Worst experience I have ever had with an auto shop. They had my vehicle for 5 months. I understand parts can be a challenge to locate. Even so..I called every two weeks after 2 months and got a different story every time. In the meantime they made it completely undrivable. Had it towed to another shop who said they could have it done in 3 weeks. Got honest answers from them on day 1. Fix denied having received any payments from insurance company until I sent them copies of cancelled checks with their name on it. Now they want to charge me parts restocking fees-- not at their cost but at a markup. They are crooks. read more

Took a week to get estimate which was well over others and they could not get work done for over two months.

I used them before at two other locations which is why I came back. Didn't het updates and the receptionist told me I didn't have a deductible since I replaced my tires prior to bringing f my car into the shop... 30 days later they were conflicted about my deductible even though they have my car back to me... I also had to bring my car back ... was too much back in forth for under $5,0000 in damages. They didn't even tell me they took my car to the mechanic and it was sitting there for a few days... bottom line I o my had a rental for 30 days from my insurance plan and ended up paying an extra 7 days... Oh sis I mention it was under $5,000 with of work. If they don't service BMW's normally they should have said so. They claimed they called the dealer for Assistance but the dealer couldn't confirm it I wouldn't recommend! Too much bullshit read more

I tried to find a place in the area that could repair it the same day but no one had the part on hand to do a job that quick. Do you think b/c my name is Heather and not Hank I don't know what a tire pressure gauge is? Come on people. Fix Auto South Seattle was 4 days late, after their own deadline, because they said they "couldn't find a tire pressure gauge" so they couldn't do the alignment work. Incredibly, their customer service rep tried to blame me, saying the pencil tire pressure gauge in my car didn't work. I reminded her that there are at least 3 stores where they could buy one for $4. Actually, I just googled one for $2.99 at Harbor Freight, 2 blocks away from Fix Auto South Seattle. Then a mechanic emailed me saying it would take another 2 days because "There are no body techs, detailer or support staff on Saturdays. Sorry." Then 2 days later the excuse was: "Les Schwab hasn't gotten to the alignment yet." If Fix Auto's staff and/or subcontractors aren't done with work on my vehicle by their own deadline, then it's their responsibility to pay overtime to have it done on time. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 is because the body work was fine. read more

As another yelper said, repair shops are never a place you want to be... My truck got broken into, and I was devastated. Not only to have to repair a window, but to have to watch a dog to ensure he didn't jump out AND all of my clothes were stolen. Needless to say, it wasn't my best day ever. Alki Auto Body was *Fan-tas-tik. The shop was clean and the staff was personable. The manager (owner?) was super calm and explanatory of the steps. He handled me (and my dog) with amazing professionalism and courtesy and kindness, and really stopped any further escalation of dumb-dumb-dayism. They vacuumed out my truck immediately, and he showed an honest and kind interest in my dog not hurting himself... and scheduled an appointment for the glass within minutes of my arrival. And, in the end, knowing that my deductible was high, and my day had been so rotten, he recommended that I go to the glass place myself and have them do it, because it would be cheaper for me than my deductible. He scored himself a customer for life, and a recommendation from me for anyone who needs body work done. He could have easily made more money off of my insurance company, but he was honest and kind. You can't ask for more than that from a business owner. If you need any repairs done to your damaged vehicle, Alki Auto Body is where I would recommend you go. read more

All 4 times I was not the party at fault and the at fault parties insurance covered all repairs. Fix auto has consistently provided excellent service. They even arranged for a car rental for me to use while my vehicle was being repaired and they also emailed and called me to keep me informed of the status of my vehicle. When Fix Auto originally looked at my vehicle they thoroughly examined all outer damage but also investigated and noted potential possible inner damage. Later when they removed the damaged parts they were able to confirm further internal damage had occurred that couldn't be seen from the outside. I trust Fix Auto. I believe they have my best interest at hand and I will continue to use and recommend this auto body shop because all 4 times they have done an excellent job fixing my vehicles. read more

