    Chocolate Donuts

Came here on a very wet day and surprisingly how tasty their Lox and Bagel is! So hearty and beautiful, filling up to the top with cream cheese, lox, avocado, tomato, onion, and capers. I had them all in a plain bagel and it was perfect! Service is very warm. While the cafe is simple nothing else matters here except its delicious Lox and Bagel. And of course I needed to try a maple donut to end my sumptuous meal.

It's not that easy to find a place that does a great bagel, lox, and cream cheese. But at Rose Cafe & Donuts, they do a great one! It's one of the best Lox Bagels I've had in Orange County. My wife and I both ordered the Lox Bagel (she had a plain bagel; I had the sesame seeds one). Piled on the two halves of the open-faced bagels were high-quality lox, lots of cream cheese, plenty of crunchy capers, avocado, arugula, tomatoes, and red onions. All of the ingredients were very fresh --- and even though it was the end of the day for the cafe (near 2 pm), the bagels were soft and delicious. Really first-rate. After devouring the lox bagel, we then got a terrific donut, covered in a maple glaze. Yum! We ate inside the cafe (it's a simple venue). The woman who served us and the owners were very friendly. The food was so good that it's worth taking a drive to eat there. And I'll be back!

Was on my way to work in Laguna, and wanted to bring donuts. The wonderful Yelp brought me here. Helpful that it's close to a freeway exit, and there's plenty of parking. Ambiance is simple, and inviting. The reviews talk about breakfast burritos, so that would be interesting to try in the future. I will primarily focus on the donuts and service, which were both amazing. Love the variety of donuts, including donut holes. Nice to be able to bring 12 donuts and 12 different donut holes (powdered, sugar, cinnamon, sprinkles) lots of different options including the delicious apple fritters, croissants, and traditional donuts. My biggest compliment is to the service. So nice to be greeted with a smile, complimentary donut, and even asked to bring the donuts to my car since he knew I was holding a toddler in one arm! Going out of the way is so sweet, and is gonna earn someone a 5 star Yelp review

My husband and I were craving a breakfast burrito after our one night stay at Doheny State Beach Campground and we came across Rose Cafe & Donuts. We came early Friday morning and it was packed. There were a lot of regulars where the owners knew their orders and everyone that worked there was so friendly. We ended up ordering the Supreme burrito to share (egg, sausage, bacon, ham, hashbrowns, and cheddar), maple donut, and a blueberry cake donut...they even added an extra blueberry donut for free! The Supreme burrito was delicious and I loved how there was so much filling compared to the tortilla. Most breakfast burritos i've had had way too much tortilla but this one had more filling. It was cut perfectly in half and the presentation was gorgeous. No wonder this place is a hit! Friendly service and amazing breakfast burritos. Next time I really want to try the ones with avocado in them :) Will definitely be back to this place whenever I am in the area!

Was craving a breakfast burrito on my way to San Diego. Decided to stop by here since it was off the freeway & im glad I did! They had a lot of breakfast burrito options and I ended up going with the supreme and grabbed a donut as well! Craving was satisfied and the service was great! Greeted with a smile and everyone was nice & friendly! Definitely recommend this spot

Consistently good. No wonder it is crowded all morning. Top 5 of not top 3 breakfast burritos in the San Clemente area. Supreme Breakfast Burrito: eggs, cheese, ham, bacon AND sausage. A marvelous combo. Enormous. I eat 1/2 for two breakfasts. The Wife loves the classic breakfast burrito with bacon. Huge apple fritter takes me 4 days to eat. The Wife loves the bacon maple donut. This time my fritter was pretty hard. I'm sure it's fresh, but maybe over cooked? I still ate it all!! Also, the salsa was a bit lacking. Can't put my finger on it. This place rocks and you should go. Owner is super nice and all employees friendly. I'll be back again and again. Go. Eat Well. HAVE FUN!!

First time here! The combo sandwiches were very fresh, savory, crispy, flavorful, and delicious. Also the nacho cheese Doritos were super crunchy and really tasty, and the soda was refreshing, too. Good service, nice atmosphere, and I had an excellent experience today.

    Supreme breakfast burrito with everything

We got the Supreme burrito. One without cheese and ham. These burritos are meaty. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the hash brown was crispy. The ratio of the ingredients was perfect and every bite was tasty! The breakfast burritos from Rose are definitely in my top two. We ordered takeout and my husband said the service was fantastic! Rose Cafe will definitely be one of our go two spots!

