I am participating in the Rhode Island Food Fights 9th Annual Ice Cream Event and this was my second stop. I went the day it was raining all day but cleared up my late afternoon so I was nervous they would be closed. However, it was far from closed and in fact, the ice cream counter to order is inside, protected from the weather. They have the classics and basics, along with more unique flavors and a rotating flavor of the month. I went with peanut butter oreo and caramel caribou (flavor of the month). They offer different sizes and each one brings a generous amount according to the price. We enjoyed the ice cream outside at one of their picnic tables. They have some plastic traditional picnic tables, but also some stone circular tables which get a little uncomfortable over time. The ice cream was great! The only disappointing part was that the peanut butter oreo had a very light peanut butter base, but it was packed with oreo chunks so it made up for it. The caramel caribou was very smooth and packed with caramel swirls and caramel stuffed chocolate bites. They weren't overwhelming sweet which was good. They also offer half gallons of ice cream to go in select flavors including the flavor of the month as well as merchandise including tshirts, hoodies, hats, and stuffed cows. Who doesn't love ice cream. I ordered the PB 180 - basically lots of PB. I will say the only thing I would change is the PB cups. The small cups are basically just chocolate. Get some crumbled Reeses and it would be way better. I also ordered Graham Central Station, but I received 2 scoops of PB instead. Originally I was upset that there was not much PB topping, but whoa!!! PB topping on the bottom too! Service was great, she explained all the flavors. Only worth the ice cream! Went for ice cream and dinner however the actual food is not great, service took forever and the food is disappointing. No flavor and did not come out hot. The kids chicken nuggets are Dino nuggets and portions were small. Staff was slow and not helpful when asking about menu items. We came for the ice cream flights and just as a PSA that those can only be ordered inside if you are sitting down at a table as well as the fried dough sundae. Despite the food and staff the ice cream is amazing! Smooth and creamy with lots of flavor options. I would only recommend going here for their ice cream. read more

I've always loved Bliss Dairy I was the highlight of our annual family trip to LaSalette Festival of Lights we'd view the lights, and displays then stop for ice cream sundaes or soup and grilled cheeses. I like coming here for the vibe- big local ice cream restaurant with lots of booths that feel private and friendly waitstaff. There are also sometimes events in the parking lot like djs and games and stuff. It's a very local joint which is great. The ice cream is good, and they have a ton of fun sundae options. Usually they serve it in those nice glass ice cream sundae bowls which tend to spill everywhere, but on my last visit my ice cream was serviced in a plastic cup which was honestly preferable. I don't mind sacrificing aesthetics for convenience. The food itself has never wowed me. I had a Cobb salad last time, which I could barely eat. There was no lettuce on it. The mozzarella sticks weee good though. I'll keep coming here though because there's ice cream year round! read more

My wife grew up going to Bliss Bros., so when she suggested it for breakfast, I was a little hesitant as I'm very picky about breakfast. But I'm really glad I gave it a shot. The moment we walked in, I loved the vibe. The place has this nostalgic charm that makes you feel like it's still 1980, in the best way. It reminded me of sitting in a Newport Creamery booth with my grandmother. The restaurant is spotless, the staff is always friendly, and we were seated quickly in a cozy booth. I ordered the Greek omelette, and it blew me away. The spinach was gently steamed, not oily, and the eggs were cooked perfectly, light, not greasy at all. I asked for a fruit cup instead of home fries, and it was a fresh, delicious swap. My wife and I also split the s'mores pancake special just because it sounded too good to pass up and it was. I walked in unsure, but I left completely impressed. Bliss Bros. has officially become one of my top breakfast spots when I'm in the area. I opted for take out at 12:30pm, but it wasn't very busy. My grilled cheese on rye was outrageously good. It was offered w a variety of sides, I chose broccoli, rather than fries or cole slaw. Turned out it was a fine complement to the cheese. I washed it all down w a chocolate frappe which was insufficiently viscous, but because it tasted so chocolatey, I let it slide. Got the fish sandwich & it was awful! It was clearly a frozen battered piece of fish. It smelled very fishy & tasted terrible! Very disappointed because I usually love this restaurant! I don't like giving one star, but this was a bad experience. We went for ice cream and we were there for over an hour. The service was shotty at best. The young lady was quite overwhelmed and didn't inform us they were out of certain ice cream until she tried to serve us something we did not order. The dining room was run down with several broken booths that were closed off. The bathroom was a mess. The ice cream made me and my son sick. TI was there last night and was rather disappointed..the waitress was very sweet but the quality of food was just ok and the sweet potato fries were skippy to say the least, spread across the plate to look full. For the price of a wrap of $15.00 and a dollar more for the sweet potato fries I would have expected better. The prices are sky high for a burger/ice cream place. My small 1 scoop sundae was $7.00 after having a full meal. I know inflation has gone up but these prices will definitely make me think twice before going back. Even a cup of Chowder is $7.00. If you are looking for a great alternative to Newport Creamery, Bliss is it. I went for breakfast a few weeks ago, and while it was not a knock your socks off breakfast, it was very good, hit the spot, and I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. Our server was extremely polite and attentive. They seem to work well as a team. I will most definitely go back to try other meals as well as their ice cream. Bliss is where nostalgia meets tasty food and friendly service. I used to live in Rhode Island and my best friends from childhood still do. Bliss is our favorite meetup spot. We know that we can get a delicious breakfast (hello blueberry pancake bliss) or lunch (old fashioned patty melt Heaven) and indulge in a decadent ice cream sundae. The food is consistently good and the service welcoming. I love the large scale creamery vibe (think Friendly's or Newport Creamery). You can even sit at the counter! Fun for kids and grownups alike. Came here for ice cream at the scoop shop. They have lots of parking here as well as outside tables and chairs. I got a scoop of the coconut almond and it was a perfect blend of coconut, almond and chocolate chunks. They have so many flavors to choose from, a bit overwhelming reading the boards as it was my first time. The worker at the counter was friendly. We came here for burgers and fries. We ordered both medium. In my opinion, the burger was dry and bland, although the fries were good. It seemed like the amount of cheese was limited also. My partner enjoyed her burger, however. We each had a diet soda, and later, she had the brownie sundae, and I had a banana split. The ice cream desserts were done well, lots of hot fudge. I know prices have gone up, but when we got the bill, it was 60.00. Ouch! The sodas were almost 4 dollars each. That's really excessive. The burgers were around 15 dollars each. I think the waitress charged me for the half pound but only gave us the third pound as they didn't seem like half pound burgers. The restaurant itself was clean and has that nostalgic 60's decor and furnishings. It's still a nice place but I think they can do better with portions, quality and prices. read more

We opted for fish and chips because they were "old fashion-lightly battered". They looked and smelled fantastic. Served up in a biodegradable cardboard clam shell. The size was enough to feed 2 people. One bite and that's all we both could taste was the over salted seasoning that was in the batter. Couldn't scrape the batter off because it was thin.
