It was a Sunday and the oil light had been flashing on my car for days. I needed to get the oil change but didn't have time during the work week. A friend told me there's a place in Fort Lauderdale with Sunday hours. Boom I'm going. I called and they said there was no wait and to get there by 4. We got there 3:00 and there was no one ahead of us. They took my car and I was out of there in less than 30 minutes...very happy with the service and able to sit inside in the a/c...I'm always suspicious of the extras they recommend you get with an oil change. I did get the wiper blades though. The prices are ok and they do have coupons on line. Can't beat the convenience. read more

i go in to see if my one of my wheels has a something on it making lose air, and to see if my oil is still good. my oil was perfect and he told me there was something in my tire. I told him thank you I will deal with it in a week because I am leaving for awhile. he responded saying "next time you come make sure to spend money because my time is not free" sir we all have jobs that pay by hour. he was a gentleman with a beard and barely any hair on his head. This was my third choice on a Saturday when I needed an oil change and my first two options did not appear available. The price was quite steep, despite the air filter change my check engine light came on AFTER I brought my car in, and the first person I talked to acted as if I was a complete moron. I agreed to the full oil flush although the oil that came out of my engine looked pretty clean despite me being over the mileage I was ridiculed for. I won't be back, but the way the cashier treated the regular customers with discounts and remembering personal details about them, I could see why being a regular here would have its advantages. read more

If you value your car please avoid this place at all cost. I chose to look at the reviews and ignore them, but decided to take a chance considering it's down the street and my dealership is a further distance. Literally went there for a simple oil change and tire rotation. Left there with multiple issues and now, have to go to the dealership and get my warranty involved. They took apart my car, trying to get me to buy other parts which I knew wasn't necessary. Didn't even bother to close and lock the parts back property. Left there with my alignment aggressively pulling to the side meanwhile I never had the issue before. I avoid highways and don't drive fast even. The manager tried telling me it's a defect but it's interesting how that problem occurred right after leaving their shop. Their employees are inexperienced, slightly rude, and will dirty and take apart your car without putting it back in its proper place. I feel like my brand new car is now jacked up, all cause i went there for an oil change and rotation!! Definitely letting every person I know to avoid this sketch shop. Alex and his team are wonderful. I go to flash lube for my routine maintenance like oil changes however a few weeks ago I was experiencing a lot of car troubles. I drove it in and they diagnosed it immediately. They called me so I could approve of the repairs before moving forward and they did their best to accommodate me. Brought my cousin here to get his oil changed and car checked as he had just purchased an used car this location was the closest and open in the weekend. When they finished with the oil change the mechanics suggested to get the engine washed and change the spark plugs as they were very worn out, even showed us a picture of the said worn out spark plugs. We decided not to do it there and ordered the spark plugs from Amazon. When we were about to replace them, we realized the picture we were shown didn't match the ones the car had. They spark plugs were in great condition. And the engine didn't need the said wash. I would never recommend this place to anyone, honesty above all. read more

I had an premium oil change done last weekend. The mechanic staff appeared annoyed that they had to do work. In declined an additional service and they seemed disappointed, but I didn't feel the fee offered to flush brake fluid was reasonable ($129.00). When I got into my vehicle I noticed the reminder sticker was not present. I asked for it and the guy was like "oh". I wondered if the service I paid for was even completed.? Lastly the following Friday my car was running hot and this has never occurred before. When I checked my hood after the car was cool, my engine coolant cap was left open. I worked from home all week, and was headed to pick up a friend from the airport and the flight was delayed so I was sitting and waiting longer than I expected. I know this was long but needless to say I Noto not know if it was done on purpose or carelessness. I won't be going back to Flash Lube on 13th in Fort Lauderdale. (Visit of Tues, Aug 26, 3-630pm) We took my daughter's car here for a simple oil change. I arrived a few minutes after she did as we'd planned to leave her car and run some errands nearby. The first sign of something wrong was that the mechanic was probing through other parts of the engine to find things she could have done for more money. All of them were supposedly very urgent and should be done right away. I call this the Spanish Inquisition tactic; present a litany of reasons why you need to convert your 2006 vehicle into a 2014 vehicle right now. The car wasn't giving her any problems at all. It was merely due for an oil change, so we asserted that we had just come for an oil change and that was what we were going to leave with. The oil change was done a few minutes later but the car refused to start. Apparently the starter had died while on the operating table. They tried jumping the car, then striking the starter underneath to get it to unlock or something, but to no avail. I started to film a bit with my cell phone which helped identify the manager; the man tapping the starter to get it to turn over. He went from zero to furious in a few seconds. My filming was "rude" and he slammed one of the doors to the tool cabinet in a rage. This is not the customer service I expected. Instead of assurances, empathy, or any semblance of responsibility and resolution, I was vilified by the manager (note - I won't give his name here in hopes he can improve his customer service without being permanently tagged with his bad behavior that day) The unpleasantries continued as the manager called the owner of the business and talked to him in Spanish within earshot. My daughter and I speak fluent Spanish (pero tenemos caras de gringo) and followed the conversation in detail. A big mistake the manager made in talking to his boss is that he painted us as knowing beforehand there was a problem with the car. "The daughter brought in the car and the Dad shows up a few minutes later with a bad attitude. That's a little strange." A key role of managers is to give good information to their bosses so that bosses can make the best decision possible. Instead, the owner heard a different story, that we were being a little shady. The manager's only olive branch to defuse our frustration was a 10% discount if we had them replace the starter. We had it towed to another shop that was $50 cheaper than their discounted quote. He dismissed our ire over the starter dying in their hands by saying "that happens like once a week". Really? We gave this business plenty of opportunities to repair our relationship. I even waited to post my review to make sure the issue was the starter and the starter alone. It was. Also, those other Spanish Inquisition concerns were apparently hyped. In more than 120 reviews, this is only my second single star review yet I don't know how I could classify this business any other way. If you drive your car here, and it dies on the operating table, you've apparently won the weekly lotto of bad luck. Don't complain to the manager. He'll just blame you for being a jerk. This place I've gotten several oil Changes. I go on Monday mornings and get in and get out. They always have coupons on their website and haven't had a problem using it for my oil change. The shop is clean and organized. The oil change includes a vacuum and they check other things. Their prices compete with other local shops. Never have I had an issue. Never a problem with the service. They are always upfront and don't hassle if I elect to not service additional components while I am there. This is why I will continue to service my vehicle there. They are always steady with very high end vehicles when I pass by and if you have a problem with price or anything else, it's probably you and not the shop ;) read more

