Park is located close is I-95, no security gate and experienced shady traffic periodically. Most campers are elderly who have no patience for little kids and the park has no attractions for children. The head manager Kimberly Odden is unprofessional and doesn't understand the fine line between policies and inflicting personal opinions into her professional duties. Most of the office staff is disgruntle and seem to all hate their jobs with the exception of the activities coordinator who clearly doesn't get enough support from park management to make Pecan Park desirable to live or stay. Don't believe any of the pictures if you have children because this is definetely not the place for you to stay. Received a notice to vacate within 24 hours if my children want to be children and ever have fun.

This place has nice amenities and is kept somewhat well, but unfortunately the people that live here have brought my star review down. The noise is ridiculous. There are all types of cars and motorcycle noise from very rude people that should know better. The RV park is also directly in the airport flight path. Those planes can be loud, especially the military ones. There are also lots of random noises like slamming of doors and screaming children way past the quiet hour time. The trash situation is a little inconvenient as well. There are dumpsters by the office, and can be a very long walk depending on where your site is. My major con to this place is that they make a point to tell you about the rules, but no one monitors them. The RV park needs to take control of all the crap that people have out. Looks very trashy. We will not return.

This RV resort is Very clean and peaceful for anyone traveling by RV. They were extremely accommodating to my grandparents who, because, of weather had last minute changes to their schedule adding several weeks. They were extremely easy to coordinate with. There is a flea market next door on Saturdays but I would not recommend. RIVER CITY town center is very convenient and close with plenty of shops and a variety of restaurants for a day away from "home"

Interstate 95 runs this close past the campground.

This campground is two large parking lots. Very few trees in the back lot. Most campers live there full time so the place looks like a camper sales park. The trash container is a very long hot walk down a narrow road without sidewalks. I asked if my heavy bag could be picked up once as I couldn't walk that far with a heavy bag. The office said no! Absolutely not. I have camped up and down the entire east coast and this was my least favorite hands down. Highway frontage was so fun!!!

This is a very nice campground. The entire place has cement pads. The areas are separated for the long term and the newer sections. Despite what others have said the office staff is super nice and Valerie was very nice to let us come in early without charging us. This place is clean. Having the dumpsters by the front may seem inconvenient to some people but it keeps it away from all rigs. Very convenient when leaving and easy to get to. They have lots of activities and a great welcome package. Being on the flight path is a definite issue but we knew that when we reserved. Most campgrounds are by train stations or highways anyway. The planes stop around 10p and resume around 5a. It is what it is. I wear earplugs "Mack's" and never hear a thing. Yes, there are children. If people don't want children the. Go elsewhere to a 55-+ campground. Jacksonville has limited campgrounds close to the city and this beats Flamingo for sites and clean. I recommend for anyone.

We live close by and just bought a brand new 20 ft. travel trailer. I heard you have RV storage. If so, how much is rent?

Thank you for your inquiry. Our Resort is undergoing a 100 site expansion which is expanding through our storage area. Storage is currently unavailable.

And loads of different types of camping/cabin rentals available. And a pool! This day I went just to walk the trails and it's amazing how you can feel so far in the woods while still being basically in a neighborhood. The trails aren't very long but plenty to see along the way. I liked the tree house trail and seeing the neat treehouses you can camp in. And the views over the river are gorgeous down the jungle trail. If you need to get out to touch grass, highly suggest this spot!

Such a fun time last night at Camp Chowenwaw!…read more We stayed in one of the treehouses, number 5 to be specific. There was so much wildlife to be heard throughout the night including owls, woodpeckers, and what we think were crickets or maybe lubbers. The bathrooms and shower areas were very clean for a park/camping area. There are different trails to explore along the path to the treehouses, which we didn't have a chance to do. We suggest bringing a sheet or blanket to cover your mattresses. Each treehouse has 2 twin sized bunk beds (total of 4 mattresses). They are VERY uncomfortable, so if you need extra support, you should probably bring a mattress topper/padding. The grills were pretty clean, just need some dusting off before cooking, though, nothing out of the ordinary. Upkeep for everything was great!

The pavilion was nice and covered perfect for our big picnic! Right next to us was the bathrooms, shop, and little restaurant. The beach is beautiful and the water is stunning, be prepared to walk across a lot of sand to get to the water part. After swimming, we went to get some ice cream from the shop, and I got a root beer float, which was good. Overall, such a nice time!

It was definitely windy, but honestly it didn't take away from the experience at all. If anything it made the waves more fun to watch and kept things from getting too hot. The playground was a big hit with the kids. They had a great time running around and burning off energy while we relaxed nearby. It's one of those spots where both adults and kids can enjoy themselves without feeling cramped or bored. Between the scenery, the clean beach, and the family friendly setup, this is an easy five star stop. Would come back again without thinking twice.
