I got curious about it and thought I check it out. Perfect timing, I was hungry at the time we went. We stopped in for lunch. It was busy but not too busy. I noticed a lot of vehicles in the parking lot. I was wondering if we could get a table. As we walked up, the hostess greeted us with a smile and sat us down right away. The atmosphere is casual but with an upbeat tone. I do not know how the experience in the evening is. However, during lunch time seems to be a great casual /classy lunch experience. I forgot her name, she was amazing! She asked if we like something to drink. I mentioned it was too early for a drink. Much appreciated. They do have a large selection of alcohol. (Drink responsibly). If not drink, how about delicious appetizer. We thank her and declined on both. Just ask for sweet tea. She came back with our drinks. She mentioned that they are offering special if we are interested. It sounds great so I asked for it. We started out with the silly Philly sandwich that comes with fries. Looks delicious. The sandwich is melted cheese with sliced thin steak meat. Comes with thinly sliced green peppers and onions. And of course, the special. It looks so delicious as it came out. I surprised how big it was. Appeared to be a big a large potato or size of two potatoes. Loaded up with small pieces of steak, shrimp, green peppers, onions, sauce (hard to describe), and light dusting of seasoning on it. Overall, great experience! We are glad we went. WiFi I can tell. Not much as far as ambiance, as the building gives off old boat storage warehouse vibes, but I'll say that all of our food definitely hit the mark! My husband and I both had the blackened fish lunch special, and today it was an Asian bass since they were out of Mahi Mahi. The fish was exceptional, cooked perfectly. All of the sides were great, zero complaints about a thing! We had green beans, a baked potato, side salads, and my son had broccoli with his kids meal. Everything was excellent. I am so pleased with this second choice! The fried green tomatoes and the Boudin eggrolls were enough for me to be satisfied. They were so good! I would come back just for the tomatoes!!! Our entrées were good as well, but I think we were so full from our appetizers that we didn't get to enjoy them fully like we wanted to. Drinks were good. I had a whiskey sour and my friend had an old-fashioned. Everything was right on point. I had a good meal here. That's for damn sure! Thank yo, Sully, or however you are. It's in a strange building that seems to be part old, part new. It's a cool setup with some dining in the main room, some other dining on the other side with a nice covered patio. My lunch companions explained that they do bare knuckle boxing upstairs with a ring and all. That sounds interesting for sure. Apparently, this place is name after a legendary bare knuckle fighter of some kind. I would bet a dollar that his name was "Sully". When you walk in and approach the host, there is an outside rain down spout that runs inside from the roof directly behind the host stand to some French drains in the floor. It looks odd, out of place, and intentional enough looking to be a part of someone's clever idea of interior design. I asked the hostess if rain actually came down it when it rained. She said "yes, it does, and boy is it fun". I picked up on her sarcasm but did not inquire about her disdain, as she just snatched the menus and led us to our table. She needs a hug I think. My guests all suggested the burgers. Strongly, multiple times. They also said the steaks were good which is HIGHLY subjective. I generally don't eat steaks at places with metal chairs. I just wasn't in the mood for a burger, so I went for the Fried Pork Chop plate lunch. It was described as pounded with a mallet and flattened, then fried. I guess they were, I was thinking they would be thinner. I had onion rings from the freezer section of your local Sysco and mashed potatoes that were fair. Pork Chops were really tasty but the breading sloughed off very easily. They served the meal with Honey Gold sauce. Totally fucking strange. The little cornbread was very tasty. A couple of them did get burgers and they looked good enough to eat. I didn't get pics, I don't know them that well yet. Mikey got the grilled pork chop lunch. WTF, again Mikey?!?!? His hushpuppy strings looked interesting. He didn't give me any. Asshat. I will give this place another visit if I ever find it again. First time dining here. Can not believe I just discovered this place. Went for a birthday dinner celebration. Service was awesome and the food was outstanding. We ordered the prime ribeye and filet. Food and service make this a good option for food. We didn't try the steaks because the prices seemed out of place with the otherwise affordable menu. My real grip is with the floor. They are very slippery, as if there is a thin film of oil on the floor. I mentioned to the hostess that they need to mop the floor with a degreaser and she said they regularly clean them. I can't believe this. Walking on them was a little frightening as I had my 78yo in-law in our group. It was like walking on ice during the winter months. Today is Christmas Eve, for the past few years my wife and I start the day going to the casino for a few hours then we go to Sully's and have a couple of drinks and order takeout, The food is always great and the drinks are exceptional. Our bartender Jordan made us her version of a pina colada margarita that was outstanding. Then the staff surprised us by coming out and singing we wish you a Merry Christmas which made our day. This is actually the only place on the coast that I know of aside from Ruths Chris and 32 that has steaks out of this world. Basically they have prime steaks and that's pretty big because lately I found out that no other place has that except those two above mention places, so basically there are three places on the coast where I eat steaks and this is the best one to me. The other two are special occasion places this place I can order DoorDash or just pick up a steak whenever I'm in the mood. We were given plastic cups and told they were out of normal glasses, while others were given normal right in front of us. Ordered wine.....it also came in a plastic cheap cup. For a long time I've been a big fan of Sully's, but had previously only been to the Hattiesburg location. Decided to try out this location for my birthday with some friends on the coast. Food was good as usual but there is a significant drop in service compared to the Hattiesburg location. Our server was a young woman who seemed pretty annoyed to be serving. She not once remembered who ordered what dish or drink when they were brought out and got upset with me when I told her she gave me the wrong drink. As someone who has worked with the public for years I understand serving can be stressful but part of working in the service industry means hiding that frustration and not letting it affect your customers. Overall food was fine, but the attitude received from the staff put a real damper on the night for our whole party. I'd advise going to the Hattiesburg location alternatively for overall better service. read more
