FKN Bread has yummy bakery items that are easy to pick up and always freshly baked. I loved the scone and am looking forward to coming back to try other items. Friendly staff, parking available nearby.

Not only does the name captivates you, but so does their bread. Had to make a stop here when I went to go visit the mission. They make fresh bread every morning and said the flavor that sells out the most was the jalapeño cheddar. That's exactly what I got. The crust was thick, the inside was chewy, and the jalapeño to cheddar ratio was good. The staff here were so friendly. My only regret was not coming sooner in the day to try their baked pastries they offer as most were sold out in the late afternoon.

I would give this place more like 3 1/2 stars. They had been on my list for awhile since we always go to brunch across the street and I had been wanting to try them. I got a banana bread/cake slice and it was good. I really liked the cream on top. The sourdough cookie was not my fav. It was very dry. I think I spent almost $8-10 on two items. It's very pricy for 2 pieces of bread. I would come back to try their sandwiches.

Amazing sourdough. I love bread and this place is dangerous for me. I want to move in! Get there early before they sell out. Try the different flavors. The rosemary garlic and classic flavors are my favorites. Well, unless there's Italian Parmesan or ...... just try it!

They sell out of most pastries before 10am on the weekend, and with good reason! I hear the bagels are so good, so I'm excited to try them next time. We got the almond croissant and chocolate chip oatmeal cookie. Both were delicious, but the croissant was especially yummy. The service was quick and friendly. The inside is small but has a cute mural for photos.

Stopped by FKN Bakery while my wife was at a doctor's appointment and decided to grab a couple of cookies (I'm a big cookie fan and always down to try a new spot). Glad I did -- these were very good. I went with the salted chocolate chip and the peanut butter dark chocolate. Both were crispy on the edges, soft in the middle, generously sized, and reasonably priced. Easy 4 out of 5 stars for each. Parking was a little tricky...ended up in the back paid lot, didn't feel like paying the two bucks, so I made it a quick in-and-out mission and was relieved to come back to my car still ticket-free am I had two cookies in a brown bag - win win and a grin! Didn't get a chance to try the bread this time, but I'll definitely be back to check it out. Big thumbs up for the cookies

We were eating brunch at Breezy and was curious to see what type of bread they sell solely by their name. We got the cheddar jalopeno sourdough bread to bring back to LA. The owner was really friendly and shared that the the name is the first letter of his kids name. When I got home, I tried the bread and it was *chef's kiss* very delicious when toasted with butter. It's a vert small shop, mainly to go.

Love sourdough bread! They have delicious loaves, toasts, sandwiches and pastries. Very reasonable prices in the cutest town.

I couldn't agree more! FKN is the first letter of the Owners children's names. Thought that was a coo lil play on the name!

If you're reading this, here's what you need to do. Go to FKN bread and purchase any sourdough loaf because they're all delicious. Then go home, slice it, toast it and put some good butter on it. Thank me later. Maybe even get yourself a pastry too. They're all great but the lemon blueberry muffin hits different. Don't have a photo of it because my mouth was not patient enough. PSA: I am officially addicted to their chocolate chip cinnamon sourdough loaf. Might be one of the best things I've ever eaten and I will continue to purchase it and eat it for dessert every night. Thank you.

Some of the best bread in OC can be found at FKN Bread in San Juan Capistrano. Stopped in and got a loaf of their Italian Parmesan. Fantastic. The bread has a great chew and the flavor was amazing. Will definitely stop by again the next time I'm town.

    Trucker hats for purchase!

Ask the Community - FKN Bread

    Do you slice the bread?

We do not slice any of our fresh loaves. We are able to slice the day old classic bread when available.

Do you make a seeded (flax, chia, and or hemp) sourdough?

We occasionally make a seeded sourdough however, we will not have it for this holiday season.

How much is a loaf of sourdough jalapeño bread?

    It is $12

Do you have any gluten-free scones?

    We do not, so sorry.

When will you be making your Christmas stollen?

Yes, we will! It will be available Friday- Sunday (12/22-12/24)

    Do you sell your starter?

We are happy to give you some if you bring in a mason jar. We discard so much we don’t sell it but we always have extra.

How can we call!? I had questions about what I bOught and how to store it but no phone?

Hi Drew, you can email us at hello@fknbread.com

Do you have gluten free scones or GF pastries?

    Hi! We do not. Sorry!

    Do they make rye bread?

Hi Frank, We do not make bread that only contains rye flour. We do use rye in our sourdough but, it is a small…

    Is there whole grain sourdough?

Our sourdough contains rye, whole wheat, and artisan bread flours. Thank you!

Is anything gluten free available? It would be an absolute blessing for my gastroparesis :)

Unfortunate, no :( but lots of fermented sourdough items that naturally contain less gluten.

Deep fried goodness on top of caramel and banana sweetness makes your heart skip a beat. This is what all bear claws should aspire to be. This is the first time John, one of the owners wasn't there (but I get it, they opened a second location in Utah). Yet, the people who work here generally seem happy about life. I mean do they pay them in donuts?! There's talk about JD Flannel and Oliboli in Tustin duking it out for top spot, but the gap has only widened today for me. No disrespect to Oliboli because they're very good, but these donuts are on another level (cheaper/better value too). I only go here yearly, but I need to change that. My family and I waited, and eventually a name-less voice called out "Vietnamese coffee" into the void. I went up, said thank you like a functioning member of society, and got a full eye roll in return before she returned to washing dishes. Iconic. Here's the twist: the coffee was genuinely great. So great that I left happy despite the fact that I technically had zero human interaction with another human. Woo, 2026, the future is here and she's stirring your latte in silence. The drink I ordered was made incorrectly and did not match what was advertised (they added chamoy throughout the drink instead of just on the rim). I politely brought it to their attention and even asked if I should throw the drink away or leave it on the counter -- I was told to leave it there, which I did. They remade the drink, but then attempted to charge me AGAIN for the corrected version, despite the mistake being entirely on their end. At that point, I declined and said I didn't want it anymore. What happened next was beyond unacceptable -- the employee gave BOTH drinks to the next customer, including the one I had already drank from. That is a blatant health and sanitation violation. There is no scenario where a used drink should ever be re-served to another customer. This goes far beyond a simple mistake. Between trying to double charge and re-serving a contaminated drink, this reflects extremely poor training, lack of oversight, and disregard for basic hygiene standards. I will not be returning, and I strongly question how this location handles food safety behind the counter. Management needs to address this immediately.
