What a strange year! With all the restrictions, I've been spending a lot of time outdoors (just like every other person in the city!) And it was time for a new helmet. I found the helmet I liked online but it would take a while to get delivered (Amazon has spoiled me). Turns out only one store in Toronto actually carried that brand, so I called FIX and made sure they had my color and size in stock. They were conducting all their business outside. There were clear signs to wait outside and not enter the store. The staff would go in and grab what you wanted to see and made it like a personal shopper experience. After months of online shopping, it was wonderful to have a sales representative assist you. It was nice to figure out my correct size, see the colours in person and buy the exact product I wanted. I felt safe, and the staff were wonderful to deal with. 100% going back for future bike needs. read more

The people at Fix Coffee + Bikes are good people who love your bike as much as you do. I had the pleasure of speaking with Cheryl and Steve, and learned more about bikes in half an hour than I would ever thought I'd know. Besides the unparalleled level of expertise, what makes this place stand out is the customer service. They go above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of, and you never feel like you're being taken advantage of (even as a newbie to cycling). As I said, very good people. Otherwise, the place itself is pretty adorable with the cafe in the front and bike shop in the back. It feels very neighborhoody, which reflects what it feels like speaking with the staff. 3.5 stars... great place to just sit and enjoy a drink while sitting comfortably. Lots of people working on laptops here too. I would have never thought this would be a cafe spot if it wasn't for Yelp. It's tucked away from W Queen W and its not the easiest to get to in the car (the maze of one way streets is fun... not really). But for all those in the neighbourhood I can see why you'd love it here. Bright, sunny, and open to the nice breeze, this cafe was completely open to the nice neighbourhood and has a soothing zen to it. One thing I have to point out is the professionalism of the owners (or at least the store manager). In a short span of 1 hour, two elderly gentlemen tried to enter the area and cause a bit of a disturbance. Rather than let that happen and disrupt everyone... they quickly focused in and moved the individuals outside of the cafe to speak to them. They could have yelled at them to get out but nope... they showed restraint and empathy by listening to their plea. Sincere appreciation for that. I love the clean and modern space... they did a nice job showcasing all the bikes while still giving lots of room to the cafe. The barista seemed a bit new to the espresso world when we ordered a dirty chai latte. But he did make it after understanding its a chai latte with a shot of espresso. He never heard of it before. Flat white with almond milk - They use a very dark roast or the beans have a very strong bitter note to them. I had to add sugar and I normally don't. Though I like the balance of this flat white better than my morning one at another place, it was still a bit much for me. 3.5/5 Iced dirty chai latte - Seeing how this is the first one he ever made, this was a good first attempt. Though the tea was still weaker than it should be, the espresso was tempered by the addition of more milk and tea. I do like how they used Sloane tea to make this... perhaps just need more tea leaves to give it that flavour. 3.5/5 Loved this space and think they have a lot of opportunity to improve on the drinks to hit a 4 star. Still a five star business, hopefully soon serving beer and wine! I've now been in here for some bike goodness, not just caffeine and snacks, so I thought I'd share a little update. It was $85 for my husband to get his poorly taken care of Fairdale fixed up for Spring and free for them to adjust my daughter's adorable little seat. They're fast and kind, and don't shame you for not storing your rides poorly... which we appreciated. It's like being told to floss more at the dentist, like, I know and I feel silly, buttt it happened. Anyway, none of that here. Just nice people, sprucing up your wheels. read more

First off, living just minutes away from Fix - I knew I had to check this place out and see what it adds to the community. Stepping in, I immediately realized the value of Fix. It is aesthetically comforting to see intent in all its design - from the rounded tables, multi-leveled benched seating area, a gallery of beautiful bicycles and accessories to high tech, under the counter" espresso machines. Words don't do justice to its overall, open design. Speaking with Louis who runs the cafe program here at Fix - and is extremely meticulous in his coffee making (ask him why & how he tests his coffee beans throughout the day!) - I now understand how sunlight can affect the taste and texture of espresso beans. All in all, bike lovers like myself will greatly appreciate this addition to the city and its importance as a coffee + bike fixing presence to the community will be a mainstay for years to come. read more

I live in the neighbourhood and have had a few issues with my bikes over the summer. Every time I've popped by, the staff has been friendly, fair in their diagnosis, straightforward about turnaround time and did great work. I don't feel like they're trying to fix things that don't need fixing :) I'm sure I'll be back for the next service... Staff at the cafe are also really nice and they make a great Americano. read more

I sorely miss living in the Carnaby condos down the street form this gem. I loved and still love coming by. Ross is the nicest, friendliest mechanic I've ever met- never tried to pull the wool over my eyes or make me feel dumb. Louie and Lina are both fantastic baristas, and graciously indulged my outlandish coffee requests. I can't stand the hipsters that take over the best tables but there is plenty of seating. There's also a massive collection of bike books, coffee tomes, and graphic novels to browse while inhaling the baker's latest experiments (those raspberry scones haunt me....I miss them so bad!!) Great tucked away spot off of Queen Street. Really cool spot with a great atmosphere. If you are looking for a great cup of coffee in the Queen West hood this worth the 2 block trek north. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about coffee. read more

I was quite disappointed when I moved to West Queen West in there wasn't any truly great coffee. That's been fixed (bad pun intended;) )

It is super clean with great natural light. They offer a selection of in-house baked goods which tasted delicious. The coffee was fresh and tasty. The staff were very approachable. Although the cappuccino and latte are more European sized, a bit small by Toronto standards, they are strong and full of flavour. Space is clean, fresh, bright and new. The staff I've met so far, one guy, one girl and the manager, Fred, are all super-friendly and interesting, they really know their products, their coffees and their pre-bottled juices - I tried the beet and fruit juice on a day I'd had too much coffee, and it was surprisingly delicious. read more
