I've visited this particular White Castle location. This evening I ordered the number one combo meal, which is is four White Castle hamburgers with fries and a drink. The fries and drink were fine however I ordered the burgers with everything, and you could barely taste the ketchup and mustard. Otherwise, the meal was decent for the price. read more

I have eaten here many times in the past but it has been a while. The thing that put it over the top for me, as usual, was that some White Castle coupons showed up. We were in a meeting not far from this location so we decided to not bother going home and just eat here and then park ourselves at a nearby Starbucks (and there's always a nearby Starbucks) before our final appointment of the day. We decided to use the drive thru so that we could quickly move to the Starbucks once we picked up our order. There was no line so we placed our order citing the coupon and were told to pull around. I did and pulled up to the first window and waited, and waited, and waited... I tried to get someone's attention by knocking on the window until a lady poked her head out of the second window and waved us there. I had been told to pull around and no window was mentioned. The first window had no sign to pull ahead, in fact it had a visible register and I could see people moving around inside. I assumed, wrongly, that they had stepped away and would be back soon. Anyway, I pulled ahead, paid for our order, received our food, and then pulled away to park and eat. The food was what I expected from White Castle, Little Square Sliders with Mustard, Fries, and a drink! Where do I begin with my review for this white castle? I know, at the beginning. The food is always good, always consistent. The employees here know what they're doing, and they do it quickly. And I'm not just talking burgers, but the church's chicken here is excellent as well, and a great value. The fried okra is really good, and you can't get it just anywhere. Back to the service, and the staff. It is all top-notch for fast food, it's unbelievable. I think it all comes from the manager of the restaurant, she's been running it a long time and the employees have been there a long time which tells you something about the manager here. She must take good care of her employees. On the busiest day of the year is when we see the manager, and she remembers us from the previous year. No with the busiest day of the year is at Whitecastle? It's Valentine's Day. If you haven't been to Whitecastle on Valentine's Day, you need to try it one time. Fortunately for me I've only been to this white castle and one in Columbus a few years ago for Valentine's Day. The one in Columbus was interesting, guests in there brought their own bottles of wine for dinner. But I told some coworkers about this Troy location on Valentine's Day, and they came this year 2018, and they couldn't believe how well the manager had decorated The dining room, and all the great stuff she had for all the guests. The staff was on believable on such a busy day. One of my coworkers told me they didn't get the complementary sparkling cider but they didn't seem to mind. They take reservations on Valentine's Day, which I highly recommend, and may be the only way you can get a table at Whitecastle on Valentine's Day. This year they used open table which was convenient, but it's inconvenient when you want to change your reservation. You have to cancel then rebook, but I didn't want to cancel because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to rebook right away and lose my reservation all together. It's interesting seeing reservations that I've made on open table, including roast, some other fine dining establishments,and, White Castle. Nuff said, see it for yourself. read more

I have to say it has been a long time since I have been to a white castle. There was one right down the street from me that I used to visit, but for some reason, they decided to close it, and it is now a smoothing king. I loved getting chicken rings, and their chicken breast sliders are so good that they would get the crave case of sliders from time to time. So delicious. I had heard about the 1921 sliders on the radio, and right after I listened to the commercial, I saw this place. So I decided to pull in. It was incredibly long on the particular Saturday afternoon in the drive-thru. I order a couple of the 1921 sliders with a coke. I ate my food in the parking lot, and I have to say the sliders were awful; not sure how lettuce and tomato were hot and the beef patties were cold. It was like they microwaved the lettuce and tomato. And then when I went to take a drink of my coke, it was pretty much-carbonated water. All and all, it was an awful experience. read more

