I wasn't planning to pay this store a visit at all, but my friends and I happened to be walking past by it, and one of them wanted to check it out. This turned to be surprisingly a really cute store with lots of cool stuff. First off, as I entered the store, I could immediately smelled this nice masculine, almost herbal type of scent that was super pleasant. We were greeted by the staff there, so it was an immediate plus when the staff was friendly like that. And I could tell that, even though the store was not the biggest clothing store we'd ever been, everything was super well organized. I liked the styles of the jackets they carried here and I absolutely loved the wall of colorful backpacks they displayed at the store. It was beautiful. read more

I'm an arborist. I run a tree care company in Los Angeles. For years we have bought Fjällräven clothing for our employees as Christmas gifts. We love the brand and the clothing is built to last in our grueling work environment. But we've had trouble with the local store. We decided that this year rather than finding a new brand- let's try a store outside of LA. The San Francisco store were OUR HEROES!!!! The manager Madaly could see that this was crucial for us and he found all the things we needed from stores around the country, quickly shipped them to his store in San Francisco and then shipped one delivery down to us in LA in a timeline that was quicker than what we needed. I love Fjallraven and I can't recommend them enough. I want to support local as much as possible- but next time we need to make a big order, I'm calling the SF store FIRST. read more

Though small, this store is beautifully organized and optimized to showcase many of the brands' products. I was surprised by just how much was displayed (with more likely available in stock in different styles and sizes in the back). More outstanding, though, was the level of attentiveness made by the associates working when I was there. I was greeted and thoroughly helped by Billy and Alec, who were both extremely knowledgeable of the products and answered all of my questions (there were many!) with patience and grace. One of the pants I purchased to get tailored (which they provide in-house for free!) was even expedited given my upcoming trip (normally pants with raw seaming can be tailored within a 5 day turnaround period; Billy was able to talk to the tailor who got it done in less than 24 hours, calling me the next day to let me know it was ready for pick up). All in all, I had a very great experience and am impressed by both the products and the wonderful people who work here. read more

I came all the way to SF with my colleague just so we could check out the Kanken backpacks here! It was really nice to be able to see the backpacks in person because the colors are so much nicer and look so different compared to the pictures on the official website! For example, my colleague thought that some of the colors, like brown or yellow, weren't that nice online but she fell in love them in person. As for me, I thought the yellow was really pretty online but it wasn't to my liking in person. So if you have the opportunity, I would highly recommend coming here to check them out! I appreciated being able to compare the original size to the mini. I was thinking about getting the mini, but I saw how small it was and decided that the original would be better for me. I might come back here for a mini in the future, but for now, I am the proud owner of an original that I cannot wait to use! The products are expensive, but I think the quality is worth the price especially because you should be able to use these backpacks for years if you care for them correctly. The worker was very knowledgeable and helpful. She had tips on how to take care of your backpack (do NOT put it in the washing machine) and it also comes with a limited lifetime warranty! Now I won't have to worry too much about it! Well, I'll probably be back sooner than I should to get some shoulder straps and the mini...but I had to knock off a star just because the backpacks don't already come with the shoulder straps. I see no reason as to why we should have to pay more for them considering that these bags are already quite pricey. read more

There are very few retail/shopping experiences that are so memorable they deserve a Yelp review, and this is one of them. I'd known about how great (albeit pricey) Fjällräven products are, but never really had a reason to make a purchase until recently -- noticing the wet weather for a big trip to Europe being my excuse. I am so glad I browsed online and called the shop about a jacket mere days before the trip as the women's traveler's jacket ended up being a life saver for me in more than one way. The service here is superb: A store associate (a guy from Hawaii) was super helpful, knowledgable and enthusiastic and gave wonderful advice. He asked me where I was going and I told him Central Europe (Poland, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland) and he immediately said that the jacket would be ok (there's already a layer of wax on it), but that to be safe, with the wet weather, he'd definitely add another layer for me. Watching him carefully wax my jacket was so therapeutic and got me even more excited for my trip -- I absolutely felt ready for my travels and ready to tackle whatever the weather would bring. Really thoughtful with extra careful focus on the hood and zipper areas, for instance. And it's great that it's all natural and eco-friendly. Not only did he wax my jacket and offer advice and share fun travel-stories, he also gave me 10% discount, mentioning that it was the last size S so he had to! I was shocked and appreciative because this stuff is pretty pricey (but worth it). For anyone looking for a super versatile jacket, look into the traveler's jacket -- it's stylish, light weight but sturdy (and you can make it heavier or lighter depending on the wax), and full of pockets. SO many pockets that after my 3-week trip (and just my carry-on), I really had to make use of them to carry some of my belongings...hah. read more

Was promptly greeted when my husband and I entered the store. Sales reps were so helpful! Couldn't determine if the Kanken mini or regular backpack would be appropriate for my daughter. Female sales rep is petite like my daughter so she tried both on and let me take a picture of how each would look so I could text to my daughter and let her choose which size was better. Ended up getting the regular size Kanken. And they have more than just backpacks. Definitely recommend checking the store out if in the area. read more

Backpack is good quality but I didn't have a good shopping experience, and would recommend buying online instead so you can pick what you want. Basically, it's the type of store where you have to ask to see things and they talk to you the whole time so you feel pressured. I came in wanting a certain pattern and the sales rep said that it wasn't around anymore. I wanted to look at other colors and only a few were on display, so he went to get other backpacks from the basement. I didn't like any of the colors he brought but after he made several trips to get more colors, he seemed annoyed and I felt like I had to choose one. I didn't have much time to choose--I was only there for about 15 minutes and spent most of the time waiting. I wasn't thrilled with my choice but I tried to make the best of it, brought it home, unwrapped it, and was using it (i.e. it was too late to return). Then I looked online and saw that the pattern I wanted is still available, even though I was told it's not. Really disappointing to budget for a $80-100 splurge purchase but then not get the one I wanted. I can't justify buying a second equally expensive backpack. read more

Great little shop in a great location. I love that area. Neat, and we'll run place with super friendly staff. They didn't have my exact size so instead of trying to convince me to get a size they had in stock, they offered to ship a pair from another store and said they would call me in about a week. One week goes by and they call me and I go in the next day. They take them to the dressing room for me. Custom fit! They even offered to re-treat them for me after a few washes. They aren't just about backpacks, they make some fantastic hiking pants. Quality gear, quality staff that treats you right. Very classy. read more

First of all, if you haven't hard of Fjallraven: They are a high quality outdoor brand from Sweden. Think Patagonia or North Face, but better than them. I bought a jacket at their store in Seattle while on vacation and have been incredibly happy with the quality, fit, and function of that jacket. At the time I wasn't sure if I wanted the jacket waxed for added resistance to rain, so I skipped on it only to change my mind later this last year. I know there are videos online showing how to wax the jackets but I was terrified over ruining my $500 purchase by making a mistake. Then randomly while searching Yelp, I saw they were listed as having a store in SF. Sure enough, it is pretty new so I was unaware. Drove into town and the shop is in a pretty cool location on a neat high end street. The store is super clean with tons of jackets, backpacks, pants, gloves, and more to try on. Also, the store smells great haha. A woman named Tevna helped show me how to wax the jacket and then proceeded to professionally coat it while I shopped around. She had a great personality and my girlfriend and I got to have some awesome conversation with her as we shopped. I ended up buying a bar of wax to keep up the protection while back home, but I'm sure I'll be back to buy another great quality product from the great great quality people at the store. read more
