Definitely one of the better Thai food spots in the twin cities, but not worth the insane price. Just two dishes (pad Thai + curry) was 46$ with tip, and the portions were pretty small. On the bright Side the the scenery of the restaurant was nice. Overall I would recommend if you're going for a vibe, but in terms of best "bang for your buck" I'd go somewhere else with just as good (if not better) tasting food for a cheaper price. read more

Food here is amazing! My favorite (not on the menu) is the "Pork Kra Pao" which is Pad Kra Pao with pork base protein (comes in other protein choices). My wife and I visiting this restaurant during a weekday on a whim. We walked across the street from a Surdyks tasting event. The restaurant ambiance was very inviting. The entire staff greeted us, promptly. We were seated very quickly and were given water and a choice of Jasmine team or another beverage of choice. I chose team and my wife just kept with the water. The menu option was all inviting. I really had a hard time narrowing down my choice for this meal. After some time, we chose Potstickers for a appetizer, and Ramo Spinach Curry with Chicken. My wife chose the Thai Fried Rice with chicken. Appetizers arrived rather quickly. The potstickers were incredibly delicious. We easier could have eaten two portions of them. They were so good! The main course arrived soon after we finished the potstickers. My first bite of the Spinach Curry was pure bliss! I absolutely loved the many nodes of flavors in this scrumptious dish. Every bite was a dream of pure deliciousness. I still dream of this dish even after a few days vising the restaurant. My wife's dish was wonderful. I only had one bite of her dish. The smell of dish was inviting so I could not resist taking a bite of her meal. The portions of the dishes we very generous. I need to say again. The staff at Flamin' Thai was so friendly and helpful. They explained all of the dishes and promptly delivered anything we needed for our meal. I will definitely go back to Flam' Thai!!!! read more

THE BEST! I just moved out to NE Minneapolis and was looking for a great Thai spot around town and I'm soooo happy I stumbled upon this one. Our waiter, Henry, went over the top for us. Took care of all our needs and then some! He even sat and gave us some life advise. When it comes to the food, it was amazing as well. We had the duck with medium spice and it was comparable to hit restaurants in NY. I'm telling everyone about this place. It is only a couple months in to a successful venture if they keep this up. read more

I should have known. As soon as I saw the sushi bar in a Thai restaurant, I should have known... I'll start with service. I understand that servers upsell. But this experience was different than most. When we asked for recommendations, it was clear the server was only recommending the most expensive items, not his favorite items. We initially ordered the Holy Basil fried rice, Tom Kha Gai soup, and Papaya salad. The server pushed shrimp as the protein for each dish. It felt like I was buying a used car from a guy that just found out that his kid needed braces. Push, push, push... After ordering the three dishes, he pushed again and told us that the soup was really great as an appetizer, so we should order another entree. I was already irritated and would have walked out at this point. But, I was with family, so I kept quiet while they ordered the Red Thai curry. Food: the papaya salad was probably the favorite. The fried rice was second; good flavor, lots of basil. The curry was good. A little too sweet, and I couldn't taste any coconut milk. Normally, sweetness in curry comes from the coconut milk. In this case, I believe it was just sugar. Had we just had these three dishes, I would have rated the food a 4 and the overall experience a 3-3.5. The biggest issue was the soup. The only flavor was salt. Everyone immediately mentioned how salty it was. When we mentioned it to our server, he didn't apologize, he didn't ask if we'd like to replace it or offer to remove it from our bill, he said that he would take it back and dilute it with water. I should have asked for a manager. But, I was trying to have a nice Friday night out with family. When he brought it back, he just said "It's a nice 50/50 mix." No one touched the soup. I wanted to leave one star, but the other food was good. (Overpriced, but good) I won't be back. If you're looking for good Thai food, I'd recommend trying somewhere else. read more

