2 stars that COULD have been 5. (Sorry LONG STORY) Brought my 2019 Volvo XC40 here for repairs after a claim I filed to Geico. The experience could have easily been a 5/5 service however to be fair I am unhappy with the outcome of my repair so I am scoring them a 5. PROS: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Start to finish the process was very easy. The staff were friendly, and the turn around time was extremely fast. The billing was handled by the body shop who dealt directly with Geico making the process very streamlined and easy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. CONS: Upon picking up my car I am extremely unsatisfied. Why? you may ask. While the cosmetic repair looks great, this came at the cost of the body shop DISABILING ALL the Autonomous features! Let me explain. Without going into huge detail, my repair was for cosmetic damages to the passenger side mirror and dents to the passenger side of the SUV. I am learning after the fact, that In order to do the repair the sensors (managing features like Auto Pilot, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keeping, & Autonomous parking), needed to be unplugged. Due to this being unplugged the system required a re-calibaration and the upon attempting this, the calibration failed and the mechanic was unable to successfully do so. Why? The body shop says this is because of previous damage to the mirror on the DRIVER side, damange I reported at the time of estimate however was told by body shop this appeared to be from another incident. Now let me be clear, the damage to the driver side was VERY minor, and cosmetic, so I did not argue this case. It is also worth stating that at the time I dropped off the car BOTH mirrors on driver and passenger side were operating normally, and ALL of the autonomous features listed above were ACTIVE and able to be used. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was not informed that in order to do the repair these sensors would need to be unplugged which would disable them completely! I feel that it was the duty of the body shop to INFORM me of this before proceeding![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had I known this I would have proceeded differently! IMO, the repair is not complete. I have never been in another accident so any problem with the driver mirror must have been related to the same accident. Therefore IF this mirror needs to be repaired in order to restore functionality of ALL THE TECH upgrades that I love about my car; then I feel this repair should also be included. Extremely unprofessional -- I do not recommend Crash Champions. I had a damage assessment appointment, and after waiting longer than expected, they told me the report would be ready in 15 minutes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Drove my car in to get an estimate on repairs of damage due to my getting too close to a column in parking garage. I was informed I should receive an estimate in 5-7 days. I called after this period as I had not received an emailed estimate. Reception was friendly and found estimate was not processed because someone was out 2 days. She was forwarding to someone to address.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I then proposed option to drop my car off after parts were ordered and about to be delivered. My assumption was that they would replace the back door and quarter panel. I offered a suggestion to pay half the estimate up front and bring my car in when the parts were available. I was told this would have to be approved by the manager[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Manager says this is against policy and that the exception would have to be sent to her manager...then the next level up...then the next level up. She explained that she would get the estimate to me by tomorrow, but would need me to leave the car with them as they would be working on the repairs in house and only order parts they couldn't repair manually. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She then told me to take my business to a 'mom and pops' shop to accommodate my needs. When I responded that I do understand now that they would be repairing the dents/scrapes in house, and hoped that they could complete it in a timely manner. She again told me to go to a 'mom and pops' shop[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When I told her I know understand the repair better now and asked if she was turning away my business....she said yes. Don't think I would trust a business that doesn't have my interest at heart. All I needed was a simple 'this process is policy and cannot be changed' with an explanation of their repair process. Got rear-ended and made an appointment through GEICO to get an estimate last Friday. All went well. The guy took a few pictures of the car and within an hour I had my estimate. Called to make an appointment and they got me scheduled for this morning at 8am. (So far so good) But when I showed up this morning to drop the car off for repairs, I was told that the appointment I made was not valid because it had to be made through GEICO. Meaning, I made an appointment through them and they can't honor it because they made a mistake. I understand policy, but if it's on you, and I am already there for my appointment, you should honor it. So I leave and call GEICO to schedule a new appointment, and my adjuster tells me that they usually do have to go that route, but because GEICO is paying me to then pay them, they don't need to go through that system. I turn around and head back. This woman is insistent that they still will need to go through that system and that they are booked. When I asked about the appointment I made, she tells me that if we go with that even if they did get it in today, they would not be able to get to it for a week, because they prioritize GEICO appointments. Okay...then why would your company book me for today if you aren't able to get to it for a week? Especially if I'm paying out of pocket? Clearly you do not value your customers. I called my GEICO adjuster and chose a different shop. They were able to get me in today and the car should be done in a couple days. Based on my experience today, I would not choose this shop again or recommend to anyone. They don't know customer service, they don't value you, your money, or your time. read more

