The understanding was that the existing wood flooring would be removed so the new tile assembly would be installed over the subfloor. Instead, the existing wood floor remained in place and cement backer board and tile were installed over it. When I questioned this, I was told it was installed on the subfloor, this is not true. Then they told me that the original hardwood floor was the subfloor, this is also not true. I also experienced multiple issues with the tile installation. A cracked tile was installed even though I had replacement tiles available. When I raised the issue, they blamed me for not physically handing the installer the tiles because they didnt know where they were located. Which is ridiculous considering they were installing the tiles and know exactly where they are located. Later, additional tiles were damaged with a large circular cut that required further replacement. The checkerboard tile pattern was also installed incorrectly during part of the project. The wallpaper installation was another major concern. The wallpaper pattern was not aligned between panels. After I pointed this out, I was told the installers were not experienced with wallpaper installation and normally performed other types of work. The wallpaper was eventually removed, but I was informed that I would need to purchase replacement wallpaper because the original material had been discarded. They dumped their bucket of materials into my garden, caught on my security camera. During the entire process, I repeatably dismissed by rude workers and disappointed by what I viewed as repeated workmanship issues, poor communication, and a lack of accountability when I raised concerns. After I informed the company that I wished to end the project, the work area was left with construction debris and dust that I had to clean myself. They left all of the demo garbage in my garage and in my garden. If you meet either Gal, Tal (Tyler) or Priscilla Winters, I would personally recommend to run away. This review reflects my personal experience with this project.

I have just enough construction knowledge to make me dangerous, so I went for it and started the interview process for a contractor to repair my roof (from shoddy new construction using builder-grade materials). From the very first call and the inspection by my project manager, Isaiah, I felt at ease. His assessment was thorough (problem: cheap, weather-torn shingles and broken seal around roof pipes caused leaking in my top floor bedroom). His pics were so good that my insurance adjuster had no need to send their inspector out. They immediately offered me the money for a band-aid repair, but HomeTech went to bat for me, showing plenty of pics to prove to the insurance company that a whole new roof was needed. Altho it took a few months (shingle samples sent out to a lab for testing), it passed the required brittle test. The roof crew were on time and professional. And their in-sync work ethic was amazing as I got my new architectural roof installed in less than 5 hours under Isaiah's scrutiny and final inspection! Now for the interior work: Bayardo, the home interior mgr, was amazing at assessing my ceiling damage from the roof leak and some non-claim-related leaky drain damage. His demeanor was professional as well. And his crewman, Klaybin, did an amazing job at re-drywalling all damaged areas and topping it off with a clean and smooth paint job- can't even tell there was damage! To say this company was professional is not enough... They took great care to hear my concerns (trust me, I'm an interior designer, and I'm PICKY!) and their work ethic was as good as Home Tech's promise. And did I mention Ms. Marcy? She was the "glue" that held the whole project together--- communicating with tact and concern--- and making all the paperwork and scheduling a breeze. My house feels like "home" again! They repeatedly canceled scheduled dates, explicitly telling me my house was not a priority. During this delay, the roof leak and internal damage worsened significantly. * Incorrect Materials & Refusal of Itemization: When workers finally arrived, they installed plastic ridge caps instead of the metal materials specified and paid for by insurance. When I requested an itemized invoice and bill of materials, the co-owner, Katie, refused to provide one--claiming that small jobs require higher markup and providing invoices would prevent them from making money. * Financial Mismanagement: After weeks of asking for my remaining balance, I was forced to mention reporting them to the Better Business Bureau just to get my refund check issued. Three weeks after depositing the refund, my bank notified me that the check bounced due to insufficient funds. * Unprofessional Conduct: Management actively avoids accountability, shifts blame onto their inspectors, and dodges calls. While Samir was helpful in trying to move things forward, working with Katie and executive management was a complete nightmare. Save yourself the frustration and hire a company that honors its schedules, uses proper materials, and maintains basic financial integrity.
