Do not buy a car here. I got completely scammed. I purchased a low miles Forester for $16,000. I was told it was in perfect condition. Within the first year of owning it the head gaskets started leaking (a major defect and costly repair). Flagstaff Auto Outlet agreed to do the repair but still charged me a couple thousand dollars for it. Less than a year after they did the head gasket repair the head gaskets started leaking again. This time I took it to an actual Subaru mechanic where I learned that when Flagstaff Auto Outlet did the "repair" they just reused the old heads and sprayed everything with copper sealant as a quick fix. Now I'm stuck with this ramshackle car that I have sunk $5000 into in repairs in the first two years and still owe $10,000 on the car loan. Purchasing this car from Flagstaff Auto Outlet absolutely financially ruined me. I feel so stupid for taking a chance on this sketchy car lot. Please learn from my mistakes. Paid close to 17,000 on down payment never got plates 18 months later truck got repoed after I didn't want to pay without a registration or plates. All I ever got was permit after permit. When the truck was repoed he "found a lot of issues with truck." Gave us back 2,000 kept the rest. Jesus Lara is a thief. read more

Worst customer service experience ever, car shoppers beware! Last month my car broke down unexpectedly and is not able to be fixed. I started car shopping and checking into possible car loans, but I have bad credit. A friend recommended Auto Outlet, which is where she got her car. I knew I would most likely need a co-signer and was told they work with you. When I went in, I met Jacob, one of the salesmen. He was very positive and said that if I could get a co-signer, I would only need one for about 3-6 months and then could refinance in my own name. My dad agreed to co-sign for a short period of time, so this was perfect. I did all of the initial paperwork (or so I thought), they called me and said that they ran the information and they would be able to work with me. I set an appointment to come in that Monday. I came in and instead of Jacob helping me, I sat down with Jesus, who apparently has no social skills and only the ability to talk fast, rude and seemed very shady about everything. He threw his co-worker, Jacob under the bus, by saying that he doesn't do the financing and could not guarantee a refinance in 6 months because of my credit. He then said they could still do it with minimal cash down. I picked out the vehicle I was looking at, he showed me all of the different interest rates, saying I was approved, but they did not know what the final interest rate would be until the bank got back to him. However, during this process (which took about 2-3 hours), Jesus took phone calls, helped other customers and got up and walked away from me as though I was not important. Finally, after talking to my dad, getting everything set and telling me they would fix the vehicle I was looking at (it had a broken seat belt latch on the driver's side, which is illegal to sell and bad rotors in the back) he said that it would be about 2 hours before they would hear back, but he would call me. He never did. 4.5 hours later I called and he was "in a meeting" and had been "busy all day selling cars" is what the secretary said when I called. I told her, well I was hoping to be one of those people, but had not heard back. She said she would have him call, he didn't. The next day I went down there and spoke to Jacob who said everything was fine, the banks are just really busy on Mondays and he would call me as soon as he heard anything or would call even if they didn't hear anything. He did not call. I called that night and no one was available. I called the next morning and spoke to Craig, the owner. He told me that the bank did not approve the loan and tried to get me to have my dad buy the car in his name and I just make the payments, which would not help my credit, nor was my dad willing to do that. He said he would try another bank and it should only be an hour. I called back, no one was available. Finally, I just gave up. Their lack of helping me, customer service and overall rudeness has yet again proven to me why I hate dealerships. I am still without a car and trying some other options but if you have damaged credit or maybe it was the fact that I was a female who knew her cars, I don't feel that they would help you. Horrible experience! I have been in customer service my whole life and I would never have a job if I treated people this badly. read more

I went to purchase a vehicle from Flagstaff Auto Outlet. I went in a said this is what I want, I am willing to pay this much with zero down payment. They went on to work out the numbers and made it all happen after offering a 300 dollar down payment which I wasn't crazy about, but I was in desperate need for a vehicle. After a couple weeks I get a call from Flagstaff Auto Outlet claiming I still owe over 900 dollars on the down payment and that I needed to pay or else my vehicle would be repossessed. This is the sketchiest business now that my eyes have been opened. I have read review after review and spoken to multiple people in town that have told me that this is their practice. They promise one thing, they show you the numbers and then they implement hidden fees and threaten to take your vehicle back. read more

