Such a great place to get away! Grounds were immaculate, the pool was amazing, staff friendly and inviting. Check in was a breeze. Staff met me at our campsite to make sure it all went well. We rented a golf cart and had a blast driving around. It's a huge place with lots of shaded campsites, nice looking cabins. Pets are welcome. There's a nice restaurant looking over the lake and 2 beaches to swim in addition to the pool. Our dogs went swimming away from the e beach every day. The lake seemed to always have a nice breeze and it was full of fish and turtles! I will def go back again, looking forward to it. read more

We stayed for two weeks and had the best time just relaxing and watching the children play in the lake. It was November but the days were warm and they have paddle boats you can go all over the lake. The staff and owner were very kind and helpful with anything we needed. The park was decorated for Christmas and it was very pretty. So I reserved a site for this coming weekend of 9/26 - 9/28/25. A family Emergency has come up and I cancelled the reservation. I cancelled more than 24 hours out. I then received an email stating I will receive a ZERO refund due to not cancelling at least 14 days out! How can you cancel 14 days out when the reservation was made less than a WEEK AGO! 244.00 down the drain! Thank you for Nothing Flamingo Lake!!! I will never, ever make another reservation with you and will advise all others to follow suite! Your cancellation policy is nothing short of Stealing People's Money!!! $100 + per night isn't a value here. As a KOA member and familiar with their provisions there isn't a comparison. The KOA was located on the Florida/ Georgia line so this location benefited us for what we wanted to do in the area. We will have to reconsider that choice next time. Presented with bad weather nearly the entire visit, it was clear that drainage is a problem here. I will start off by saying Flamingo resort is an older park. It does come with its ups and downs of a campground being older, but for the price that you pay, and the people that are employed there really know how to make it worth your while! Me and my husband sold our house 3 years ago with the hopes of buying land and when that fell through, we purchased our first camper! we thought we would only be here for six months and now we are going on almost 3 years! We absolutely love it! The lake is an added bonus to having fun during those hot summer days! My kids will float across the lake and play on the beaches whenever they get a chance too! The Cafe employees go above and beyond to make sure that your food is made right and with a smile on their face. If you have a problem, the Flamingo Lake employees will do everything to try to take care of the problem. I did not plan on being in our camper this long, but the atmosphere and the feeling of "home" with this park has made it very hard for us to leave!Plus an added bonus, the sunsets are BEAUTIFUL!! read more

2.5 I am not sure how I feel about Flamingo Lake. We stayed here on our way back from Northwest Florida. We stayed at a state park that did not have sewer. So, on the way back to Maryland we wanted to stop and do laundry, dump and clean black tank, dump potable water, and winterize. The only part of the campsite I personally saw up close and personal was the Registration Office which appears to be joined with camp store. It was clean but aged. Staff? Jenny in the registration office was nice enough. She explained all amenities thoroughly and apologized that we were on the back muddy area of the campground. I appreciated the apology, especially once we got to the site. And yes, I regret not getting photos. If we had planned on staying more than night and had any "enjoyment" time we would have had to request a refund and left. We were literally right next to 295 and electricity lines. Not one or two but like 8 or 9! Also looked to be the storage area for other RVs and boats, etc. and perhaps families that live their year round. Mud was everywhere. It made me feel like it was an area where employees stay and they have some extra spaces they use for overnighters. I'm just saying ‍ But based on reviews and information Jenny passed along the restaurant on site is pretty amazing. The lake looks very nice and I can imagine in the summer it's a big hit. Personally not a strong swimmer but lake is man made and small and I would have liked to give it a try under the right conditions. The spaces, in my opinion are too close for comfort. But big rigs were there. If you want privacy this is not the place for you. I don't know if I would ever find myself needing to come here again since it wasn't for vacation and Jax isn't on my list per se to visit. This is my observation. Don't go down the slide. I repeat DONT go down the slide. I've been dying to check this place out! Just 45 minutes from the beaches this is a great little day trip. Yes it is primarily for RVs but you can also go in for ~$15+ and extra 5 (cash only) to go in the inflatables. They have a decent size lake, surrounded by RVs. For those without an RV they have a good amount of picnic tables to use however you must park a short distance away. I came here solely for the inflatables and was beyond excited. Upon arriving, I found they had 2 large slides, a flat long one to run on, a volleyball net- all a bit worn out looking from the sun. Now you'd think summer time is the perfect time to go however we were sadly mistaken. The inflatables were so damn hot we ended up bleeding on our ass cheeks from going down that slide. They had no water running on it to keep it cool and no tubes to use when going down it. We reported our concerns to the employees and they said the owner didn't want to pay to make any improvements. My advice, bring your own tubes and wear a wet suit. The flat long inflatables was also hot but bearable. Be careful running on it as your legs can easily fall through the cracks. Let's just say we left with a lot of injuries. They do have a small pool and small beaches you are able to use. You can rent paddle boards or bring your own to float around the rest of the lake. They even have a restaurant although we did not check it out. I'm thankful we went. I will not being going back! read more