Amazing experience. I went here because of Geico. The process was completely painless and pleasant. I called geicco at 4pm on Monday and had an appt w Service King the next day at 11am with a car rental waiting for me. During the service period i received periodic updates via Text and it showed me what I owed VS what geico was paying. The whole process took less time than they estimated by 1 week! When i picked up my car i was so surprised they vacuumed and cleaned the interior. Such a nice touch. They also returned my rental car on my behalf. I will be definitely using them again if I have future body work needs! read more

I called for repair services after an accident in mid Nov of 2023. They got my car in right away. The estimate took about a week and they ordered the parts. It took approx 3 weeks to get needed parts. It was nearly a month and I got my car back. When I got into my car and headed out into the main road, I noticed my gas Guage said 18 miles left in my tank. I have NEVER let my car get anywhere near that low. I headed straight to gas station. When I got home I looked over the repairs and noticed one of the damaged light covers had not been replaced. On closer inspection, a plug was left out of my door and my side view mirrors were not working. Also, my driver's window does not go up smoothly any longer but I forgot to mention it when I called them. I went back in to the shop & they ordered the parts I needed. A month later, I called and they just got the parts 2 days prior, I scheduled the repairs. When repairs were done, the guy told me a fuse was blown & replaced for the mirrors which was great because it wasn't blown when I left my car with them. When I returned home I noticed my fuse cover was barely hanging on the fuse box. read more

About 1 month after picking up my repaired car from Service King I was finally in contact with Joel Johnson from "Customer Loyalty". I paid well over $11,000 out of pocket to Service King for these repairs, [yes, I have insurance, however, Progressive (who I no longer have, and without hesitation do not recommend, REFUSED to pay. I was predominantly in contact with the CEO, to no avail.)]. While not admitting any wrongdoing, or poor service on the part of Service King, Joel was polite, sincere, and apologetic about the Possibility that someone (Chris at Rainier) from his company, May have misrepresented the reality and entirety of the repairs Service King does. Joel clarified for me they do nothing other than work on the exact location of the damage from a collision. They do not check fluid levels or air levels or anything else, such as replacing a dead battery in the key fob, before returning the car to the owner. In modern times, it is typically a regular part of such a huge and long service provided by any vehicle service provider with a decent or better reputation, to check and top off fluids and air. Not at Service King. You can certainly forget a wash and quick vacuum at Service King. Joel's Assumption of why Chris told me my car was like new was because they only use new parts and wasn't that great of them. I told Joel that for over $11,000 I certainly hope I got not only new but genuine BMW parts. What the...? Was this really how this conversation was going?! When Joel asked me how they could make it right I reminded him I had already taken care of all but one of the problems but I believed it would be useful in avoiding situations and frustrations such as this if he would talk to Chris about what and how he says to customers and to pay for my fog lamp to be fixed. I, by necessity got the fob battery, put air in the low tire and checked the others. As Chris had not bothered to find out if it was the bulb or a sensor, wire, etc. that, in fact, would have been their responsibility to fix, and he assumed it was a bulb out, Joel agreed to pay for the repair of the fog lamp, even if it was only the bulb. In the end my poor experience could not be erased. Nor could it be easily fixed. I had already had to live differently for 2 months without a vehicle which I used for my job so could not work, pay over $11,000, get the new battery, fill the tires, shelling out even more money immediately upon picking up my"just like new" car. I commend Joel for his efforts in a difficult situation... Impossible really...the only way they can really make things right is to refund some of my money. I paid them full price, which is what is expected when a job is satisfactory completed. It was not. Another interesting phenomenon about present society, we tend to pay full price regardless of our satisfaction with the work done...It is now what is expected. Full price, crappy work and/or attitude. I continue to not recommend Service King, but appreciate Joel's efforts. read more

