Original review: Have called twice in the past 2 get days. I also left 2 voicemails,and have heard nothing back. Once was a Monday, yesterday. This place does show being closed on Mondays, so I guess I understand them not answering . The other time I called was the today, Tuesday , in which they say they're open. I was interested in getting my makeup and hair done for a work Christmas party. This place has decent reviews,and is right by my house. However, no one has contacted me back,so I'm now I'm scrambling and needing to go elsewhere. I figure,if you're a legitimate business, with a phone number and your business hours show as open, that you should answer the call or at least return voicemails left on your Google phone number with an Austin area code - that make it look like you're using to try and make yourself appear legit in this area. Austin has no shortage of good hair stylists,and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. It is unfortunate, but that's how it goes when businesses don't respond to potential new clients. I am so happy I booked flAir style lounge for my wedding! My hair/makeup and my bridesmaids' hair/makeup turned out so beautifully. Everyone kept complimenting our makeup, saying how natural it looked (I don't typically wear much makeup and neither do any of my bridesmaids. I really wanted the makeup to look natural but also really good and cohesive in photos). Ally did my services both as a trial and for my wedding and she was wonderful! She is very professional, friendly, communicative, and talented at her craft. She always responded by email or text so promptly to any questions I had. She was also very thorough and organized with the timeline and plan for my wedding day. I used my trial from Ally to take boudoir photos and they turned out SO well, my makeup and hair looked really great in person and the photos. The same for my wedding day - it all looked amazing! All the bridesmaids and both moms got their makeup done (everyone looked so so beautiful) and a few girls got their hair done. Everyone looked absolutely wonderful. The ladies at flAir Style Lounge were very professional, efficient, personable, and did an amazing job. They stuck to the timeline extremely well through all the services provided and there was never any stress that we would be running late. Been here several times to get my hair done. A few times with Erica and this past weekend with Katy. I would recommend both. Love the airstream trailer that they've made super homey and welcoming. There are a couple food trucks on the lot now and love the added options to grab a bite after getting your hair done. Booking is super easy on the Vagaro app and I was able to get an appointment within a week. Prices are comparable to most places and it's well worth the money. Erica is super sweet and professional yet very personable. She clearly knows what she's doing and how to run a business. This past weekend i was transitioning back to dark hair after being blonde for a while and Katy took what I requested and added her own spin which I loved. Looking forward to going back. read more

I am going to keep my review very vague because I didn't voice my concern to the stylist. I will explain my story so you can understand my review and the rating. I needed to find a place to get my hair cut and highlights to look my best for my brand new last minute job offer. My stylist that I had found already here in Austin who I loved (she has only styled my hair before) was out of the country. I had to find someone very last minutes and came upon Flair Style Lounge. I looked at the reviews and was impressed at what I saw for the amount of time i had to do for my research. Upon entering I liked the unique vibe and how they renovated this airstream into a salon. The two stylist that were working were nice and easy to talk to. I had gotten hair cut and highlights. My highlights didn't look like they use to me. I have been getting them for years. I was ready to get out of there since my husband flew into town so we could celebrate my new job so didn't get the closest look at what was going on. When I got home my husband mentioned that my hair looked different and not in a good way. I took a closer look and saw that it was very brassy and orange. I was not as concerned about it until the next day (today). I was like ohhhh no! I cant go to my new job with a horrible dye job. This place is not open on a Sunday so I had to take matters into my own hands. I contact my cosmetologist friends who are located all throughout the nation and also the internet. I learned I could put a toner in it myself to bring down the brassy orange look. I went to a local beauty supply store and bought the products I needed. I was scared because I had never had to do anything like this before. Anyway, I didn't take pictures of what my hair looked during this process before I added my own toner to it. That should of been an alarm to me because I normally always take a pic of my hair after I get it done. Anyway, I corrected it and I am happier now. read more

