First time at this restaurant. I went through the drive thru. Very friendly staff and the service was good. Prices are very reasonable. I orders the gyro meat plate with Greek salad. $18.78. They give enough food for one. Lots of meat. The meat was not hot (room temperature) and very salty to me. It did not have the seasonings like a typical gyro meat. It was also dry. I could not enjoy all of it just a few because it had too much salt , bit hot. The salad was good. The pita was hot and the rice was good. Overall no complaints. I give it a 4/5. Some people may like salty gyro (not myself) I still recommend this restaurant and location. Parking in the lot and easy in/out. I'll come again. Then I will try something different. read more

I drive by this place pretty frequently in my job, and since I love Mediterranean food (especially Greek food!) I have been wanting to stop in for a while now. I arrived about 15 minutes before close and even though it looked like they had pretty much closed the kitchen by the time I got there, they agreed to make me a gyro. Now, take this next piece with a grain of salt, but the meat was a little bit dry, but it also tasted amazing! But I want to come back when they're NOT at the end of the day because I would bet that it's pretty good. Super nice staff, cool atmosphere and decent prices. read more

Was hungry on a Monday for lunch. Drove by here. I remember them catering my dear brother's wedding many years ago Have fond memories of the great food. And, there was a harp player at the wedding, which filled my brother's face with emotions. Such a nice remembrance. Cafe Neo seems first a more drive in place. As you enter, you notice this focus.There is an active drive through window, with two staff concentrating on drive through customers. If you wish to dine in,you peruse the menu and order at the counter. The counter staff were helpful with the menu and welcoming. After ordering, you sit down in the small, but nicely decorated dining room. Very quiet. I ordered the roasted lamb plate, with rice, pita, lemon chicken soup and pita. The soup came first. Very nice chicken broth, with chunks of chicken in the soup. I would have liked a more pronounced lemon flavor in this soup as I am used to. Still, a great starter. The lamb, rice, pita and dip came next. At first I thought the servings were too small. But the lamb was great and had a homemade taste. Rice was flavorful and had feta on top. Pita was warm and paired well with Tzatziki dip. One of the more flavorful dips of tzatziki I have had. Really a flavorful lunch. Galaktoboureko is one of my favorite Greek desserts and so happy to see this on the menu. Their version was less custard and less dense. Been going to this place for years, has been through multiple changes in ownership, but remains fairly consistent throughout. May be colored by nostalgia, but I think this is a great spot for lunch or dinner, some favorites are the Souvlaki Combo, large Greek Salad, and the Gyros. Maybe it's my fault for going in the drive through but our order was absolutely terrible. I'm a frequent eater at the Mill Creek location and this was like a total different restaurant. I love their bacon wrapped dates, the ones we got were so burnt they couldn't be eaten. It was comical. They always were heavy on the lettuce but this time my friend who got the regular gyro had 3 small pieces of meat and MOUNDS of lettuce. For the price I won't be back to this location. read more

A great place for Greek food and casual dining! I came here on a weekday for lunch and it was not busy at all. For food, you must order at the register and find a table to sit down at. I ended up ordering the grilled chicken plate with calamari. The chicken plate was very fairly portioned and came with a choice of side. The calamari was also pretty good and I would definitely order it again next time. The service was great! Waitress was very friendly upon ordering. I'm docking one star for clean up since when I arrived, I noticed several dirty tables even though they did not seem busy. For drinks, it's self serve to the right of the register near the restrooms. I used to love Kafé Neo, I was a repeat customer for over 10 years. Recently when I have ordered I received regular pita when I said I needed gluten free due to an allergy. I was told it was in-deed gluten free which we later found out was not true. Wont be returning again. read more

Food is delicious and served in great quantities. There were so many vegetarian options. We ordered a bunch of share plates and were able to try the gigante beans, hummus plate, grape leaves, and one of the dips. The hummus wasn't my favorite that I've ever had, but everything else was fantastic. Music was a little louder than I'd prefer, but otherwise the ambiance was fine. The only complaint is that service was slow - food came very quickly after we ordered, but it took forever for anyone to come take our order in the first place, check on us to know we wanted the bill, and then actually return to grab the credit card (which we left sitting out very obviously so that the server could easily see wed dropped our card). read more