I'm really disappointed with the customer service from Service King. I made an appointment to get an estimate at the Rainier location. I drove down and when I arrived clearly something wasn't going well. There were three of us waiting for the same timeslot and only one person performing the process The person I dealt with was friendly and apologetic about the wait. The actual process only took a few minutes and I was on my way. However, I never got a quote. Over the past three weeks, I've called and left two voicemails with the Seattle shop and worked with customer service over chat twice. They have my contact info and seem to acknowledge that I went in for an estimate. But, no one has given me a quote or called. I understand that they may be too busy, but why have me waste (now a couple hours) of my time? Why take the appointment in the first place? frustrating. UPDATE: I've updated this to a 3 star because they did take care of me once I posted here. It's still frustrating that I needed to post on Yelp to get help. But, I got a call from the manager of my local Service King. The manager was incredibly professional, apologetic and helpful ,and took care of my quote personally. read more

Car got broken into and was tired of handling things myself, so I let insurance direct me to them. They made me wait 3 months and requried the full payment from insurance and me about $1700 for parts and labor. During this time their PBX system was down and they wouldnt respond to any calls. Had to physically visit 3 times to find out the status. Even after 3 months , they were missing one piece, so I requested to have the ones available installed. They said I'd haev to leave the car for 2-4 weeks (it was 2-3 days earlier). Apparently, all work is backlogged. So I pickup the other pieces they had in stock asked for refund for the other one that hadnt shipped. I planned to have them installed myself. Instead they smugly, shipped all pieces back and issued a refund of $30. No itemized bill of why it cost them to so much for essentially shipping parts back. And their phone is back in the same mode. 3 calls after a week no one has responded neither the local store or corporate. I had to pay for the parts separately and for having them installed. Geico Insurance said its between you two now, and washed their hands off. Avoid at all costs. read more

I had to bring my vehicle here for the insurance estimate and as I was waiting in the lobby, a gentleman walked in. It became evident real fast that he did not speak great English and he didn't realize he was an hour late for his appointment. Instead of trying to communicate effectively with him to let him know he was an hour late and they wouldn't be able to see him, the woman at reception started raising her voice to the point where she was yelling as if he was deaf and kept speaking slower as if he was an idiot for not understanding English. I expect this behavior from a white person but not from a woman who appears to be Asian. Honestly, shame on you. This behavior of talking to someone like they are stupid and yelling does not make it easier for someone to understand English! Try not being an asshole and publicly humiliating them for no reason. I'll be damned if I ever come back here again. Her behavior was appalling and she should probably be written up or let go. Your behavior was rooted in racism. Reminder: this shop is in a predominantly PoC and immigrant neighborhood, with many, many non-native English speakers so perhaps you should train your employees on how to not be assholes to the people they are serving. My car was stolen from here along with 4 others!! It was clearly a inside job!! I was told by the manger that I would be made whole, whatever that means. A few weeks later I got a letter from their insurance saying they are not responsible for my vehicle! I recommend never taking your vehicle here for repairs. Brought my car in here for repair as this was one of Geico's ARX locations. I was able to drop off my car and pick up my rental provided by Enterprise at the same location. My Geico adjuster was Angel and she was fantastic. She kept me in the loop with the progress of my car and she gave me a fair estimate for the workup of my car. Charles worked on the body of my car and I couldn't be more pleased. The paint matches so perfectly and one could never tell that it was involved in a nasty accident before. All the work done here comes backed with a lifetime guarantee which gave me a peace of mind. I'm thoroughly pleased with Service King's fast and excellent service. Going on almost two months. They are taking an extraordinarily long time. They are not really giving me any updates either. I had to find out through the rental car company that the ETA was 8/18 a day that has since passed. They did pick up payments for my rental car, a Nissan Versa with 122 horse power, a small consolation. So I am still here waiting on completion of my vehicle. It was dropped off July 6th 2021 it is currently August 24th, hopefully it will be done by September. read more