I didn't know what to expect by getting my hair colored in an Airstream....I thought I would give it a chance and I was pleasantly surprised with the result. I wanted a natural blondish color which is going back to more of my normal hair color and to cover up all of these "Super Blonde" hair (aka gray hair) that seems to multiple each day on my head. Erica ended up blended 3 different colors as highlights which gave it a very pretty color with lighter and darker blonde highlights. The inside of the Airstream is totally chic with seafoam greens and grays and cute little chandeliers. Would be an awesome studio to live in if they ever decide to stop using it for their hair salon :) Definitely plan on going back again-only wish they were parked in Mueller more often since that is so much closer to me :) read more

Erica did my makeup and hair for my wedding, as well as my mother and flower girl. She is so sweet and talented! The trailer is such a unique concept, and beautifully decorated. I had my trials done there. She came to my hotel the day of the wedding since it was already booked (I waited until the last minute to book). She did an amazing job on all of us, and was even nice enough to stay with my flower girl until her mother arrived to avoid my mother and I from being late. I have been spreading the word about this place for a while and wanted to add to the stellar recognition this particular salon has already received on yelp. First off, Flair Style Lounge is not your everyday hair salon. The salon is unique, chic, fun and...oh yes...is in an airstream! I absolutely love how ingenious the mobile salon concept is and I was blown away by how adorable the airstream trailer is in person. The inside is retro, girlie and the layout of the salon makes it feel more open and spacious than I initially thought. Erica Erickson, co-owner of the salon, is a master at hair. Called to make an appointment a week in advance for a shampoo and blow dry. The woman that made my appointment was all over the place, I ignored the fact and proceeded with the appointment anyways. No big deal, maybe she was busy? I was leaving town the next morning before my hair appointment. My appointment was at 6:00pm. The woman never showed up to do my hair, no one answered the phone when I called an hour before and after my appointment. Due to the fact that it was 6:00pm all other salons were closed or booked. We showed up and realized (because we didn't research enough to know) that this place is actually in an airstream. We hadn't heard of an airstream hair salon before but decided to try it. I got the best hair cut of my life from Linda Lopez, no exaggeration. I have long thin hair that I hate, and no one has ever been able to successfully do anything with it. Anyone that has tried to put layers in my hair just ends up making it look more stringy and thin! Erica did my hair and makeup for my wedding, and I have honestly never felt more beautiful. Both my hair and makeup turned out better than I could have imagined. Erica and Katy also did the hair for all my bridesmaids and a friend who officiated the wedding; everyone looked great and they all thought that having the FSL Airstream trailer come out to the venue was a really cool concept, and it made for some great photos! Plus, one of the things I appreciated most about that whole day: my husband and I wrote our own vows and I was extremely nervous about that part of the ceremony; Erica helped calm my nerves just by talking to me while she worked - she was such a sweet and friendly personality. And, I was last to get ready and we actually started cutting it close on time (not by any fault of FSL) but Erica kept her cool and didn't rush or get stressed (at least visibly), which helped me not feel stressed about it either. Everything turned out absolutely perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. She knows her products and is always fun and does an excellent job. She probably hates me because every time I go in I ask for a "change". But every time she is patient and pulls out the swatches. My color continually bounces from blonde to red to dark natural browns. Her creativity rocks. Every time I leave her chair I am confident my hair looks great. And the airstream Is beyond cute. If there were extra stars, this is the vendor who deserves them!!! I had the Flair Hair team out for my wedding. I met them at the Austin Bridal Extravaganza and couldn't be more thrilled that I did. I first met Erika and Ally (Co owners) when I went out for my makeup and hair trial (which I actually won in the extravaganza drawing - woohoo!). The airstream that they work out of is amazing. It is beautiful from the inside out and made for such an intimate event. Erika spent about 3 hours with me for my trial and was so patient with my opinions and open to trying everything. The team drove out to my venue in Georgetown and spent my wedding day with me and my 6 bridesmaids. Each of my bridesmaids have very different hair and very different skin types - none of which were any problem for the Flair team. They did beautiful updo's, big curls and gorgeous natural makeup with fake eyelashes included. We had so much fun, drank champagne, talked Dancing with The Stars and all 7 of us walked out of the airstream feeling extremely beautiful - all thanks to the Flair team.
