I had heard from neighbors and friends this place was good and that was not wrong at all. Last year I needed to have something shipped there, but the sender sent Fedex, when I thought it would be ups; the guy at fixit didnt know what to do but asked the next door pharmacy and they recognized my name from being a customer. He was great about it! Today I had shattered my iPhone screen and it's my only phone. They fixed it in 20 minutes for like HALF what apple charges! I am 100% happy and SO glad this place is in fishtown. They're super friendly too. read more

I went in on a Friday and was told to put a deposit down for my screen to get fixed the next day. The owner said the company they order the screens from had delays and "this never happens" when it took until the next Wednesday to come in. I finally got it fixed and less than a week later white lines were all over my screen and it was not functional. I got it fixed at another store and was told that I had used parts in my phone which is likely why it broke so quickly. When I called for a refund I was told it was ridiculous and again "this never happens" and that he was offended that the other store suggested that he didn't use new parts. I paid $160 and had to spend another $140 for it to be fixed properly. No refund, only a hang up. read more

I DARE YOU to leave your phone with these guys. The chances of you NOT being disappointed are incredibly low. Like another reviewer I wish I could review this establishment lower than 1 star. I read the reviews beforehand, but decided to give this local business a shot. So really, I'm to blame here for not heeding warnings. They were unable to fix my phone, but that has nothing to do with my 1 star rating. I would claim their customer service was terrible, but it was largely non-existent. They had my phone for well over a month all along the way giving me new pick-up dates. Every time I went to pick it up (3 times) it was not ready and I was assured someone would call me. Of course, they did not. Not once. I did get a few emails after one of my hopeful visits, but then they ghosted. All but one time that I stopped by the only guy working there was outside on the phone. Twice I stopped by and there was a handwritten sign saying they'd be back in 5 minutes. The non-phone-related excuses I was presented (from the apparent business owner) included: vacation/travel, an attempted suicide (totally inappropriate), a sick daughter, and an employee that "no longer works here". I have no reason to believe any of those excuses were truthful. I do not make it a habit of arguing or yelling at service people. This was my one exception. Not only fixed my broken screen but also repaired my home button at no extra charge. The process was smooth and fast. I didn't receive a call or receipt, but when I popped in, my tablet was ready to be picked up. My only recommendation would be to give customers a receipt or invoice upon drop off so they feel OK leaving valuable electronics at your store. Can be perceived as unprofessional as they didn't even notify me on the progress of my situation. Claim to put in time for money but return with no results. Make sure you get an affirmative quote and definite answer on whether or not they can fix what is broken. Amazing service, quality work. I went in to get the screen of my phone replaced, but found out the sim card holder also needed to be fixed. He did both for the same price as the screen replacement. Then we found out the WiFi and Bluetooth stopped working, so he ordered an entire new motherboard and put that in. Phone is in mint condition again and I couldn't be happier. I'm SO happy I found this little repair shop. The owner Aiden does all the work and he is super knowledgeable. My iphone touch screen was basically dying out and I was dreading going to Apple who I was pretty sure would say I needed a new phone (it's a bit old). A friend recommend Fix It and Aiden quickly diagnosed the problem and said he could fix it in 2 hours and give a 60 guarantee for just $65. My son cracked his Ipad screen & after calling several other places I decided to go with IFixit because they offered the best price by far!!!! I dropped it off on Thursday and it was ready Friday evening. The screen looked great and works great as well. On the yelp app there was a coupon for a percentage off. Aimen said the coupon was no longer valid but threw in a heavy duty screen protector in lieu of the discount. Aimen is one of the few store owners who realizes that customer service goes a LOOOOONNNNG way. I will be back for my future tech repair needs! read more

Wtf was Apple thinking seriously, unreal. My screen was broken, and my battery was depleted and dying constantly. The gentleman, and i mean absolute gem of a human, who runs Fixit in Fishtown replaced the screen & battery for a very reasonable price. I was stoked. Got home...and lo & behold, dang- the screen is doing some weird janky ghost typing type stuff, and i'm definitely pretty bummed. Call my friend here back & he's like "oh that's a factory defect..bring it in right now & i will replace it for free." So that's exactly what I did, and he even threw in a free screen protector. Horrible customer service! The owner is nasty & rude!!!! The store has an Amazon delivery service where You can get your packages sent to ' well it was my first time using their service & it will absolutely be my last!!!! I got a notification that my package was ready for pick up & I went to the store to pick it up! First no one was in the store when I got in at 11:30 ' i waited a few min before i called out " hello anyone here" the clerk was upstairs doing something & let me know he was coming down in a sec. When he arrived I gave him the code that I was assigned to pick up my package w and he put it in the system & my name popped right up ' as well as the descriptions of my package. I waited for over half an Hr as this man ran all over the store trying to find my package. All the while he was trying to contact his employer ' finally after 40 min his employer answered his call. He explained to him about my package and he said "oh yes I remember yesterday trying to scan packages and it not working so I manually put them in and scanned the wrong one" "tell her to contact Amazon cuz that's not my problem ' that package is not in my store" I then said " what do you mean? Where is my package? I got a notification stating it would be here for pick up ' he put my info on the system and it says it's here ' so what do I do next?! He then told me that I had to contact Amazon to see where my package was because it's not his problem! He was very nasty & rude when he said it & I was quite taken aback! It was clearly his fault for scanning it In the system incorrectly & then to tell me I have to find my own package as if he just didn't care W no apology or instruction as to what happens next. The employee could see I was upset so he hung up w his employer and secured me that he would take care of it for me. He told me that it should still be delivered and he'll make it his responsibility to secure my package & call me when it's ready. It's been a few hours and I still haven't heard back from them! I've come to this shop a few times now and have had all good experiences. I've bought two Apple iPhones from this shop, and they work just like new! I've asked where they're from since I'm wary of stolen iPhones and the owner explained that he buys lots of cell phones that have either been returned by apple customers or refurbished, and then sold by dealers by bulk. I don't agree with buying brand new apple products from Verizon or Apple, and I'm happy to support a small business instead, so this place works out for me. Minor detail, but last time I bought a phone, I had to bring it back because the battery life was on it's way out, which is something I think should be checked before you sell the phone. But the owner was happy to replace it on the spot at no charge, and throw in an extra tempered glass screen protected. I am happy with this place and will be back next time I accidentally put my phone through the wash :) read more