Oh. My. God. More like Worst Customer Service King, because boy, they sure are leaders in that arena. I called Service King because I was required to use them in the past and was really happy with the job they did. I talked to one of the CS phone people, who said I couldn't drop my car off after hours (hi, get a drop box like every other auto place). I explained that I actually work, and she worked it out by calling this store and checking if I could simply drop it off on a Saturday morning for a Monday appt. Awesome! I was super happy and excited they could work with me. I got there this morning, walked in, and said to the manager, Carlos Galvez, that I had an appt to drop off my car for next week. He immediately looked at me incredulously and said "wow that's weird we never schedule that on Saturdays" in the most annoyed voice he could muster. This immediately put me on the defensive, but I explained that the person I had talked to had called and checked in with the location. He started to get logged on to the computer, and clearly couldn't because it kept denying him. He got all huffy and said "well, you're going to have to wait because all of these other people were before you." I literally was under the impression I was dropping off my keys. So I sit down and he goes to help the other people. He finally comes back to me and says "you aren't scheduled here," again, super rudely. I told him that I have a text message that proves I am scheduled there, and he insisted he see it. He said "well, obviously SOMEONE made a mistake" and went back into his office. I'm sitting there, and my husband comes in to get me. He can see I'm livid. It's too bad he didn't get there earlier, as I'm sure he would have been treated with more respect than I was, being a woman. My husband and I decided that obviously they don't want our $700, and left. I went back to tell Carlos, and he sarcastically said "OK" and looked at me with the best mean girl stare I had ever seen in my life. Better than middle school. I called Service King to try and get my car into the Renton shop. When I explained what happened, the woman lectured me about how they don't do that on saturdays. I explained that it didn't justify his behavior, and she finally agreed. Ultimately, they told me that in order to schedule with them, I would have to take time off work, which I simply can't do. I will NEVER go back here again, and you shouldn't either unless you want to be treated horribly and take time off work to get an appt. read more

I can't say I'm happy about having to take the time to get insurance assessments and repairs when some fool backs into my car. However, this shop makes the experience almost painless. Nordstrom quality service and beautiful results. Honest explanations of what is involved in the repair and what complications could arise. (Thanks, Chuck!) The Enterprise rental on-site is fast and professional and helpful. The shop people go the extra mile - I got my car back washed, detailed and gorgeous. This is my third time getting repairs at this Service King and it amazes me that I drive away happy. I went to the West Seattle Service King, just a few blocks from my home, and was not treated well. Those of you who know what a nightmare the West Seattle bridge commute can be will understand what a salute to quality it is that I make the trip to the Rainier shop happily. I rarely do reviews but this place was very disappointing. They didn't tell me when they did work that raises the price to over double of the estimate on record. They also miscommunicated several times to me as to when my car was available for pickup. They called me on a Friday saying it was available but in reality It was not available until the Saturday 8 days after. The actual mechanic was very nice but... after they did repairs on my Dewar bumper and aide panel 1 on the left side they actually managed to break my left turn signal and returned it to me as I found out a few days after with a signal that wouldn't light up. I've worked with body shops a few times in my life, and Service King is not only the first I'd recommend, but also the first I'd rave about. I took my Jaguar there for relatively minor repairs on all four doors. I received that car back with a great repair, matched paint, etc. Which was a first. The only problem was some swirl marks on the new paint. No problem, I used to detail cars, I'll just buff it out later. Left them with an 8/10 review on their site. Later that day I had a call from the shop, they wanted to fix the problem. They worked around my schedule, paid for a rental, and took my car back to the shop to fix the swirl marks. I was pretty surprised -- I've always had to fight to get shops to fix mistakes. Car came back not only without swirl marks, but also meticulously detailed. Horrible customer service experience here at the SERVICE KING location on Rainer. My insurance company helped select them as a 'select service' shop. I went in for the estimate and was told by Service King that unless I was dropping off the vehicle for the actual repair right then, my Insurance company would not pay them directly and I'd have to hassle with submitting claims and managing payments myself (I know now this was A LIE, confirmed by my insurance company). Service King would not provide an estimate, but offered me a new appointment for drop off over a month from then. So, I scheduled that. When I arrived today for the appointment, and pulled in to the 'drop off' area, and I was ignored by staff hovering around another vehicle. I also went into the office for help, but it was empty. After 25 minutes without acknowledgement I spoke up and asked what I needed to do. That was meant with a HOSTILE attitude and questions about what my appointment was for. I was taken aback and replied that it should all be in the notes and that I had been in before. MORE HOSTILE REMARKS!! I asked if they wanted to continue, and they said they'd preferred not to... OK FINE. Better to find an independent shop ELSEWHERE that is actually interested in building a reputation and good relationship with its customers. read more

