I have frequented this five guys restaurant on many occasions but today will be the last day. I went in and ordered a $13 meal and was told because of the pandemic they are extremely slow..I then turned around to use the restroom to wash my hands and it was closed. I asked the staff if I could just wash my hands and they apologized and said it was closed.I was offered a wet rag with soap on it and I said no. I then asked for a full refund. I understand there's an illness going around but they are far more equipped to clean the bathroom that I am to clean my hands with no soap and water. In the past week I have been to three fast food restaurant and every one has had the bathroom open to for hand washing.Today I just went to Wendy's instead. I came into the restaurant, as I do probably once a month, and ordered a burger, fries, and a drink. The lady taking my order reeked of marijuana, and left halfway through my order to stack some cups on the other side of the counter, before returning to ask me to repeat my order. Annoying, but no harm. I then tried to find a table in the restaurant that was not covered in old food. Having no luck, I decided to get my drink. The drink machine was filthy. I put my receipt between my finger and the screen, before making a choice. I could still feel the grime beneath my finger. After failing to get ketchup out of the dispenser, I returned to a somewhat "clean" table. I got my food, returned to my table, and started to unwrap the burger. As I did, a female employee named Tory (sp?) with a white headband on went over to the overflowing garbage can, and STUFFED HER HAND DOWN INTO THE GARBAGE CAN in order to make more room for garbage. I stared right at her, as she walked over to the other garbage can by the door and did the exact same thing. Bare handed, just shoulder deep in garbage. She nonchalantly brushed at her apron, as though a burger crumb may have fallen askew onto her lap, and walked over to the drink machines. She started to rearrange the condiments with her filthy hands, touching the free lemons, silverware, malt vinegar bottles, and moving (but not refilling) the ketchup dispensers. All of which people are going to touch before they begin to eat. Tory then briefly spoke with the manager Ryan by the peanut bags, before she proceeded directly to take someones order behind the counter. They mistakenly ordered two drinks from Tory, which she made sure to put her finger in before handing them to the customers. I spoke with Ryan, who apologized, and said he didn't see her do these things. The whole staff of the restaurant seemed unprofessional my entire time there. Prior to attempting to mock me under their breaths for complaining about an employee's hand being covered in garbage, they were singing "Skidamarinkadinkydink-skidamarinky-doo" behind the counter while they cooked, which was clearly making some of the customers wonder what was going on in this restaurant. The smell of pot, along with how long it took Ryan to find 11 dollars and change in the cash register, would lead me to think that Food Prep isn't all that's going on in the back room of this Five Guys. I feel a slight need to apologize for such a lengthy complaint, but that was some disgusting trip to a restaurant I normally enjoy, but will never visit again. I still feel the need to vomit at the thought of how many times I've bought your burger, and thought that you actually ran a decent establishment. So I won't apologize, but I will sermonize to others (including the Health Department) about these disgusting practices. Hopefully, you read this, but: tl;dr Staff sticks hand in garbage can rather than takes it out, then touches the rest of the restaurant with stink fist. read more

I wanted to give this place five stars. I really did. The customer service was excellent. I ordered online and though they didn't have my Cajun fries ready by the time I got there (15 minutes later although the estimated cooking time was 7 minutes), they were extremely polite about it, so I gave them a pass for it (5/5 stars for customer service). However, my food was so greasy that the paper bag ripped open and all of my fries fell on the floor the moment that I got out of my car. My grilled cheese also fell on the floor but at least it was wrapped up so I could go on to eat it. Unfortunately, though it tasted good, it was also extremely greasy to the point where the bread was falling apart towards the back of the sandwich. 2/5 stars for not being able to actually eat my fries and for the sandwich falling apart in my hands towards the end. read more

Since this store remodeled in 2019, their prices went up and their fries aren't cooked quite as well - but the burgers are still delightful.

Five Guys has been in my top 3 fast casual burgers for years and they never disappoint. I usually go for the double bacon cheeseburger with pretty much all the toppings. It's so good and initially hard to eat because of the size but once you get going there is no turning back. The storefronts are always kept immaculately clean and the service is always friendly. Their fries remind me of when I was a kid on the boardwalk in Ocean City, MD. At this location they have those new Coke machines that basically lets you come up with any flavor that you want which is awesome. The fries are awesome as well, fresh cut and salted and they have malt vinegar in house which is amazing. I usually take the vinegar and add it right to the ketchup so that I can get both fixes with one dip. Can't wait to go back and I was gone too long between visits. Other than The Company Burger (NOLA) and Shake Shack, this is my go to. read more

