Five Restaurant Bistro was a FIVE out of FIVE experience. We made a reservation for the outdoor area and was pleased with the cover above along with heaters scattered about to keep us warm. They know how to do bread here! The baked goat cheese and pistachio served with crostini were amazing. Baked perfectly and such a well rounded combination of flavors. Their pizza dough also so so good! I had the Italian sausage pizza and absolutely devoured it! Dashed their homemade chili oil on top?! Perfect. Finally got dessert the pear bread topped with vanilla ice cream. Another very well made bread! The bread had a crispiness to the edges but was warm and nice the deeper you dug into the dish. Attentive service and overall such nice vibes and flavors. I'll have to be back to try more of the menu.

Always love coming to Five! The aesthetic is so cool, inside and out there is beautiful decor, plants, ambient lighting, and good vibes. The service is always great, every server is attentive and knowledgable - Cam was great! And the food never disappoints! There are options for those of us with food intolerances, which I appreciate (gluten/dairy/meat free). The salmon was perfectly tender and flaky, the beet salad was so flavorful and surprising, and the dessert was just divine!! And always, compliments to the bartender :)

Everything about our meal at FIVE last weekend was perfection. We went to celebrate my husband's birthday and recent promotion at work. Our party consisted of four adults and two kids. We made a reservation a few weeks in advance, and were enthusiastically greeted when we got there. Within a minute, James introduced himself as our server. I could tell immediately that he would roll with the punches when it came to tolerating my elderly father's cringeworthy jokes. James went over the specials and gave guidance in regards to the cocktails and appetizers. We ordered Pistachio crusted goat cheese with tapenade and pita, and Tomato Basil bruschetta with crostini to start. While not huge, it was enough for each adult to have a try and both were delicious. The bruschetta was garlicky and fresh while the goat cheese was unique and flavorful. James graciously brought out more crostini as well. Between us, we ordered two Chicken Piccatas, one Carne Asada, one Pickle Pizza (specials) and kid's cheese pizza. Everything was excellent. The chicken piccata was perfectly fried with a delicate sauce. This is one of my favorite dishes, and while I highly prefer it to be served with pasta instead of potatoes, the potatoes were nicely done, and there was a generous portion. Loved the broccolini. My husband said his Carne Asada was also very tender and tasty. He really enjoyed it. Dad got the pickle pizza which seemed like an unusual choice, but he really enjoyed it. He gave me a taste as well, my first time experiencing pickle pizza, and let me tell you, it's delicious. I love that they have a kids menu with the basics and the price is extremely reasonable at $5. That's almost unheard of nowadays. Thank you, FIVE bistro for having this menu, especially for families like mine where the kids aren't always hungry or eager to try something new. Often times, the kids menu will make or break whether we go to a particular restaurant or not. A nice surprise was that my husband was brought a large dessert that was complimentary for his birthday. It was some deep fried cinnamon and sugar covered doughy balls, similar to big puffy donut holes, with some vanilla ice cream. It was a very nice touch. He loved it. The kids had the brownie and a scoop of ice cream and both were gone in seconds. The gentleman who appeared to be the manager standing at the host stand was funny, kind, and just really personable. He made the whole experience even better. We arrived at 5:30 pm before it really got poppin', but by 6:30, every table was full so plan accordingly. 100% recommend giving this place a try. It was absolutely fantastic.

Went here for Christmas Eve dinner, it was absolutely delicious. We all cleared our plates completely and talked about the meal for the next 2 days. Ambiance was amazing and service was very nice. 5/5 recommend.

Wonderful way to treat ourselves at the end of a busy week sitting at the bar enjoying a mixed berry crisp, delicious cup of coffee, and being pampered by an attentive waitress. Yum!!!

Went here at around 5 on Thursday and it was fairly busy, especially the outside area in the back which is so cute. The waiters were very nice and friendly. I think the food was alright, I don't think it's anything special. Should also note the bathrooms were very dark. I wouldn't go back BECAUSE of their 3% surcharge that isn't even tip!! It's written tiny on the menu and I appreciate more clear transparency. Margherita - 6.5/10 : the crust wasn't quite right for us, wasn't soggy but wasn't like good level of crunch. They added Parmesan on top and I'm not sure if I like that either bc it's a little over powering. I liked how there was a lot of basil tho and that it's shredded, nice touch. Sauce wasn't very even, every bite was very differing. Linguini - 6/10: it is quite creamy and thick. The linguini and sauce didn't really have much seafood flavor on their own, wasn't well mixed together. Just tasted like seafood was thrown on top. Had a lot of different flavors but not sure it blended well, some seafood pieces were good but some were very not good.

Chicken piccata. Lemon butter sauce with capers and parsley. Mashed potatoes and broccolini on the side. Scrumptious.

Great food, great service, and pretty consistent. Simple menu and every choice is a good one.

