I forgot that lettuce, tomato and pickles aren't part of a regular burger order. So I basically just got two fat ass pieces of unseasoned meat with cheese. My fault - partially. The fries were hefty and overflowed but pretty soggy. People who work there are super cool though. read more

I almost never go to Five Guys and when I do, I usually only order the fries because they're hot, fresh, and plentiful. This time, I ordered a cheeseburger as well. I wasn't aware that I had to ask for toppings on my burger if I wanted them, which makes sense, but it really just went over my head. I was already disappointed in my cheeseburger without toppings, so you can imagine how I felt when I received a cheeseburger with two patties and cold cheese. On top of that, the girl working at the front counter was rude. She was cleaning the front area while I was walking in and once she noticed me, I saw her roll her eyes at me and walk up to the counter. She was blatantly disinterested in doing her job. I don't expect phenomenal customer service from a teenager most likely working close to, if not, minimum wage at a burger joint, but the least you can do is smile and pretend you like working there when customers are around. Really the only redeeming qualities of my short experience at this location was that it was clean and the man who gave me my fries was nice. I placed an order to go and he told me not to close up the paper bag so my fries don't get soggy. It was such a minor thing but it resonated with me. Needless to say, I don't plan on coming back to this Five Guys location unless I'm in dire need for their fries. read more

Customer service here was great. My bf ordered bacon on his burger and they forgot about it which my bf wasn't upset about but just wanted to let the cook know. But, the cashier apologized and gave my bf a $10 gift card. Bf felt embarrassed because he didn't want it to be a big deal. While this is a new building and franchise, it's already rather dirty. There was one high-schoolish gal clearing and "cleaning" tables, who basically wiped all the oil-coated tables with the same wet rag. You order, and wait...and wait...you get it. While I waited, I watched the 3 or 4 flies buzz around the food prep area, and workers touching food and money with the same pair of gloves on. After 20 minutes my food was ready. All is served in bags...my two burgers under a mound of fries tossed on top...was good once I got to them. Sorry...this is a busy place and a big crowd. If it's going to survive, the mgt has to be super. Also, there is lots of echo and noise...hard to converse with this and Sirius/XM all at the same time. This franchise, store No. 465, just opened last week. The operation is exactly like the FIve Guys in Watchung, NJ that I reviewed recently, and, undoubtedly, the other 463 as well. They have cardboard cartons full of peanuts that you can munch, while you wait for them to call out your number, sort of like a circus elephant waiting for your cue to perform. I had a single burger with cheese, sautéed onion, mushrooms, and BBQ sauce ($3.59), and a regular size order of Cajun fries ($2.59). The burger was nicely cooked, and tasted fresh. The bun is basically Wonder Bread. A regular size order of fries is too much for one person to eat. As before, I threw half of them away. I didn't care for the Cajun flavoring. My discerning palate detected 10% salt, 10% garlic powder, 5% cayenne, and 75% stale paprika, which they must buy by the truckload. To sum up, the burgers are passable, the fries meh. Ordered the basic cheese burger, regular fries and a soda. The burger was two patties with cheese in between them, along with the toppings I chose. I would say the burger was cooked medium well, which is usually how I like my burgers. The fries were excellent. Most were crisp. They are substantial in size (both the quantity and quality) and have the skin on. The regular size is enough for at least two people to share. They even had a sign on the wall indicating where the potato's were from. I guess they make the fries there in the store. They have 2 Coke machines that dispense fountain drinks. These are the new machines that offer 1000's of soda combinations. Excellent! The large store has plenty of tables and was pretty empty when I went in. It's clean and bright inside. Parking is on the street and there's a lot around the corner. read more

The burgers here are well worth the price. I always leave Five Guys feeling full and having enjoyed my meal. The burgers are made to order so be prepared to wait a bit if they are busy. While you wait, enjoy some of the peanuts they have. And as usual, they also forgot to deliver my shakes which they had charged me for. Never again! I enjoy eating at 5 Guys. It is a burger chain. When you arrive you walk up to the counter to place your order. You can order a single which I do , it's plenty big or double style burger . What I like is you tell them the toppings you want on your burger. Lettuce, onion, tomatoes, cheese, pickles, with or without bacon etc. I would suggest ordering fries. You can see different bags of potatoes on the floor. Each month a different kind of potato is brought in from different parts of the country. The skin is left on when they are fried. You can add cheese etc. The burgers are juicy and rich. The fries well I can't stop eating them. Once your order is placed you are given a receipt and you wait. At lunch time the lines can get long . What is interesting is 5Guys provides everyone with free peanuts while you wait for your order to be processed.You just help yourself. I suggest if you get your order to go you check it first. Mistakes are sometimes made. All in all for a fast food place it's well worth a try. read more

