This store is beautifully curated and aesthetically pleasing with seemingly elevated work out clothes until you...touch the fabrics or try the items on. Most of the items I grabbed were polyester blends that lack the structure and refinement for the price point. The tee I tried on failed flat in drape and finish - I couldn't wait to take it off and get out of the store. I was a huge fan of GAP/BR/Old Navy (I'm local), not anymore :( read more

I'm a loyal Athleta customer and have had nothing but good experiences here--until this visit. The store is usually great and it's a nice job for the employees too: low stress, good music, friendly team, and an upscale neighborhood clientele. One employee, however (a blonde woman with blue eyes), was consistently condescending and disengaged. She initially avoided contact, then made little effort to help, and tried to get her colleagues to pick up the slack. Even when asked, she offered no guidance on products, sizing, pricing, or sales. She also didn't help order online when they didn't have an item. Just said "you can do it on your phone ". When I asked if I had done something to offend her, she said, "No, you're fine," but failed to recognize the clear discomfort in the interaction. No customer service at all. I mean, it's a pretty nice job - why the nasty attitude towards customers? I'm kicking myself for not asking to work with someone else--why put myself through that when I'm a loyal customer? I still ended up purchasing six items, and the rudeness continued through checkout. The attitude came across as entitled and was completely out of place in an otherwise positive store. Athleta chose to have LaserShip/OnTrac deliver our order. It was delivered to the wrong address. They submitted a delivery photo that is CLEARLY not our house/door. In fact, there is not a single house in our entire neighborhood with a door like the one in their photo. We contacted Athleta and reported the misdelivery. They said they were 'rejecting' our claim, and advised us to file a chargeback with our credit card. Chargeback filed! It's a slam-dunk win for us. Athleta very obviously doesn't care about its customers. They either don't bother to check the gps stamp with the delivery photo, or they do, and they just don't care when it doesn't match. I have worked for a very fast paced Athleta, in Georgetown. I was the top sales person, and was part of boutique shopping experiences that were very successful. The styles remain the same, with a few additional. The textiles, which have changed considerably, worry me regarding staying power. My items, which I wear constantly, look brand new. They are at least five plus years old. The sales staff lacked energy. That needs to improve greatly. The store was not welcoming, and two customers left while I was there with nothing. No person left Georgetown without something in their hand. I do understand that San Francisco is a different dynamic, but the greeting, the service, the energy has to be there always. I asked an older woman if they were busy and she answered back in a very snappy manner where the flagship store. That really doesn't matter. The question is why is the store so quiet on a Friday afternoon during the summer? I would love to see what their numbers are like. Compared to Georgetown. Just some input I felt like I wanted to put in, Athleta started in Petaluma. I was one of their first buyers back in the day. I think the hiring needs to be improved. Just my opinion. Service is not always as helpful depending on which associate approaches you. I was is shock when one suggested I call other stores to find out which location did alterations. There were no other customers on the floor when I was there. I stepped outside and stood in the doorway. Searched for other store telephone numbers on my phone. The Folsom St. store will arrange for the alteration. It's where I'll be shopping from now on. It was surprising because the staff at Fillmore has always been terrific. Same as the store in Minnesota that I went to recently and now Folsom Street. read more

I'll admit, I dress like a bum when I go shopping just to see what type of treatment I receive (that, and I'm usually just rolling out of bed in my pjs, and don't want to bother putting on an "outfit" when I'll just be trying things on. I will say that every time I have come to this location, I have been welcome by the staff and they have really been accommodating. I am always surprised and shocked and then pleased by their interaction with me that I then fee super obligated to purchase something, even if I don't find what I'm looking for (thankfully I love just about everything here). Pretty good selection of items and if you can't find it in the store, you can always order online (and staff can help with those orders). They also feature events on a monthly basis, from fitness workouts to talks to mini shopping events. Definitely worth making a trip, even if it's just to see what customer service should really look like. read more