I usually go to the five guys on city ave in philly. But, didn't want to make the 45min drive this time and went to this one instead. Not having a five guys burger for over a year, I was excited for this trip. Unfortunately though, it ended up being the most disappointing five guys experience in the last 6yrs. May be I just picked the wrong day. The staff seemed grumpy, contrary to other five guys places. I kept observing them to see whether if it was just my perception or what. But, each time a customer went up to order or pick up their order, not a single smile cracked or even any welcoming gesture expressed. They were saying thank you as if someone was holding a gun at their head and forcing them to say so. But, behind the scene, the staff were very cordial with each other. So, I don't know what was going on at this place. In contrast, I've been to five guys where the staff literally sing random melodies while going about their job on top of being super friendly to the customers. On to the real reason for my visit: burger and fries. Another disappointment: the patties were overcooked and dry to the point that they were breaking apart as I was holding the burger. In contrast, all my previous five guys experiences were laden with mouth watering juicy patties topped off with perfect portion of toppings. Fries too were a disappointment. They were just plain old soggy and much saltier than I remember them being. I'm not sure what the standard is, but I've noticed at other five guys that they have multiple condiment selections. At this place however, just ketchup. And for utensils, just plastic knives; no forks. Again, I don't know if I just picked the wrong day to visit this place. But, it seems I'm gonna have to visit the branch located on city ave to redeem the Five Guys experience worthy of a "5-star" rating. read more

I ate at Five Guys only for the second time 2 days ago and my first time at this location. We ordered right away and had maybe a 7 or 8 minute wait for our order to be ready. The burgers were excellent and the fries were hot and there were plenty of them (regular size) but I thought it was pretty pricey for a fast food spot. I was a big fan of Jake's Wayback before they closed the Willow Grove location and I found myself wishing that 5 Guy's had milkshakes like Jake's. They had an abundance of drink options from which to choose but the Coke wasn't good. It didn't taste like Coke at all---tasted like some generic Cola with a lime under taste. But if I'm in need for a good burger, I'll be back. read more

Some co-workers and I decided to go to Five Guys for lunch, glad we did! I ordered a Single Cheeseburger with Fried Onions, Mushrooms, Mayo, Tomato and Lettuce.. it was good!! The lettuce was crisp, mushrooms/ onions were fried just right and tomato was ripe!! We shared a french fry, which a small was good enough for 4 of us, but some french fries were a soggy:( Had I had gotten some soggy fries I would of given them a 5 star!! I will defintitely go back and look forward to it. Bonus for me~ Malt Vinagar is available for French Fries~ Delicious! I love that they have TONS of ketchup available too!! I love Five Guys! Simply put, they have the concept of the perfect burger down to a science. The fries are hit or miss for me, tasty at times, bland and below average the next. The menu, restaurant design, and presentation are blunt, basic with no frills: order burger, eat burger, go to sleep and possibly die in your sleep of an exploding heart....but at least your last meal will be a Five Guys burger....ain't nothing wrong with that!! read more

Man, these burgers are amazing. I usually get the little cheeseburger and it's enough. My husband and I share the regular fries, because they always top on extra! Service is always really great. We will generally order from the app and pick it up while we're out doing errands on the weekend. Never have to wait too long and you can pay and decide ahead of time. I've visted several of there locations. The service and food has been top notch. It's a little pricey but well worth it. Burgers are always great with an endless possibilities of toppings. The burgers are great, I would give them a 5 but the service was beyond pathetic. I was there last night around 6:30, well after the dinner rush, and had to wait 20 minutes for my order. It was a little busy but I have been there when it is much more crowded and have never waited that long. I saw several people walk out without even ordering. What went on in this store reflects very poorly on Five Guys as a whole as i have been to a few of them and this is certainly not the norm. That being said, I don't suggest going to this Five Guys if you are in a hurry. read more

Great burgers and fries. Don't let any hype set your expectations too high. You're not going to have a religious experience but it will probably rank with the top hamburgers you've had. Keep in mind that a regular order of fries is usually enough for two people. Also don't ignore the hot dogs, they are equally awesome. The menu is small for a reason: they only offer food that they've mastered. I'm told this is the reason that they don't offer milkshakes like most burger joints. Apparently they haven't been able to produce the "perfect milkshake" yet so they don't offer it. Then again, maybe I'm just drinking some of their marketing kool aid with that tidbit. Most of the staff was great, except the one female manager, she was extremely rude. She seemed to be side glaring everyone in the restaurant. it was ok. its my opinion it didn't live up to the hype. i didn't like the aspect of having no trays. i get a paper bag and than go to a table. i didn't like that. i also didn't like their fries which seem to be a special blend of potato grown specifically for 5 guys according to the potato bag they keep by the front for everyone to read. THE ONE THING I HATED WAS THE PRICE OF A DRINK. $ 2.21. i would rather them charge me a buck more for the burger than that much for a drink leaving me with the feeling i have been ripped off. living in Los Angeles for 15 years i was looking forward to 5 guys since i live here in PA now. its not better than " in and out burger " located in california. i almost forgot, the people who worked there were very nice and friendly and are good reps to their brand read more

The burgers and fries are the same quality as all the other 5 Guys locations I've eaten at which is great. The service during my initial visit was friendly. I had ordered a regular bacon burger (no cheese). When I got home a half hour later, I realized it had cheese on it. I drove a half hour back and let them know exactly what happened. He told me I could keep the cheeseburger and he'd make me a new one. Keeping the cheeseburger does me no good as I'm lactose intolerant, but it's their policy that they can't take the food back so it got tossed in the trash. They made my new burger and that was that. If I was dining in I'd have been fine with the experience, but I did let them know I drove a half hour home and a half hour back. With a total of an hour and a half just to get the and eat the burger I ordered, I think most establishments would offer some sort of compensation. I mean even just a drink or smalll fries considering the wasted time and gas. Like I said though, the food is good and the service was otherwise fine. read more