I just picked up my car from Alki Auto Body and I'm over the moon with what an incredible job they did. My parked car had a hit and run, leaving my 2 drivers side doors bent in. After wrestling with my insurance, I immediately opted for Alki. I've taken it there before with little dings and a bumper issue. The results? My car looks better than it did brand new. Work with Oscar, he's very upfront, matter of fact and, yes, honest. You won't feel hassled with these pro's. This certainly wasn't the first time I've been in a fender bender but it was certainly the quickest and most customer-service focused experience I've encountered in my 30 years as car owner. Oscar was very polite, helpful, and went the extra mile (literally) in driving me to the car rental place personally since he knew I needed to get to work and the Enterprise pick-up service was being slow. Did not have a great experience at Fix Auto South Seattle. Car was taken to them by my insurance company in late November with some body damage (and engine damage they did not find) after being stolen. I did not get my car back until March after months of "ordering parts", and all kinds of other hang-ups. When the car was returned, there were still fixes that needed to be made, and some clearly missed diagnoses. In addition, the detailing company they use stained the console, which needed to be replaced. I'm sure there are capable people at this shop, but Oscar is not one of them. I had my mom's Acura repaired here. She had accidentally backed into our stone fence wall and damaged the rear bumper and mud guard. I spoke to Andrew the manager who was very professional and gave me a complete understanding of what it would take to fix the car and all the options available in terms of repair and replacement of the various parts and what the costs were with each option. This was important to me since I had decided that using insurance for something like this would provide no benefit due to the deductible being close to the repair bill. By giving me all of the options, I was better able to save money on the repair and get it done right. I had gone to 3 other shops and 1 of them took over a week to get me an estimate and 2 others turn me away saying I had to make an appointment to get someone to look at the car to even provide me with an estimate. Turning away customers is what I call ridiculous. Even after the car was all complete, my mother had noticed a couple slight things she wanted perfected and Andrew was more than happy to take care of it all without any additional charges or complaints. TL;DR: Best auto repair facility I've ever dealt with. I received almost daily notifications/pictures of the repairs as they went along. Went above and beyond my expectations in both timeliness and customer service. Come to think of it, I've rarely been treated to the same level of attentiveness and care that they provided me anywhere else in general. I have never encountered a shop as enjoyable to work with as Fix Auto (South Seattle). I was moving out of state in 8 days when someone backed into my 3 week old Jetta. I immediately called my insurance and they hooked me up with Fix Auto, who got me in the next day. When I told them I was moving and I needed to have my car packed with all my belongings and driving out of state in exactly one week, they made a promise to have it all wrapped up in time for me to leave. They called me a rental car, and I was picked up at the shop by Enterprise. Honestly, I was skeptical that they'd get it done. They had TONS of cars packed into their lot, and from their perspective, there was really no reason to rush my repairs; I wasn't anything special. Those doubts were flushed away almost instantly when I received my first text/email update from Andrew, who had sent me a full photo album detailing my damages, and a notification that they had sent my car to Les Schwab for some alignment diagnostics to make sure nothing was wrong internally. Throughout the rest of the week, I continued to receive updates on the status of my car, including pictures during repair itself! Finally, the day came to pick it up. I was leaving the next morning at 7am, and I had my rental car packed full of everything I own. They called earlier in the day and told me it'd be ready by 5pm. 4:30 rolls around and I get another call saying it's actually going to be closer to 6:30 or 7, and that they'd call back about an hour before it's ready. At this point, I'm biting my nails, nervous that the next call is going to be them dropping the ball, confirming my skepticism; no auto repair shop was actually that good. Lo and behold, by the next phone call it was done, ready to be taken away at 7pm. I sped down to Georgetown. By this time it is well after closing, but when I pulled in there was an entire team of dudes focused solely on wrapping up the final touches on my car. After transferring all my stuff to my car, I left the rental at the shop. Andrew said they'd drive it back for me in the morning. He gave me a thick packet detailing every bit of work they did to the car, including pictures of the steps along the way. He thoroughly answered all of my questions, and was very patient and attentive. Overall, I've never had a better experience. I really hate going to mechanics. Maybe it's just me, but I've found so many that I've encountered to be gruff, obstinate, and generally reluctant to entertain questions or requests/deadlines. At Fix Auto, even among the sea of vehicles in their lot, I felt like for the entire week I was their only customer. I was on a time crunch, and they got it done just for me. I have had my car fixed by Fix Auto twice and had great experiences both times. The staff is friendly. Their estimates both times were FAR FAR less than other shops in the area, which is important when you are paying out of pocket and not through insurance. They scheduled quickly and were on time both times. They are good with communication and contacting everybody I asked them to contact. My car looked great both times. All of the things that matter when it comes to getting your car fixed they did and did well. I hope that I won't have the need for these kinds of services again, but it's nice to have a good place in the rolodex just in case. read more

It is always unfortunate to have the opportunity to review a body shop. My experience started with some unsupervised hoodlums marauding the neighborhood with cans of bright yellow Rust-Oleum spray paint. Maybe they were just budding young artists who picked several cars to use as their canvas. This late night spree of destructive behaviour was followed by my own attempts to remove the paint with a plastic scrub pad. I assumed plastic would not scratch either the metal or glass, I was wrong. At any rate Alki Auto Body did a superb job getting my car back to its normal color. They worked with my insurance company who had recommended them and Enterprise even dropped off a rental car right there for me. read more

I brought my Mercedes ML320 in for repair, front end damage and all the quirky stuff that come along with owning a Merc, dash lights coming on etc. I have to say when cars get into wrecks they are never usually the same. I was pleased to find out this was not the case after they repaired the damage. The cost of the claim was nearly 15K, I got it back not a worry in the world. Just my luck, someone keyed my other car and the first place I thought of to bring my 2010 Dodge Challenger was FixAuto South, insurance tried to sway me into using their preferred Body shop but I was not having it. I brought it in, got the key mark fixed now the challenger looks great. Hopefully no more wrecks or key marks but if so I will always bring here. Oh nooooooo. Recommended by our adjustor. Wow. They said they would be done in 7 to 10 business days. After 15 or so we started calling. It was "finished" in 20 business days - ahem, read, a MONTH. They had to replace the back side panel where a decidedly disgusting person hit the car and disappeared. Now the automatic rear door will not open or close all of the way. They knew about this and released the car to us. When we called they automatically agreed to pay for a rental car without hesitation so we could return it for a proper fix. So, points for this, but deduction for not caring enough to fix this the way it should be fixed. Run! I am not sure why this is a recommended garage by insurance companies. We went here because our normal body shop told us the truth - they were booked out. These folks lied and then just kept the car without any comment, phone call or apology. Shame. read more

I brought my car in for a bumper repair they told me it would be fixed in three days. I kept calling back and they kept telling me they would call me back. They never called me back. 10 days go by and I come in to find out what progress has happened to my car and it hasn't even been touched yet.!!!I was so mad I discharged my car and brought it somewhere else. This is highly unprofessional. The office reeks of beer. These guys look like they get paid to lie and drink. I just got my Mazda 2 back from Alki Auto Body and I am more than satisfied. I had a very large dent in my bumper and some extra damage underneath. They were able to lower the initial quoted price to save me a little cash, and they did a great job fixing my car. They were very friendly, very fast, and even called to get me a rental car to pick me up. When I was leaving Oscar told me they buffed out some of the scratches I had on my front bumper (not part of the work they were doing) and that it looks a lot better.
