We knew we were going to wait since we wanted to seat outside just to be extra cautious. After a little more than one hour waiting it was finally out turn only to find out that smoking was allowed which defeated the whole reasoning of our thinking. Having waited for that long, we decided to stay. Food was only ok. Our server was nowhere around when we needed her. We ordered Honey mustard and had to go to the kitchen and finally telephone the restaurant in order to get it. One of us ordered a Coors light but switched to an Stella since they were out of it. However we were charged for both items. Also, they charge 8% tax instead of 7%. Percentage is not displayed , only the rate. Definitely not worth the wait . read more

I'm so glad I made the effort to go here...except having arrived at 11:15 sharp I was told that I could not eat here because the place would close at 12. Despite the posting on Yelp for 12:30. What is going on with this? Arrive at least 45 minutes BEFORE CLOSING ( even if 5hats a special case for that night) and be turned away. Outrageous customer disservice, rude, run by screw ups. Should be ashamed of this behavior. I drove 25 minutes to be told, the are go8ng to close arbitrarily. No reason given. Go ahead , try them and see for yourself. Honestly, I wish I could choose zero stars. Let me start by saying the last time I was at this Flanigan's was about 4 years ago. We went for a friends birthday and the server was so rude we ate our appetizers, finished our drinks and left to have entrees at another restaurant near by. The manager who got involved was also rude. So I've never gone back. Today, a friend who lives near by this location suggested we have dinner here. They recently remodeled so I figured it's been a long time since the last experience, I'd like to see the remodel and what are the odds we'd have another crappy server? Apparently, the answer is high. The hostesses were super nice, we chatted with them a little before being sat. But o ur server was worse than stepping in a steamy pile of dog shit on your way to a job interview. I'd like to add that I've been to Flanigan's probably 200 times in my whole life. My local flani's are in Doral and Hialeah which I have never once had any problems at either. I'm a bartender and have been in the biz over 15 years. And so are the other girls in our party of 4. We are extremely understanding. We can tell if someone is weeded or they're having a bad day. We always make friends with our server to ensure they are having a good time with us as well. And tip BIG. So when this girl messed up our drink orders, forgot the water several times and brought us a pitcher of beer with no mugs we were like ok it's fine. Then when she took our order she kept telling us we couldn't do things we know we could. I've gotten pasta salad as my side every time since I was a kid. It's one of my favorite things there. But she insisted I couldn't do that. She also wouldn't get us a side of lemon sauce - for an extra charge as we expect - which we also always get. We could over look some of these things if she was actually nice. This girl had the driest personality. Like none existent. And when we would ask for a refill (which she never asked if we wanted) or some napkins, anything, she would stare at us hard. Once she took our order she repeated it to us, correctly, yet our food still came out wrong. That can be a kitchen error. Doubt it but we don't know at that point so we can't assume. When we asked her about the errors her answer was always "I'm not sure I have to check the computer." Which makes no sense since she's the one that put it in but we responded "ok" every time. Then when the time came for the check she asked us if we were going to split it. We had a gift card which we wanted to use and then split the rest equally between the four of us. One girl was paying with her card and the rest of us cash. She said we weren't able to do that. We either had to make one payment or she would would give us our own individual checks. Which we didn't want. We shared lots of appetizers and a pitcher. Plus we got the gift card together during the holidays when they had a special if you spent over $100 you would get a gift card so we felt it was all of our card and wanted to share it between us all. It's 2021, even tiny ma and pop shops let you split checks. And once again, we've done it a million times at Flani's. Since she insisted we said fine. Then when she brought our individual checks we could see how she rang in the food and why it was messed up. She even charged one of us more for her meal. When asked why it was like that again she said "I have to check the computer." I finally asked for the manager. When he came he didn't say hi, he just stood there which was super weird. I explained all we wanted was the price fixed and to pay the way I explained. He said of course we could pay like that and he helped us out. He never apologized or acted like he cared, it felt more like a bother but whatever it was fixed. Once she brought back the one credit card receipt she stood at the table waiting for her tip. We still tipped $20 on $114 which really was much