I live in Grand Canyon National Park and was refereed to Flagstaff Auto Outlet by a co-worker after she had purchased a vehicle from them. At the time I was talking with Drive Time, Auto Express and all the other Arizona dealerships that work with "bad credit" and was approaching sheer frustration. If you're in this boat you know what I'm talking about, you read "$500 and a job drives you off the lot". Only to find that there are only 2 or 3 vehicles that meet that criteria and then you're stuck making payments every 2 weeks at their high interest rates. When I finally called Craig and told him I only had $800 to put down, I figured I'd get the same run around. NOT THE CASE.... He ran my credit over the phone and told me the interest would be high but if I came in with the $800 that he'd have me driving home today. So I did and it was a decision I've never regretted and the basis why a year later I purchased another vehicle from them after I hit an Elk and totaled the first car. To this date 5 of my co-workers here in The National Park have purchased vehicles from Craig, Jesus and The Auto Outlet Sales team and we all have the same view of the experience. That Craig will go out of his way to make sure he's given you an honest deal. That being said, you can expect to pay high Kelley Blue for your vehicle but here's why. They send the vehicles to 2 or 3 different shops and do an 180 point vehicle inspection before they sell it and in most cases offer a 3000 mile / 90 day Warranty on major mechanical. Basically, you're covered for your first oil change. Granted, it's not a golden parachute but it's a comforting peace of mind to have and on top of that Craig will often times offer to use their shop mechanic and get your car fixed for much cheaper than any shop will do after the warranty expires just because he values your business. Sure you might find a private seller who's selling the same car for $1200 less but does he offer that? Can he get you financed? Will he stand behind his sale when something minor breaks during the first week of ownership? I'm here to tell you that I ran into problems during the first month on both of my vehicles. Minor problems, like the throttle body cable on the cruise control broke, a CV- Axle, a vibration caused by the heat shield on the muffler, a transmission flush and Craig even got me a new muffler after I decided the after market muffler on the first car was annoying. All relatively simple breaks that didn't effect me driving the vehicle but take that to a shop and you're at almost $2000.00, cost I paid $000.00........ The financing options were what most impressed me. For the first vehicle I came in with $800 and the second $600. In both cases they offered me an extended down payment option, they basically gave me a month to come up with about $1500 before the loan even started. The loan papers were signed but that was a month were I would have been walking if they wouldn't have went out on a limb for me. Now would he do that for everyone, not sure but I think that based upon my income as a server and bartender and the fact that I've been in my job for 3 years, it was a safe call for him. For the first loan my credit was about 510 and they went with Honor Finance out of Las Vegas and my APR was 24%.... It wasn't ideal but I was comfortable making the payments so whatever. When I purchased the second vehicle Jesus told me over the phone that my credit had improved to 590 and that their working with this new creditor and he could get me approved with them and that I'm going to love the rate. Hearing that, I picked out a vehicle from the website and took the shuttle down from the Canyon. In my mind i was thinking 18% maybe 12% if I'm lucky. When I got to the dealership I seen a sharp looking 2010 Honda Civic and when I walked in the door Jesus asked what I wanted to drive. I mentioned that I liked the Civic but that it was probably out of my price range. He replied "no it's not". So I said, If you can get me in that for less that $350 a month I'll buy it - Barring anything bad on the test drive and he said "shouldn't be an issue". When I finished the test drive he had the paperwork ready and showed me what he had worked out with the bank, 4.5% APR. I'm a grown man and I almost cried when I saw it. I said, "are you sure you ran the right persons credit", he said positive.... All and all, I couldn't be happier. I had to take the car in twice within the first month for some minor repairs and both times I dreaded doing it but once I was there, the guys were great. No pressure or guilt, they just fixed the car and didn't charge me anything... In the end, I've just taken a few minutes out of day to tell you that I would do business with them again in a heartbeat and would urge you to consider Flagstaff Auto Outlet in your next automotive purchase. read more

Flagstaff Auto Outlet posted a 1971 Ford F100, 4x4 on Cars.com. I got in touch with a Jorge, and a Jesus. Over the course of a couple of weeks, a price was negotiated, and I drove out from California to purchase the Vehicle. PRIOR to departing California, I asked on numerous occasions, does is this Vehicle dented, or have rusted out floor boards. I was continually reassured that it did not. It also did not have matching VIN numbers as well. The doors had been replaced and had a Door plate from another Vehicle. THEY were not even aware of this until I let them know. When I arrived, I inspected the Vehicle. Both kick panels, including the floor boards had Hardball size holes in them. Sheet metal panels had been pop riveted in both floor boards. The bed had a metal plate welded over a huge hole. The main bed support had been rusted completely through. The front radiator support had been replaced along with the radiator. There were numerous other issues not explained. In conclusion, this Vehicle was completely misrepresented. I drove 774 miles in two days to make this purchase and was even told that my deposit was non refundable. After some negotiating, I was given a refund. But not without a verbal discussion. I would not trust or recommend these sales persons with a Vehicle purchase. read more

If we are ever in the market again for a used car we will come here first. We were a week away from expanding our family and needed a used but dependable SUV. I'd been eyeing the inventories of various possibilities online and found exactly what we wanted at the Auto Outlet. The price was on the upper end of what we would be able to afford. We decided to have a look anyway and saw that the vehicle was in great condition with low mileage for its age and ended up speaking to Jesus who made the negotiation process painless. I literally spent around a half an hour with him discussing price and finance options and we came to a situation that we were both happy with. I'd compare this to my last purchase at a dealership that took upwards of 4+ hours with the sales rep and his frequent trips to the manager's office to finally come to a fair price. This was very no-nonsense and we REALLY appreciated it. We decided to sleep on it and returned the next day and requested to set up an appointment with our family mechanic for an inspection. At this time Jesus was ending his shift but we spoke to Craig, the owner who explained that all of the vehicles underwent a deep inspection process prior to being offered for sale but that he'd be happy to set up an appointment to take the car to our mechanic as well. Our mechanic agreed that the vehicle was in great running order and in addition agreed that the deal was fair. We purchased the vehicle and Craig made the paperwork process painless and was very clear in explanation every step of the way. Fast forward a few days and suddenly experience a couple of issues unseen in the inspection processes. A couple of the power windows were slow and intermittent which was determined to be the window motor, and a belt pulley was now making a noise that did not exist at inspection time. Craig confirmed these issues, and they were repaired within a couple of days on the day the parts came in. We now have a car we love, in perfect running order, and with no issues whatsoever. read more