So.. qualifier to my review.. I love greek food, I used to go to one in Victoria all the time. One of my gauges or fun greek food is ordering saganaki and retsina. If they bring the saganaki to the table and flame it there.. Normally will like that greek restaurant... Restaurants that have good food, good service and a bit of fun are a win for me. The food was okay just smaller portions for what you pay and the girl with dark hair at the register wasn't very friendly and straight up looked like she didn't want to be there (which I get) but that doesn't justify crappy customer service. The vibe was weird and it felt like she was burdened by being there. When I was a kid, my parents would give me money to pick-up Greek salads with grilled chicken from Kale Neo. That was many years ago - probably the 1980's. Since those days, our extended family and friends have made this our "go to" place for delicious Greek food. Our family orders a variety of dishes to share including gyros, the dinner combination plates with extra veggies, the calamari appetizer (generally 2-3 of these for the table), the lemon chicken soup, the chicken Greek salad with extra olives, and the warm pita bread on the side. This place is really friendly and you lose track of time as you catch up with family and friends for an hour or two. Just like I've experienced in Europe - not rushed like in America often happens. For dessert we often order a few different items and share bites - tiramisu, spanakopita (sp?), etc. If you're up north of Seattle near Lynnwood / Edmonds, check this place out or one of their other locations. This location is the original, I think. We've ordered from this place often, via drive through. It's been years since we've dined inside but I remember it to be nicer and cleaner inside, than it appears outside. Dining area has a light cafe vibe with warm hues and decor. Some of the best tasting gyros around; more of a restaurant (with an extensive Greek menu) than a street/fast food style spot. The food is a lil pricey, tab adds up quick. Drive through service is quick. My only complaint is that our food is always warm, not piping hot. So we always have to either eat in the car or reheat when we get home (and we don't live far at all), we only order one side of Greek fries now. We've just learned Kafe Neo is owned by the same company that owns Demetrios in Edmonds and Tablas in Mill Creek, which are both more upscale favorites of ours! read more

Good for casual Greek Dining. The interior was pleseant enough as was the wait staff. I was really excited they had GF pita so I was able to order a falafel Gyro, something I do not normally order. It was good, not great. My sister had the basic Gyro. She eats/ccoks alot of Mediterranean food so her standards are high. She said it was decent, but could use a little more flavor. Overall good, not great. But I would come back as the options for dine in Mediterranean is pretty lacking in the area. read more

This breaks my heart. I'm not sure how this location has lasted this long, but I agree with a lot if the current reviews. I ordered a chicken gyro. There was not enough chicken to be in every bite. At first glance, the shredded lettuce was wilted and the sauce hidden underneath it. The lentil soup was fine, bit luke warm. My husbands greek salad had a tiny ramekin of dressing and a 2oz portion of cold, overcooked, chicken breast on top. It only had 1 bell pepper ring, 2 olives, & a couple pieces of sad tomatoes. I have been enjoying Kafe Neo - Edmonds since the mid-1990s and in all that time I never experienced disappointment with your food or service until my most recent order. On 01/27/2024, I placed an online order (order #56) and not one item from that order came close to the quality I have grown to expect from your establishment. I ordered 3 gyros all with extra meat; only one of the gyros received with my order contained the extra meat I paid for. In hindsight, the lack of extra meat was probably a blessing; the chicken and standard gyro meat were tough and dry. Some of the chicken strips were like chewing leather, I threw away several pieces after being unable to chew them. The rosemary potatoes were rock hard / undercooked; most of which went down the disposal. I really hope this experience was a one-off blip in your quality standard. I hate to think I will not be able to purchase the same quality food at Kafe Neo - Edmonds ever again. That would truly be disappointing. Please do better by returning to your former quality standard. read more