more than she deserved but way less. than we would have tipped if she was even slightly better. Plus it seriously is the rudest thing to stand at the table while people were figuring out your tip. When we were leaving a guy at the table behind us said stopped us and said "she is the worst server." We agreed. I feel bad because normally I like to write good reviews but after two bad experiences I couldn't help it. I have to warn any unsuspecting patrons that if you go to this location you are playing Russian roulette with your dinning experience. I will stick to my local Flanigan's but will definitely NEVER go to that location again. Someone from corporate might want to go check on the way that store is being ran to be honest. I ordered to go 2 days ago. Egg rolls, a burger, and nachos for my family. I was the only one who ate a couple of egg rolls and half the burger. I had not eaten anything else that day. I woke up yesterday with nausea, I was vomiting and also had diarrhea. I went to the hospital because it just got worse and they told me it was food poisoning! Do not go here. I don't know what happened but this place really isn't the same as before. I feel disgusting thanks to them and I'm out a few hundred bucks from going to the ER. I'm a newbie here at Flanigans but this place quite impressive from the moment I arrived. There's a gorgeous wall sized aquarium that kids and adults will enjoy as you wait to be seated, which wasn't very long at all. I like the fact that there's dining areas tucked away In different rooms makes the experience feel more private and honey for me. The service was very amazing the lovely waitress was overly accommodating and quick. Which is great since I had absolutely no idea what to order my first time here but I didn't want chicken or ribs strangely enough lol. The Philly cheese steak did not disappoint, with its gooey collaboration of mushrooms, onions, and melted cheese It ranks among some of the best Phillies I've had in a while. I had the worst experience here tonight! I have been eating at flanigans for over 10 years and today something very out of character happened to me and my family! Every time I am waiting for a table we grab a beer. This is a usual practice for us, I was completely unaware of the rules and that this was not allowed as I've been doing it for years, LITERALLY. Anyhow, I was told I would have a 30 min wait which I was was already for 45 mins and still had not been called. No problem, I'll be patient. My son, 11 years old, is standing next to me and my husband drinking a soda while we have a beer and talk waiting for our table. Again, I've been here countless times and this has never been a problem. My husband goes to the hostess to ask when we would be called to be seated as it was already 45 mins later and they had told us they would call us in 30 mins or less. When he leaves, one of the hostesses, an older Caucasian woman, comes and asks me why my son is at the bar. I said sorry, he's just having a soda while I wait for my table. She says, "Oh, you're not supposed to be in here! That's not very nice of you to skip all those people waiting in line!" At this point, I am quite hungry as I hadn't eaten all day and I really just wanted a table so I apologized and said I didn't know we weren't allowed at the bar as I've been waiting at the bar for years at this same exact location (and others because I've been to almost every location in South Florida), and no one has ever told me anything. I thought this was normal. If they started more restrictions because of COVID19 and I have not been back since March, it is impossible for me to know that we are no longer allowed to wait at the bar if no one tells me. I am convinced this lady was on some sort of alcohol or drug that caused her to react this way, or she was just an angry person. She tells my son to sit at this chair behind a table and walks away. She proceeds to look for my husband and screams at him in front of everyone at the front of the restaurant! And then she kicks him out and tells him we can't be there! Pause....This lady is legitimately insane! Couldn't she have just told us we were no longer allowed to sit there and to pls wait outside? How can you kick people out for not knowing? Then scream at us in front of a crowd of people? What kind of customer service is this?! I can honestly say I have NEVER been treated like this at ANY of the flanigans locations and this is the one I go to most frequently because I live nearby. I will seriously never go back again. I never EVER write bad reviews, but this was just so trashy I was in shock. I literally tried so hard to be nice to this woman and she was hysterical! I wasn't going to write this review because I don't want anyone to get fired, but this was just so unacceptable. I will never return to this location and solely because this woman was so disgusting the way she spoke to us as if we were purposely skipping people and we clearly didn't know you cannot wait at the bar! I would say that this particular Flanigan's gets a 3.5, but since the staff is friendly, I am rounding up. I first attempted dinner here a few weeks ago, but it was