I am always unsure when booking an unknown motel online, but The flamingo couldn't have been any better. Nel was Absolutely wonderful. She upgraded us to a king kitchenette with partial ocean view. Everything was clean upon arrival, Nel even showed us to our room. This little motel tucked away on Daytona Beach is an absolute diamond in the rough. read more

Based on the hotel's website, this experience has met all expectations. The property, albeit small, is very clean and attractive. The ocean front room is nicely appointed, very clean and quiet. This is a diamond in the rough. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Accommodations are clean and well kept and the staff were very friendly. Nell is a very sweet person. The location is perfect and close to attractions. The hotel is only 3 stories high and no elevator so be prepared to get your steps in . Best views are from the third floor. Heated pool, grill, and you can walk right out onto the beach. We will be returning to this motel again. read more

Pros - rooms are decent size, pool is clean, and it's right on the beach. Convenient location to restaurants, beach, and bars/stores. Cons- no ice machines, no elevators which make lugging your stuff up and down the stairs tough, front desk is hard to reach and was not there for check out, headboard in room 305 was dirty so I had to disinfect it myself, stainless steel fridge was heavily fingerprinted (we didn't use it, but still not good to see, parking lot is so small and tight that you will like it get your door dinged, and no room is "oceanfront" like they advertised. read more

Unable to fly due to the coronavirus. I called ahead of time and the cold hearted owner is not giving out refunds even during this EXCEPTIONAL time and shelter at home orders. Very disappointed. Will not be staying here ever. read more

The ambiance and the staff, Carmen at the front desk was professional and very courteous. My sister-in-law stayed here from June 25- July 1. I can not say enough good things about this hotel and the owner. She is an amazing person and my only complaint is that I couldn't stay longer. The rooms were amazing and clean. The pool and patio areas were clean and private as well. Thank you so much for an amazing time. read more

5 stars for what it is for the price! I loved this hotel! My husband and I had such a nice time. I was great to have a kitchen. Although older looking, it was functional and clean. It had enough utensils and pans to cook a meal and had dishes and everything. The hotel is great. It is on the beach. As you pull into the parking lot and look at the building... the rooms will enter from the outdoors on the left. All rooms go entirely through the building and all have balconies on the right. I love this! I prefer it to entering a building and having all the entrances inside. IDK - seems more like an apartment, and private. Plus when I come out of my room - there is the breeze and the beautiful ocean so it was nice. No elevator as far as I know! I don't care about this. While we are talking about this - nice clean little bathroom near pool. The balconies are angled so you are not right next to your neighbor. The pool is small but was warm. I think it might actually be heated. There are some nice loungers near the pool and there's a grill and tables to sit at. Many hotels have this ugly half wall separating the property from the beach but this hotel has cute tropical shrubbery instead - and palm trees. A guy comes every morning and blows the stuff off the sidewalk and pool atea and cleans the table. Then the pool guy comes. A couple things that I noticed but don't care about: Sometimes office staff were not in office, but there was a number and you just had to call them - no biggie. Sometimes certain of our towels got forgotten - like the kitchen towels - no problem. It's a budget hotel! Not the ritz. I felt the room was cleaned at an inconvenient time, like 12:30, but this is personal preference and is no problem. I'm used to the cleaning lady trying to come in at 8 you know! But this was ackwardly after we were already done at the beach and cleaning up for lunch. So one day we refused cleaning and just exchanged towels. It seems that each room has a balcony, but no rooms are "ocean front". The ocean front of the hotel is just flat. Well, I guess the first room on each floor is ocean front but the balcony would face the side... and front sorta. Our balcony was excellent! We were on the 3rd floor in the middle of the building. Beautiful view! I am not sure what the view is like from the 2nd floor... as there is a 2 story property next door. The bottom floor has patio ateas with loungers. The room was very comfortable and clean, if not perfect. There was some damage and disrepair to the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom. Some decor was old. This doesn't bother me. The price was right. And it was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were great. I can't say if others would love it but I loved it and will be back. Also I think it is a new owner for the past few months. I had read that they are making improvements. It really seems like they are trying to take care of the place which is nice. read more

