As stated here repeatedly, avoid this business at all costs! I had visited previously for a simple oil change and filter because my ethical local go-to business for that service - Hamill Tire - was backed up because the community knows and respects that shop. On the earlier visit, the mechanic tried to tell me that all my belts needed replacing. I refused. On this visit, I was headed for a day trip and the Flash Lube rep told me my serpentine belt was extremely worn and if it broke on the road trip, I would be stranded and have to be towed. ('Scare tactics!') He said, "If you're okay with being towed, then don't change it." I said, Let me see it. He pointed to a barely visible discoloration - no breaks or raised ridges or anything - and said that meant it was "dangerous." I felt responsible for the people travelling with me and against my intuition on overdrive, I agreed. However, I insisted that he give the belt he removed. I went to another reputable business in our community - Black Horse on Commercial - and the owner examined the belt and said it was in excellent condition. In fact, the belt Flash Lube removed was the highest grade and that it could be put on again when the one they replaced it with wore out. It's appalling that this struggling new neighborhood with all its hopes and dreams invested in the success of their individual businesses have to be stained by this unethical shop and its representatives. If you read the responses of this 'Marissa V. person", whom is obviously not a mechanic and doesn't operate from that informed perspective but simply a defensive position, never does the management try to reconcile their practices nor offer a solution when they alienate another member of the local community. Remember management: Every day is a new day. You can start to rebuild your reputation. The ethical business responds this way: "We regret the experience you had at our company. How can we make this right?" Then they offer a credit in the shop. They don't have to publicly admit they were wrong. They know exactly how representatives of this speedy service shop are advised to increase the franchise's profit margin by 'suggesting' unnecessary additional high-profit work - filters, belts, etc. That won't happen. When another Yelp consumer claims they showed him a false image of worn out spark plugs, believe it! Protect yourself and your loved ones. Avoid Flash Lube. read more

This place is a ripoff! I had one issue with my car and they found about 2 GRAND worth of issues wrong with it. I didn't have my car the entire weekend! What a joke! Then, exactly 10 days alter, i then went in because my AC wasnt working properly and this sly latino named Ricardo (yea, big surprise there), belittled and talked to me in a way that took all my strength to contain myself from blowing up on him like the Dianetics volcano. I proceeded to show this human my 2 GRAND receipt, clearly listing my AC unit as one of the conveniently found issues when all i wanted was an oil change and my brakes checked my first time around. It replied with the following, and i DO quote: "Think of it like a Dr. You have a broken arm, but you also have a liver issue. You only tell the Dr. about the broken arm and neglect to tell him about the liver issues, so the Dr only fixes the broken arm" Hey buddy, i didn't ask to be belittled. I also showed you my receipt.....If i or anybody for that matter, takes their vehicle to a auto shop, its....well.....forgive me for sounding crazy....it to GET THEIR VEHICLE FIXED!!! Not to have SOME things fixed and you pay for what was fixed, only to conveniently 10 days later have MORE s*** wrong with it. When i take my car to a shop, i expect that if i drop 2 GRAND (plus 400 extra for the 10 days later issue) for a grand total of 2500 bucks over a course of exactly 10 DAYS people. When i drop THAT amount of cash, i expect my car to be fixed. Not fixed for 10 days, not fixed for 5 months, not fixed for 10 months. I expect it to be FIXED. My advice to you, STAY AWAY and go the auto shop on the cross street of Dixie and Oakland. UPDATE: I took my car to the guy on the cross street of Dixie & Oakland, and he informed me that this place didn't write codes on my invoices, which apparently they must do, (2 doesn't cut it flash). I had no idea about codes since I know nothing about cars at all. He further informed me that the people at this place broke a nipple off of something in my car and didn't bother to replace it. The job, I was told upon a inspection by him was not done all that well. They did, all in all 1600/2000 worth of service, He also mentioned that the check engine light is on for a reason and that the comment by the people at flashlube told me "oh don't worry about it" was asinine to be told to me. Flat out: I was lied to, and worst of all, i was scammed. Scammed out of 2500 dollars in 10 days. From a car that was NOT overheating and got charged 400 bucks for to fix, to them putting high performance brakes on my car when a 2005 hyundai isn't capable of supporting them (regardless if the previous owner had them on and they followed suit, they should of KNOWN a car of that make, model and year cannot support high performance breaks) to them doing one thing and charging me for multiple others, to another 2 grands worth of additional issues that this guy is fixing that were done by flashlube. Come on guys.... This guy is fixing multiple issues and problems with my car by this flash place, and buying a new part for another part they broke off since it doesn't break by itself for a shade above 600 bucks. I agree with the other people who gave this place such low ratings. UPDATE II: Following upon my recent update, I took the pictures from the good mechanic who noticed flash did not do everything they said they did, and showed them to the manager. He put my car up on the platform and took off the rubber top for the top of the strut or mount or whatever and kept saying "look at how lean it is, look at how clean it is". So i told him "this