I enjoyed this restaurant all in all. I had one issue during my visit. I'll start with the highlights. The place is CLEAN. I mean clean. I walked in at 4:00pm and the place was spotless. After sitting down, I noticed staff wiping down tables that appeared to be spotless. I was served promptly, even before my plus one showed up. Their happy hour is incredible, (between 4 &6pm.) We ordered two different drinks that were $7 on happy hour. The Flamin Margarita and The Tropical Mojito, both were good, but the Mojito was on the sweet side. We also ordered the wings and veggie egg roles. The egg rolls were the issue. They offer either veggie or pork. I Don't EAT PORK! My egg rolls came out as pork. I noticed as soon as I bit into them. I brought this to my waitress's attention and she corrected it promptly. This is a big mistake, seeing people who don't eat pork can become very sick if it's consumed. I will take away a star for this only. Our wings were made well with lots of flavor. Our main dishes of basil, fried rice were great and the heat level of medium was perfect for my taste of liking spicy foods. I had three drinks off the happy hour menu, two appetizers, off the happy hour menu, and one entire off the regular menu and my bill was $65 $75 with a tip and I would return. EXCELLENT! My new favorite Thai restaurant. Tonight was my 6th visit. And it did not disappoint! Every time, we've been greeted by pleasant, accommodating and attentive staff. Food has always been fresh, hot menu items served hot and nicely presented. A wide variety menu items; including great sushi options! Their happy hour is fantastic and one of the best around! Stopped here for dinner last night. We were in town for our sons college visit. Amazing Thai food. Fantastic service. I was worried about not getting authentic food; was proved wrong. My spring roll, papaya salad were amazing and sticky rice was served in a cute bamboo container. My hubby and son had the specials and they both loved it. My cocktail was delicious and my hubby was happy with his bourbon. They delivered on the heat level I asked for. So if you love spice, you wont be disappointed. I actually really like this place, definitely one of the best Thai places in Minneapolis that I have tried! We started with the egg rolls and the cream cheese wontons. Both were very very tasty! I had a Thai iced coffee which was amazing, I would drink that every single day. Flavorful, sweet, and overall amazingly delightful. I had a catfish red curry, which was honestly one of the best curries i've ever had, and only for 14 dollars? Amazing. I even got a second leftover meal out of it. Pretty good prices. To finish, I had a mango sticky rice, which had some extra aromatic in it which made it very very flavorful! All in all, food here was amazing, I will be back if i'm ever in the area. Service here was amazing too! I asked about the aromatic in the sticky rice, and the server actually looked it up for me right there! So fun! They answered all questions, and provided insight, overall, the service here was much better than standard, and very very good. The ambiance is really cool too, it feels a bit more modern, with even a full service bar being open inside, and has a lot of seating. The best part though? Is that window seats overlook the east part of downtown Minneapolis, very nice to look at while eating for sure. Ultimately, this place gets a 5 stars from me, and is just another one of the Thai places in Minneapolis that do so. read more

Probably my favorite Thai especially in the Minneapolis area. The service is always very quick and friendly, I usually go for the lunch special. The place is smaller with 20-ish tables and some bar seating but during lunch I can always get a seat at the bar. The prices are very fair, and they pretty much nail every Thai staple dish you can think of, although I'm partial to the curries and pad kee mao. The owner has also been really nice to chat with during slower times and he's made me a few different rolls (never asked what kind) and they were all good, I wouldn't go here exclusively for sushi but it is really fresh and tasty so add a roll to go with your fav Thai dish!!! read more

The service was quick and food was quick. All dishes were portioned correctly not too much and not too little. I would order dishes and ask for them to be cooked a certain style for the dishes I order and they would come out delicious. Some places adapt to a certain style of flavor for the area they're in but if you just ask they are more than happy to meet your expectations. read more

There was way more vegetables then meat in the Holy basil stir fry. Please fix this.... on top of that the vegetables were cut way way way to thick for enjoyment. Onions, bell peppers, jalapeños(why is that in a Thai dish. Use Thai chili), and mushrooms needs to be cut thinner unless unless you guys wanted it to look like a whole salad bowl. Whoever is cutting the vegetables needs to be retrained. In my opinion. Union restaurant and banquet tops you guys by a lot. I believe you guys got this. Stop half assing things and actually put passion into your cooking. For now I'm very unsatisfied. Each dish has to be perfect. Take notes from a former Michelin star cook. Please.
