Tried them out for lunch. Spot is cute with limited seating. Love the artwork. I got the spicy single patty burger and fries. About $13. Took less than 10 minutes to receive my order. Simple burger and fries. Not sure what it was but something was missing to me. I may try them again for the spicy loaded fries.

I switched up my walking route today and was rewarded by the open doors (and window) of Flat Out Burger. So as any normal person would do, I shuffled my lunch plans, walked in, and ordered a burger! I was welcomed in by Anthony, who informed me that they've been open for about a week. He gave me the run down about the menu (the veggie burger is Beyond Meat) and plans for future items (like a turkey burger). On a first try I'd usually get a regular burger, but in keeping with the spirit of the day I switched up and ordered a single Spicy patty to go and a Mexican Sprite. The Spicy burger comes with their house spicy sauce, sliced jalapenos, onion, and no pickles. I believe the bun was potato bread. I really enjoyed the crunch of the jalapenos. They were definitely fresh and not soggy or spooned out of a jar. The spice level was pleasant but not overwhelming. The onion also wasn't overpowering. And for $8, I'm definitely happy with my choice. Flat Out Burger is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. Very often the desire for a regular burger strikes and there's no dedicated burger joint to serve that purpose. The location is solid and I think they'll do well here.

This hidden is by far one of the best newcomers in Smashburger in New York City. Don't pass this one up. Be sure to try the classic spicy.

What does the sauce taste like? Am dying to know if it taste like In-N-Out spread?

Our Flat Out Sauce has that perfect balance of creamy, tangy, and slightly smoky the kind of flavor that pulls the burger together. Think of it in the same ballpark as In-N-Out's spread, but with our own twist! It's richer, a touch more heat, on our…

We were thrilled to find two seats at the end of the bar when we arrived. As luck would have it, the two gentlemen next to us eventually left, allowing us to slide over and enjoy an even better view of the TV for the rest of the game. I started with a Tito's and club soda, but unfortunately, something seemed off--perhaps the club soda was flat. The drink just wasn't good. To their credit, the bartender took it back without hesitation and was very accommodating. I then ordered a Negroni after the woman sitting next to us highly recommended it. I don't usually drink gin, but this cocktail was absolutely delicious and changed my mind. Since we were there for several hours, we shared an order of zucchini and eggplant chips and happily snacked on them throughout the game. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, with a nice mix of ages and people enjoying the evening. We made sure to leave our bartender a generous tip since we occupied our seats for the entire game. Even though the Knicks didn't pull out a win that night, we certainly didn't leave defeated. I'd happily return for another game, cocktail, and fun evening out. And maybe even get dinner there. Little did I know there was another big room in the ack once you past the restrooms. They were having a thriving business there!

He was constantly busy zippin around but maintained a nice demeanor and made everyone feel welcome! Must orders of mine: the burger! Although small, it comes out piping hot and the fresh white onion between the bottom bun and burger is awesome because it doesn't make the bottom bun soggy and catches all the juices from the actual meat. Love subbing the fries for a Caesar salad! Standout appetizer is the fried zucchini and eggplant with tzatziki-- crispy, hot, juicy and I get it every time!

It featured a crispy, sugar-glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior, topped with truffle cheese and served with a truffle butter dip; the pairing was superb, and it tasted great both on its own and with the dip. For the main course, I ordered the miso-glazed black cod. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). The highlight was the complimentary sorbet they brought out for my friend's birthday. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, old-school jazz, and a cozy atmosphere (7/10).
