    Shrimp & Grits

A bit of a mixed bag. The Nachos we got were just fantastic. I'm talking best nachos I've had in a hot minute. The route 605 biscuits and gravy were just okay. My wife's shrimp and grits were apparently good. The two kids combos seemed just okay. Food wait time was a bit longer than it needed to be versus the amount of people there. Our server was I believe named Lana? She was delightful. Another worker was a bit rude to my wife? We were sat next to one of the retractable screen walls and she very coldly told my wife to move out of the way when it was being raised. It was a bit odd. It's not like we were sitting away from the table. I'd probably give this place another try only because the nachos were so good and our server was awesome but we'll see!

The food was good the service was awesome. Not everyday you get served with a smile and you feel like they genuinely are there to serve you. Everyone loved their food.

Super cute stop with nice lake views. I would've liked to have visited when the outdoor space was open but that just didn't happen. We did enjoy our club sandwich and the portion size was enough to share. Couldn't beat the $3 rum special either! Only downside was the bartender was apparently brand new and I ordered two different rum drinks but I couldn't tell they were different.

We come here fairly often so I really need to write a review. I'll start by saying that the space is awesome. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio and two different indoor seating areas. The restaurant is on the water and boasts beautiful views. They can seat groups small or large and they're also dog friendly. The service is the one thing that cost a star. It can be pretty hit or miss. Sometimes it is super slow and other times the servers are on point and doing well. My most recent visit was one of those lackluster experiences. The food is great. I like their poke bowl and they have amazing fish tacos. Their brunch is also very good. They have awesome drinks. I like the frozen rose the best. Definitely a great place to visit!

I had a chicken Caesar salad with a cranberry bottomless mimoas which was really good. The service was good. Nice vibe.

Brunch with a view! Five stars!

The blue crab fondue is a must have! We went for brunch today - and sat downstairs by the water. Excellent service and delicious food.

This is a cool restaurant. The mahi mahi tacos were good. The fish was fresh. The deviled eggs were delicious with the added bacon on top. The nacho portion was large - definitely a shareable item. Even the broccoli was good and seasoned. We will be back.

Came into Flamingo Landing with my father and uncle during Cruising the Coast in 2023. We were greeted and seated promptly with a great view of the water. The server came and delivered menus and drinks quickly and we rested our food. The food came out fast, hot and delicious. I had a burger that was very tasty and well cooked with delicious fries. The waitress was attentive and did her job very well. The prices were about what you'd expect from a place on the water. Overall I would recommend Flamingo Landing for their service and food. The interior was clean as were their restrooms. I will come back next year again when I'm at Cruising the Coast 2024.

This place is super cute. We sat outside by the water. It's family friendly with outdoor games the kids can play so it's great especially when the weather is nice. A musician setup to play guitar/sing which was the perfect touch. There is also a covered bar area and an inside portion as well if that suits your taste. A little something for everyone. Our server was perfect! She was patient while we hung out and talked. The food was solid and fresh. The menu was also fairly extensive so plenty of options to pick from. The tuna salad I would absolutely recommend. They also have a local business, Pop Brothers, dessert available! It was three different flavors, today but looks like they may carry more on restock day. I absolutely love this brand and follow them on Instagram so that was a nice surprise to see at a restaurant. 10/10 would come back here if I was in the area again!

Found this place on yelp and the atmosphere is soooo cute!! Our server was Justine, I believe? My husband sat and waited for a refill and the server came to the table on side of us. I turned toward her and waited for her to finish helping them, we caught eyes, and she walked away. Another 5 minutes passed & my husband eventually just walked up to the bar and our server was standing there & said "oh sweetie, she doesn't even have Dr Pepper behind the bar. Let me save you a trip." And grabbed the cup and refilled it. Husband came back kind of aggravated because she had an attitude like she did us a favor when we had to wait and eventually walk to go get our own refill. Besides the service, our food was great and we would revisit and hopefully have a new server!

I had high hopes for the Flamingo i had been wanting to try them for a while. I'll start off by saying that the food was good, and the bartender was very sweet she made me a great drink. When we came in, we asked to be seated outside and were told no due to being short staffed. Then immediately the next 2 parties who entered were seated outside one of which requested to be changed to inside seating. so why were we told we couldn't sit outside. We went to meet my sister for her 1 hour lunch break, though we didn't get our food until over an hour after we sat down, and we arrived 30 minutes before she did. There were about 4 or 5 tables that were seated after us, ALL of which got their orders taken and received their food before us. Our waitress was sweet to us directly, but i have been a waitress and this is NOT how you do service. My sister had to change hers to go because she had no time to eat with us. Maybe we'll try back on a weekend and be more attended to. We enjoyed the food but likely will not be coming back to this establishment

My wife and I having a blast.

While celebrating our first anniversary in Gulfport, MS, my wife and I decided to check out this place. I must say that Flamingo Landing did not disappoint. Our server (cannot remember his name) was extremely welcoming, polite, and professional. I had the Shrimp and Grits, and my wife had the Baja Shrimp Tacos. We also had the Crab Fondue as an appetizer. The food was absolutely delicious. Just when I thought the night couldn't get any better, they had live music to enhance the already amazing ambience. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Gulfport.