Yes! I finally made it to Athleta after spending 20 minutes trying to find parking! Yeah, yeah yeah it's a chain place but whatevs...I like it *thumbs up*. The staff was super helpful and really friendly. The store is organized and there are a lot of different workout outfits to choose from. It's a bit pricey but not as expensive as some of the other fancy pants workout places. I was able to find a number of cute tops and yoga pants to add to my collection. If you can't find what you're looking for in the store, they have computers there onsite for you to order online. What more can you ask for? Give yourself time to find parking, it's kind of a pain in that hood. read more

Great store, super friendly, clean and organized. And they have great events on some weekends - I went to the dance class and yoga session on a Sunday morning and it was great. My favorite store for casual and athletic wear. I am always here looking for stuff. Jackets, pants, tops, hiking, yoga, chillin. I love their stuff. The only thing is they are expensive. Their return policy is great. You can wear them and return it if you aren't satisfied. They don't question you much, but I think that's why I like it here. The quality of their products are also good. Their service is good. It could be better with some of their employees... Actually, I can only think of one gal who seems to have a problem smiling. But whatever. My favorite pants are the Bettona Classics, Kickbooties and Revelations. They're great for chillin and working out. I also have their Dippers, which are great for hiking and plane rides. They don't wrinkle and look great on the booty, which I have plenty of. read more

I've recently become a fan of Athleta designs from viewing their online site and I've been to this brick and mortar location twice to view some of the clothing options in person. Athleta, I believe, competes somewhat with Lululemon for yoga/lounge/active set, however I feel hands down that Athleta has superior quality, design and prices!! The clothing wears and washes well and I will hands down purchase Athleta any day of the week over Lululemon. I go to the gym or yoga classes usually 7 days a week so it's important for me to have workout clothing that holds up well, is functional and also fun to wear This particular location of Athleta (and you don't often find their stores around town) has friendly staff that makes you feel welcome and comfortable when you walk in. I like the fact that they have petite sizes in their work out pants. Overall an appealing retail space, with excellent service and products. I enjoyed my shopping experience a couple of weeks ago. Needed a pair of "nice" joggers so I decided to stop at this store. The staff was so helpful and the selection was terrific. I was able to try on several pairs and what sold me was they offered free hemming! I'm 5' 2" so standard sizes are ALWAYS an issue. I love my flannel lined, utility joggers. I'll be back soon to check out some hoodies. I wanted to leave this review because I had such a difficult experience at the Lululemon store in Union Square. Everything was too long and the staff didn't offer to let me try on anything, so I left empty handed and the atmosphere was rather gloomy. They have the best employees here! They are all so incredibly nice and helpful! I love their shopping bags, it's reusable plastic and so stylish in grey and purple! Had to make a special trip here to try on all the clothes I have been eyeing online! Another plus is there's a bathroom inside the store. I love the Athleta brand for yoga clothes. The patterns are just so pretty compared to boring lululemon clothes. And for yoga I want yoga inspired prints. Lulu is just so boring and conservative, no funky patterns. All of my Athleta yoga clothes say they can go in the dryer! Nothing so far says line dry. If the store doesn't have something in stock you can order it from their computer with free shipping. They have several large screen Apples to do this on. What annoys me about the brand is tons of things are out of stock online yet it changes daily! One day my size and color will be in stock, the next it's not, the 3rd day it's back in and the 4th day it's out again. Drives me crazy! What I don't like is the no sale section in the store, the pants fit small and you can't return online stuff to the store. The staff is very nice, but I had a really bad experience at check out. I was exchanging an item I received as a gift and had the original receipt for, and the sales person returned it to original source of payment without waiting for me to confirm it was mine and then could not reverse the return. So I lost the item because i was not going to go back to the person who gave it to me to ask for another gift. They offered me a 20% discount on one of the 3 items I was purchasing which was a small fraction of what I lost. The sales person said she tried "making it right" with the discount. It was so disappointing because I don't take time to go to the store these days because I'm juggling work and child during Covid and then I had this experience. read more