I happened to be in the neighbourhood and since I had heard about the impossible burger and this place does serve it, wanted to check it out. I did have a coupon (buy one, get 1 free) I checked it out. Taste wise it was not bad, but the size was rather small.....well it is a slider place after all! Texture was OK, and so yes it does appear that plant based or "meatless" burgers are going to be popular oir become relatively mainstream. Now for the negative about this, service was a little slow. Place is clean, parking is easy, and my order is taken and ready in a good amount of time. Also, it's nice to come into a White Castle without bullet proof glass! I'm a native Detroiter and have been going to White Castle my entire life and this place was the worst, BY FAR!!! First of all, the person taking the orders was rushing me and I was the only person in line. Next, the person who was making the food was really old and slow and seemed unsure of what he was doing. And finally the worst thing of all, the food was AWFUL!!! There was waayyy too much salt and mustard on the tiny little burger. So much that I couldn't eat them but was too far away to go back and when I called to complain, they didn't seem eager to help. I'm all for Mom & Pop/Family-Owned/Immigrant businesses but I don't think fast food restaurants should be one. That is what this place appears to be and they have totally missed the mark of what a White Castle is supposed represent and taste like. Ah white castle, one of my favorites fast food joints when i want something quick to bite. Best part is, it open 24 hours and sometime i have very late night cravings after a night of going out. Been here many times and it never disappointment me. I ordered their new Ghost Pepper sliders just to try it out because i love spicey food. The slider was okay. It wasnt spicey as i thought it would be, just a lil kick to it. But for sure it taste better than the regular sliders in my opinion. That my friend is worth a whole star just to start this review. I decided it was time I took the kids to enjoy their first taste of the Castle. The food may have took awhile, but it gave the kids time to spin around on their stools, throw ketchup, run around the tables & ignore me when I told them to stop. It was the last day of winter break and the place was completely empty so I let them get away with it that night. We ordered some cheeseburgers (plus pickles), onion pedals, crinkle fries & mozzarella sticks to share. My oldest really smashed those sliders! Now that I've moved to Michigan, It feels so good to be back in the arms of a salty, soggy, slider with cheese. Sure, the food is greasy and will most likely take years off your life, but you only live once. Sure, Phoenix is hot - but it's a dry heat. And sure White Castle is poison, but it's a delicious poison. The staff here are also outstanding. I've been in at all hours of the day and night. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dinner-dinner...they've always been amazing, friendly, and even funny. I know this review may sound sarcastic, but I'm serious - I love this place. Last month, my wife asked me where I wanted to have dinner for my birthday. Yup, White Castle in Troy, MI. Maybe you shouldn't eat here every day....or even once a week. This is somehow the ONLY White Castle/Church's anywhere near the Sterling Heights area. Not really a White Castle's fan as I don't fancy the wait for any extremely small dinner roll burger. I come here often though, because of their CHICKEN!!! Gotta love em! Oh yeah, & they also cook spicy chickens according to your order. Which means call ahead of time! The only thing I dislike, other than the wait, is the fact that they don't really value their Church's Chicken's vouchers. The people at the front told me that they do not want to take my vouchers because it's not a Church's Chicken only. I don't get it. Where do u even really find one around here? I am working near this place and sometimes I need to grab a really quick meal. So I have stopped by and tried a few of the dishes they serve here. The sliders are great if you need a slider fix. I especially like the double cheeseburgers. And the fried chicken has always been served nice and hot and not at all greasy. The fries are served hot too. While White Castle used to be a cheap place to go, now I think it is one of the most expensive places on a cost per bite basis. This review is for the White Castle at 8111 High Pointe Dr in West Chester OH off Cin-Day road. Service here was the worst! My first visit was a drive through and when I got home the order was wrong. On my second visit, I went inside for a take out order and watched to make sure they got it right. I ordered two fish sliders with NO cheese. I waited and waited while this slow-moving crew went through the motions with an obvious, "I could care less" attitude. After what seemed like forever, I saw the guy behind the counter putting the sliders into their containers and noticed cheese on them. I stopped him and told him I wanted NO cheese. He looked puzzled and surprised and tried to pull the cheese off with his hands but it had melted onto the fish so he just trashed them. He then went to the cooler and got out more fish and threw it into the deep fryer. I told him I couldn't wait any longer and asked for a refund. The woman in charge acted disgusted as she gave me my money back. No apology, no nothing. There may be stores where the staff understands the concept of customer service but this isn't one of them IMHO. Never going back. read more

After a good morning of estate selling, my wife and I thought it would be fun to stop into the local Troy White Castles on Rochester Rd for a quick treat. We had not been there in a while. I ordered two plain cheeseburgers ($0.94 each) for her and two plain double cheeseburgers ($1.88 each) for me and a large order of onion rings which was filled to the max. WC's onion rings are now straight 2" sections versus the classic circular ring and are coupled with a great new sweet tasting zesty sauce, better than BK's. Hmm I had almost forgotten what White Castle tasted like so I refreshed my memory the other day...bad idea! I'm now convinced that you either love or hate White Castle. My boyfriend and I were trying to decide what to have for lunch and we were passing the White Castle/Church's Chicken combo so I insisted we stop and get White Castle since it had been such a long time! Let's just say I wish I would have ordered something from Church's menu instead. Anyhow we each ordered a sliders combo and now I remember why I was not a fan. I felt like I was basically eating a soggy dinner roll with a pinch of meat! What kind of satisfaction is that? I know it's supposed to be soggy, but I felt mine came out a lil' too soggy. I can understand that the slimy texture and bland taste is acquired but I'm not impressed nor do I understand the buzz that surrounds White Castle. Like I said before it's got to be a love or hate thing! I have eaten the ones that you can buy from the supermarket freezer section and I remember liking those. I was disappointed with the sliders but I did like my fries they were warm and fresh so the extra star is for that. I guess I should have listened to my boyfriend when he suggested Taco Bell and he also warned me about what these do to the tummy! Lesson learned...no more White Castle for me! read more

I would like to start off by saying I love white castle. Its fast, and just hits the spot at certain times. That being said, I have never in my life experienced such a bad experience in food as this night I spent at this White Castle. And I have never given anything a 1 star rating yet. A few weeks ago, I went out after work with a few co-workers. I hit up this location after the event, expecting to get some delicious sliders into my system. I arrived and I was more than ready to divulge in delicious sliders. I made a simple order, 3 burgers, fry, and coke. Easy, right? I proceeded to sit down and wait for my order to be called. 5 more people walked in after me, each ordering 3 times the amount of food I did. The first gentlemen that ordered after me was called after about 5 minutes. I heard orders coming from the drive thru for crave case after crave case. 10 more minutes went by. I am still smiling and trying to be calm about the situation. Another 10 minutes go by, I am one of the only ones left in the dining area. I have seen 3 people who ordered after me walk out with crave cases. Now I am furious. I walk up to the cashier, still trying to smile and be calm. I politely ask for my money back, and I was asked "Why?" Because I have been siting for over 25 minutes waiting for a simple order that's why, while others that ordered after me have been served and left! You have clearly seen me sitting here starring at you waiting patiently for 25 minutes. And I WAS patient. They could have at the very least offered me my order on the house. Nope. Gave me my money, and started blaming the other workers for giving my food away to someone. The importance of correcting a mistake and providing some sort of redeemed customer service was non-apparent. I will probably go to the local White Castles near my house at some point, but I will never again attend this location.
