This is a 4.5 for me, but the customer service from Mel and Cassandra bumped it to at 5. I was supposed to try HiroNori for a Yelp Elite event, but unfortunately my plane landed later than expected yesterday, so I missed out. But I had heard so many great things about HiroNori that I wanted to try it anyways. My brother especially kept hyping them up, and he LOVES ramen. And I'm glad I decided to try them out! While HiroNori is a SoCal chain, it still feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The crispy rice with tuna was EXCELLENT! Everything you want from crispy rice and spicy tuna. The tonkatsu was delicious! Great depth of flavor. They bring you garlic and spicy paste on the side. I had to add A LOT of spicy paste to get it up to the level I wanted, but while at other restaurants I've lost the broth flavor when adding too much spice, the spicy paste just enhanced the tonkatsu broth. And the pork in the tonkatsu - truly next level. This is probably the best pork I've ever had in a ramen dish. The noodles were also fantastic with the perfect amount of bite. Love, love, love this ramen spot! The broth here is so flavorful and not salty. My usual is the shoyu ramen because I love how fresh it tastes. I'm a sukiyaki broth lover, so it's somewhat similar to that taste profile. I like how they also provide garlic and house spicy sauce as it just makes the ramen even better and seals the deal. The crispy rice with spicy tuna is perfection-- you get the bottom bed of crisp with fresh avocados, spicy tuna, and a kick of jalapeño. They also provide watermelon infused water, which was perfect for a warm day out. Although this restaurant is quite small, service was fast and very accommodating. I have been here several times and service plus quality of the food never changes! Writing this review on the food we ordered - salmon poke and pork buns - because I know they are known for their ramen. I was craving poke and my boyfriend came across this place. We ordered via third party app because the preparation of the poke sounded intriguing and different. The food came in cute packaging. When we opened the containers, in my opinion there was too much rice/quinoa to fish portion. I did enjoy the taste of the poke. It had bits of sour notes from the apple dressing, which is different from what you normally order with poke. The avocado balances out the sourness. And the poke surprisingly pairs well with quinoa. The pork buns were really delicious! It has that umami taste you look for when eating pork. The meat was very tender - easy to bite and chew. The bun was nice and soft - had good texture. And the onions that came on it was good. You don't get that oniony, bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. Overall, I enjoyed the food. Poke was good but idk if I'd order it again because the rice-fish portions are off. But I definitely need to try the ramen cos I know that's what they're known for. read more

I've been to the Torrance location and it's been my favorite ramen for a while, this location is just as great too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's plenty of parking and seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servers were very friendly, if not a bit slow with bringing out the food. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have their full drink menu. I think they need to have a modified menu if they are not serving everything on there as I had planned to get a drink with my meal. This is my first time trying HiroNori ramen, I've only ordered one of their chicken bowls because my family took it to go and I don't like getting ramen to-go like that. Came here again recently with my friends and I waited about 20 minutes for a table and we all ordered the Shoyu Ramen. I got chicken instead of pork. It wasn't too salty and the flavor was good. Wish there were a little bit more noodles portioned in. Couple of things we didn't like was how other parties that got there later than us were being called up before us. Also my buddy found a piece of hair in his ramen but we just decided not to say anything because he was hungry lol. read more

Lunch with some friends and this was their pick. It was a great one and I was very pleased with it. The parking was a little confusing as there was construction going on in the back area where parking and the front entrance is. It shares parking with a couple other business and the entrance is just off the alleyway off Carson. Construction in the back did halt some of the parking spaces and entrance on one side. I didn't know where the entrance was walking around the block which found out later that the entrance was where parking is. Juicy and tender. Entrees, the tonkatsu which you could make into a combo that comes with a side salad, and with salmon poke bowl or spicy tuna bowl for an additional fee. The broth for the ramen was quite tasty and paired really well with everything that added to it. And very filling. Also had the pork rice bowl with pork chashu, green onions, poached egg, spinach on top of rice. That was quite tasty and filling as well. There's a small and large option. Lastly the vegan ramen with sesame miso broth, broccolini, corn, bean sprouts, soy meat, tofu, baby kale with chili oil. Food was quite tasty and very filling. Service was great with friendly staff. That doesn't bug me because I know the food was going to be fresh. I went outside to wait for my order and the lady at the counter said she would bring it out to me. I dined here on a Thursday and enjoyed it so much, I didn't mind coming back to meet a friend for dinner that following Monday. Both times I ordered the shoyu ramen ($16.45). While I do love a tonkotsu ramen, the shoyu ramen at HiroNori is absolute fire. It's a 100% chicken broth with 2 year barrel-aged soy sauce. I love how light the broth tastes. A spoonful of broth combined with the perfectly al dente noodles make for an excellent bite. The bowl comes with 2 generously sized pork chashu slices, green onions, bamboo, spinach, kaiware sprouts, and half an egg. I love all the additional veggies because health. Obviously. If you need a pre-cursor to dinner, I recommend the crispy chicken ($9.60). The chicken is really moist and tender with a nice crispy exterior. They're generous in size and good to share. On the flip side, I didn't love their pork buns ($12 for 3). The steamed buns come stuffed with marinated pork belly (too fatty), pickled onions, and hoisin sauce (too sweet). And if you're extra hungry, you can make your bowl a combo for an additional $6 bucks and some change. This gives you a little side salad with the most delish dressing and a mini rice bowl. I ordered the spicy tuna bowl. (+$1.00) and it was unexpectedly so good. Here, there, everywhere. Any HiroNori location is a good one. read more