This place is decent. The food is certainly served in the right portions, but the flavors are just adequate. Not exactly on point for what I am used to, but not bad. I really do like that they have varieties of gyro sandwiches that you probably wouldn't have thought of. Since the late 1970's, I have been a fan of the gyro sandwich, having been introduced to it from a street vendor at the University that I went to. I remember it vividly to this very day that I could not believe the flavors that my mouth was full of at the first bite. So it's always been the gyro sandwich for me, although I can eat falafel if it's not too dry, shwarma, and other types of Greek food. And I do like baklava when it is not overly sweet. Basically this it's a restaurant that I'll stop at if it's on my way and I feel like Greek food, but I won't go out of my way to go there. They do have a Kafe Neo restaurant opening in Kingston which is where I live. So since it's good enough in all the other locations that I've tried I will definitely patronize the restaurant. read more

I used to frequent all of these locations but hadn't been in for a couple years. To my surprise my gyro salad was $16 when I went to pick it up which seems a little extreme. The meat was delicious but the lettuce was not up to par especially for the price. It was a little disappointing after having craving for a good gyro. The restaurant itself is cute and the staff was nice but not sure I'll be going out of my way again to come here. read more

Are you guys freaking serious? We ordered a Spicy Garlic Shrimp among other items for "to go" and was excited to get home to dig into my shrimp. Oh boy was I hugely disappointed. This is what a $13 Spicy Garlic Shrimp gets you 6 mediocre sized pieces of shrimp. All the other dishes everybody seemed to like and were decent portions, but come on folks! This dish should be less than $10 or at least come with a small portion of rice on the side to complement it. Kafe Neo is the most bland, disgusting food I've ever had. You know those communal wafers you get in church? That tastes better than anything my friend and I got last night. My friend Kiara was ecstatic to try Kafe Neo, so that's where we went for dinner last night (8/23/20) in Edmonds. We both love Greek food and we've both had bad Greek food before, but bad Greek food at least had flavor. Absolutely everything that Kafe Neo served to us was bland; we had no idea that it was possible to mess up Greek Food this bad! When we were full (we ate because we don't waste food), it wasn't the good kind of full; it was the type that made us squeamish and grossed out. The fries were old and very greasy; frozen fries taste better. Heck, frozen fries that are still frozen taste better! The fry sauce was feta on top of a small layer of ketchup and the ketchup was at the bottom. Upon ordering I let the server know (Sierra P) that I am allergic to tomatoes and asked what was in the fry sauce. She said it's just feta. Nothing else, just feta. I'm like, cool, let's do it. She brings it over and says that she forgot that they put ketchup in the bottom and asked what I'd like to do. Well, it's already made, so Kiara can have it; and that's when I ordered the lemon aioli. Here's the thing - they charge $1 for their sauces. But the $1 lemon "aioli" is just mayonnaise. Straight mayonnaise. They add a bit of lemon juice to call it something else, but the mayo flavor is very overpowering and the lemon is so subtle it's like they added a single drop to it. I like mayo, but I don't like getting duped. The spanakopita is something Kiara and I were really looking forward to. But it had NO CHEESE! A feta and spinach phyllo pie had no cheese!! And, it tasted like cardboard. I am not exaggerating here; it was so bland. We both checked in with each other and when we both agreed on the taste, we just couldn't stop talking about how bad the food was and how disappointed we were. Her husband had went earlier that day for lunch and didn't tell her how bad the food was, so she was texting him and teasing him for not warning her. The chicken bowl is what she ordered. It came with beets, chickpeas, and kale; it looked very aesthetically pleasing and yummy, but the looks is the only thing that it had going for it. It was also bland and grotesque, so bad that she wouldn't even give the rest to her dog. It's supposed to be healthy, but nothing that we ate was worth the calories in the least. The rosemary potatoes tasted bland as well; there was no hint of rosemary nor were there any indication that there was any rosemary. My entree was the Veggie Gyro, that had brie and avocado. Brie was the first ingredient and I love brie, so I chose that gyro because of the brie alone. I thought, 'brie makes everything taste good, so I can't go wrong here'. After eating it halfway, I realized there wasn't any brie!! I called the server and she asked if I'd like to get some to add to it, and I said yes. She went to the back and came out with feta, and said that the "cook never added brie because we don't have any". It;s the first ingredient!! The very least that should have been done is for the cook to have informed the server so the server could've informed me, and given me opportunity to pick something else. I just asked that whatever the cost of the brie to be deducted from the bill. I just felt like this was all too ridiculous. The server did deduct the brie from the bill (she actually just charged us for the regular gyro since that's what I ended up receiving) and the greek fries. Kiara paid and tipped her 20%. DO NOT EAT AT KAFE NEO IN EDMONDS!! THE FOOD IS REVOLTINGLY BLAND!! I have never had more bland food in my life. There is no semblance of taste or spices or anything. I ended up putting the mayo (err, "lemon aioli") onto the gyro to give it some type of flavor profile. Kiara hates mayo and still had to add it to her dish just to make it have some sort of taste. All in all, this is the worst Greek food and Greek restaurant in the country. And I've had Greek food around the US. This is the absolute worst. How it has not been on Kitchen Nightmares yet is beyond me. read more

