It was years ago since the last time I was at a Flame Broiler. This time, it may not be that long before my next visit. This location is close to a sister facility in my organization. It was clean, the staff was friendly and professional and the food wasn't all that bad. Parking here, to me, isn't all that bad because I don't mind walking. However, just watch where you park because if you park over near the In-N-Out, you could be trapped there when the drive thru line starts forming. I already mentioned the staff - so on to the food. I went for a half and half bowl. Chicken and Beef. I liked how the meat was cooked, tender and juicy, not dry. The rice - well, rice is rice. I went for white and it was okay too. I dropped some hot sauce and their magic sauce to taste, and was satisfied after I finished off the bowl, which at first, I thought was a little small. I used to go to the location on Spring street all the time, back when I used to work at GamePlay (Really cool, I know). It appears that this location shares something in common with my ex-girlfriend: both have large interiors. I'm a huge fan of their chicken bowl with green onions. Yes, it is the bee's knees. *PRO-TIP* its wonderful with Sriracha. Do keep in mind they do not provide it, so you should probably bring one with you. Their new "hot hot sauce" isn't bad though. I'd recommend staying clear of dishes with their Angus beef; it's too dry for my taste. read more

A standard Flame Broiler outlet located in the same shopping center that houses an In N Out, Einstein Bros bagel shop, and a Frostbites right past the Los Coyotes traffic circle. This location has always been tidy with efficient and friendly employees. I like getting fast food here, since the grilled meat aspect, veggies, and brown rice options always make me feel better about getting takeout. My usual is a chicken mini bowl with brown rice, carrots & broccoli (I don't care for the cabbage so I usually ask them for just carrots and broccoli), and green onions. Don't forget to get some of their delicious sauces to top your food at the self-serve station. Magic sauce is a must - basically a thick/rich teriyaki type sauce. I also add the hot green sauce - it's thick, garlicky, and has a nice kick. Parking has never been an issue here for me. In the evenings it's easier right by FB because the Einstein Bros is closed which frees up more spots. Good place to pick up a healthier, yet satisfying quick meal. read more

I always LOVE eating at local Flame Broilers. They are typically amazing places to go. They have a simple menu of rice bowls, plates, or vegetable bowls with choices of chicken or beef. Simple and easy with nice sauces to flavor up your meal. Well, sadly this location has repeatedly disappointed me. I decided to give it another try, but once again it has failed. The food flavor here is good, but my biggest gripe at this particular location is the portions they give you. The one on Spring St out here in Long Beach is way better, or any of the ones in Anaheim. I ordered more chicken, like I do at all locations, but here it's even less than a regular bowl at other locations. There's also maybe half as much rice they give you here too. The people working here are friendly though and the food tasted nice. That's why I can give it a 2 star. NOT worth the price though here. So, If you come to this location, don't waste your time buying a side of extra meat or double meat. You won't get it and you'll waste your money. Lastly, I found a bone in my chicken. I took a picture and uploaded it too. Not a small bone either. Sadly, this makes me want to never come to this location again. Today (12/27/18) I came into contact with one of the worker with a rude behavior and my bowl didn't have enough meat. His name is Robbie. When I found out that my bowl didn't have enough meat, I asked him if this was the right amount of meat, he said "you ordered mini bowl, that what you get for 3oz of meat". 5 STARS TO THEIR STAFF I felt terrible going in minutes before they were supposed to close but I really wanted some of their food. It was 5 minutes to closing and their staff was cleaning the place. Ordered two bowls to go because I didn't want them to wait for us while we eat. The staff was very nice and friendly and told us that it was fine for us to eat in and it was no problem at all. We didn't take that offer but we really appreciated it though. The staff had to remake everything because they shut things down already so it took a bit longer than usual but we were cool with that since they were willing to serve us minutes before closing. Everything was fresh and they gave us a bit extra cause they made a bit more than needed. Everything was delicious. Thank you for your service! Will be back soon. read more