packed, so I passed and went to the Surfside location. I was successful in my lunch attempt yesterday. We arrived at 11:30 and it was empty, which also ensures easier parking in their cramped lot. The small size of the restaurant and lot keeps this location from being 5-star We were seated and ordered a pitcher of Joe's Pale Ale (excellent!), which came with free wings. We also ordered a wasabi tuna sandwich and the chipotle salmon sandwich. We waiting a LONG time for the pitcher and wings. The waitress mentioned something about a computer malfunction causing the delay. Honestly - she was more than a little complain-y about it and I don't think that's appropriate. I have enough stress at my own job; I don't need to hear about hers! Regardless, the beer came, Larry S. enjoyed a few wings and then the food arrived. We were brought the tuna entree instead of a sandwich, which was removed and replaced with the correct item with no issues. The food was excellent. We opted for fries as one side (cannot go wrong with fries) and steamed veggies on the other. The veggies were AWESOME! Steamed fresh with a delicate sauce, they rivaled the fries in terms of tempti-ness! The manager Liz stopped by to ask how we were doing, and even let us take the remaining wings home (they typically don't let you do that with the freebies that come with your pitcher). The receipt had a coupon for $8 off Jameson's at the attached liquor store, which we immediately availed ourselves of! We went to Flanagan's tonight for the first time since Covid. There was a 30 min wait & it took the amount of time that they said it would. They were pretty busy. Our server was named Stephanie P. and she did a GREAT job. She was super polite, timely and attentive without being too pushy or overbearing. She was friendly and professional. All good was delivered correctly and she came to check on us several times. The food was delicious too!! We got rib rolls, tumbleweed onions, ribs, fries and coleslaw. It was all super yum!! Flannigan is a memorable sports bar. It offers regular sports bar dishes and cocktails, above average wine selection, numerous flat screen HD TV, a variety of seating, including soon an outdoor deck, but the above average rating comes from the ambience. First, it has a charming old Florida decor, that rustic Keys look of a bar on the wharf. (It is, in fact, next to a marina.) Second, the photos on the walls tell you this is a family oriented place, particularly those who love sea fishing. It gives the restaurant a personal sense of Florida history. Third, the old rock music played adds to that sense of nostalgia and energy. Lastly, the servers were great-prompt, friendly, personable, efficient, and committed to customer satisfaction. Ok, this place doesn't have amazing reviews and I don't understand why? I have never been here and thought I had a bad service or a bad meal. One day they did try to fit 6 member family in a table of 4... but they immediately fixed it. The ribs at this place, yum! You have to have the ribs and that BBQ sauce! Dayum! They run good specials on drinks! The environment is cool/chill and nice. The waitress/waiters are good! Attentive! They have cards on the table to play with the family (believe it's trivial pursuit). The kids get cool little bag, to keep them entertain. After all these years Flanigan's still gets it right. It was my first time at this specific location and it was a great experience. Great meal as usual at Flanigan's but what make this trip special was the attentiveness of our waiter Aseaf. He was great. Also like that both managers were walking around the room checking in on tables to see how everything is. You rarely see that anymore. It felt like the staff actually cares, another rarity in Miami. So, the waiting process is a little clunky and sadly they use Yelp to show where you supposedly are in the queue; however, Yelp doesn't have this working for the restaurant. After waiting for 30 mins in the car while we were told to wait only 20 mins, I finally had to go back to hostess and complain briefly until they sat us. Note: I stopped by the restaurant 15 mins before we arrived to see if there was a wait or if we needed a reservation and they said no wait. How things change in 15 mins...! The kids were happy to receive a packet with tattoos, crossword puzzle, cool to go cups, rather than a standard placemat with crayons. It was Wednesday night and I got the wings and pitcher of beer special...seriously cheap! I don't know how they can make money. The wings were very good (I got hot) and meaty. The kids got wings too as well as some really stretchy mozzarella sticks...these weren't the firm type that Sysco provides to the bowling alleys. Super good as was the marinera. My wife ordered the surf and turf which, I definitely tried. The NY Strip was without much fat and the tender flavorful steak is better than most bars...not quick a Chicago-style chophouse but better than and Outback for sure, and the fried shrimp were clearly battered in-house with pieces of herbs in the batter, throw in the curly fries and the meal was an absolute success. The price point was super affordable for a