I'm really disappointed right now. I broke the screen on my phone right over the front facing camera. The camera wasn't scratched but a little of the glass was removed. I took my phone in to be fixed and they did so quickly and at a competitive price, but when they put the new screen on they didn't clean the camera off which had gotten a little dust and debree on it. The front facing camera is basically unusable now because or the blurriness. When I went back in they just said sorry but that it would be too much work to fix. This seems really unfair to me. I paid $1,000 for the phone, then over $300 to have the screen fixed and I still can't use the camera. I live very far from my family and we use face time to talk a lot. I also love to travel and take pictures. My phone is basically missing a basic function now and I'm really disappointed. read more

I've brought lots of broken phones in here and they've been fine. Brought my laptop in for a charging port issue and got charged $37 for literally two minutes of them unscrewing the back cover and telling me they couldn't fix it. I'm fine with a reasonable diagnostic fee, but this felt like a ripoff for what was essentially no work on their part. I think I'm going elsewhere next time I need a phone fixed. read more

BEST SERVICE AND PRICES AROUND! My Iphone 6S screen was severely cracked, so bad so that the white part of the screen was even chipped. The owner assured me that she could easily fix the for me and replace the white part of the screen at no additional cost. She then went on to show me that i was missing screws at the bottom of my phone which can cause the screen to fall of at anytime she went ahead and put screws in for me too at no additional fee. It took under 20 minutes for them to fix my phone! When I came back to pick it up she gave me an additional 10% off for being a first time customer and then gave me 3 business cards to give to friends which if they use their service and present the card I will get additional savings added to my account for the next time. After being utterly disappointed by the Apple Store for not covering my manufacturer's warranty and pushing for me to buy a 3rd iPhone 6S, I looked around to find a place to replace or repair my defective charging port. I found Fix in a Zip and scheduled an appointment for the very next morning after calling. I was greeted and helped by Kristin, whom also personally repaired my phone. She gave me an analysis of my charging port, and deemed it compromised but definitely fixable. Fortunately she had one in stock to replace. I also opted for a few tempered glass cover since they have a lifetime warranty on them. She advised that it would take about an hour for the job. A free bottle of water at their waiting area and a quick workout at LA Fitness later, I came back early to find her pretty much done. $59 for a repair is a lot better than shelling out for a brand new phone, as well as the headache of moving all my storage media around. Super FAST service and less expensive than going to Apple to fix a shattered screen. Extremely pleased with my screen, could never tell it was a replacement. They even showed me my battery needed replacing (which I did not do because I'm upgrading) and I knew something was wrong with it because it didn't charge well and drained fast for a 7plus. They also sell ALL phone cases for $35 and include a lifetime warranty screen protector. I will never go anywhere else. read more

Unsatisfactory repair. I brought in my iPhone XR for a screen replacement. Install took about 45 mins, the price was fair. $120 The very next day the LEDs on replacement screen started to streak and discolor near the ear peace. When I returned to the store the tech determined the screen was internally broken (there was no damage on glass). He immediately put the blame on me. He explained the damage was from impact. Which did not make sense being that there was no damage to the glass. No crack, break, scratch or any indication of impact. His comprise, he would waive labor to install a new screen. I would have to pay for parts. $60. I know it was not my fault and there was not an impact. But I was already invested in it and I needed it fixed. After the tech took it to the back, he determined the damage was from the Face ID camera. He finally claimed responsibility for not correctly seating the camera the previous day. The good news was he would warranty the screen and I would not have to pay for the second screen. Upon completion he notified me the Face ID was inoperable. We tested this feature before the repair. He said most likely a iOS update would fix. I installed the update. It did not fix the Face ID. I return to the store for the 3rd day in a row. The tech says the camera was damaged during replacement. To fix it he would have to order the part. Im in town for a short work trip. I wouldn't not be in town long enough for the part to come in and the phone to be fixed. I had to accept that the Face ID camera is broken. Its not a big deal I could live with out this feature. But I am dissatisfied of the quality of work and the initial finger pointing. In retrospect I think a refund or or partial refund should have been offered, but it wasn't. I know there is an inherent risk with this type of repair, but this situation could have been handled better. read more

My husband dropped his iPhone and unfortunately his screen cracked. I right away came to yelp to find where he should take his phone and this is really the only place I found. I saw that appointments didn't need to be made ahead of time and the fee for his phone to get fixed was very reasonable. Adam went on a Friday afternoon and was told the wait time was going to be an hour and a half. Unfortunately Adam couldn't wait that long so he left. After looking around at a couple of places over the weekend and the prices Adam decided it was going to be best to come back here. He went on a Tuesday afternoon and the wait time was about thirty minutes. Adam dropped his phone off and went and sat in his car to listen to the radio. After about twenty minutes the person working in the phone came to the parking lot and found Adam to tell him his phone was ready. The fee was $60 for Adams 4s and it looks fantastic. I know that only the screen was repaired but it seems like Adam got a whole new phone. If we are in the unfortunate position of having a cracked screen again we will certainly come back. I called ahead and asked for the screen and walked in to drop it off and it only took them an hour to replace my screen. They also cleaned out my charging port and my whole phone before installing my new screen. 100$ less than what Apple would have charged without an appointment and really good customer service. The guys were awesome I would definitely use them again for fixing anything I need!!! Also put a new screen protector on that comes with the purchase of one of there cases and a life time warranty replacement on the screen protector. They didn't try to up sell any of their products either which I also appreciated. read more