I am a Banana Republic die hard. I live and breathe in BR. At any given time, I'm probably wearing Banana Republic. For some reason, the same can't be said for Gap or Old Navy (probably because their sizes run small and therefore make me fatter than I actually am). So when the company opened an athletic chain, I was in like Flynn. I bought a TON of stuff online for my trip to Costa Rica, and was thrilled to get the email that a store would be opening on Fillmore, conveniently located in my favorite SF neighborhood. I went in shortly after the grand opening, and dropped a little bit of change here on a long sleeve spandex thing, capri spandex things, and a desperately needed sports bra. The store is nice. It's laid out a little funny (when I was looking for capri pants, I immediately went towards the pants on the right side, but they were not there). I think it's organized by sport rather than by clothing type, which isn't unusual. Which was disappointing is that when I explained exactly what I wanted in the capri spandex type thing, I was told they didn't have it. Ooooookay. I eventually found some myself in the running section. No biggie, but since I hate asking for help, if I actually do, then I expect to get help. As far as the help, it's a little too much. Everyone's nice, and some people love that kind of attention, but I like to shop in peace. Maybe they are bored, and I'm certain that it goes towards individual sales, but I'll remember the person who left me alone rather than the person who hounded me. And I guess it's nice that they write your name on the outside of the dressing room, but....I guess that's just me that doesn't like it. One gripe: after two wears, both my spandex things started to unravel. I literally had strings hanging off of me everywhere like a puppet. I took them back and was able to exchange them with no questions asked. Problem- the stuff I exchanged them for is starting to do the same thing. For the price, I expect better. A less disturbing version of lululemon, but still not really "Sportswear" As a guy; I don't understand this place. Want technical wear? Go to REI or other sports-specific stores (like sports basement) and buy gear that's aimed specifically at your sport. Brands like Mountain Hardwear, Burton, Rosignell, Pearl Izumi, Castelli, , Capo Forma, Louis Garneau, etc all have laser-like focus to perform best for their respective sports. The clothing here is like "sports-lite". Clothing designed for casual sports, and aimed more for folks who like to look sporty going to the mall or cafe or doing other "sporty-ish" activities. Also, this place is definitely for rich folks. Rad. Still, 3 stars because it doesn't carry that cultish Lululemon vibe that apparently based on that brand founder's fetish for Ayn Rand. read more

There are hundreds of Athletas, but not every location provides this level of service. Places that receive five stars on Yelp usually have a personal backstory or are just so outstanding that it is impossible to rate them lower. While there are many Athleta locations, this is the only one awarded 5 stars. Here's why: Besides the fact that it is one of the largest locations and has great sales, the customer service here is what sets it apart. I was so excited to find, on sale, a pair of awesome leggings. But wait, they weren't leggings, they were swim leggings! Whoops, but who cares. I'll be out and about wearing them as leggings because these were the most comfortable and cute leggings ever. The superb service started with the extremely friendly employees who were so willing to help, despite the fact that my beloved leggings were on sale and my sole purchase that day. (Don't worry, I have bought 100s of dollars of full price items. Their business is not in danger from my one well priced purchase.) The fact that this level of service is the same no matter the purchase is a testament to the employees (yes, they are people and friendly) and also the level of training this store provides. Furthermore, I noted that the leggings were slightly too long and they used the in-store tailoring to shorten them. Finally, the cherry on top, they usually close at 7 PM making it difficult for me to pick up the leggings after work. I called in at about 7:10 explaining this, and they were more than happy to let me drop by at 7:30 even though the store was closed. Now that's service with a smile! Athleta on Fillmore, you rock! Their no-hassle return policy is fantastic. Being able to put anything to the stand-up test that it can get through a tough workout, and know that if it doesn't hold up you can bring it back, is what makes this store worth any visit. Gap was founded on being able to provide you with basics that you can wear everyday in life - simple and unfettered. Banana was founded on basics that you can wear everyday to work in cream, black, white, grey, and the occasional aubergine. Old Navy was founded on basics in numerous colors, that were cheap to make and only meant to make it through half a season, but at least you were cute for that pool party. So, it's no great stretch that to walk into Athleta is to understand that you're going to be able to walk out with basics for your workout, not tons of styles, not tons of colors, but it gets the job done. And if it doesn't get the job done, you can bring it all back and look for something that does. read more