What a lovely Thursday evening at Five Bistro! We had a reservation at 6pm to celebrate a birthday. A few members of our group arrived early around 5:30pm and leisurely enjoyed drinks and appetizers at the bar. The bartender even gave us a glimpse into next month's special drink-- featuring grapefruit, ginger, and tequila! We enjoyed the baked goat cheese with crostinis, and especially liked the olive tapenade it came with. Order extra crostini to maximize goat cheese use! Around 5:50pm, we were seated at our table on the outdoor patio where we stayed warm by the tabletop fire. For dinner, we ordered 3 large pizzas (Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, & Kale) and a large Caesar salad to share between our group of 4 people. Everything was delicious, especially with the chili oil on our pizza crusts. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and Five continues to be an Edmonds favorite!

Excellent service, drinks, and food. Will be back for sure. The calamari was great as well, so much flavor.

Five Restaurant Bistro is my go-to for outdoor dining. I like how its enclosed but still has plenty of fresh hair. Whether rain or sun, summer or winter they've had their patio consistently open and quite comfortable. Once during a chilly month when it was slow they allowed me to sit at one of their firepit tables and that was awesome! I am addicted to their pizzas. The small is too small for an entree but could make for a good appetizer. Their large is very filling, but I never find it too much food. I like how soft the crust is with just a little salt to make it delectable. It never seems too greasy and is always a delight. Their cocktails are also always on point. There's a wide variety of different types from spirit forward to light and refreshing. I really like that they typically have a special cocktail as well each month. It adds to the variety. The service has always been solid. Some of the servers are very enthusiastic and charming while others are more politely professional. This is not a fast restaurant. I've never been out of here less than 90 minutes, but I love it for visiting with friends. Because the flip side is I never feel rushed either!

You know this place is good when it's busy on a random Tuesday night. Service was veryyyyyyy slow but I think they didn't expect the turnout. My friend went back the next night and said the service was good, and he got chili oil with his pizza that time and we did not :( ANYWAYS The special pickle pizza was so freaking good. I would come back just for this. Caesar salad was also good and the prosciutto were good but nothing to rave about. BUT the calamari, I have never liked calamari unless it's fried but man this one was sooooooo good. The sauce, the added crunch from the nuts, it can't be beat. My friend liked it so much he came back the next day with his mom! Overall, a fun spot with delicious food. A cute interior and nice spacious patio. Parking can get a bit tight though on a busy night, not sure where you would park otherwise, and just beware of slow service if they are packed! Even just getting waters and such and no chili oil :( lol

Still my favorite place in Edmonds! Fantastic food, excellent service, nice outdoor patio. Decent cocktails.

This was our third visit and it did not disappoint! Every time it's better than the last. While we try different items each time, we are already happy! The service is always on point and they are make excellent recommendations. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

I'm here to review the food, which is great and unlike other menus in the neighborhood. Here, you will find "bar food" elevated so high it could hold its own among fine dining. My mom and shared a few plates: the Vinbero club, the spring pea risotto, and the kale Caesar salad. Everything was delicious. The club is packed with thinly sliced chicken breast, crunchy bacon, and fresh tomatoes, greens, and avocado. The contrast between the bite from the aioli on the inside of the sandwich and the sweet tartness of the balsamic drizzle on the outside was fun and unexpected. The kale caesar was very fresh with a great dressing. But for me the star was hands down the pea risotto. Perfectly creamy, vibrant green, and packed with fresh spring flavor. It appears they change up their risotto offering every so often, and it's gone now, but I will dream of that one until it appears again. Our server (maybe the owner?) thoughtfully split our sandwich onto two plates (hence why the photo only shows one half) and added the side of popcorn to both plates. A nice touch. The inside is a little small and dark though well-appointed. Their mini patio outside is crowded and uncomfortable. But they're doing their best with what the space they have. And truly the food is a standout in the area.

Driving to and from the Edmonds ferry terminal, I had noticed the exterior signage for Gyro Makers. I figured it was time to check it out since it had been open for over three months now (7/6/25). It is located in strip mall retail area with a shared parking lot, in between Bartell Drugs, the UPS Store and Ono Poké. There are a few two and four tops for onsite dining. I noticed they also do a fairly brisk takeout service. Welcoming folks at the ordering counter. There's a posted menu, as well as, a tri fold menu available to take with you. Nice selection of plate or wrap items, a la carte sides, salads, kids menu items, baklava, and chilled beverages too. There's even Turkish coffee and Arabic tea available. Since this was an all in one late breakfast-lunch-early dinner meal, we ordered the following: 1 gyro sandwich ($11.29), 1-12oz lentil soup ($6.49), 1 Arabic chicken shawarma ($12.49), and an order of Special Heroes Fries topped with lamb/beef, spices, and garlic sauce ($13.99). With tax and tip, it was under $57. First off the portion sizes are huge! Duly noted, fresh produce were used, which was greatly appreciated. Succulent and flavorful chicken and beef/lamb were generously used in the menu items. Lively spices and well prepared tzaziki and garlic sauces were evident. We left well fed and with ample leftovers to take home. Gyro Makers - a tasty find in Edmonds!

