I have always had good experiences with Whites, but I am done with them. i drove from the Pawtucket Line to Mansfield for their North country ham and egg croissant. Upon reaching home, I find they gave me a bacon and egg croissant. Okay, mistakes happen right? Well, today my husband drove from Pawtucket to the flagship store in Brockton for my ham and egg croissant. He specifically asked them to make sure it was the ham and egg. My husband and I bought a strawberry rhubarb pie as a treat. It wasn't. The pie was filled with a bright red goo and no strawberries were found in either of our slices. The rhubarb was crunchy and not cooked. The crust was thick and left an oil slick in my mouth. We threw away the remaining $25 pie. read more

I can only speak to the Apple turnover but it was a foodie-erotic experience for me. A flaky, baked curvy half moon of handcrafted deliciousness. The crust is crunchy. The filling is small bite sized apple chunks with just the right amount of sugary gooey goodness mixed in. It has some weight to it and it's definitely more than a handful. I get inflation but they increased the prices at the same time as they reduced the sizes. I bought 4 cupcakes tonight for a work thing and they are embarrassingly small. I really wish I just said forget it when I saw them out of the case. I paid $12 for 4 cupcakes and they aren't any nicer or bigger than the prepackaged cupcakes from Stop & Shop. I'm going to have to run somewhere else for cupcakes tomorrow because I'm embarrassed to present these. Just to give an indication of size, 4 cupcakes fit inside a 6x6 box with room for them to slide around. They legitimately look like stop and shop cupcakes. I stopped by yesterday on my way to a friend's dinner party for a box of treats. They have very elegant-looking desserts. I hoped and hoped that their offerings would taste just as good as they looked but unfortunately, they did not. I had sampled the vanilla cupcakes, salted caramel (dome) torte, cappuccino (dome) torte, white chocolate lemon cake, and the carrot cake. I so very much wanted to be blown away but I wasn't! The flavors just weren't intense enough for me. The total came to a little over $25 for 2 basic cupcakes and 4 desserts so they were definitely on the higher end for prices. First, the good. The pastries I've sampled (the lemon tart, cupcakes, croissants) are all excellent. I did get one M&M chip cookie that was awfully dry once, but that was an exception. The only drawback is that you have to wait until everyone who came in ahead of you has decided on their order. This would be reasonable, if people knew basically what they wanted and made their choices in a timely manner. Unfortunately, this isn't always the case. The last time I was in for about eight minutes, and the couple there was still trying to decide when I left without getting anything. No one else in the store had been waited on either, as the line was at a dead halt. There were multiple employees behind the counter, so why customers who have made their selections and are ready to get in line, pay when it's their turn and leave cannot do so is baffling. Just makes me very glad no other store I patronize has this odd system. What a nightmare trying to do errands and return home reasonably soon would be. I don't mind waiting in line, if it's a reasonable wait, but this case it's not. read more

Very clean and smells delicious. The variety and level of sophistication of the desserts is top notch. The cakes are beautiful and very classy looking. They also offer blank cookies with frosting and decorations as well as fancy fruit breads and a sorted selection of Italian lunch foods & side dishes. The staff is friendly, although triple check for an item you want because the couple next to me asked for an apple pie and the kid behind the counter went to check and said they were all out when there were two apple pies right in front of me. We go here often for pastries. My boyfriend brought home a birthday cake and a lobster tail. We were so excited and then we ate the cake. The cake itself was good but the frosting . It tasted like sugar and crisco. it was so overly sweet it ruined the birthday. Then we thought we'd share the lobster tail, bad idea. It was greasy and soggy so wet that it broke. Not sure what happened but we should have not wasted the money. You can get much better from Market Baskets, Big Y, Trader J's, Wegmans...you get the idea. So a birthday was ruined. I love this place so much I would go here everyday if I could. They have a bakery and also a mini deli section where you can pick not only bakery items but lunch and breakfast items. They have good salads that are healthy on one side. And they have freshly baked goodies which are not so healthy but who cares it's sooooo good. I knew this was the place for me when i walked in and smelt the sweet smell of the pastries and baked items. The service was polite and inviting, telling us all the best snacks and specials they had. Apart from the bakery items there is a mini deli section where you can pick up salads and sandwiches as well. My favorites are the White chocolate rum and Tiramisu pastries. Apart from that i also happened to try the almond croissant which was so good, buttery, flakey with a sweet almond paste inside. The cannolis were good as well. I wish they added more seating inside. Love White's Bakery go there every weekend to pick up a Country Loaf bread and blueberry scones, however, the last 3 weeks the size of the Country Loaf was cut in half.