My husband and I stayed here as I had appointments at Mayo Clinic. This place is acceptable but not super nice. I've come to expect a bit more for the price from Sun Outdoor resorts. Plus I met an employee who had just been let go because it changed hands. I don't much like corporate stuff like that. Some of the sites are very close together. Other sites are good. I'm glad we had opportunity to drive around before we chose our site or we would have chosen wrong for us. The pond is a nice feature. The store is lacking. It's not what I expect from a Sun Outdoor Resort. I wouldn't call it a resort. But it is the nicest campground in the area. I felt safe. Staff is nice. Next time we may stay in Hana Park. read more

We spend a day at Flamingo and wow... do I have mixed reviews. On the positive side, it was super quiet and relaxing sitting by the pond. While the pool was a little small - it was perfect for my kids and they had a blast. On the other hand, and the reason for my low review is simply because of the customer service. I had a financial question because of a misunderstanding and automatically the lady at the front desk got offended and raised her voice at me - even though I was talking calmly. I told her I wasn't upset and just wanted clarification and she was still visibly perturbed. If you work in a front office - you will be asked financial questions.... get used to it. read more

I made a reservation for a one night stay at this place, I am a local resident of Jacksonville fl and wanted to take my new RV out for a trial run. The morning my wife and I were supposed to leave, we found out my father in law had passed away. I called to inform them I would not be able to come.. They call this place an RV resort, it is more like a trailer park with 90% of the people staying there being full timers. We have a beautiful Motor coach and when we set up we make the out side of our spot is clean and tidy. They sited us for having pet fence which we use mostly to keep things out not our dogs in. But they have full timers that have crap piled up around their rig like empty boxes, storage totes, piles of wood, and broke down vehicles and I guess that's ok. I see other rules broken like more pets per spot then allowed and kids running around the park in supervised, and nothing said. And to top it off the staff was rude when they called us about the fence, they obviously need a class in good customer service, we will never be back. read more

This park was very well maintained & clean. Staff was very friendly. Loved the water activities for the kids. Manager was so friendly and went above and beyond. We will be back for sure! Lots 85E, 86E, 87E and 88E will flood with raw sewage when it rains!!! Water level WILL come above sewer drains. Water does not drain in these areas it will sit for days. Spoke with office several times in five days concerning the unsanitary conditions. Now that I am home let's see how the health department feels!!! I've been here a week and I like the park but it most certainly had its pros and cons. Pros- the lake is beautiful, the cafe is good, the beer is cold, there is a man made beach for lounging, and the water in the bathhouse is hot. My site was relatively level and the grass was green and well maintained. Oh and there is free cable! Yay! There are activities like movie nite, bingo, karaoke, and live music on Saturday's. Lastly, it has a great small laundry. It's $2 to wash and $1 for 32 minutes of dry time. This was plenty to dry my large beach towels. I was happy! Cons- the sites are close together but there is still room to be quite comfortable. Starting on Friday, families with kids start arriving. The MPH in the park is 5 but kids were zooming around on scooters much faster. I think the park would do well to have a no kid zone for adults that are interested in peace in quiet. The other con is that the roads are narrow and if you're walking your dogs you always feel like you're in the way or about to get run over. I would stay here again but I do find the cost is a bit prohibitive. It was $336 for a week. read more