I've waited a few weeks to write this because I was so furious when I got my car back that I knew I needed to calm down before I used words I regret, so I'll state just the facts. My car was tboned on the passenger side and my insurance suggested this place. They gave me a date that my car would be ready and then did not contact me until 3pm that day to let me know that my car would be another two weeks (actually three weeks) When I finally got my car back there was a fresh mystery scratch on the side of my drivers car that was not damaged in the accident. I would rather pay someone else to fix it than take it back to these shady people. They are such a hassle. Not worth your time. The lady who handed me the keys asked me to give them high reviews when I'm surveyed because they waved a small fee for my front bumper...... I also heard another employee of this place telling another customer to give them good reviews when surveyed because "I wont get a bonus if you don't tell your insurance company we did a good job" WHAT A SHIT WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. How about just actually doing a good job?! How about not keeping people's cars for over a month and then damaging their car in the process, and then have the audacity to ask for a good survey review. Have several seats. My car was there for a month, they said they were busy, I understood. They never once called me to tell me what they were doing or the progress of my repairs, even after they had me fill out a paper asking how often I'd like to be called, I wrote in, once a week. They likely lost this paper ( work authorization form ) because a week AFTER I GOT MY CAR BACK back a girl from there called me to tell me that they couldn't start repairs on my vehicle until I filled out the form...... I explained to her that I already got my car back, the work was already done, and suggested they do some organizing. Accidents are never fun. And these people will prolong your hell. They work directly with several insurance companies and have a rental facility on site (Enterprise) for convenience. My car was in questionable driving situation after an accident, and the soonest appointment through their central scheduling system was 1 week out. I called this location directly and they squeezed me in a few days earlier. They took care of the estimate within a day and worked with my insurance company to take care of the rest. read more

I really want to leave a good review but just cannot. This particular location did me so wrong. The customer service people are so arrogant I knew right away I had made the wrong choice. I had a minor ding up and decided I wanted rear end all fixed up to new. It is normal to see a few small scratches in a plastic bumper but I love my car so I decided to go for a whole paint job. The assistant manager was very condecending towards me as if I was dumb and do not know what I want. He also made it known that he really only does what the insurance company tells him. I want to make clear right now for yelpers that it is legally your choice what is done to your car. You authorize repairs not your insurance company. The insurance company can decide what they will pay and you can pay more in order to get more or pay less in order to save money. Rainier SK would not fix the car the way I asked. Also my car was dangerous to operate when it left and I was injured. The bumper paint job went badly with "bubbles probably dust" in the fresh paint. They did not bother to clean the car even before working on it. I payed to get the full tail end fixed up and authorized new rear lenses etc. He just went with the absolute minimum and I am so disappointed. I brought the car in again to have both the manager as well as the insurance agent look again. They found problems with the work and something else to the frame had been damaged apparently at this shop. He said he wanted make it right and garunteed a call from the shop Monday morning. Never received any call. Eventually when I had a bit of spare time I called them and they started right in about the insurance and all this argument. They seem to do "cross quote" tactics. Basically not satisfactory for the vehicle owner and I would suggest going with your gut and taking your car some other place. Picked up my car and noticed that my windshield was smashed. This was not how I dropped off my car. Upon further review the technicians had damaged the interior door and another panel while prying off or putting parts back on. They had also failed to fix a portion of my damage. I left the car for another week and all issues were corrected. Please inspect your car before leaving with it. read more