I almost never post a poor review, but this was exceptionally unpleasant. My husband and I ate at Kafe Neo a few years ago. We didn't love it and just never went back. This evening it is our anniversary, and after a long day at work I still wanted something celebratory for dinner. The pictures from Kafe Neo on Amazon Prime looked tasty so I decide to try it again. Positives: The food arrived promptly. The fries, which I ordered extra crispy, were perfect. (This is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.) The peanut butter cookie was very good- soft with just the right amount of sugary crunch outside. The Lemon Cake was creamy, lemony and delicious. Problems: -My Sparta Pork Gyro was terrible! It had a very unpleasant fishy taste. I'm allergic to fish, so ended up spitting it out and not eating it. My husband also took a bite and agreed that it tasted bad. -My husband's lamb plate was bland, and the rice was covered in way too much feta cheese. He ate it but said he would not ever order it again. -The kreatopita were beautiful to look at but had very little flavor. We didn't eat them all. -On the menu, the dark chocolate cheesecake sounds like it will be a rich dark chocolate with a hint of coffee. In reality it wasn't very rich or chocolatey and I didn't taste coffee. It was dense rather than the creamy texture I expected in a cheesecake. It wasn't worth the calories so I only ate a couple bites. I ate very little of this meal. I will have to scrounge in my kitchen to find something to complete my dinner. Value plays a major component in giving this place five stars. You don't necessarily expect a heck of a lot from a place on highway 99 that sits next to a roadhouse with a big neon rabbit sign. Not that places should get dinged for their neighbors' aesthetic sensibilities--moreso that it's just not a stretch of commercial venues that inspires a lot of optimistic curiosity. Kafe Neo rocks though. Evidently, they were maybe a little hesitant to embrace a full sit-down model after succeeding in the rather different approach of their first store. Their first store is counter service, and is, rumor has it, always packed. This store has a host station and table service, but also has big deli cases and a coffee bar. It's a cool corner restaurant in the old community tradition, with all the amenities. And it doesn't look dated at all. In fact, it looks quite modern. The staff is nice, and I'd be willing to bet that coffee is good, though I haven't tried it, so I am only speculating. And the desserts looked pretty awesome. But what really stood out was the meal. Great spreads with the pita points as an appetizer. Fantastic chicken, and awesome dolmades. Everything was beautifully prepared, everything showed up hot with no sign of dryness, all the veggies had snap to them. Everything about the experience from the people through to the price has made this a permanent part of my dining-out regimen. I especially love that it's close to my place...south snohomish county isn't quite the food wasteland I had feared when I moved here, but every truly great place is precious. read more

This is an okay Greek restaurant for sure. Their food tastes good and looks good, I just wish I would get more of it for the price. I paid $5 for some baklava and about $9 for a gyro; the portions are too poor. Baklava = tasty, homemade, just the right amount of sweetness, good slightly crunchy texture; gyro = proper ratio of meat to condiments, could use more feta (especially since they charge extra for feta), great tasting meat. There is really nothing else to complain about. When I got there, there was a cashier training a new person on how to check someone out, and the person who had worked there for a while seemed nice enough. The premises are clean and look smart.