We came back a second time and prior to booking, we specifically asked for a lake view lot and asked if we were going to be parked on a concrete pad. We were assured our requests would be honored. When we arrived, none of our requests were honored. We are near the freeway (part of the park backs up to it), and we are on an asphalt site that is so small you can almost touch your neighbor. No lake view site to be found. The staff is not helpful at all and any time you have a request you are put off. We will never stay at this park again. read more

This RV resort is not worth going to. We drove 6 hours to get there and called their office to let them know we would arrive late. I was told to call the number on the gate and the security man would come out and take us to our rv spot. We prepaid two nights in advance. We arrived at 12:09 and called the guard who stood behind the gate and saw us. He said he was not able to open the door after midnight. It was pouring and I was soon with my daughter. He refused to ope. The gate. He said we needed to park across the street in a lot that had no lights. I told him I was worried and I didn't want to get stuck and please please let me in. He said rules are rules. We ended up going to sleep in a Walmart parking lot. I called the next day to say I wanted my money back and they refused to give it back. I can't believe these idiots are in business! Worse experience of my life! read more

We made reservations for a much needed long weekend. Low and behold, Hurricane Eta decided to make a turn right towards Jacksonville! Not wanting to be cooped up in our camper during the storm, I called to cancel our reservation only ONE DAY before check in. Angie was most understanding and helpful!! She cancelled our reservation, waived the cancellation fee, and wished us safety through the storm! Way to go Flamingo Lake!! We'll be seeing y'all soon!! read more

Large Dog owners be forewarned. Although the site manager Steve, was very professional and friendly despite my frustration with learning our dog was on their aggressive breed list, our situation was enough to ensure I will never return. And please know yes, although it was frustrating to learn that boxers are the list despite having stayed at numerous campgrounds nationwide before and never knowing this, my frustration stemmed instead from not being told until after speaking with the woman at the front desk, driving 40 mins out of the way given they were listed as a pet friendly good sam park AND giving her all of my information at the front desk to include my address prior to telling her we even had a dog given she never asked. Although she apologized profusely for not asking at all let alone asking sooner, being snapped at by the staff member Jimmy that "I think my dog isn't aggressive until it attacks someone" was unacceptable. Rather than understanding I was frustrated due to the lack of information and that we had just driven 40 mins out of our way (in hopes of missing Jacksonville 5pm traffic which didn't happen given we ended up getting stuck for almost 2 hours in traffic after this) he instead was extremely rude, accusatory and condescending. This was why I asked to speak with Steve the site manager who like I said was very kind and compassionate to my frustration. So, just to be fair, After leaving I went back to the website given he assured me the list was there. And Sure enough, it was...through a link in the fine print listed at the very bottom of the website labeled "guidelines." After scrolling down almost all the way to the bottom of the guidelines page, I found the park rules which included the breeds listed on the attached image. So long story short, if you don't have large dogs this is likely a great place to stay. However if you do, your breed is likely listed on their list as an aggressive breed. Lesson learned to simply always ask now. Again, after staying so many times and never being unauthorized, it seemed unnecessary. After this though, I will now simply ask for every reservation but I am hesitant to recommend the park given the rude staff member making a bad situation worse. read more

Although unfair to judge this campground due to rain rain and lots more rain, we were unhappy due to controlled items. We came to Jacksonville to attend the Mega RV show. we Went with friends who had made arrangements for two sites canopy to canopy so that our dogs could be with their dog (sister aussies). The guy at check in was oblivious to life in general and could answer no questions other than to say the store was closed due to COVID but if we wanted something we could look through the windows and he would get it. Otherwise Walmart was right up the road. We were able to get to our site without issue but they WERE NOT canopy to canopy so we put ours in backwards. As soon as we got into the sites it started pouring. The check in people watched us in the pouring rain set up pup fencing (2' tall) between the two campers and out of the mud. The girls loved being out of the truck and a reunion with their sister. Within 30 minutes some wanna be security patrol arrived and told us no fencing at all. That dogs MUST only be outside the camper on a leash. That is the rule, and handed our friend a ticket telling him to go to the front office. (Remember the one you can't go in because it's locked due to Covid? ) we removed the fence again in the rain. Later while walking the dogs back by a maintenance building, there was a dog running free without a leash. Here come the camp cop and my husband pointed out the free Fido. Mr pup patrol shrugged his shoulders and left. This guy continued for three days to watch us like we were trouble or something. Not very welcoming. other than these issues the area was clean but the trash is not picked up and not convenient to dump yourself. We will not return. Too much trouble for $70 a night. read more

