The best chicken wings in Stanley County! Great service. If you are in the Norwood area, stop in for some great food.

We had beef and broccoli with tons of both broccoli and beef with a side of fried rice included. The next table ordered just the fried rice as an entree. It tasted great. Wonderful egg rolls, pork, shrimp or veggie. Then there is the Mongolian beef, hot hot hot. You can remove the fiery chilies to moderate the fire. Great taste with lots of beef. It comes with white rice. They even have sweet tea for a little Southern charm. Bottled soft drinks. The lunch menu is extensive. The regular menu is hugh. ENJOY!

**First off- I dislike the food at JinJin in Locust- this is NOT the same place: has a different,…read morebetter menu.** Chinese food- especially soup- is comfort food to me. Even American-style Chinese food (ACF). This place was a strong win for ACF for us- including great food portion size, quality, price & all. Got a summer cold & wanted soup within reasonable driving distance. (The places closest to us are unappetizing or grossly unclean- not this place!) Chose this location for its variety of soups & fuller menu. Order was: an egg drop wonton soup (soothing and filling) a hot and sour soup (quality ingredients) crab rangoon (wonton cream cheese crisps with sizeable side of dipping sauce) and a truly EXCELLENT spicy sweet orange beef. ***Healthy portion sizes for the price*** Spouse commented that the entree was almost all beef with a little broccoli & that the beef was not "weird"- that's high praise. I could see red chili pepper slivers & orange peel along with the minimal broccoli. Nice flavors. Ambiance: Was not the one who picked up the meal but heard it was more of a to-go rather than sit down place. Service: Very friendly in-store service & ordering over the phone was easy, quick. I value an easy phone call over using an app to order when pics of food are not available online. Note: we took no pics bc we were just that hungry. But I will take pics next time for y'all. And there will be a next time...just less soup!

This should have been my signal to change over to the Sushi bar up the street. Asked for very spicy Hot & Sour soup but tasted like dull beef broth with a few floaters of tofu & 4 sliced mushrooms! Their shrimp fried rice tasted like yesterday leftovers. Chicken with veggies was also a major disappointment - glue like sauce which had too much corn starch thickener. We got shorted an order of spring rolls - no great loss given the lackluster taste of the balance ordered. They need better air circulation as my clothes smelled like I had personally cooked the crap myself. In retrospect should have listened to my wife & rolled out for the California rolls!

They used to have very good bone-in spare ribs, but I haven't seen that available lately, I don't like their boneless. Good soup. The potstickers are OK. The dough is thick and gloopy and I don't like it, but the filling is quite good. Eggrolls are fine pretty much the same as you can find in most Chinese restaurants throughout the country. I like the shrimp lobster sauce. They do that extremely well and all their shrimp dishes have pretty large shrimp which taste quite fresh. Pork dishes are good. Food is prepared very fast. Considering all things, it's the best you're going to get around here and throughout most of the southern part of the United States, so unless you're in Chinatown in San Francisco or New York, this is a good place for standard American Chinese food. I'll put in the updated price list (menu pics) which is higher than it used to be, but quite honestly a very good value as you can see. It deserves three or four stars, but considering that it is the best around, let's just give it five stars which also means that I will be back. Take out only, or maybe you can eat in here, but your car in the parking lot has better Decor anyway.

Lots of the usual Americanized Chinese items including baked seafood, beef & broccoli, fried green beans, fried pork in batter, chicken wings, lo mein, battered meat in a sweet sauce and yes, a reasonable display of sushi rolls though most were covered in sauce. The restaurant is clean, the steam tables were tidied often and refilled, my waitress cleared dirty dishes and refilled my water. I'm stuffed! It all started with missing white rice…read more I had been working all day and hadn't consumed Chinese food in about a year. I love Chinese food but I have been paying off debt like Al Capone wanted his loan-shark money back, which led to me going from 27.3k to currently 1.8k on my Discover within a year. This background is to let you know why I haven't been eating a lot of Chinese food. It has nothing to do with sodium. But this is about wonton soup, sesame chicken, lo mein, white rice, and a drunk guy (not me). All of the food items listed above were solid. And they are always solid across the board. I wouldn't put this restaurant as #1 for any of those individual items in Lake Norman but I do put them #1 for all food as a whole. In other words, Jin Jin has the best wonton soup but you only get four wontons and they aren't as good at other stuff, and it just doesn't seem as clean--Huang's Chef is impeccably clean. Huang's China Bistro in Cornelius has the best sesame chicken but their lo mein and wonton soup aren't quite as good (still very good though). Lotus on River Hwy (Rt 150) has the best lo mein but not quite as good on the other stuff (but still very good). Huang's Chef (Mooresville) is a solid 9.0 across the board so it's where I order most. But the time prior to this one, I drove all the way to Huntersville and they forgot my white rice. This isn't a major issue but it kind of does ruin the experience after spending $30 for one person on dinner. Fortunately, they gave me a free pint of wonton soup the next time I went in. I was so excited to eat their food again that I ordered when driving by and had to wait. While outside and thinking I was alone on the strip-mall sidewalk, I practiced pronouncing "Huang's Chef." In order to do it, you need to inhale 5% on the "Huah" sound and exhale 95% on the "Wang" sound. I was getting good at it and repeating, "Huah-Wang's Chef ... Huah-Wang's Chef" while pacing, but a dude from from Marty's Bar popped out to smoke a cigarette and looked at me funny. "Just practicing," I said while nodding to indicate all was normal. "For what?" he laughed. I could tell he was one of those friendly drunk guys. "Huah-Wang's Chef." He walked over to cut the distance between us in half and laughed while taking a drag of his cigarette. Tall and skinny guy mid-60s with scruff and loose clothes that fit his personality. "Huah-Wong's Chef," he said. "No," I corrected. "It's Wang." "No it ain't," he cackled. "It's Wong." "That would be the Cantonese version. That's not correct." "I don't eat cantaloupes." He just started cracked up at his own joke, which wasn't funny, but then funny because of how much he enjoyed it. Then he continued, "What if we just put it together and start our own Chinese restaurant called Wang-Wong!" Bar guys always talk about things like this but know they will never follow through, and I didn't want to start a Wang-Wong Chinese restaurant with a scruffy-looking drunk guy. I had the perfect out anyway because Huang's Chef told me 15 minutes and it was about that time. "Good to meet you, but I have to go get my food now at Huah-WANG'S Chef." "Wong!" he cackled again as I walked away. Anyway, I definitely recommend Huang's Chef. It's a good price with solid portions and quality taste across the board. The restaurant itself is one of the cleanest Chinese restaurants I have ever seen, which is always a good sign. Definitely recommended.