Crystal will even tell you how much she's doing to help you. I hope management has changed how they do business as everything is strictly "verbal." In Crystal's eyes, verbal is okay for everything. You have a car there and someone else wants to make changes on it? Sure! Verbal is okay. Doesn't even matter if you're the owner cause Crystal says so. So many reasons as to why I would never go back. They didn't know where my car was. Didn't know what my car was. They left notes about my car that never happened. They let someone who was NOT the owner make decisions on the car. The manager was the only one who called to make things right, but at that point, the damage was done. Get over yourself Crystal. It's only a matter of time till someone else calls you out on your BS. read more

Caveat: I just dropped my car off this morning, so I can't speak to the entire process, but so far, this has been hands down, the best car repair service I've received. Here's why: 1. I originally brought my car in mid-week about a week after the big snowstorms in Seattle. The guys I worked with (Mitch and Chuck) took the time to let me know that if my car was driveable and I could wait, they could probably get it back to me faster if I rescheduled because of residual delays from the snowstorm. So I rescheduled for first thing Monday morning a couple weeks later. 2. The woman at the front desk (Gloria?) was really helpful in explaining the process before my adjusters came out. She also remembered me when I came back in this morning, which was such a pleasant added customer service touch. 3. Mitch and Chuck also remembered me, were really easy to talk to, and advised me on how I could start the car rental process (conveniently located inside the office) while they got started on their part. I always appreciate attention to efficiency, which shows real respect for other people's time. 4. The Enterprise rental guy was also extremely helpful and friendly. I've rented plenty of cars before and it always seems like it takes about 30 minutes to rent a car, even when you reserve online, check in before you arrive to pick it up, fill out paperwork, etc. This took about 5 minutes, start to finish, and involved no pressure to get insurance / pay for gas up front and a really nice conversation. 5. From the time I arrived to the time I left, it was maybe 30 minutes - and I left feeling like the people I interacted with knew exactly what was going to happen and would keep me informed throughout the process. Assuming the repairs are good (which I assume is a given), I'll definitely use this shop if I get in another accident and hopefully can go there for other car repairs! read more

Someone hit my car while it was parked and ripped the bumper to shreds. Luckily, they left their insurance info and Service King was the preferred shop in the area who could get me right in for assessment and repair. My insurance set up the appointment. They had a bit of a hard time getting connected (kept getting disconnected), but Service King called me right back to confirm the appt and I brought my car in the next morning. From the first contact I had in person with Crystal at the front desk, to Jill who helped review the repair process, to the rental car company who was right in the lobby, I had an experience that was really great and also really easy. The accident my car was in was not stressful or upsetting, but I was still treated with upmost care and respect. I can't imagine how complicated and upsetting the process would be to someone who had gotten injured in an accident, but know that Service King would take very good care of me, regardless. When I picked my car up, it looked great. Once again, Jill took excellent care pointing out the repairs, the fixes they did and was personable, kind, and just really a pleasure to deal with! I'm hoping not to be in this predicament again. But if I am, Service King is the shop I would definitely feel great about going back to! read more

Charles Desmond was who helped me. He was very patient and thoroughly with explaining what the steps were going to be. They told me that my car would be ready and it was ready on the promised date;although that wasn't expected! I picked my car up and everything was smooth from dropping the rental car off to the guy coming out and explaining what was done. The receptionist was also very sweet! I've had some terrible body shop experiences, and this place has always been the opposite. Through several repairs (we had an unlucky run for a year or so) this Service King has been reliable, courteous, communicative and professional. Chris (service tech) and Gloria (front desk) deserve special shoutouts for their work. There are (or at least were, might be more now) only two certified Tesla repair shops in Seattle and this place is by far the better of the two (we used the other one and their customer service and communication were infuriating and insulting). Oh yeah, and the Taco Bus right next door is superb, gotta eat there every time we go. read more

I just recently took my car here, rainier Ave location for a quick repair/touch up. I had gotten rear ended but my bumper wasn't all that bad. They were done with my car so quickly! Great experience here! Super friendly staff that walked me through the process, as this was the first time I've needed to take a car to a body shop! I got quotes from a few other shops, and Service King was able to get my work started the soonest! I was expecting it to take several weeks, but they were done in 6 business days (ahead of schedule) and updated me via text on estimated finish dates throughout the week.