Still clean but the atmosphere has changed...ran into several folks who were loud and appeared intoxicated, very loud music from multiple campsites all evening long. Will think twice about staying here again when the kids are with us. Office staff was kind of rude when we asked about a family member who lives in the area and wanted to visit with us for a few hours. On their website, it was stated that the cabin we had reserved had a full size bed. When we got there and checked in though, the full size bed turned out to be a pull out couch. Actually, it was a love seat. Beyond that, it was dingy looking and ripped. Needless to say, it was a very tight fit for two people. There was also no sink in the bathroom, which necessitated using the tiny bar sink in the kitchenette for everything. When I made the cabin reservation, I specifically asked if our Chihuahua was welcome and was told yes, they were dog friendly. Excited about the upcoming trip, I later looked at the "general info" section of their website to get a feel for the park amenities/activities... and one of the things it talked about was the fact that they were dog friendly and even had a barkpark exercise area. However, when we arrived with our dog, we were told that she was not allowed - only RV campers could bring their dogs. They were very snippy, all but saying that we were lying about what reservationist had told us and saying, among other things, that if we had looked in the "cabin" section of their website we would have seen that. (I look later and yes, technically it is in the cabin section). But again, we were specifically told by the staff person with whom we reserved the cabin, that we could bring the dog AND the entire "general park info" section makes a point of saying how dog friendly they are. Nowhere does it say that if you are renting a cabin this does not apply to you. We lost hours of our first day making other arrangements for our dog. Lastly, in order to not lose any of your deposit, as you leave you are required to: strip your sheets off of the bed (ie: pull out couch) and put them on the floor of the shower, fold couch back up, take your trash to the pickup area ( only kitchen sized garbage bags allowed, which they do not provide) and wash/dry and put away any dishes you may have used. In other words you are virtually required to clean the cabin. All of which they do not tell you prior. I do have to say however, that they have a great Cafe with very good, reasonably priced food. They also have karaoke on Friday and a concert on Saturday and Sunday nights. read more

This is the first RV campground we visited since purchasing our travel trailer. I was actually surprised they had availability the same day I called, because I know this is a popular place. We had a nice, level, paved spot with enough space for our slide out and awning. We weren't able to do much due to the weather, but wifi and cable still came in strong. The park is kept extremely clean (garbage is picked up throughout the day) and safe with security & employees rolling through all the time. We will definitely be back! read more

This is our second stay at Flamingo Lake. We escaped the Pa cold last year and stayed for 2 weeks and looked forward to returning this year. We were not disappointed. The staff is great as they let us have our last site back. We back right up to the beautiful lake and enjoy the fishing. The restaurant has great food and cold beer. Arriving at the gate we told the gatekeeper we wanted to go to the lake. He charged us $11 per person- which is what is advertised on their website. He did not tell us about the extra charge to actually go into the lake. After talking to the the guy at the lake about the misunderstanding we headed back to the car to get a refund. A man on a golf cart came up to us and told us that only the general manager can approve refunds. So we headed to the office. Another man on the golf cart stopped us and told us to watch our speed. We slowed down and continued to the office. Shortly after he zoomed up to us and pulled in front of our car creating a huge cloud of dust. He had plenty of sassy comments and rudely told us that we were going over the speed limit. Not sure how he knew this since his golf cart didn't have a speedometer. We told him that we slowed down and were trying to go to the office to get a refund. He had no concern as to why we wanted a refund. In the office the same two men stood over us while talking to the general manager. Their intimidation didn't work and we got out refund. Horrified by their terrible costumer service- I will never recommend this place. They are shady people who try to squeeze every penny out of their costumers. read more
