A great addition to the area! Go early as they sell out quickly. Went first thing last Saturday morning and the smell of the freshly baked pies was amazing! I ended up getting an Apple, lemon chess and frozen chicken pot pie. They have a small freezer section with pot pies that you can take home and bake (with baking instructions included). We've yet to bake the pot pie but the apple and lemon pies were so delicious! The apple tasted just like my Nana used to make. The lemon chess was like a lemon bar (which are my favorite). The filling was great (not dense like a lemon merengue) and the crust was so buttery and light. I think the price is reasonable for the quality of the product. If you want a cheap pie then go to Stop & Shop. You get what you pay for! They've got a nice seating area over to the side if you want to eat your pie with a cup of coffee there. We will return and I'm looking forward to trying the chocolate cream pie and seeing what other pies they will have to offer! read more

I purchased the large chicken pot pie and a large raspberry cheesecake. The chicken pot pie was not loaded with vegetables. Some small pieces of carrots, minced onions but certainly not "loaded" as other reviews note. The chicken, although plentiful, had a had texture to it that was a bit off-setting. At $23 it should have been much better. The raspberry cheesecake had a strong raspberry flavor, almost too much. The crust was tasty but thicker than I expected. If I return it will be to try another sweet pie but as others have noted the prices are elevated enough to persuade me otherwise. read more

The most delicious pies I've ever had. You can order the pies online the day before or you can pick a frozen one up the day of. If you order online, you have an option of a fresh baked pie or a frozen one. I do recommend ordering online that way you have a pie reserved. I went to Flaky Crust Pies for the first time today with my mother and sisterand we were so happy with our experience. When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly and welcoming server, my mother and sister ordered the chicken pot pie and I was very happy to see that they had a vegetarian option a curry and chickpea pot pie which I ordered. My mother and sister both loved their pot pies and mine was delicious as well. The crust on the pies is amazing and so buttery. We ordered a variety of sweet pies to take home and I can tell you that the coconut cream pie is so yummy. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. I have now been a few times. I've tried a few of the berry and fruit and the chourizo and rice and the curry pies. My husband and I have enjoyed each item we've tried! Staff is always very sweet and welcoming! My one star off is for the hours. There have been a handful of Sundays that I would have been there to pick up a pie for get-togethers but they are closed. They sell a great assortment of freshly made fruit, chocolate, etc pies as well as more savory flavors like meat pies, chicken pot pie, etc. There are both hot and fresh and frozen options for the savory pies so it's great if you want to take one home for later. Both small and large pies as well as single slices are sold. Little pricey but the flavor is definitely worth it (I personally have tried the meat pie and blueberry pie so far). I saw them on Phantom Gourmet and stopped by on the same afternoon. They were practically sold out but I was able to get a few frozen pies. When I got home, I put a small Chickpea Curry pie in the oven (frozen) for about an hour at 350 degrees, let it rest for about 10 minutes. I'm not vegan and not particularly attracted to curry dishes but it was very good. The crust is great, hearty, but not heavy, and perfectly shaped. And the full-bodied filling hit the palate in all the right places, with a great flavor profile. No particular spice was overpowering, but they worked together nicely. FYI, I am a local and live within 10 miles of Flaky Crust Pies, though my location says S.F. because I logged in using my Gmail account. I used to look at the location of people posting reviews and ignored any reviews that did not appear to be local (thinking they were paid reviews) until I posted a review myself and realized this. Have been waiting to try this place out after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet. Prepaid $28 for a pie and ran into a work emergency where I could not make it on time to pick it up for Thanksgiving - this is on me. I was devastated as it was the highlight of our dessert table... But my disappointment came from the fact that I never expected the bakery to just donate my pie not long after closing for the holiday (although it was a nice gesture). Irrespective if you're going to be closed for 6 days after a holiday or not, my only suggestion is to honor a grace period for your customers or make it abundantly clear that the dessert they paid for will no longer be available if they miss the cut off time. I would have totally ate and probably would have enjoyed the heck out of that week old pie. read more

We had Flaky Crust Pies do the dessert for our wedding and the pies were amazing! Ashley met with us several months before the wedding for a pie tasting and she helped us pick out the best pies and sizes for our party. We ordered apple, lemon chess and chocolate mousse pies and she delivered them all the way to our venue in Providence. They displayed beautifully at the dessert bar and our guests kept remarking how delicious they were! She even provided us with to-go containers so our guests could take left overs home with them. It was our first visit and we were looking forward to giving the place a shot. They had very limited options when we were expecting more. My boyfriend was really looking forward to a slice of chocolate cream pie, but they only had apple and lemon ready. I wanted a slice of apple pie, but they told me that they only offered slices for the lemon, each slice being $4. As a college student, that's already a bit pricey, but when the slice was cut it was even smaller than expected for that price. On top of that, I had asked for 1 slice and was given 2. I didn't mention it however; my boyfriend and I planned on sharing one, but with the size of the slice, it was probably for the best anyway. The pie tasted okay, but the price soured it a bit.