This store is really a one stop shop for everything breakfast. You want donuts, they have it... burritos, yep... sandwiches, sure.... Coffee, of course. I was making my way down South for a couple of hikes and I stopped here for a burrito which I can have for breakfast and lunch. At least that was what I was hoping for, just a very large burrito. I ended up with the CA burrito which has bacon and ham and sausage and eggs and avocado. I did not order the cheese or sour cream. The burrito did not disappoint... It was huge! I didn't know it, but what I ordered was one of the most popular item and I can see why. The burrito was truly large enough for me to have as both breakfast and lunch on the trail. The donuts looked so good but I refrained from getting one. Parking was easy. The service was super friendly and there appears to be a lot of regulars. Small inside and outside seating available. Please come visit to create your own experience.

Nicest people, great vibe, best donuts Meant to come here ever since seeing 'Donut King'- going to have to make up for lost time because so darn good. Including a big Homer Simpson sized donut:)

Perfect start to the day when someone with good energy welcomes you their donut shop. Service was amazing the owner seems very appreciative of every customer. I live in LA and work sometimes in San Diego county, definitely coming back again.

Delicious breakfast burrito - not too big and not too small! The workers were friendly, and it felt like a small town vibe bc so many people were there from the community! Easy to pick up a sandwich or donuts and have a beach picnic

    Lots of home made donuts.

The bread bowl that arrived alongside the chowder worked well to soak up the pasta's sauce. They didn't offer a traditional calamari for appetizers but they offered a very tender steak of calamari into a sandwich that was great. The fish tacos were good, but just that. Service was good but, perhaps it's policy to not refill glasses of water, tea or soda. I was dry by the time we had finished. The deck outside was pleasant except I made a comment to our table that "this has to be the only patio that is louder than inside". The staff clanked and clunked every dish, table setting and chair. It was very loud and occasionally startling. The deck was made from wood planks and the sound of the chairs being adjusted brought back undesired military memories. And the birds (pigeons mostly) will take off and land without warning and scare just about everyone. Otherwise a great place to get your fish on. CritDicks

I wish I did sooner! I past by this place on my way to work every day. Literally. Its on route for me and I never thought to myself to eat breakfast here nor check it out, I know on the days when I head back home it's always pack and people be waiting for a table. And that's on a sunny day. Well I was wrong for thinking oh it wouldn't be crowded on a rainy day. NOPE. I was sooooo wrong. It was PACKED and busy. Ain't even the rain gonna stop people to get some good food. What supposed to be a long day at work, tournament was cancelled last minutes and my staff was really bummed because we did travel to work. (I work two jobs and the other is a bit of commute to get to) so with that I was thinking, heck, it's still early in the morning (7am on sunday, a rainy sunday) and suggested breakfast. A bit of yelp search, i stumbled on Antoine's and saw a couple of Elites reviewed and ask my staff if they wanted to eat here. Took less than a couple of second but everyone agreed. By the time we got there (around 10am) it was packed and the rain was just picking up because before we got here, the car in front of us hydroplane and skid off the road and hit the curb. Yet, this place was still pack and parking was full. (We found street parking near Starbucks) I had my staff placed our name down since she lives closer, but they won't see you until all your party is here and that's fine. We ended up seating at the bar and left the booth for other parties. Love the teamwork, the staff were super stars doing a rush like that, let me tell you it PACKED HOUSE and we got our food and drinks on time, no one in my party had to wait to eat and I forgot to take pictures of my staff meals, only took mines and what I got for the table to share was a croissant french toast, which I believe was their special of the day. I got the chicken fried steak and the portion are MASSIVE!!! All of us took our food home because the portion size are insanely big and bang for the buck!! Great place to eat breakfast or brunch or even a 'Team Building Breakfast Time' LOL Just happy to treating out my amazing staff on their work. I will be coming back again to try out their lox bagels and chai tea. (It was in a massive cup that reminds me of the show FRIENDS.)

The vibe is very much your classic neighborhood café not super modern or trendy, but more homey, cozy, and family-friendly. It really feels like the kind of spot that locals go to all the time. We ordered the Nutella crêpe, the biscuits and gravy (which came with sausage and hash browns), and an omelet filled with goat cheese, turkey, and spinach. Everything was delicious. The portions were solid and the quality was really great. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Pricing is pretty average, around $16 to $23 depending on what you order but for the quality and portion sizes, it's definitely worth it. Overall, I would highly recommend stopping by if you're in San Clemente and looking for a casual, cozy breakfast spot to start your morning.