I'm giving 5 stars, not only for their products, but because of their FREE "in-store" workout/yoga classes. lulu used to have free yoga classes at all locations, but they stopped. as for the products, athleta definitely has wider range of athletic-related clothes (i.e.: yoga, winter sports, hiking, surfing, etc) than other stores like lululemon, lucy, lorna jane. although, athleta is a little more "north face" than the other stores... i used to go to lulu, but recently, i haven't been impressed..i think the quality has gone down a lot even before this "see-through" yoga pants ordeal. athleta's clothes are better priced than lulu and the store is much easier to maneuver around than the other store providing a nice "urban" chalet style. ...one last thing... all the models in athleta catalogue are athletes and really inspire me to be a better athlete. i'm going to try their "boot camp". read more

Thank GOD for an Athleta store (FINALLY) in San francisco! And thank GOD they carry 32D sports bras (and even ones that just go by XS, S, M... which still fits pretty well and offers descent support), because it is notoriously difficult to find good sports bras close enough to my size (I'm actually bandsize 30 but 32 is doable). I also LOVE that they offer 100% satisfaction guarantee and that if I change my mind or find issues with my purchase I can always bring them back. I tried tons of bras and sportswear while I was there, and was in their changing room for a long time, but I did not feel rushed and the staff were not pushy. I really appreciate that. I am planning to go back there soon to get more things as I am planning to do more yoga over the next couple of months and I can never have enough good outfits for that : ) The only (and pretty big) issue with Athleta as well as Lulu Lemon/other high end yogawear brands) is that the products are really very expensive for something you will be sweating in. It is also very rare for them to have sales and things that are on sale are often just not that great, or have limited sizes and colors. I really wish they come down in price a bit, or at least offer sales or some kind of incentive for their customers. read more

I need to stay away from here. I came into buy capris in sale and had to refrain from buying the cutest sweatshirt. Who knew yoga and studio wear is so beautiful but not so wallet friendly. The difference between Athleta and Lululemon is that they actually help you here. And they have sales and special deals. They have a wide range of lines and their tops actually have support for larger twins. I don't have to worry about them falling out while being upside down or in a downward dog. I'd been eying this place on my last few jaunts to Pac Heights, but hadn't actually crossed the threshold until this week. I'm not in the habit of gushing about retailers, especially corporate thug chain stores but I have to say that Athleta pretty much "wow"'d me. Here are my impressions and highlights: 1) the place is spacious & high tech with Apple computers set up for catalog browsing and feedback surveys. The store has high ceilings, good lighting and its super roomy and easy to navigate with spacious & well planned dressing areas with little exterior chalk boards for personalizing the fitting rooms....a nice touch, so that no one barges in on you when you're in your skivvies. 2) If Lululemon mated with Title 9, the offspring would be Athleta. 3) Great selection of workout clothes, yoga wear , vacation wear, resort wear in wide array of colors, including feminine patterns and colors. Their selections of soft colors and girlie styles far exceeds that of See Jane Run, REI, and Sports Basement....all whom seem to favor unflattering monochromatic styles unsuitable to my sensibilities. 4) The staff is warm and friendly. Nancy was the sales associate / personal shopper who procured countless items in various sizes for me. She is really approachable and she's genuinely warm without that fake retail friendliness I've experienced at other places. You might want to ask for Nancy by name for her expertise. 5) The website has a clearance sale component to it. 6) It's in a great neighborhood with a bounty of restaurants and salons so you can eat and shop and beautify yourself all along Fillmore if you want to. I dropped a couple hundred smacks here. The prices are reasonable and products are attractive but I'm leaving 4 stars until the quality and longevity of these snazzy new get-ups can be determined. 5 stars, though, for Nancy and her cohorts. I've never had problems shopping here, but it does upset me to read the other reviews stating some SAs harbor racial biases. On to the products: most people I know live and die by lululemon. Some have stated that they can't imagine athleta living up to those standards. Well, I think athleta products are great and more versatile than lululemon. There's a particular legging that I've purchased in several different colors and in both cropped and full leg. I love them bc I can wear them out and about, hiking, and to the gym. They also have plenty of pocket space without being bulky and a herringbone pattern. Every time I wear them, I get compliments. I hope they never get discontinued. Unlike lulu they have gear for a variety of situations (I.e. Even hiking/outdoors clothing in summertime) and even some more casual clothing. I like the versatility of their clothing and think hey are high quality. Bonus, you don't have to wear what everyone else is wearing. read more