I'm only giving three stars because our server was amazing. Such a lovely gal. However, a white man came up to me and asked if my dog was a service dog???? And of course I checked online and read some reviews and statements saying they are dog friendly and people having their pets with them. I did not cause any issue or a scene. My dog was a good boy and had no issue. Honestly, that man was rude towards me and I felt a tinge of racism from him. Other than that, things were good. Did not get a good aura or vibe from him. I can tell what kind of person he is already. Food is good. As I left; a dog came with a white man. Obviously he didn't kick that man out. SMH.

Usually if you can find a space, there will be a table open so keep that in mind if you think it might be too busy and you don't want to wait. In addition to the great stuff like boiled shrimp or crawfish, they also have wonderful poboys that are packed with whatever you want on them. I opted for grilled shrimp on my last visit, but fried shrimp is great as well. If you order an optional side, you will get plenty like onion rings, fried okra, or fries. They also have daily specials like shrimp or catfish baskets, and currently on Saturdays you can get a pound of royal reds with potatoes and corn for roughly twenty bucks. Royal reds are a premium kind of deep sea shrimp that are more like lobster and very meaty. I highly recommend trying them if you've only ever had regular gulf shrimp before. Service here is always good because the place is small and they keep it well-staffed. Waitresses will keep your drinks filled constantly and they pay attention well. You won't be ignored here, so service is quick and the food comes out fast. Definitely give this place a try.

I know that was a long time ago. I am so glad they had this new restaurant. So much bigger and located where we use to have our boat. So much has changed for the better. It is way bigger place than the old one. They have cleared out a lot of area that surrounds it. If you saw it before you would not believe the difference. This place has plenty of parking. They have no only the front for regular parking. If you require more convenient parking and access. Recommend parking on the eastern side. Plenty of parking and access ramp. They also have an outdoor patio area and seating on the first floor when weather permits and open. Otherwise, they offer stairs to the front of their restaurant on the upper deck. You are welcome to hostess table in the lobby or front depending. They offer a full bar on the left. (Drink responsibly) They offer an outdoor patio and live music from time to time. Definitely recommend seating outside whether it is on the bottom floor or outside patio. When the weather permits. They staff is so friendly and welcoming. At time we went, they asked we are free to sit anywhere you like. We opted for a booth seating. The regular table seats are hard wood seat with no padding. They also offer booth seating on the outer edge. They are padded both back and bottom. Both are very comfortable to sit in. Do not recommend sitting in them for long. In my opinion. As soon as we sat down, I believe her name was Christina. She was amazing. She made sure our brief stay was great! Usually I get a sweet tea. But Christina was so convincing to get something else. Started out with an ice water and pina coloda frozen daiquiri. Got an ice water and sweet tea also. She quickly came back with our drinks and mentioned that he will be back with the daiquiri soon. She asked if we would like to start with an appetizer. She recommended the jalapeños and mentioned that it is not spicy but has a little kick since it is a pepper. She mentioned they remove the seeds that make it spicy. We opted to get it since she made so appealing. She also asked what else we wanted to get. She mentioned that they have a special offer for fresh boiled crawfish. How could we say no to crawfish! We ordered an order of crawfish. Got an order of hamburger steak and side of fries. She asked if crabmeat salad or regular salad? Decided to get a regular salad instead. Had to get an order of oyster sampler. Love the variety of flavors they offer. And of course round out with a fried key lime pie for dessert. Apparently they have gained a wonderful reputation for their key lime pie. Both fresh regular and fried pie. She we had to get one! After a little wait. She started to bring out the good stuff. Slowly started bringing out salad and the appetizer. The smell was so amazing! Shortly afterwards. The main course, came available. They were all hot and fresh! We had to give some time for the crawfish and oysters to cool down. In the end, it was so delicious. Christina was so funny! Hope y'all have room for dessert? She also mentioned that they are well known for their key lime pie. I am so glad we ordered it. To experience the best. Many places use regular crust. In this case, they use a very flavorful gram-cracker crust. They only offer military discount for active duty only. They offer free Wi-Fi but is password protected. This place never disappoints. Whether it was the old one or the new restaurant. Make this part of your dining experience if in the area.

Their staple dish in the steak and shrimp, but they have many other offerings. The restaurant is located in a raised building right next to Bayou Bernard, which connects to the Gulf of Mexico but is located a couple miles north of the beach. They also have a huge marina out front so you can arrive here by boat or car. They have plenty of outdoor seating as well as indoor, so even when the parking lot looks packed, you should go see if a table is available before turning away. We started with the fried green tomatoes, which came with pickled onions and a bunch of large fresh shrimp on top. It was fantastic and way more fancy than we expected. Their dishes come with a ground krab salad (spelled with a K because it's not actually crab but the other stuff) and they are kind of famous for that. The honey mustard dressing has a kick so be ready. We've also had their stuffed jalapenos but wanted to try something different this time. Their staple dish is the steak and shrimp, which also includes a side and I usually go with the stuffed baked potato. The steak is grilled over pecan wood, and it is easily one of the best steaks on the coast. The normal portion is 10-12 ounces but you can upgrade to a 16 ounce. Our was served hot off the grill and perfectly cooked. They also use large plump shrimp and not those dinky little ones you often find at chain restaurants. I usually end up bringing part of the dish home. Service was fantastic and it's the kind of place where they have extra help to clean tables, refill drinks, and so on. You won't be left there with an empty drink if your server gets tied up with another table. I was really impressed by how attentive they were, even on a busy Saturday night. Definitely check out Captain Al's if you're in the area. They have been in business for decades and know what they're doing.
