Me and my fiancé went to Huang's Chef restaurant last week and we weren't impressed at all, we sat down and it took 10 minutes or more for someone to take our drink order, the waiter could hardly speak English and was hard to understand. The food we both had was Luke warm and not very hot, so we weren't sure if it was fixed fresh or not? We were very disappointed after driving for a long time to get to this restaurant. Please serve hot and fresh food in the future. We won't be back, not impressed. This is my personal opinion. read more

This is the best Chinese takeout in the Mooresville area in my humble opinion. We get takeout from here at least once a month. I love the Hot and Sour soup and the General Tso's Chicken. We also regularly get the Scallion Chicken and the Lo Mein (pork or chicken) and all sorts of Fried Rice. Everything we get is great! To check the box I will say the service is great but we only get takeout so ... we pay, we take, good job. One not I would add is that the fried rice tends to be a little dry and doesn't "stick" very well. read more

We ordered dinner tonight from Huang Chef and normally they are AMAZING, but today my wife ordered Mongolian Chicken and got 80% onions. This picture is after she pulled all the chicken out, but you should be able to get a feel for the ratio of Chicken to Onions based on what's left in the bowl. I have been going here for years, last week I went for lunch and the my meal had 2 pieces of chicken. Good thing I wasn't too hungry. Tonight I ordered hibachi chicken, egg drop soup, wonton soup, and an egg roll - 27.00!! But here is why I will never go back and may call the health department. (1) I got home (down the road) all the food was "ice cold ". The soup like it came from the fridge. The chicken didn't taste right, didn't look right, and ice cold. Even the egg roll was cold.. I happened to notice roaches by the area you pick up your food.. They have no help, a little boy who is very mature and god bless his soul for helping his family, but he is maybe 12 years old waiting tables, taking orders, checking out people. That should not be. Stay away , the place had it day but no more! Update!!! It's been 40 minutes that the few pieces I did try to eat, and I am literally sick as dog, massive stomach ache and bathroom trips. Just went by to get some soup and lo mein tonight. I have a hard time finding a good Chinese restaurant, but I looked up the best lo mein in Mooresville and this was the first one that was suggested. The atmosphere is extremely nice compared to other Chinese restaurants/takeout and was very welcoming. The service was quick, and once I got home to try everything I was very very impressed. I'm definitely going to have to tell my family to come here since they have the same problem with finding a good Chinese restaurant! read more

Cheap lunch eats! I got the sacha shrimp with fried rice and egg roll for just under $7 off of their lunch menu. Not super generous portions, but it's enough to get you full. This place has become our go to for Chinese food. It's close by, the food is consistently good service is friendly and quick and the prices are reasonable. The dining room looks spacious and enough seating for big parties however we have never eaten there, it's always been take out. We use to drive 20 minutes to eat decent Chinese food, now that we have tried Huang Chef we got a new go to place closer to the house. read more

Really good Chinese cuisine in a nice setting. They have great lunch specials that are very reasonably priced and it is honestly a lot of food. On our visit, we had Mushroom Chicken and Orange Chicken. The mushroom chicken was a little light on flavor and the chicken did have chewy pieces, but still a good dish. My son enjoyed the Orange chicken and said it was spicy. He ordered the soup as his side dish, which he enjoyed and I ordered the salad with ginger dressing. I love the ginger's astringent quality and this was a good version. Can't wait to visit again! read more

We've eaten here before and liked the food but our recent visit was disappointing. The egg rolls were good but the sauce for my Egg Foo Young was extremely salty. The Chicken Chow Mein was good. The forks and knives on the table were dirty and needed to be wiped clean. The biggest turn-off was the restaurant itself - it needs a major overhaul. The vinyl seats were cracked, the ceiling tiles were stained and we sat in a window seat and although the shades were drawn, the air conditioning was no match for the heat coming from outside. The lower portion of the window was painted black and the paint was peeling. There was one woman (I think she was the owner) who handled all of the service by herself and did a good job. read more

been here a few times by invitation and I'm back again for more of the same. not really sure why we're not here more often except maybe because I don't want to hear about how the general is not my friend (supposedly he's trying to kill me with deliciousness and maybe MSG, but whatever.) so today was scallion chicken (which is a lot like dining with the general except scallion-er) plus rice and soup... some people will whine about how it's not "real chinese food" but that's kinda the point: they're here, their pots and pans are here, there's vegetables and other food stuff here, so let's eat!! anyway, iced water and hot tea. then out comes a bowl of fried wontons plus a bit of hot mustard on request, house made duck sauce is on the table if you want. the wonton soup gets a blast of soy sauce to make me happy and it's followed shortly by lightly breaded chickens and chopped scallion in a dark sauce with a medium size pile o' white rice on the side! yea!! could I use a little more rice? yes... but that would also be true if they brought out a dinner plate full of rice. me and rice are BFFs if eating your BFF is a thing. oh, and don't forget to pick up a cookie on the way out. nice :-) read more

Absolutely disgusting food after a very long wait. I love Chinese food and always look forward to an elegant mix of spices and sauces, giving gentle hints to the main star which is the meats and vegetables. They flipped flipped this one and miserably failed. The sauce hid all aspects of the flavor of the meat and vegetables. What is supposed to be the side star, an egg roll, was soggy and not crisp. On the bright side though, the hot and sour soup was good. read more

My spouse and I love this place. It's not as close as many Chinese restaurants in the area, but it's well worth driving a few extra miles. I love the hot and sour soup and mu shu pork. My spouse always gets egg fu yung and some dishes loaded with garlic sauce. The restaurant is pretty good about making food to order, so even if something is not on the menu, you can ask them for it (my spouse does that all the time), and they always come through. Note: they get huge kudos for the way they handled the restaurant shut-down during the worst of the COVID pandemic. They had a sophisticated way of taking your order and leaving your food in bags outside the door. It was so terrific having our favorite Chinese restaurant available during the restaurant shut-down. read more