I think I come here too much because one of the sales associates always recognizes me when I walk in. Their stuff is very cute and it can be pricey. I think Lululemon's more expensive. The staff is always nice and helpful and they know their stuff! I love their shopping bags - you can reuse it to go grocery shopping, shopping, and even for your lunch! It's right next to Starbucks so you can either grab a drink before or after your visit! They also have a running group for all levels on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings! Athleta has changed my view of workout stores. They enthusiastically cater to every person, every shape, height, budget, color, and cloth preferences. I wanted something more cotton-based than was available at the other workout stores. Synthetics just don't work out for me. Athleta had a good selection. Amazingly, their 'Return Any Time for Any Reason' includes if you've worn it for a workout and it didn't work out. Their alterations are free, and they'll ship online items to your home for free if you order them in store. It's an awesome shopping experience for anyone who is tired of the sheep mentality, overpriced, overcrowded, fake-fabric Lemon place. Enjoy this find. read more

Athleta is what happens when you arrive in San Francisco, realise the days are warmer than expected and you neglected to pack accordingly. Athleta is the solution to a shirt to change into on a warm sunny day before you set out on a walking expedition. Having not packed something suitable for walking around on a warm day, I stopped into their Fillmore St store and discovered their 60% off sale rack. Their range is for active living bunnies with pieces to take you from yoga, running, or just giving you the knowledge you're wearing comfortable gear (and look good) as you run errands around town. I was surprised by the prices as I'd expected them to be akin to Old Navy. Most tops, for example, range from $30-$60. Basic tights are around $70. This seems to be in line with some Australian fitness clothing brands that I'm familiar and the quality of the items I tried on in store seem to be in line with the price tags. Even better, I'll admit, I'm chuffed that the pieces are made to fit real people (you know what I mean) and if you choose right are pieces you don't have to be working out to wear them! read more

It is really hard for me to give a poor review, but this was one was fully earned. Sunday afternoon I walked in looking for a specific item. Their skinny stretch jeans, which are the most comfortable and flattering jeans for a great value. The moment I walked in the security guard greeted me, I continued to walk with purpose try to located the jeans. Five sales associates were in the store with no clients. Three were tunnel vision working on what looked folding projects. The other two by the register chit chatting. All five ignored me, I continued to look for the jeans until I found them on my own. Finally, came across them. A sales person with bright burgundy color hair happened to be working on a project on the rack next to the jean table. I said hi and asked her if there had any other colors available, her answer was a simple no and walked away not disclosing any information about color availability needles to say offered help. I took a couple of sizes and color options of the jeans and went on a fitting room hunt. As I approached what seemed to be the fitting room another sales person intercepted me and asked me "Do you want to try those jeans?"..hhhmmm was I that obvious? She placed me in a room and walked away without saying her name or why ask mine, or why even bother to say... I will be back to check on you! The fit of the jeans was perfect but needed a smaller size, poked my head out of the fitting room and the there was no one around, of course! I walked out and went to get the right size. Mind you, the fitting rooms are in the back of the store and the jean table right in front of the store. On my adventure from the back to the front of the store, yep, no one offered help, at this time all sales associates were on the sales floor. Went back to the fitting room once I had the right size. As a very considered client I folded the rest of the jeans that didn't work and placed them on a bar to make the sales people work easier and also respect for the garments. Well, annoyed about the rather poor service but thrilled to find great jeans I marched to the register "chit chat" headquarters. I placed the jeans down and handed her my card, she asked me... a A tall blond woman, the one that actually was never engaged in any task other than chatting asked me... Do you want to pay for this?... Hhhmmm (seems like the obvious is not that obvious here). Yes! I would like to pay. She asked bag or tissue, I said bag please. Handed me the "bag" with no additional comments like thank you for example. The products and value are great. The hiring has to be more balanced in order to really drive business and deliver an average client experience. Certainly the Store Manager of this location needs additional training to be able to run a business. The Gap offers great training tools and programs. read more