family of 4 sub-$100 with drinks!!! I mean, I've already texted buddies to get ready for football season with the amount of screens that they have outdoors... other than the necessary precautions, you couldn't really feel much of a COVID interruption. Last but not least, my pitcher of Miller Lite was served cold and poured at the table along with a ice bag floaty for keeping it cool. My wife raced about her Bahama Mama cocktail too. Was taken to the table at 5:02 and were not given menus or attended too until 5:20 , because we pulled a manger to the side even then we ordered and received our appetizers and had to request silverware. It's now 6:07 one hour later still no food, no attention. All partys around us look just as lost and asking for servers. Worst service ever. The service at this one used to be better but has been off since the renovation--I hate the atmosphere in the new room, all high top tables and a bathroom...it just feels cold. Why the single angry star? I ordered take out on 8/31 and just realized as I'm cleaning out my receipts, they charged me $7.38 service charge for take out on a $70 order. Really? My family and I have been customers of Flannigan's for many years. We used to go there about once a month. It is a great place to have good food and watch all kinds of games. However, yesterday was a horrible experience. We are a family of 5. We requested an inside booth like we always do. The host told us we can't put 5 in a booth. I assured him that we always do that. We had a 3 year old and we can easily fit 5 in a booth. I requested a manager. The manager was very rude and he told us we couldn't do it either. He said it was a fire hazard and that they needed wheelchair access. Well the aisles were so small that there is not enough room for a wheelchair in the first place. Then they sat us at a table right next to the restroom. My wife and I were so upset that we left and went to another restaurant and spent as almost $100. We had wonderful service unlike Flannigan's. Unless we receive an apology, we probably won't go back to Flannigan's ever again. We were extremely disappointed and angry with how we were treated. read more

Yup I was right horrible service again. So I literally live a few minutes away so we come every so often. This flanaigans doesn't really have too much parking available, so I parked by the wall of the marina. We were welcomed by the hostess and she tried to seat us on a high top. I asked her if there was any booths available and she said it would be about a 5-10 minutes wait. We said okay not a problem. So after a 8 minute wait we were seated and informed our waiter was gonna be Bruno. Well Bruno didn't stop by for a good 10 minutes and when he did he was in a rush and didn't get my girlfriend appetizer. We got the clam chowder soup which is okay but chewy. We got a pitcher of beer to share which came with a free smoke fish dip, not a fan. For our entree I got the chicken stickers which were delicious, they are tender, juicy and crunchy all at the same time. It's apparently the only thing that home make there. My girlfriend got the lemon chicken pasta with garlic rolls. The garlic rolls are delicious but nothing special that you can't buy at your local super market. The pasta was soggy with the sauce on the side. I remember it being better. Our wait or didn't check on us. Forgot to bring napkins and my sauce for the wings. I've been in Miami for one year now and I heard about this spot from many locals. So this weekend me and my best friend celebrated our new apartment in our new neighborhood. I was truly looking for a new place to depend on after a long day of work but Flannigans was saddenly just not it. As first timers we did not know what to expect but we were hungry and excited to order. When we first walked in their was a huge sign that read PLEASE WAIT TO BE SEATED... So that's what we did. About 10 minutes nobody has approached or assisted us and we noticed a couple that just walked in had approached the bar to write their name on the table list. So than we approached the bar and let them know that we have been waiting for over 10 minutes because of the sign but no one has approached us than the women at the bar wrote our name on the list after the couple. We notified her that we were there before them and we were first timers but she did not do anything about it. Fast forward to 45 minutes later waiting and they are seated and eating before us which was unfair and just unacceptable. To top it off the food was BASIC. I order the sesame glazed salmon and nachos and my best friend ordered the Texas burger. Then nachos were NOT nachos. It had shredded cheese only on top which was very little for a big plate of tortillas chips. I asked my server for more cheese and she said that would be $3.50 to reload my nachos. And I explained how I did not want a new load of nachos just cheese to finish the 3/4 of tortillas chips remaining. She told me I would have to wait to speak to the manager and I did. When the manager arrived she was nice and quickly added more cheese and even added sour cream because she noticed that we liked it as well which was thoughtful.
