I recently ate at Flamingo Landing in Gulfport, and it was legit good eats! I ordered the Mahi Mahi tacos while my aunt ordered the jerk chicken pasta, and we shared the jalapeño chicken appetizer. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. What stood out most to me, especially as a Californian, was the homemade touch in every bite. The tacos had homemade pico de gallo, guacamole, pickled onions, and taco sauce. You can really taste the care and effort they put into making things from scratch. Pair that with a gorgeous waterfront view and friendly, welcoming staff, and you've got a perfect dining experience. I'm visiting from out of town, but I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more of their menu. Highly recommend! read more

Flamingo Landing is located next to the bridge on Lorraine Road, and sits right on Bayou Bernard with a dock for boaters. It was originally named Marina Cantina but is under new ownership. Parking is a bit sparse here, and you used to be able to park under the bridge but that was blocked off last time I went. You may have to park in the overflow gravel lot just west of the building, which also serves as parking for the excellent Blue Dog Bistro next door. We started with the Tres Amigos appetizer, which included a pile of fresh chips combined with salsa, cheese sauce, and black bean sauce. It was great and really meant for more than two people. They don't skimp on this one. I've been here several times and always get the Shrimp A Go Go poboy, which is pictured here. Although I feel like it could have used a few more shrimp for the price point, it was really good and comes with this creamy sort of salsa that pairs well with the fried shrimp. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich, and honestly it was bigger and looked better than my poboy. I am definitely trying that next time. I hope this place is doing well because it never seems very busy when we go. It's like something is missing on the inside to liven it up. Our tables were covered in epoxy that was cracked and we saw buckling on the wood floors, most likely from humidity. Service has always been pretty quick and I have never had any complaints. I know the City caused a lot of drama for the previous owners, which is unfortunate. On our way to the airport at the end of our Biloxi excursion we stopped in here for a quick bite. Great venue on the water. Nice and open. Big place with plenty of seating. Had a beachy vibe. Had to have some Duck and andouille gumbo. So good ! Get a bowl. It was pretty darn tasty. We also had some Epic deviled eggs. These were just ok. Nothing really 'epic' about them but good. Finally we had some Flamingo chicken bombs. Deep fried tenders and jalapeños. Pretty tasty and hot! Bailey our server was awesome and offered great suggestions. Overall 3.75 Stars On the Bayou Bernard in Gulf Post, MS, the restaurant served New Orleans flavor with various seafood, burgers and chicken entrees. The place sits right on bayou and has a dock with a few boat slips, if you traveling via the water. Or just drive there. Decent amount of parking spots but can get really full quickly. There are indoor and outdoor seating that can accommodate a lot of patrons. Also, there is an outside kids area. Perfect area for family and the weather is gorgeous! They can run around while you eat but be mindful of them cuz of the water and other customers. Staff: 4 Stars We had a wait for about 20 minutes to be seated at 11 am on Saturday. They weren't full due to limited staff. Food: 3.25 - 4 Stars Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos 3.25 Stars. Blackened mahi, avocado, cotija cheese, cabbage, pickled onions, chipotle sauce, cilantro, on flour tortillas with choice of side. You will receive 3 Flour tacos. The Mahi Mahi were grilled and blackened. The fish was juicy and tendered. However, chipotle sauce was too sweet and tasted w more of a Smokey bbq sauce. We all agree not to have the sauce on it. The shoe strings fries were golden and perfectly fried. Hot and crunchy. The dish would have had a higher rating but it was served with flour instead of corn tortillas. Which don't they don have. Bummer. Jerk Shrimp Tacos - 4 Stars - Jerk shrimp, mango salsa, grilled pineapple, cabbage, crystal gastrique, sliced radish, cilantro, on flour tortillas with choice of side. The jerk shrimp were a lot better than the Mahi Mahi. The mango salsa had the right punch of flavor of heat and sweetness to it. They should served the salsa on the Mahi Mahi tacos instead of the chipotle sauce. Chicken Tenders and Fries - 3.25 Stars Just your typical tenders and fries but they were hot and crunchy. Cowan Road Cheeseburger w egg. 3.25 stars. A double beef patty burger, american cheese, garlic mayo, spring lettuce, red onion, pickles, served on a toasted brioche bun with fries. It was decent with the fried egg but the meat was a little bit dry. Crawfish Toast - Appetizer 4.25 Stars - Toasted leidenheimer french bread topped with crawfish tails, cheese, tomatoes, and garlic. A bit of a mixed bag. The Nachos we got were just fantastic. I'm talking best nachos I've had in a hot minute. The route 605 biscuits and gravy were just okay. My wife's shrimp and grits were apparently good. The two kids combos seemed just okay. Food wait time was a bit longer than it needed to be versus the amount of people there. Our server was I believe named Lana? She was delightful. Another worker was a bit rude to my wife? We were sat next to one of the retractable screen walls and she very coldly told my wife to move out of the way when it was being raised. It was a bit odd. We come here fairly often so I really need to write a review. I'll start by saying that the space is awesome. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio and two different indoor seating areas. The restaurant is on the water and boasts beautiful views. They can seat groups small or large and they're also dog friendly. The service is the one thing that cost a star. It can be pretty hit or miss. Sometimes it is super slow and other times the servers are on point and doing well. My most recent visit was one of those lackluster experiences. The food is great. I like their poke bowl and they have amazing fish tacos. Their brunch is also very good. They have awesome drinks. I like the frozen rose the best. Definitely a great place to visit! read more