*chandler voice* Could this place BE any better???! On my daily walks in my favorite neighborhood I stumbled upon Athleta. It was so welcoming with their bright colors of apparel, friendly staff, and easy to navigate layout. I've never been to one of their stores but Lululemon is a 10 second walk for me so I was happy to find a place in this neighborhood that was reminiscent of Lulu. I was greeted by two friendly girls and browsed looking for some new work out pants for yoga and my kick boxing class. I had some questions between the two and was helped and shown a fitting room immediately. What I like was no one was trying to "sell" me on certain apparel. Every question was answered and I was given suggestions for what fit my body type best. Their bathroom is also very nice. A changing table along with great soaps and sanitizers. I finally decided on a long sleeved top and comfortable pants. The total came to around $100 but I know I will get my moneys worth out of these. I work with my trainer twice a week along with going to 24 hour 4-5 times a week. And with my hot new bod I can afford to drop some cash on reliable work out clothes. I agree it would be nice if they had sales. I'm a full time student along with working 20 hours a week so it would definitely be an incentive for me to come back in if they had promotions or sales. Let me start by saying that my mom had called just yesterday to ask about the swimsuit selection. We were told that the Athleta store had a variety of styles and sizes available and that they were having their semi annual sale. Naturally, we were so excited to hear this, especially so late into swimsuit season. We went into the store today and were very disappointed to find a very small section for swimsuits. We were even more frustrated to find that the regular priced items were mixed in amongst the sale items. A saleswoman tried to help us but ended up not being very helpful at all. She offered to check in back so some smaller sizes and unfortunately came up empty as well. Now, when we experienced this yesterday at Anthropologie, the saleswoman offered to order the correct size online for us, with free shipping as well!! The people at Athleta did not offer this to us. We tried to salvage the shopping trip by trying on the right sizes of regular priced items. We shopped a bit more for other things and went to find the dressing room. There were probably 4 workers just standing around and only 1 person working the dressing room area. While we tried on our items, someone else asked if we were finding everything okay. My mom slipped out to ask her about the sizing on a particular swimsuit top. All she wanted to know was if the length on the tankini would be the same or shorter on a smaller size. The woman responded "the top will fit differently on everyone." Uh... Duh. I understand that. I also get that we were asking a pretty specific question but shouldn't she know a bit more about their own product?! Or couldn't she have looked it up and found the exact measurements?! After striking out on all accounts, we had no choice but to leave and hope their website offers better customer service... read more

I LOVE Athlete clothing. I usually buy online, and save store visits for returns, exchanges, etc. They have a great "Sweat it out" policy that they will exchange or return any item you don't like, even after wearing it! I've only ever had to do this twice. Once in DC, once here. This store was GREAT. The sales staff were super friendly. I purchased a cashmere sweater online, and it came with a hole in it!! The girls here helped me pick out a new one, and I was in and out in like 4 minutes!! Unfortunately, I now have 2 holes in the sweater I got there. I'm thinking it's a problem with the cashmere they use..?? Who knows. But I will be back in next week to exchange it again!! BTW, UNLIKE LuLu, these clothes are VERY well made of durable, work out materials. These are designed to be worn by actual people who really do sweat and work out. AND they look great. I bought an adorable jacket in a bright blue that has caused me to receive tons of compliments...and I got a great discount for being a personal trainer! hooray. Compared to Lululemon, the prices are lower but the clothes lack the craftsmanship and the luxurious feel of Lululemon athletic wear. More the caliber of Lucy or Nike or Adidas apparel with similar cuts and materials. The pants will not work magic on your ass the way Lululemon will, but the jackets and some of the tops are really flattering. Glad to have this store in my neighborhood. read more

