This was a pleasant find. We were craving Japanese food in the area, and this place did a great job with their curry and katsu. The price is also reasonable. I got the Pork Cutlet Curry. The cutlet came out nice and crispy. I do wish there was more curry sauce in the dish. Their karaage was also pretty good. The place isn't too big, but they have few outdoor seating too. I would be down to come back again. It did take some time to get the food out but wasn't too long of a wait. We did street parking.

I LOVED my food here. It's a tiny place to tucked off Pine Ave so it's easy to miss but you shouldn't. There's a cute older lady there that was behind the counter she didn't rush me and was very kind. I got the katsu curry udon noodles and let me telllll you. Whoa. It traveled well, by time I started to eat it 20 min after I picked it up the chicken was still crispy, the noodles tasted delicious and the curry was excellent. I'd def go back!!!

Donburi Cafe was a very delicious, aesthetic, and quick spot for a tasty dinner. We had the chicken katsu curry and the Nabe udon with shrimp tempura. It was the perfect dinner in Downtown Long Beach. Service was also quick and professional!

I came for a quick lunch and got the spicy chicken. This is my second time coming. The food was awesome and so flavorful. I ordered the same food last time and the quality is the same. It's the perfect amount of spice with tons of delicious flavor. I would definitely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for good food with flavor. This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in this area. The owner is very nice and the place is clean. There is space to eat inside and outside.

Small and tucked away, but definitely worth finding! We were greeted by a friendly woman who immediately knew it was our first time. She said "I know everyone, and I've never seen you!" And she gave some recommendations. I had the katsu curry udon. I forgot what my husband had, but he loved it! Haha! My meal was VERY hearty and filling and perfect on a cold evening. Great flavor, the katsu stayed crispy in the sauce, and the flavor was perfect. Generous portion, which I can't believe I finished, but I went in STARVING! The place is small/cozy but had some outdoor seating which would have been great on a warmer day. Highly recommend!

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised when I traipsed down Pine Avenue and popped into Donburi Cafe. The location is somewhat strange being kind of a 'dead end' in an older mall setup on Pine. I had dined at a neighboring restaurant that unfortunately closed so I popped into Donburi. Only one person was seated outside at the time; upon questioning him - he said it was good. The place is amazingly clean and organized. Without a ton of staff, they obviously want diners to take on some responsibility for bussing their trays back to the main counter and NOT being wasteful with utensils, napkins, etc. I like that. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Don albeit I'm not a huge chicken fan but it was getting close to my bedtime. First, the portion seemed quite generous so I took some home albeit I could have finished it off. Second, the miso soup was really delicious. I forgot how good it could be. Third, finally, the chicken don was quite good although I think more Korean than Japanese, which is fine. I like both and I appreciated the white rice. By the time I left, several other folks had popped in and a few takeout orders had gone out the door. I wouldn't mind if they offered a mini portion for about $10 for less hungry times. I'll be back.

Stumbled upon this small restaurant while exploring LA. The smell was enticing when we entered. The worker was very sweet. She made sure all the customer were happy. The food was wonderful. The most crispiest katsu I ever had. The udon curry was delicious and piping hot even though we were dining outside. It was a magical experience.

3 pieces of chicken for almost $20... what a ripoff. Ontop of that the chicken is 90% breading. Other items are much better portioned but i feel shafted from this... dont get this if you do come here.

i love this place so much. Ms. Jung is the most sweetest and attentive business owner & server. I've came about 10 times and everytime it's been an amazing service with her. I love the fusion ramen 10/10 and it's such a lowkey place to go on a cute date. The food is always freshly made and very delicious 100% recommendable.

In other news, I don't understand the hype over the Wagyu. In my opinion, it was oddly greasy but overcooked. No one asked how I like my steak - which is fine if that's customary in Japanese cuisine - but the end result simply missed the mark. However, I want to add that the owner was absolutely lovely! What made the experience more uncomfortable was that the bartender seemed to be giving most of his attention to the Caucasian customers on the other side of the bar. We were the only Asian customers there, and unfortunately, this left us feeling like we were being treated differently because of our race. The good food and drinks helped compensate for the poor service, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening. However, things got even more disappointing at the end. After I paid, I noticed that I had been charged for the crispy rice even though we never received it. When our server tried to address the issue, the bartender appeared to ignore both her and us, so we eventually left. I hope management sees this review and reaches out to me to address the overcharge and the overall experience. ( I will omit her name out of kindness, she may have been dealing with something personal and having a bad day. ) Now to the food. The Drinks, my wife's Paloma was delicious. I had a Makers 46 neat. Very basic whiskey selections but it was good. Our appetizer, the Artichoke dip came out to us tepid after 20 minutes of waiting for it and the chips borderline stale. I had the Bo Burger, the pork belly and aioli carried it. Fries were ok. My wife had chicken milanese it was fantastic, she just had to request extra sauce. Coke Zeros were flat, we sent them back. So my wife had a Proseco and she enjoyed that. Upon putting in the reservation I stated it was my wife's birthday, Kori even asked we told her and I'm pretty sure it was relayed to the serve who said nothing and didn't inquire whether we wanted dessert or offer anything. My wife asked for a box, she put the box on the table and walked away. We had to ask a busser for a bag and a cup for her sauce. He was very sweet, he filled our waters and asked if we needed anything else. The restaurant charges a 5% fee for the team, you can decline it. We didn't. I even still gave the server a respectable tip. Sadly she could have received twice as much because I used to serve when I was much younger. My wife is a Dorector in the Hospitality industry and she loves giving extra. I understand the struggle but if she was as charismatic as Kori she could make more and really add to the restaurant. Needless to say we will not make the hour and 15 minute drive again.