Came into Flamingo Landing with my father and uncle during Cruising the Coast in 2023. We were greeted and seated promptly with a great view of the water. The server came and delivered menus and drinks quickly and we rested our food. The food came out fast, hot and delicious. I had a burger that was very tasty and well cooked with delicious fries. The waitress was attentive and did her job very well. The prices were about what you'd expect from a place on the water. Overall I would recommend Flamingo Landing for their service and food. The interior was clean as were their restrooms. I will come back next year again when I'm at Cruising the Coast 2024. read more

I really don't often give 5 stars but I really like this place! Great food, great ambiance, live music, and DOG FRIENDLY! Been here twice, tried Baja shrimp tacos (fried and comes with a sauce/slaw - do recommend you add a squeeze of lime though!) and Gulf Coast sizzle burger (wow! Haven't had a gooood burger in a long time). Tried their dreamsicle daiquiri and it's refreshing and tasty - would've like it to be a little more vanilla-y to remind me of the popsicle but still great. Look out for the drink specials of the day and happy hours. Live music on most days. Patio has large scale toys for kids and allows for dogs to sit outside with you. read more

This place is super cute. We sat outside by the water. It's family friendly with outdoor games the kids can play so it's great especially when the weather is nice. A musician setup to play guitar/sing which was the perfect touch. There is also a covered bar area and an inside portion as well if that suits your taste. A little something for everyone. Our server was perfect! She was patient while we hung out and talked. The food was solid and fresh. The menu was also fairly extensive so plenty of options to pick from. The tuna salad I would absolutely recommend. They also have a local business, Pop Brothers, dessert available! It was three different flavors, today but looks like they may carry more on restock day. I was disappointed. Had high hopes since it came up as 1 0n yelp. But 1) there is not much of a selection at all. I even overheard someone else saying the menu was limited on what they could eat. 2) I ordered royal red low country boil. Usually I loooove royal reds. These were over cooked and hard to peel. Also the corn and potatoes tasted and looked like they tossed boil seasoning once it was cooked. Also did not like the broccoli that had some sprinkled cheese on it (not melted). So, first things first. I went for a quick dinner before a show and while I would love to go back for the cute outdoor seating and such, I didn't get to do it this time. That's saves this place to get another visit from me. Looking at previous reviews for FL it seems my visit review may have been jilted by the dishes i chose. Let's start with the best opinions of the evening. The service was excellent with attentive staff all around, at one point I even leaned over to the bar to ask for a lime really quickly while our waitress was busy and they grabbed me one with no problems. The seating was really cute as well with us up against the window and I LOVED the view. I ordered the grilled fish and broccoli and while the toppings were decent the flavor left something to be desired. The broccoli was AHHHHmazing though. The crab claw appetizer was pretty good but came out as more of a "soup" which was a little weird to eat crab claws in but lovely dip for the bread. My friend got the shrimp tacos and said they were good! They had a lot of lettuce but the flavor and presentation were good. My other friend got the chicken tacos (i think) and the chicken was a little pink in the middle so she ate around that. I'm sure if we would have alerted the waitress, she would have been happy to fix it up. TLDR: The food was alright, the service was good, live music was great. Found this place on yelp and the atmosphere is soooo cute!! Our server was Justine, I believe? My husband sat and waited for a refill and the server came to the table on side of us. I turned toward her and waited for her to finish helping them, we caught eyes, and she walked away. Another 5 minutes passed & my husband eventually just walked up to the bar and our server was standing there & said "oh sweetie, she doesn't even have Dr Pepper behind the bar. Let me save you a trip." And grabbed the cup and refilled it. Husband came back kind of aggravated because she had an attitude like she did us a favor when we had to wait and eventually walk to go get our own refill. I had high hopes for the Flamingo i had been wanting to try them for a while. I'll start off by saying that the food was good, and the bartender was very sweet she made me a great drink. When we came in, we asked to be seated outside and were told no due to being short staffed. Then immediately the next 2 parties who entered were seated outside one of which requested to be changed to inside seating. so why were we told we couldn't sit outside. We went to meet my sister for her 1 hour lunch break, though we didn't get our food until over an hour after we sat down, and we arrived 30 minutes before she did. There were about 4 or 5 tables that were seated after us, ALL of