Gyro Plate - was starving after surviving on matcha for the day and this filled me up. Could be made into one and a half (or two) meals. Well balanced flavors, savory, salty, and slight sourness from the tomatoes and tzatziki. Rice was a bit plain underneath the layering and mixing didn't quite get all the grains. May benefit from some sauce immediately above the rice, sandwiched below meat but still very tasty.

Given the menu prices, we didn't expect to be seated so tightly between other groups that it felt like we were practically dining on top of each other. We could barely hear each other throughout the meal because another table was just inches away, and servers had to squeeze between the tables to take orders. When we were seated, I asked if we could move to an empty table nearby. The hostess explained that they typically don't seat two people at a four-top, which would have been understandable, except that one of the tables right next to us remained occupied by only two people for our entire meal. I wasn't looking for a special table--just a little more space to enjoy a conversation with my husband. We also had a reservation, so I expected the seating experience to be a bit more thoughtful. The food was perfectly fine, but the atmosphere and seating arrangement made it difficult to enjoy our date night. Overall, it felt like an overpromise-and-underdeliver experience, especially for the price point.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! Hot Dogs in Cars, and Managers Named "Robert" : A Hate Story…read more I have been a regular patron of The Rusty Pelican since I moved to Washington, just shy of 5 years ago. I take visiting loved ones and friends here, and I constantly extol the service and food to anyone who needs a recommendation for a breakfast spot in Edmonds. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN. The manager, Robert, showed sickening behavior. My partner and I were having breakfast out in front, when we noticed that a fellow patron had left their dog in the car on the sidewalk in front of our table. It was 60 degrees out, and completely sunny. The windows were barely cracked, and the dog was panting and straining its neck towards the venting of the window. We called our waiter over, who was incredibly sympathetic and horrified. He went inside to find the customer. We waited a few minutes longer, and then asked a second server to follow up (they were equally horrified and sympathetic). The second server also did not return. My partner went inside to seek help. It was at this point that they encountered Robert. My partner came out a few minutes later and explained what was happening: he had been in the process of denigrating the employees feelings about the matter, telling them to stop bothering customers and (essentially) quit acting like babies. "This isn't Arizona!" he exclaimed. When my partner asked to speak with him and tell him the situation, he was horrendously rude and confrontational, escalating each polite rebuttal with an agitating escalation of rudeness and denigration. My partner calmly explained that in these conditions, a car's interior temperature can rise to above 80 degrees in well under 30 minutes, not including stifling humidity. These conditions can cause an animal to pass out and die within a similar timeframe. At this point, it had been well over 30 minutes since the patron had parked. During all of this, he refused to even address my partner or look them in the eyes. It was absolutely unacceptable, and ultimately embarrassing for a grown man in a PAID CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED POSITION to treat anyone like that. To be clear: the entire staff were incredible. They came out to check on the dog a few times, and tried their best to confront the owner of the dog, but a certain manager was preventing them. They also apologized profusely, and showed a grace that is exemplary and frequently unseen in today's world. We learned several good lessons today: 1. We should have just called animal control right off the bat. The owner isn't going to learn their lesson without legal intervention, or lethal endings. Thankfully they left after about 40 minutes, and the dog seemed to be conscious. 2. I am never going to eat here again, as long as Robert is employed. He should be left in a hot car out front to teach him some perspective. I wouldn't call animal control for him though. 3. I am going to spend the rest of my days around Edmonds telling anyone who will listen this story. To Robert, if you read this: I hope nothing but bad things happen to you forever, and your behavior is inexcusable. You do not deserve to be employed. To anyone above Robert in a position of management or ownership: fire him. Quickly, and unceremoniously. Do it in front of the kind employees, as a treat. They had a familiar air of exasperation with Robert's behavior, telling me this is normal. And under no circumstances should it ever be. Shame on you Robert.

Im very sorry i have to be honest with my visit. I came yesterday and it's my first time visit this…read morerestaurant. The ambiance its making me super happy by the time we step in. very nice restaurant. The food its delicious. But im very sad with the service. The server asking if we want the drink to be on the rocks or not? And we said yes. But the drink dont come "on the rocks". So We ask the server with the beidge color shirt, and he said our drinks its on the rocks. While on the rocks means a drink is served over ice cubes. When our drink its served on beer glass with ice that already crush or shake together with the drink. If the drink dont come in options "on the rocks" we're totally okay. Maybe saying "my apologies, the drink don't come in options on the rocks, should i make a change" or anything. But the server with the beige shirt teaching us that our drinks is served "on the rocks". It looks like he's teaching us back about our order. while our server its the one giving us the options for that. I do feel embarrassed about this. But it's ok. This place its just not going to be to our recommendation because of the server. Also the server should not took the menu and read whats inside the dish in front of us. When i firm about what i order. I think we are very in awkward situation. The server should more knowledge about the menu more than us.