Everything we tried was on point except for one chicken dish (I can't remember the name, but it's in my photos). Not a dealbreaker, just wouldn't get that again. There are plenty of Hiro Nori locations throughout SoCal, but this one is still my favorite, serving great ramen and arguably the best hot sauce in the region. Hot sauce - 5/5. What really sets the experience apart, though, is the hot sauce served on the side, an excellent condiment for spreading or dipping on the noodles, the soup, or any side dishes like gyozas. The hot sauce isn't really hot at all, but that's okay. The hot sauce has great boldness and balance, with a flavorful umami; all the tones blend perfectly, adding depth and heat without overpowering the dish. It's tempting to use more than intended. To me, the hot sauce is what pushes this ramen joint to a 5-star - yeah, Hiro Nori serves one of my favorite hot sauces in SoCal. Shoyu Ramen - 4.5/5. The noodles are well-cooked with a satisfying bite, and the shoyu broth is clean, savory, and balanced without being overly salty. The soup also comes with a special blend of oil that elevates the soup to the next level. Vegan Soup - 4.5/5. It's hard to find a bowl of ramen for vegans, let alone a fantastic bowl of vegan ramen. The soup is clearly made with care, featuring the right blend of flavors and vegan ingredients for a tasty result. Tonkatsu Ramen - 4/5. The tonkatsu soup, however, is more middle-of-the-road. It's perfectly fine and comforting, but lacks the richness and complexity that would make it memorable compared to the shoyu option. Luckily, there wasnt a wait at that time so we were seated immediately but around 630ish a line started to form and by 730 there were a good amount of people waiting The building is small and can probably seat 30-40 people between 2 and 4 person tables Service was prompt and sometimes someone other than "our" server was taking care of us which was cool The crispy chicken was lightly coated, fried to absolute perfection, juicy, and flavorful The pork buns were open face and stuffed with meat but honestly the flavor wasnt as impactful and I didn't really dig the texture of the bun The shoyu ramen broth was magnificent! The parking lot, off Atlantic avenue offers a fair amount of parking that's shared with other businesses. So, while it can get a little tight, I've never had issues finding a spot. The staff at HiroNori isn't rude, but also isn't extraordinarily warm. I've only ordered takeout so far, so I cannot comment on the eat-in experience. The dining room is a fair size, with a good amount of seating and is clean. What I will say, however, is that their Tonkatsu ramen is a standout! All ingredients are fresh tasting and flavorful, and it's always a sad moment once you've reached the bottom of the bowl. Value for cost is good! They're not the cheapest ramen spot on the block, but the quality accounts for what you spend. $25 for Tonkatsu with added tofu. read more

Once again, I was with my colleagues, and were out for lunch. We found HiroNori Ramen as a suggestion on Yelp. We were so excited that we found this place, because the Ramen is top quality! The broth was tasty. The pork was soft and the noodles were delicious. They had an interesting mini spicy tuna poke dish that melted in your mouth. They even had their own in house spicy sauce. The servers were wonderful and got our food out as soon as possible because we were on a time crunch. The pricing was reasonable and there was a an 18% service charge, but they told us that we didn't have to pay that. We could just pay a tip if we wanted to. The ramen here is really good. The broth is rich but not too greasy; the noodles are al dente, and the char siu is nicely charred and so tender. I stick to tonkatsu ramen mainly so I can't speak to the other dishes. I like to get side toppings like garlic or spicy sauce just to mix it up however. The restaurant is fairly small. I have not gone during peak times but I can imagine it must get busy and have a long wait. Also in the past the tables have been pushed together cafeteria style which I did not like at all.