which got their orders taken and received their food before us. Our waitress was sweet to us directly, but i have been a waitress and this is NOT how you do service. My sister had to change hers to go because she had no time to eat with us. While celebrating our first anniversary in Gulfport, MS, my wife and I decided to check out this place. I must say that Flamingo Landing did not disappoint. Our server (cannot remember his name) was extremely welcoming, polite, and professional. I had the Shrimp and Grits, and my wife had the Baja Shrimp Tacos. And of course I checked online and read some reviews and statements saying they are dog friendly and people having their pets with them. I did not cause any issue or a scene. My dog was a good boy and had no issue. Honestly, that man was rude towards me and I felt a tinge of racism from him. Other than that, things were good. Did not get a good aura or vibe from him. It took a little time for both our appetizers and entrees. For entrees we got the burger with fries, the shrimp Po'Boy and the jerk chicken burrito. The Po'Boy was just ok for me. It came with lettuce tomato and pickles on it and tartar sauce. It felt like it was missing something. The burrito was messy but very good and so was the burger. Arrived and was put on the waiting list at 12:02, I was told a 20 minute wait and this was a bit of a shock because at least half the building was empty. We sat and had a drink while we waited and after an hour wait I asked the bartender if we could just order at the bar and she told me it would be a 20-30 wait for food. When I asked why I was told they had a bunch of workers call out, this was my second time to the restaurant and the first time was just as bad and when I asked the server why it was so long of a wait I was told the same thing that day. We dined inside and it was freezing so we asked if our garage door window could be opened. That helped but invited the flies in. We preferred swatting flies to freezing. Our server was nice. She's was very friendly and helpful. We both did the seafood boils and here is where it all went left. We got tons of food BUT tons of unseasoned food. Our server brought us some old bay seasoning and that saved the day. I was so disappointed. I guess in my head I'm thinking a seafood boil like in a bag. Flamingo Landing is a great place to eat and enjoy the best atmosphere in the Coast! Food is a great example of Gulf Coast cuisine, like the Crawfish pasta. And the drink selection is great - it has a great alcoholic beverages like daiquiris and beer on tap! The service offers a great friendly attitude and it never disappoints! Very cool place with indoor and outdoor seating. On the back water and had a stage for nightly entertainment. A lot of space in waiting areas along the water and even had a play area for kids. Very clean and wait staff were friendly. We ordered the jerk chicken and jerk shrimp tacos. They come with 3 and a side. Our sides were some kind of corn dish (similar to street corn). Our server was new and friendly, but obviously had not worked at a restaurant before. No refills, no silverware unless asked for. Extremely slow service, and half our table was served 10 minutes before the other half. The food looks good, but lacks flavor. Do not recommend the sautéed crab claws. The shrimp were hot, temp not flavor, but not consistently cooked. They do not have any crab crackers for the crab legs (told management is aware but have not ordered any). The tacos were bland. Our dinner experience was hit or miss: table of 12, all in our 60's or 70's, set up right in front of the musician, who was excellent, but made conversation difficult for all, impossible for others. We had called a day ahead to make sure they could accommodate my wife's IBS dietary limitations. They said she could have steak or pork chop with shoestring potatoes without seasoning and cooked in a separate fryer and a salad with oil and vinegar. When we first ordered this was ok, but when our server brought out her salad it was without dressing and they said they shave oil and vinegar. Puzzling. When the steak was brought out it was cold and without potatoes; the manager came out to say they couldn't do the potatoes so she could have plain white rice. They did prepare another steak for her, but it was only lukewarm, the problem being it was so thin it couldn't be cooked rare and hot. During our lengthy discussion with the manager my dinner had gotten cold as well, but I wasn't about to cause any moree problems, so ate cold mahi. Earlier when the food began arriving and everyone else had been enjoying their drinks for awhile I reminded our server that we had ordered 2 glasses of wine. She said then that they were out of that wine, would we like something else. Though my wife ended up without a salad, it was still on our bill and I had to ask for it to be removed. She recommended the crawfish toast as an appetizer, I'm from South Louisiana and let me tell you the appetizer was amazingly good. For our meal we got two double meat cheese burgers and they were also tasty delicious. Our side salad were fresh and crisp with some house made dressing that were perfect, and to boot they had live music which created a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this establishment. Downstairs seating and outdoor area next to the boat docks. Yard games, drinks, foods, ahhhh. I got the Jamaican Jerk Tacos. I asked about getting them lettuce wrapped and it was no issue. Flavor on flavour in these. Will say top 2 or 3 I have had before. Mango relish on top was Devine. I also got a side of Pepper Jack grits and Black Beans with rice. Both very good and flavourful. Black beans had a nice bit of pico which had some nice bite to it. Server was very attentive even in the lunch rush. It was a full house.