was NOT included in the pictures, so why are you mentioning this"? It was a diversion tactic. He knew what he was trying to do. Why are you showing me something that obviously is clean (since it was covered) when the things YOUR staff did NOT do, and you admitted to it, were above my tire under the car??? The hood was up and again on the raisable platform. Not sure why but whatever......In the end, they offered to do the things they were paid to do in the first place I refused. Hell no! Don't think so flash! instead i asked for a refund for the services they didnt do by half INCLUDING THE 6% SALES TAX AND LABOR. I got laughed at by the manager when i brought up the inclusion for the refund on the sales tax and labor i paid for. Hey buddy, we live in america. We pay taxes. South Florida isn't mexico where taxes are not included and there are no laws and rules......You'll see the photos that prove they didn't do what they were paid to do. However, the ownership contacted me directly, went over my history of services and directly addressed my issue and resolved the situation to ensure it never happens again. I am very impressed with the level of dedication and care the owners take in their business. They have won me back as a customer because they are so intent on providing quality service. They also took serious measures to ensure there will never be a repeat of the unfortunate incident for myself or anyone else. It's rare to see this nowadays. I've been going to this place with my vehicles for the past 4 years. First with my Mazda, and now with my Acura. I've never had a complaint about this place until now. On June 29th I came for an ordinary oil change and the technician does his schtick on what should get fixed. Normal stuff, I opted to get the oil system drained and cleaned so that ran my bill up to $176. When it was time to pay I gave him my credit card. He runs it and comes back and tells me my cards no good, do I have another form of payment. I tell him that's impossible I checked my account before I came here. He runs it again and tells me I only have 66 dollars credit and I would have to pay 110 out of pocket. I said ok, paid and went on my way. I looked into the matter and it turns out I was right. The dude charged me twice basically. I'm not even pissed about the technical mistake, it's just the fact that if I didn't pay the remaining $110. They probably wouldn't have given me back my vehicle when it was a mistake on their end. Needless to say I won't come back here again. I would give them 0 stars, but I won't fault them for years of good service until now. Watch out people! read more

I'm not sure how I feel about this place just yet. The service from the guys is great. Real friendly, effective communication and quick service. Here's what I'm not sure about... I feel like I'm getting ripped off and the service isn't consistent. By that I mean, first time I came here I think I spent $50 or $60 on an oil change. Second time around I find myself dropping $200 for an oil change and a change of spark plugs. First time around they vacuumed my car for me as a part of the service and this time they didn't which I'm kind of annoyed about because now I have to go take it somewhere. Apparently, the staff here didn't like the way I looked or something because I did not get any of the treatment that others are raving about. I went there for the first time and will not return. I did not get the complementary vacuuming or window washing. The workers who were not working on my car kept staring at me and making me very uncomfortable. Flash Lube has been my go-to shop for oil changes and most service calls, including flats, etc, for at least the last five years and two cars. Friendly, helpful staff. They will point out and suggest repairs/items that need attention but are never pushy. Consistently good service and attitude and would recommend any time with no hesitation. Quick and honest service. I just bought a van for work and it felt like the transmission was slipping. I went in for an oil change, but said I was interested in the transmission service (cost is $100). I asked for their opinion on it and they told me my fluid was clean and the service was not needed/would not help the issue. I appreciated their honesty. Stay far, far away from this place! Based on Yelp recommendation, I went there for a simple oil change, and was told I needed an "Engine flush" as the oil in my car was dirty. The "Engine flush" turned out to be them placing some highly toxic liquid in my engine and then changing the oil. The kicker is that after I left, I ran a search on "Engine flush" and found that my car manufacturer recommends against it and most manufacturers recommend against it. Do a search for yourself on engine flush, nothing but bad news. There was no reason for this, other than them charging me $70 for some product that probably has damaged my engine. Shortly after pulling my car in, they came out and said, "Sir, your car has a special filter so it's going to be $75 for the oil change." Brought in a Lexus IS350C for a simple oil change. The guy got in my car and asked if it was OK that it got synthetic; I said yes. They advertised a 10 minute oil change which is the only reason I went there. Not only did I leave with a ridiculous cost of close to a bill ......FOR AN OIL CHANGE!!! When my car was finished, 25 minutes later, the lady that ran the cash register had disappeared!!!!.....I kid you not! I sat there for a solid 20 minutes before anyone came and took my money. Then I asked for an itemized statement...the lady looked surprised and had to walk into another room to get the receipt!!...Weird....On the receipt I have 3 different charges. I was charged for the Synthetic oil change, 1 filter and 6 qts of oil....WTH! I thought the oil and the filter came with the cost of the synthetic oil change. Lastly, I had a coupon for $10 off....she gave me $6 off...I didn't hang around to hear the excuse. I was far past the time I had allotted for this venture.
