Got a sample of each and the family loved it. I tried the chilli and it is delicious. Not too spicy which is perfect for me. They had tater tots that are seasoned and were reported to be delicious. Not one left on a plate. The creamy mac and cheese was great and eventually mixed with the pulled chicken to make a yummy kid friendly meal. Crazy setup since they work out of the VFW Post and the Chef and Saff are all personable and super friendly. They made great suggestions and made everything comfortable. Delicious! Nice portions! Great service! I didn't know what to expect. It's a bit hidden but worth the find. I got an entree- half rack of ribs (they were out of chicken) with 2 large sides (collard greens and Mac'n cheese) and some cornbread. Also got a small side of carrots and a pecan pie. All made in house. Yummy! I ordered in the kitchen and then waited in my car. When it was ready they brought it out to me. No place to sit- it's just a kitchen, that's all I could see but I was also there at night and didn't look around. Ribs were tender, all the sides were good and flavorful. Can't wait to try the pie. Found on yelp and its super close to my hotel. One of those places you can't judge by location or building. Located in a american legion back door. You felt like you were ordering from some secret bbq haven.. I ended up ordering chicken. Which is a half a chicken with nice dry rub. Tender and juicy with mix of spices. They threw in a bbq sauce. With a wedge of corn bread. I ordered creamy mac and cheese and collards. Everything was homemade and you can taste it. The prices were ok. 20 to 30 per platter meal. This place is SO GOOD EVERY TIME. I don't care how much I spend. It is worth every penny. The ribs fall off the bone and have an awesome bark, pulled chicken is fire, the Mac and cheese is unreal, beans are a 10, slaw and green beans are excellent. Even the cornbread was perfect. Nice BBQ spot in the cut. It is a spot for to-go. When I opened the door the cook what there to greet me. I ordered BBQ Brisket Sandwich w/ Pork & Beans and Mac & Cheese. Cornbread came with it. The BBQ sauce was nice and sweet and savory. Good taste. I'll say I've taste that sauce before for sure. Brisket was a delicious and well seasoned. Mac & Cheese was okay. It should use different cheese and seasonings but I still ate it. Pork & Beans was my favoriteeee - nice sweet & smokey sauce for the pork and beans. Cornbread was not that good. Service was great! Ordered them through Grubhub a while ago, perfect no issues. Ordered again tonight, 4/29: pulled pork and tater tots. Only request I made was to keep the coleslaw off the pulled pork. Not hard, shouldn't cost extra.... A few minutes later I received an email from Grubhub saying they added an extra $2.50 to the bill. Didn't state a reason. Also never received my tater tots. Got fries instead... even though I clearly clicked tater tots... Yes I contacted Grubhub and they didn't see any adjustment change, so it had to be the restaurant. I think that's faulty on their end. Ordered delivery last night, we split a full rack, green beans, baked beans, & cornbread. Ribs came with a dry rub, sauce on side, perfect, wife is allergic to tomatoes. There was a good amount of string beans, looked like sautéed with garlic, not really garlicy though, delicious and plentiful. Baked beans were good, lot of them. I added bbq sauce to them. The ribs! Super meaty, dry rub not salty at all, many competitors feel tons of salt=flavor. WRONG. Anyway, fall off the bone and just wonderful. Dinner was $35.00, I can't say if it was high or low, who can these days. We couldn't finish everything, so I'd have to say it was worth it. Id certainly have spent more or the same at competitors. I've eaten ribs all around the country, Famous Dave's in Chicago, Red, Hot & Blue in NJ, Sweet Lucy's here in Philthydelphia, Mission, also here.. I have to give Smoky a ton of credit. Ok! Where do I begin??? We have been looking for a place to get good BBQ and fried fish. Conducted a Google search and came across Smokey Bandit BBQ. Decided to give it a chance, since it literally is three minutes from my home. All I can say is... OMG. The fried catfish and collard greens are out of this world. Not only is the food great, but it's plentiful. The picture I included in the review represents 1/2 of the portion received. Looking forward to trying other items on the menu. Don't be alarmed by the fact that they are located in the back of the American Legion building, they are back there doing the damn thing! Ordered a few items to try out and so glad I did. It's a super small place and off the beaten path. (Not far, just not on the main road) was in the mood to "pig" out..... *dad joke* I got a half rack of ribs, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, and cider glazed carrots. The ribs literally fell off of the bone. There was no meat left behind. It was tender and dare I say it... moist. (Sorry people that hate the word but I don't want dry meat lol) The carrots were really good and the mac n cheese was extra creamy and delicious. The pulled pork was also awesome. The owner/chef was very nice and provided good service. Also, the portions were generous. However, the food was not good, earning a fair for the cornbread only. The cornbread was burnt, but had a good flavor if you only ate the inside. The brisket was bland, and even the good barbecue sauce that was provided did not improve the taste, although the only way it was even palatable was to add the sauce. The ribs were tough due to being overcooked. The greens were tough and barely able to be chewed, plus they were full of vinegar. The macaroni and cheese was minus good cheese, very soupy, and downright horrible. The baked beans had no flavor or seasoning. I spent $95.00 on food that I wouldn't serve a dog. The reviews misled me. I've eaten brisket and ribs in Texas, so I know what good barbecue tastes like. Also, I've had ribs in Kansas City and various parts of the south, and I know what good barbecue ribs taste like. Now I've got to figure out a good meal for my husband to eat today, as he couldn't really eat the ribs, greens and barely could eat the baked beans. i won't be back after such disappointment. I like BBQ. (Period; full stop.) I like that BBQ has differences in different regions (Texas, Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Eastern Carolina, Georgia, and more). In the movie, Smokey chased the Bandit from Atlanta to Texarkana and back. Smokey Bandit BBQ fits well in the Memphis to Atlanta section, with a nod toward Carolina. Dry Baby Backs tender as can be with a nice rub, and sauce on the side. Both with a little kick, but not hot. The kind of spice you are still enjoying hours later! Best dry ribs this far from Memphis, no doubt! I like they have twists on the standard BBQ sides. Cider glazed carrots are a treat! Menu lists Creamy Mac and Cheese, and they mean creamy! Good stuff! First time trying Smokey Bandit BBQ tonight and am glad we did! We ordered via Door Dash and had a great experience. The food was ready quickly and arrived hot. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with tater tots and Caesar salad. I was fully expecting steamed tots as is par for the course with takeout, but I was delightfully surprised that they were crispy!! Diane and CT I don't know you all personally yet, but you have outdone yourselves! My daughter and I just ordered a catfish platter with Mac and Cheese and extra cornbread on Door Dash. I am soooo glad I was able to support a local business. Everything was packaged so neatly down to the taper evident sticker and the sides in a different container so my catfish wasn't soggy! My catfish was flavorful and crispy! The Cheese pulls on the Mac and cheese made me soooo happy. My one year old ate catfish and her own slice of cornbread it was sooo good. I'm giving 2 stars because the service was friendly & my takeout order was packed up nicely, no leaks or anything. The cheesesteak loaded tots were decent. But that is where the good stuff ends. I tried pork, brisket & smoked chicken. There wasn't much smoke flavor or seasoning on anything. The ribs are crusted w/ rub, but there is no flavor to it. I tried the smoked chicken in a quesadilla that was bland & greasy. The pulled pork is ok but all the flavor comes from the sauce. Worst of all was the flavorless brisket, it's somehow dry in the mouth even though it's swimming in a heavy, unpleasant sauce. The side sauce they gave is mostly just thick & sweet, not really good, but it would have been ok next to better food. The burger I got was overcooked & dry. It was doused in more sweet sauce, but somehow the bun was still dry & hard. I feel like this could be much better w/ a little effort. read more

We saw the Yelp reviews on Smokey Bandit and thought we'd give it a try and we are so glad we did. It was delicious!! The pulled pork was tasty and juicy. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender with great flavor. The BBQ sauce, packaged separately, was sweet, but not too sweet, with just the lightest hint of spice. And somehow the French fries were still crispy when we got them home. We got 1 lb of pulled pork and a full rack of ribs and that is enough for 2 dinners. Smokey is located in the back of a local VFW post. When we called in the order the woman who answered was very friendly and helpful and told be to come around the back when I picked up the order. I found them through DoorDash, and wow! Everything exceeded my expectations! I ordered the ribs platter with mac and cheese & yams. And when I tell you the portions are MASSIVE! You get a half rack of ribs, and big containers of each side. The ribs have a nice, smoky dry rub on them, and they're fall-off-the-bone tender!! The also included a side of bbq sauce.The mac and cheese was so good, and the yams were perfect and not too sweet. Each platter also comes with a slice of cornbread, and it was nice and moist. I always check google for restaurants near my location and this hole-in-the-wall place just popped up and it's crazy because I've been living here for years! The place needs more signage specially on the door, but everyone there are polite and nice and pointed me in the right direction. We loved the catfish! This was the best catfish we had in a while and for a really good price! We weren't fans of the mac and cheese, thought it could use a bit more flavor and was a bit too watery. Definitely visit this place!! This local hole in the wall is such a hidden gem and arguably the best barbecue spot in the area. The prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. Ordered the pulled pork sandwich with fries, the Smokey bandit burger with tater tots, and Mac and cheese. The juicy, flavorful pulled pork has this amazing smoky flavor that tastes straight out of a backyard smoker in the best way. The burger was also delicious basically the same as the pulled pork sandwich with a perfectly medium cooked patty. The fries are nicely seasoned and perfectly crispy even after it traveled in a to go box, I wish I ordered more! The Mac and cheese was melt in your mouth delicious and addicting. The tater tots were also incredibly crispy. Service was great and the man who took my order was so friendly! Pick up was easy and seamless, everything packed neatly and stapled at the top for easy carry. Maybe something I'd like for next time is more barbecue sauce. The ribs were tender and perfectly seasoned with a nice dry rub. The barbecue sauce was also perfect sweet and savory but not overly sweet. The corn bread was unusually dense and delicious with a hint of sweetness . The baked beans were the best baked beans my wife had ever had - tender and tangy sauce. The green beans were seasoned with garlic and sautéed perfect. We live within walking distance and occasionally walk past the American Legion and Smokey Bandit BBQ sign. Tonight, my husband said, "let's eat bbq tonight", and sent me the number to call in. Called in to order and was immediately greeted by Diane who was in process of putting the sweet potatoes in the oven. I hadn't even looked at a menu, but Diane was kind enough to walk me through all the delicious entrees for the night, even recommending a sampler. (We did decline on the sampler, though, since we just had chicken last night and didn't want it again today.) We committed to the bbq rib entree and the pulled pork entree that comes with 2 side each. We of course got the sweet potatoes and collard greens, and mac &cheese, baked beans, cole slaw, and the most delicious corn bread. Everything was so incredibly delicious.
