I was contacted by Fix Brothers via Yelp messaging for my project. I am surprised by the good reviews. I had an opposite experience while getting an estimate. You can see our text conversation below. Since this business did not reply to my last text, It looks like the charge of $120 is for gluing the planks and putting a few screws in per door with a total of $240 for two doors plus unknown additional charge for materials and painting. If I would not ask additional questions, they would make me believe that their quote of $120 per door included everything. Does he even know what a scammer means? I am happy to help this business owner with the meaning of "scammer": Scammer Definition & Meaning by Merriam-Webster: "The meaning of SCAMMER is one who perpetrates a scam : a person who commits or participates in a fraudulent scheme or operation." Calling someone who leaves honest reviews a scammer is laughable. This business also has a math problem, cannot count :). A local carpenter/handyman, who was referred by my neighbor, did a great job lengthening both doors. All work was done under 1.5 hours for a total of $125. What a team... these guys did some fine wood work in our newly renovated house and exceeded my expectations. Showed up on time, no surprise with their rate, and delivered on everything they said they would. They left the job site cleaner than when they arrived and I liked that they walked me through every single step of their process. They offered different approaches to our project - including a more expensive varnish but they didn't push for the more expensive product and just gave me a fair comparison. Ended up going with the cheaper polyurethane stain - and results still look great. Hi I recently submitted a wonderful review for Fix Brothers for George. This review is for work his brother Dima. Another glowing review for these brothers. Dima came out on a Sunday to fill in holes and paint the door frame of our front door. The repair was because of a locksmith that did not do a good job on fixing the lock on the door. Dima also was going to replace a recessed light but was able to fix the light without replacing it and also noticed another light that needed attention.