After a month of having my new iPhone the screen started to crack. Fear of the crack growing more, I took it in to get it replaced. The guys were very informative and helpful. They fixed my phone quickly and it was good as new. 4 months later my phone started to act up. The screen would flicker and at times not light up. When I brought it back to Angel he replaced the screen again. It's refreshing to have companies that stand behind their services and make their customers happy. This place is such a joke. I called in and was quoted one price to fix my phone, but when I got there they told me it was going to be more. I asked to talk to the manager and the guy behind the counter named Tim said, "what do you need to talk to a manager for, you're talking to me?" When I finally got the manager out she said the reason it was going to cost so much is because they have to charge me for a new screen just in case they break the one that's already on there. So basically whether or not they have to put a new screen on they are going to charge me $120 for it. This was one of the most un-professional experiences I have had in my life, and I would urge you to take your business elsewhere. Excellent and fast service! I washed my iPhone 7 in the washing machine and they cleaned the lenses on my camera, checked out the phone to make sure there was no serious damage. Take your business elsewhere! I was in town and needed to have my phone screen and battery replaced and brought the phone here. In the process of replacing my screen they damaged the WiFi capability, which is one of the most important features on a phone. In the process of rectifying THEIR mistake, they tried overcharging me and then wrongfully accused me of lying and stealing. By they, I mean Kristen who ambushed me and spoke of events that she wasn't present for and then gave a backhanded and aggressive apology after I was completely offended and asked for an apology. Tim (my main contact), accused me of lying in the midst of trying to cover his tail and unprofessionalism. Phil who accused me of stealing, again, after not being present for any of the events besides taking my phone in for processing. They are unprofessional and no one deserves to be treated this way. I had my receipt, which they didn't bother reviewing, but instead continued to falsely accuse me while trying to justify their wrongdoing. I felt completely violated and disgusted. The worst business practices and complete lack of customer service. Besides the lack thereof apology from Kristen, I not once received an apology. I am a customer with morals, values and means who doesn't need nor deserve to be falsely accused of lying or stealing. Do yourselves a favor and save yourselves from the stress. There are much better businesses that you can support who will appreciate you. read more

So I went in here to get my iPhone 7 screen cracked fixed. After waiting 1 hr for the "technician" to do his job, I come back to pick up my phone. Although the screen was a new one, you could tell right away that the screen was 2nd hand and the colors were completely off. This wasn't that big of a deal for me but the fact that the home button didn't work was. Before hand, my home button worked perfectly fine, but after this guy's "professional" fix, the button literally stopped working. Do you know how infuriating it is paying over $120 for a service to fix your phone, but instead of being it fixed these "professionals" made my phone worse. The guy told me to wait until Monday and maybe his manager could take a look at it and possibly fix it. Extremely unprofessional and don't know what they're doing. I went in to get my GS4 fixed when the back LCD cracked in my pocket (while in an Otterbox) I showed up on Saturday 12/13/14 at 11:30 and waited about an hour and ten minutes total and a shade under forty five minutes for a repaired phone.The technician Angel did a fantastic job, and the bill was reasonable.In the event I have to get my phone repaired in the future, I will definitely use them. read more

He fixed the screen but the screen is not a certified Apple screen, so about a month after I purchased the new screen it now randomly goes blue/gray and has a shadow so the screen is not clear, it goes away after an hour but it is not helpful when looking at pictures or trying to read. I purchased the screen for $100 but you can get a legit Apple screen in the malls around rochester. Wish I had known this sooner and saved myself $100. read more

My advice is don't ever drop your phone.If you've never had to replace a cracked screen, you are in for an expensive shock. However, you have little choice in the matter if you want to use your phone, and Fix in a zip is the place to go. I saw some unhappy, frustrated people coming in (including myself)and everyone is greeted and made to feel like their misery is solvable.Prices are more reasonable than other stores that I know of( this was my second experience....), but the best part is the staff - they're very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient,and in particular,Tim and Kristin went out of their way to help me,and not make us tech-unsavvy types feel out of place.. I went twice to Fix in a zip @ Rochester, NY to fix my broken iPhone. Although I had tools to do it myself, as I am not a professional, I needed help to open a screw. During my first visit, Angel simply opened the screw without charging me even a single penny! I was amazed, considering that I am from Richmond, VA I was sure that I will be charged to do this job. To my surprise Alica and Angel did not charged me anything. The second time I went again, as I think the screen that I had replaced for the broken one had a faulty earpiece. This time I was sure that I will be charged and when Angel said $69 for labor my smile went away. But, here comes the great part, when he heard that I have all the tools and can do the job myself, he not only took time to explain me on how to do it, even encouraged me to do it myself to save the money. We were absolutely amazed first of all at how nice the place was on the inside..We went to get the cracked Iphone 6 repaired and wasn't sure of the time frame but was confident in the appearance that this was a good place. My samsung galaxy s4 wouldn't turn on, it was stuck in a boot loop because the power button was broken. I took my phone to these guys and they told me exactly what they were going to do to try to confirm the problem and then once it was confirmed, they explained the process they could use to fix the power button.