While eating lunch at the Flame Broiler's Ximeno/Los Coyotes Diagonal location today at 3pm on 10/2/19 the cashier (a pretty African-American woman whose name I don't know) decided to mop the floor under my table as I sat there eating. I told her that the heavy smell of bleach was not pleasant to breath while I was eating, and she continued to mop anyhow as the dirty wet mop began to flop onto my bare toes and foot and onto my sandals. I decided to leave the restaurant abruptly without finishing my lunch because I was so mad at the level of dis-respect I experienced. I actually felt like throwing my lunch at her, or perhaps just throwing it on the floor for her to clean-up but I did not do that. As I drove home I could feel my foot's skin burning, and the bleach ended-up dis-coloring my left sandal too! WTF!!!! Train your employees to respect the guests, or close your doors for good! I'd like a new pair of sandals for one, and a refund for my ruined lunch; but a least an apology for flopping a filthy mop with bleach onto my bare-skinned foot! What a fu*ked-up experience I had today (other than the food which started out to be delicious) until that happened. read more

Been here several times and each time I come I am satisfied. Whether I eat there or if im just picking up the food, its never been bad. I always get half and half with brown rice with veggies and of course the secret sauce. Its always made the right way and its always done within 5 to 10 minutes so I never have to wait to long. Don't waste your time calling in a pick up order with tofu. You'll still wait 30min and watch at least 3-4 people get their food before you. I called in at 1:07 to this flame broiler. The cashier promptly took my order down and quoted me a time of 5-10 minutes for my regular size tofu bowl with veggies and brown rice to be ready. Perfect! I was there in about 7min. Upon arrival there was one person in front of me in line and a few people behind me. I paid and the cashier and she told me she will call me when my order was ready. I was a bit concerned because I had a quick break for work, but didn't expect it would take long so I took a seat. 15min goes by and before I know it the man in front of me gets his order as well as a man who was behind me. At that point I went to the counter to ask the cashier how much longer it would take because I'm really running out of time to return back to work. The cashier had already forgotten about me and my phone order, checks in with the cooks and told me they're still working on it but apologized for the inconvenience. The man making the food apologized as well and mentioned that they're still working on it. Unhappy, hungry and anxious I sit back down and see customer, after customer pick up there food. 30 minutes after my phone call, it's between 1:35-1:40, I go up to the counter again. I was given the excuse that the grill was full the time I called in and my order had to wait to be cooked, and it still wasn't ready. Why wasn't this information given to me the time I had called in? The man cooking looked to be concerned and attentive to getting my order to me. The cashier apologized and said at "least they're working on it!" I can tell she was trying to ease the tension but my response to her was "good because I'm about to get my money back". I was upset but tried to stay calm and keep it between me and the workers. once my order was packaged and ready I had no time for her to place my bowl in a bag. as I was walking out and made it to the middle of the restaurant the young woman yelled at me from across the room "Bye! Have a great day!!" with a sarcastic tone. Way to try and humiliate me in a public place because you gave me the wrong pick up time lady! I come here all the time with my boyfriend, and the cooks even know him by name. I've even seen this cashier before. I'm appalled at the lack of responsibility the cashier had for the situation, as well as the lack of respect she had for me and my time. The second star is because the food is still good. read more

The food is good but it's mostly rice in a bowl with some protein on top. It's expected to be like that so not really a complaint. The problem is you used to be able to get whatever hot or magic sauce you needed which you need to add flavor to all the rice but now you get one of each. It's like a tic tac in a whales mouth. Not really doing anything. If I have to pay for extra then so be it but say something when I order. But seriously an ounce of sauce for a bowl of rice? Ive been coming to this Flame Broiler since its pretty close to my work. Whenever I visit a flame broiler I usually order a Chicken veggie bowl, either white chicken or dark meat without any sauce. I wish I can give this place a higher rating but everytime Ive been coming here I've been receiving burnt chicken on a consistent basis. Usually I can handle a bit of char but the last few times I've been coming here the majority of the chicken is black and the char taste overwhelms the entire taste of the chicken. I thought maybe its because of the fact that I order without any sauce but whenever I go to any other flame broilers even on a busy time I get consistent well cooked meat. The plus side to the place is that they have a five star reward program so whenever you want to get a free drink or a free meal. #iguess read more