I came in for a simple oil change. The fellas were quick and nice. They showed me two dirty filters that needed to be changed. It wouldn't be a typical auto stop for a woman if they didn't try to upsell me on something I didn't need though. I have a 4 year old car that didn't need an engine flush. Hadn't even heard that term until the visit. I called my dad and he said that service was for old cars and was a waste of money. I declined the engine flush, but did everything else they suggested. I would recommend this place. They offer bottled water while you wait to keep you hydrated. Service is efficient and the staff is fantastic. Even got the $5 discount for checking in with Yelp. The worst place to get an oil change. They are thieves. Not for just ripping you off with oil an oil change literally thieves are working there. First they tried to charge us for a new oil filter and it was going to cost more because of the filter which was fine. But they were never going to change the filter if my husband wasn't Watching them. They put the oil filter I already had back in and was going to charge us. Once they did actually change it. When it was time to check out they charge you an additional 8.99 to remove the oil plate. Which is them uncovering where the oil filter belongs. It is already on your car they charge you for that. Than to top it off I reach home and my ear buds came up on my phone as missing. Looked inside the case both were gone. They were there before we had the oil change. Couldn't go back up there because the place was closed. If you like having your things stolen out of your car and spending excess money for them not do what they are supposed to do go. read more

I brought my truck in on the advice of a friend and my fellow yelpers, should have gone with my gut and gone to the dealer. THIS PLACE ALMOST COST ME AN ENTIRE ENGINE!! The long and the short: The most expensive oil change I've ever had. I was assured by the owner that I was in good hands and they only use premium stuff. I feel as used and lied to as the majority of women in my life... (Guy Humor) Short service. I expected a little more for my money, no checklist, no inspection that I saw, no service recommendations. Imprinted the $10 off coupon and it ended up being exactly half the price on BMW and took about 30 minutes at the most. Woke up Sunday morning having a great day. I decided to go and get a oil change.. I found this place on yelp. I walk in paying $107 for a oil change and changed filter. Not including the $20 tip that I left. I received my car back to see that both my belts were ripped and leaking fluid. I called flash lube to tell them about what was going and to speak to a manager. "Dean" the manager got on the phone to basically say it's not his responsibility. I would never come back to this place or recommend this place to anyone. Was in for oil change for my vehicle and inquired which synthetic oils they used. I was given a choice and selected Mobil 1 which was recommended by my car manufacturer. When I looked at the service being done, Mobil Super was substituted and I inquired and was told it was the same as Mobil 1. Since the oil was already half way in the engine, I did not argue, but will have to have it changed out as soon as possible obviously. Interestingly enough, my bill stated Mobil 1 was used which was blatantly false. Glad I documented it. Also tried to up sell an oil flushing and new spark plugs. Moral: Be careful what you asked for and document, document, document. Pros: The tire pressures were checked, and windshield washer fluids topped off. Service was fast. read more

As stated here repeatedly, avoid this business at all costs! I had visited previously for a simple oil change and filter because my ethical local go-to business for that service - Hamill Tire - was backed up because the community knows and respects that shop. On the earlier visit, the mechanic tried to tell me that all my belts needed replacing. I refused. On this visit, I was headed for a day trip and the Flash Lube rep told me my serpentine belt was extremely worn and if it broke on the road trip, I would be stranded and have to be towed. ('Scare tactics!') He said, "If you're okay with being towed, then don't change it." I said, Let me see it. He pointed to a barely visible discoloration - no breaks or raised ridges or anything - and said that meant it was "dangerous." I felt responsible for the people travelling with me and against my intuition on overdrive, I agreed. However, I insisted that he give the belt he removed. I went to another reputable business in our community - Black Horse on Commercial - and the owner examined the belt and said it was in excellent condition. In fact, the belt Flash Lube removed was the highest grade and that it could be put on again when the one they replaced it with wore out. It's appalling that this struggling new neighborhood with all its hopes and dreams invested in the success of their individual businesses have to be stained by this unethical shop and its representatives. If you read the responses of this 'Marissa V. person", whom is obviously not a mechanic and doesn't operate from that informed perspective but simply a defensive position, never does the management try to reconcile their practices nor offer a solution when they alienate another member of the local community. Remember management: Every day is a new day. You can start to rebuild your reputation. The ethical business responds this way: "We regret the experience you had at our company. How can we make this right?" Then they offer a credit in the shop. They don't have to publicly admit they were wrong. They know exactly how representatives of this speedy service shop are advised to increase the franchise's profit margin by 'suggesting' unnecessary additional high-profit work - filters, belts, etc. That won't happen. When another Yelp consumer claims they showed him a false image of worn out spark plugs, believe it! Protect yourself and your loved ones. Avoid Flash Lube. read more