If you're disabled, RUN!!!! I have a service dog(legitimate) and the owner was extremely rude in person. I phoned several weeks before I arrived and reconfirmed the day before my arrival and the owner was off site when my husband and I arrived. The door had a number to call and I got out of my vehicle (with my service dog) to call the manager and he proceeded to berate me because I didn't have my service dog with me. He proceeded to question me on the "laws" of where my "dog" could go and verbally abused me when he told me that my dog had better not approach guest or be a disturbance. He put us on the second floor in the very back with NO Elevator. The bathrooms aren't disabilty acceptable. The rooms are nasty and I ran out of hot water every time I showered. The house keepers were great, however, owner never said "hi" when we saw him 5 times walking with my well behaved "dog." DISABLED DON'T STAY!!! read more

Nowhere does it state that when you make a reservation, your check in is at 4pm!, with that being said, here's my opinion, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! This is neither a negative nor positive review!, cheap towels, cheap room, doors, soap, no hair conditioner. If that matters to you. It did to me that day because I forgot to bring mine and had a wedding to go to. Anyway, the location is great, right next to the high rises so you will appreciate that!. Right on the beach, it does have a microwave and a mini fridge. The location is good, located pretty close to everything. So, these are my views, not sure if I'll stay there again, maybe if it's cheaper and I just need a bathroom and a stained bed for 1 night...crystal the front desk person was grouchy in the phone, however when o stayed o needed a room before 4 she did help me out. It's a nice place. I ck in March 18 th. And assigned room 309. Great ocean view. And the room was very nice. No complaints at all. Nice pool and access to the beach. I never stayed here at the flamingo before. I've been coming to Daytona Beach for 6 years and try to make it down twice a year. I would stay here again. I found the employees to be nice people. Coming back in September and I'd stay here. Love the view. read more

Not what it is advertised at all. "Oceanview" is very misleading because you can only see the ocean from the back of the motel where no rooms are. The "lobby" is closed half of the day. The lady who worked there had a black eye & was dressed like a drug addict. Everything is deteriorating with rust. Huge puddles of water collect in the walkways during rain. No ice machine or WiFi. Also no elevators. You get what you pay for is all I will say. Not a good place to take a family. read more

First time staying in Daytona and this place is so cute!! Very small and quaint with a very nice pool and lounging area out back. Right on the beach only 5 steps away. The staff were unbelievably nice and accommodating. Melanie at the front desk was a doll and was so helpful. Will be staying here again for sure. read more

I have stayed here a few times with my family. Very quaint, reasonably priced hotel on the beach. Nothing fancy, not first class, but definitely worth a try for a less pricey beach hotel. Nothing quite like waking up to the sound of waves and walking right onto the sand. I would definitely request the first floor room closest to the beach. read more

I can't say enough about this place! Great room and location for the price! The room we were in had just been renovated and we were the first guests to stay in it. Well decorated and clean. Views were great. I usually stay at bigger more expensive places and was a little concerned by the exterior of the building but it is true you cannot judge a book by its cover. I like the Flamingo it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the mega resorts in Daytona beach area but your not hit with the ridiculous resort fees and paying 200 bucks a night either. I arrived on Sunday at around 140 in the afternoon and was happy to see my room was ready to go. Check in went smoothly the lady was nice and was in and out and to my room in under 10 mins. So far so good. The room was clean in fact the property was clean as well. I was here in March and decided to come back on 9-30-18. I plan on coming back in April and definitely would stay here again. read more

Not family friendly. We booked our reservation in advance online and as checking in, was asked how many kids we have. When we replied 3, he stated he could not accomodate us and we would have, if available, had to book an adjoining room (for 1 kid?!) We stay in hotels ALL THE TIME in one room..... so now we have to search for another hotel. So warning.... if you have more than 2 kids, this is not the place for you. The worst place I have ever stayed. The rooms were small and cramped and nothing like the pictures on the internet. Parking was terrible ,the rooms were dirty and out dated. The inn keeper was the rudest person I have ever dealt with and should be retrained in how to deal with her customers. I would comment on customer service but there was none and no one around if you needed something. If this is the only place left on the beach I would suggest staying a block or two off. read more

Love the private balcony, kitchenette, super soft sheets, great water pressure in the shower, nice HOT water, right on the beach, always clean rooms, friendly staff, AC that works awesome and a price you can't beat!!! This hotel is great, clean no bugs of any kind, Crystal at the front desk is very helpful, heated pool cute bar and on the beach! Ask for an ocean view room. Highly recommend got a great deal on Expedia. Next summer will be remodeled estimated with new floors and furniture! read more