It took me 25 minutes to get my burger. There are certain times when you should not come because if you come during the peak hours, many obnoxious teenagers will be there and try to cut in front of you. The joint can get very boisterous. I got a bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, ketchup, lettuce, and pickles which was good. I recommend getting the little version of the burger because with my regular you are getting two patties which is very filling. The reason I like to come to five guys occasionally is because they give you a lot of condiments and no extra charge. For example, I really like malt vinegar with my burgers because the acidity helps makes it easier to digest and it tastes a lot better in my opinion. Traditionally the malt vinegar is for the fries but they taste good with burgers too. You get free peanuts which is also a plus. Although the burgers are pretty good, by no means should you eat them regularly. After I finished my burger in two sittings, I almost felt the need to see my doctor to check my cholesterol. Overall though, it's a great occasional treat. read more

Food is secondary here- go for the music and Coca-Cola Freestyle machine. Honestly- having access to unlimited Diet Coke with all kinds of flavors makes me giddy- but hearing songs from Oasis, Foreigner, Guns N Roses, Neil Diamond and Blondie all in one sitting makes for an enjoyable afternoon or evening. I like it that I can bring my family here and everyone can find something to eat, even when I am watching carbs. Staff is always polite, restrooms are clean and burgers are nicely done, with or without bun. Kids love the hot dogs here. This location is far superior to others in the area. Was pleasantly surprised with this spot since first visiting a five guys back in the early 2000's. This spot was really clean and almost looked like a brand new location to me. Very well kept. The service was good and the food was cooked quickly. Fun soda machines inside and liked having some peanuts while waiting. Just went for a little burger (was good size) with little fries (shared for two). The burger was tasty and I was able to add on all the toppings I wanted with no extra cost for them. Was cheap too! Dinner for two for $14. Not bad at all. It's better than going to McDonald's (tastes healthier and fresher) and probably works out cheaper. It's a nice spot for a quick bite to eat out. The Westfield location- the food is fine but I am not joking when I say my husband just came home for the FIFTH time in the past 2 months with our order messed up. I always get a bunless bacon burger- it has cheese I did not order each time. My husband has not had bacon 3x. We both always get burger in a bowl and he had a bun last time. The kids in there are joking, singing and that would be fine if they got the ORDER RIGHT. Next time I will be going in there and ordering. My husband is too nice. I will be checking the order before I leave the store- which I should not have to do, and I will be leaving the order on the counter if it is wrong. My boyfriend and I came here for lunch today. We loved the free peanuts! I love taking them out of their shells :) The menu isn't terribly extensive, but there's plenty of goodness. He had a cheeseburger and I had a hot dog - I was very pleased with it - they split it, which is my favorite thing ever! We split a large order of fries - they were excellent. Five Guys is Five Guys where ever you go. It's consistent with taste each time at any location. As far as this location in Westfield, don't go there on a Friday evening or Saturday to grab a burger. It is filled with the entire Westfield teenage crowd who aren't in any way supervised, but just allowed to run free in the streets of Westfield only to end up in Five Guys crowding the joint and not buying anything, just eating Free peanuts and making alot of noise. The workers here do a kick ass job. Though they seem to be a bit overwhelmed and understaffed. The last time I was there it was so busy I was watching two of the employees hands literally shaking from nervousness and from the excessive demand for the burgers. This was two very young men who seem a bit too young to be having a nervous break down already though it looked like they were on the verge of it. Five guys should really think about opening a second location there in Westfield to relieve the over whelming burden upon its employees. Or add another employee or two though they didn't seem to have enough room with the just 5 employees they had. Also the employees seemed to be squinting and struggling to review the receipt of the orders they had to make. Maybe the company should print receipts with larger print to make it a bit easier to put together the orders. Though I'm sure corporate is more concerned about saving money on the ink then their employees struggling to read causing added stress. Anyway fantastic job and great food.
