They did more than what was needed ( oil change etc) when 5 star had just switched the oil last month) Charged them for way more than what was asked for. Also, they didnt even FIX the damn problem. They are high pressure pests and they readily take advantage when they know someone is under a timeline to get things done because of insurance restrictions. That results in some very unpleasant after-effects...especially when under 100 miles get driven in that great little reliable car they sold you has the "check engine" light come on and their response is "well, it is a 2003 car." OK, so what else happened in the 50K miles on the odometer to make it a less than reliable vehicle that you hid from me? The temporary registration is nearing expiration, so I called the state licensing office only to find out the dealer has had my plates for a month and never bothered to let me know!! We went through Jeff and Carlos to get our 2017 jeep Cherokee trail hawk. We did the standard back and forth that comes with car buying, but in the end we got a great deal and beautiful car. There were a few paint problems, but they suggested a great place for some food while they evaluated them, and when we got back they realized they would need a bit of time to fix them. I contacted the service department on May 3rd and received a voicemail that all individuals were busy and to leave a message. I left a message with my phone number and asking about the part for the recall at 3:00pm in the afternoon. Tonight is May 4th and no one has contacted me. I contacted the Ford dealership in Olympia and my email was immediately returned by phone. The parts were available and my appointment was scheduled at the day and time I requested. Had my car worked on by their service department (still in there now). I was told 4 days for the original job to be finished (new bumper and air bag harness). I was given the run around for 7 WEEKS!! Nobody ever had any clue what was going on. Never got a return phone call after being told they'd "call right back." Each day I went in, They would have to ask around to find out what was going on with my car. I was given more than 10 different days that my car would be done just for it to be delayed yet again. After 7 weeks I finally got it back! Thankfully the folks at the Collision Repair Shop understood the lack of ability from the service department and gave me a rental for the final couple weeks. Drove my car less than 100 miles and it left me stranded on the side of the road for the first time in the 5 years I've had it. Called Five Star back and was told they would tow it from my house to their shop, a total of maybe 3 miles, so they could see if it was something they may have done/Not done. Next day I get told it was nothing they did so now I have to pay the towing, diagnostic fee, part fee, and labor fee. I was told they would have my car back to me next day or the 2nd day. On day 2 I called and was notified the guy who orders parts (apparently they only have 1) wasn't in so the part wouldn't be there for yet another week. Today is that week. Did i get my car back? Nope. They ordered the wrong part!! So now I have to wait again. How long till the parts in? "Tomorrow" they say. We will see! I'm sick and tired of being given the finger every time I call and ask about my own car that they have had since June 4th! It is now August 16th. Made an appoint for brake job online for 0930 on 7/21/21 Monday Morning. When I got there they told me they couldn't provide service till August. They tried to tell me they called. They did 13 minutes before my appointment when I had already arrived at the dealership. I have bought quite a few cars there but never again. Last time we tried to buy a car there we found the car we wanted and they didn't have a key for it. Then told us it would take weeks to get one and would be be interested in a different car. Phenomenal, exceptional, awesome, helpful, painless and easy aren't words you would normally hear when describing a dealer experience but trust me my sales team at Rich Hartman's Five Star Dealerships in Aberdeen, Washington were that and more. I was looking for a 2018 Lincoln Navigator to replace our old minivan (something nice for my wife to drive) and came across a very well-equipped low mile Navigator at Five Star Fold Lincoln. I figured I'd just call them and see what the details were on the SUV. I call and started up a conversation with Pat Noll at the dealership and just chatted about the SUV, why it was leased for only a year (owners' daily driver) and other pertinent information. Pat was open and answered all my questions without trying what I call the dealer conversation (monthly payment, etc.). I finally got to the point and told Pat what I was willing to pay for the Navigator, he didn't seem phased and simply let me know that he'd call the dealership owner and ask if he would accept my offer, simple as that. About an hour later I get a call from Pat, and he lets me know that we have a deal (remember the easy word above). So, we go through the normal conversation about a car deal. I tell him I'm going to finance through my own bank, once again; no, "well you should finance through us;" he simply asks what interest rate I was getting, tells me he probably can't match that and proceeds to getting everything handled. At this point he needs to hand me over to one of the financial managers and I think, uh oh, here we go. I get handed over to Bud Erickson and all my fears are alleviated very quickly. Pat has briefed Bud on the car, the financial information and the agreed deal. Bud runs me through the numbers, doesn't even try to up-sell me on anything and emails me a contract with nothing more on it than Five Star's standard document fee (clearly documented on their website) and a trip permit fee to drive the SUV back from Washington to California. Pickup day comes; the dealership sends a driver to pick me and my wife up from the airport. We get to the dealership and within an hour we're in the SUV driving around doing some sightseeing in Seattle. I could go on forever but I want to be really clear! I can't reiterate how great Rich Hartman's Five Star Dealerships, Pat Noll and Bud Erickson were to buy a car from. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this dealership and their sales team to anyone, which is why I'm writing this review. Everything was seamless from start to finish. You can't go wrong trusting these guys. On a quick side note, I didn't even look at the SUV before I purchased it. I know it sounds stupid, but the number of pictures that they provided to me and the description provided the sight picture I needed. The Navigator exceeded my expectations when I picked it up. They even included new floor mats while leaving the older, almost new ones in the SUV, new wireless headphones and a myriad of perks I was surprised at. I dropped in on my way to a visit with family in Westport due to an atrocious flapping noise under & outside the passenger area at highway speeds. After maybe 20 minutes on the lift, the gentleman showed me a photo of what the culprit was, how they remedied it, and instructed me kindly what to do (this was not a domestic vehicle) if the problem persists. However, it has been two MONTHS and the noise has yet to present itself again. I couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism, speed, and ease of getting in and out with two young children during a 4 hour road trip. My husband and I recently purchased a certified used car from this dealership. The whole process was great. I was very surprised. The salesperson, Eddie Watters, was fantastic. He was very patient with us as we weren't even sure what we wanted. We probably test drove at least 10 different cars. He was very patient, listened to what we were saying and if we had a question and he didn't know the answer, he didn't make something up. He found out the information and got back to us. He is one of the best car salesmen I have ever dealt with. There was never any high pressure tactics to purchase a car. Once we found the car we wanted, the whole sales process went very smoothly. They actually did a great job of saving us money. The finance manager, Nick Thornburg, was great as well. He got us an even lower interest rate than what the sales person quoted us! I just want to tell everyone our experience with Five Star in Aberdeen was terrific. We were traveling thru with a motor home (Ford Chassis) our check engine light come on. We went to an Auto Zone and had them diagnose the problem. Said it's a primary coil. We have no tools, not prepared to work on it. We stopped at the dealership on Sunday. The sales team was very upbeat and said come in first thing in the morning. They said we are really good at getting people in and back on the road. The service department (I've always used the one at 711 Wishkah Street in Aberdeen but was unable to find a listing on Yelp for it) at Five Star is simply the best there is. I drive all of the way over from Seattle (and have done so for several years now) in order to have all of the service and any necessary repair work done on my car at this service department because they are, hands down, the most competent, professional, honest and courteous service department anywhere. I have searched in vain for anything comparable in my area and it simply doesn't exist. Hence, I make the 2-hour each way round trip specifically because it is so important for me to have my car serviced properly and by knowledgeable, reputable people whom I can trust. Yeah, others have courtesy shuttles but if your car is gone for a few days like mine was, shuttles aren't going to work. How are you going to get to the grocery store? The manager was great.