The staff that works in the evenings look bored as heck each time we visit. I got the regular chicken bowl with white rice and some extra green onions. I was pretty disappointed because the rice took about 4/5 of the whole bowl.. The ratio of chicken to rice was like 5 spoons of rice to 1 chicken. There was about 7-9 pieces of chicken. They were not the meaty pieces of chicken either. Small and the random parts that you don't want. Chicken was a little burnt as well. Love Flame Broiler, just not this location. Will grab some from the one on Spring St. next time. read more

I went on Tuesday, afternoon shift. October 27, 2015. Half of the chicken in my chicken bowl was undercooked. This is a nice way of saying that it was raw. This is a HEALTH HAZARD and will be reported to the health department. The management would be wise to find out who worked that shift and take corrective action. read more

First time trying Flame Broiler. I ordered the chicken bowl with a regular drink cause I saw there was Vitaminwater and the total came out to about $8.xx Service: probably the worst part of this place, the guy at the register isn't really good at his job. I got my food but I wasn't given a tray or anything, just the bowl and the pickup receipt. I went to get some utensils and saw 3 empty holes where the forks and spoons are supposed to be and I looked around to see if they're somewhere else since I never been there before, but guy just happened to replenish everything after another customer asked him to do so. Also it was weird to see people walk in and out of the kitchen, like I wasn't sure if this one girl was working there or her shift just ended or her boyfriend was an employee, but it was just strange to see. Food: it was good, not too sure about portion sizes but it was a fair amount. Kind of pricey, but it does have a great quality, better teriyaki than I've had at Japanese restaurants. I'm heavy on sauces, so I was glad that they had their sauces available. Sauce breakdown: Magic Sauce is their teriyaki sauce, very very sweet. I usually douse my bowl in teriyaki sauce but I went light with theirs. Hot sauce is not Sriracha, but more of that Louisiana hot sauce you'd find at Roscoe's. I liked it, but Sriracha would've been nice. Green hot hot sauce tasted liked butt, I thought it would be hella spicy, but naw it was just Papa John's garlic sauce disguised in green. Not a good match with teriyaki. Overall the food was good, I would go again and it's a great postworkout meal. Just a lil pricey, $6 for a chicken bowl :-( read more

What can I say...I have been on the Flame Broiler addiction since I moved out to Los Angeles. I have had the chance to experience various teriyaki restaurants, but they take the cake for consistency, quality, and customer service. This location is no different. The staff is welcoming the minute you walk in, asking how your day is going and getting on a first name basis. The ordering process is just as friendly and super efficient. The fact that Flame Broiler offers all-white meat chicken is a huge plus for the health factor. This location has awesome food and customer service. The price of eating healthy these days comes at a premium, but if I do go out of my way to eat out I will keep my business here. I come here frequently as it is the closest location to my home, and I am sure glad it is. Whether you are a new-to-LA patron or a born-and-raised local, do yourself a favor and stick with Flame Broiler. I hope this review is helpful! 5 stars! Would give a 6th if they had one! read more

I got a chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies. It was okay overall. The chicken was okay, but my rice was a bit dry. The veggies were fine and overall meal was okay, being $8 for a chicken bowl but I feel like it just lacks something when it costs $8. This place is a lifesaver! I'm on a diet right now that is extremely carb-limited, so I asked if I could have their mini-bowl with just meat and vegetables (no rice). They said absolutely, and for the same price. I loved it so much I have been back several times. I'm planning on eating this bowl for lunch everyday for my diet. The best part is, I talked to one of the guys about having lunch their everyday, so he signed me up for the FiveStar rewards program which gives you a free bowl when you buy 10.