I've never actually been into an Athleta store before. The space is huge, and I love fitness, so I was really excited to shop around. As soon as I got in, I was greeted by the store manager. I'm not sure what her name was, but by the way she carried herself I could tell she ran the store. I was greeted next by Kelsey, who is a taller woman with an edgy pixie cut hairstyle. She asked if I ever shopped in Athleta and informed me of their generous sizing, so to size down. I began perusing and tried on this cozy, long-line open cardigan in front of a mirror. Kelsey came back and asked how I liked it, then helped me into a smaller size and offered different colors. She then asked if there was anything specific I was looking for, which I replied I actually needed a water resistant hoodie to wear underneath my new Gore-tex snowboarding jacket. She showed me some different styles that fit my wants and needs, and could have landed a sale but unfortunately they ran out of my size! She wrote the style name of the hoodie so I could order it during a different time. I was so pleased with Kelsey's service because she didn't seem robotic and was very genuine. read more

Been meaning to visit Athleta for a long time, But seeing how this store is a toll fee and 1 hour away, it is hard for me to make the time to get there. Well, I finally made it! Their stuff is very cute! I wanted to spend a lot more then I did. The pants fit wonderful and are a perfect everyday pant! I am petite and sometimes skinny build. Finding pants that I don't have to get hemmed to my height is a rarity! It's not the old lady fitness wear that you might think. It is very stylish workout, yoga, pilates, lounge wear. Prices are good, not outrageous. Employees were super nice and helpful! read more

ATHLETA v. LULU? Bottom line: If you run at night, you'll be visible, but your ass won't look as good as in Lululemon. This just opened in Pac Hts. Being a fan of athletic apparel, I'd been curious about Athleta vs. Lululemon. But Athleta was online, except for their other store in Mill Valley, which I ain't trekking to. First, this store is rather spacious, kind of overwhelming, actually, esp for the neighborhood. Staff was friendly and cheery. It's all women's clothing/athletic accesories (unlike Lulu, which has men's stuff) and there are tons of variety. Almost too much for my preference (e.g.: they have sweater dresses here). PRICES: Comparable to Lululemon, perhaps 5-10% less on average. THE CLOTHES: I examined some of their jackets and tanks. They seemed basic and cute, but didn't blow me away. The fit seemed more "mature" and generic than Lulu. Didn't seem to have the flattering fit of Lulu. They have more sweater-fabric things than Lulu. In general, more lounging-type clothes than Lulu carries. Basic colors. I like the colors, designs and most importantly, fit at Lulu better. Athleta pants fit me weird, not flattering like lulu. (If I want stretchy pants that make me feel frumpy, I'll stick to my $19 champion C9 from target pants!) I will wait until I know from word of mouth that their clothes hold up or their prices drop. Otherwise, I see no reason to convert from Lulu and its butt-astic pants that last for years. (And I know this sounds weird, but I like the quirky/community feel/philosophy of Lulu stores better. Athleta just felt rather corporate in comparison). ONE AREA WHERE ATHLETA EXCELS: They've got a lot of clothes with large reflective patches, good for night running/visibility. And for this reason, more practical than Lulu's small reflective logo label. read more

Went in today in search of some good walking pants, walked out with a super soft sweater, a work shirt, work pants, AND walking pants. I love athleta clothing but I felt I needed to write a review because the ladies working this store really gave me an outstanding shopping experience: cake pops, macarons, mimosas? heck yes! And they were so patient with me when I asked for 20 different sizes. They also helped me find the sweater in the right size at a different store. Thank you! read more

Second time at this store and I've had good experiences with the staff. My second time I had an amazing customer service from Susan ( if I remember well), she was beyond helpful. I highly recommend this place, affordable, flattering, cute, comfortable and great working out clothes!!! read more

Went here not knowing they never carry sale items here-- only online. All good though. I had an online bag to return and thought I might be rejected because it was a sale item-- but no, the sales associate was INCREDIBLY kind and the transaction was fast and efficient. yay! read more
