The front office staff is rude and uncaring. I would NEVER treat anyone this way. If you're more than 5 minutes late, they won't see you. The front of office does not warn you. They don't answer the phones. It takes weeks to get seen. Wendy is a nice doctor though so that's the only reason I gave them two stars. read more

Here I am DAY 100. Went to Flatirons in January for a SIMPLE biopsy. Less than a week after my procedure, I called the office and told them this thing in infected. They said come in. They looked at it, put a clean bandage on it and send me home. The next week. I called and said THIS THING IS HOT and draining. They asked me to send them a PICTURE. REALLY A PICTURE.. Finally almost a MONTH later they finally get me an appointment with the wound care clinic, and this is because I am on the phone EVERY day. Now this hole in my leg is 4"x5" because the staff could NOT be bothered to expedite the paper work. There seems to be an awful lot of miscommunication in this office and I will NEVER set foot in Flatirons again. I had to wait three months to get an appointment in here. I have been a patient for years. My appointment was coming up in February and I got a call yesterday and they cannot get me in until March 31. I have a couple problem areas on my back that I wish to have treated and that made no difference to them. I told them that that was unacceptable to wait that long and I would probably be finding a new dermatologist. The front desk Female said have a merry Christmas and quickly hung up on me! I was about to say something else and I didn't even get a chance. After looking at all the other reviews I see that I am not the only one that has been treated rudely and condescendingly. Do not go to this office? I'm surprised there was actually any good reviews here. The staff must've been in a decent mood that day and the doctor wasn't hiding around the corner. I love this place! They are very accommodating with scheduling, and they truly have your health and goals at the front of their care. Lauren, the medical aesthetician, is wonderful. She explains the steps and the products as she applies them. She listens to you, and personalizes your care to fit your needs. I will preface this by saying that both my son and I had two separate appointments on the same day and that his visit was fine. Mine, however, was not. I was late for my appointment by five minutes and when I was walking in, Dr. Smith was walking out because he didn't feel well. He said please go on in and someone else will see you. I walked into the office and "bun boy" asked me to step back into the waiting room. First sigh. I stayed out there for five minutes and then he came out to take my temperate. He was sitting and put the thermometer up and looked at me to lean down towards him. Then he wrote down information, asked me to sign the paperwork, left me and walked into the office without saying anything to me. Second sigh. I then went in the office and no one was at the front desk, so I waited and then he came back out and asked me for the paperwork, which he left out in the room and asked me to go get it for him. Third sigh. I then went back in and he told me that I needed to wait because I was late. I then said "you have got to be kidding me....after all I just went through?" Fourth heavy sigh. I explained to him that my son who was on time needed me to grab the dog and that I had called the front office and told them that I was running late and the lady was incredibly kind and sweet and told me not to worry about it. I sat back down in the lobby and then someone else came in and he made them go back out to the front hallway. Talk about rudeness. Like lock the door folks - don't tell us to go back outside. We are your clients. Learn respect and just basic decency and manners, and that's directed to you bun boy!!! I finally made it to the back room and by the time I got there, they could see that I was upset. I haven't been back since because it left such a bitter taste in my mouth. read more

Horrible service and numerous wasted visits with inability to diagnose a skin rash. The office notes did not match what was said during the office visits. Very vague conclusions of what could be causing the rash and when told to call back for a prescription they had no record of previous diagnosis. I would not waste your time! read more

I initially wrote the below review, but within a couple of hours Dr. Smith was very concerned that I was treated in that matter and got me in right away. Great customer service and understand this is going to be addressed with the office staff. Needless to say, we've all had bad days and should be forgiven for oversights. I will be back. I've been a patient at Flatiron Dermatology for over ten years. This is the first time they gave me an appointment time incorrectly and then made me feel as though the mistake was all me. I came here on my own due to an infection I had of my eczema. I had to bring my two youngsters one time for the follow up and they were able to busy themselves with a couple books and complimentary snacks! I saw Megan Townsend twice, and felt completely comfortable with her. She expressed genuine concern for my infection and prescribed a good regiment to try. read more

I was referred to Flatirons Dermatology for a spot on my face to get an evaluation/consult. Upon arrival, I completed the new patient paperwork and then waited, and waited and waited. Now 45 plus minutes after my appointment time I was taken in the back, asked basically the same information I just completed and she left and I waited more, I'm an hour into this now. Finally the Dr walks in (Smith I believe) with two other people, along with a syringe & other surgical items, takes a quick look (maybe 45 - 60 seconds) and proceeds to tell me he's going to give me local, scrape the spot & then I need to come back for the MOHS procedure that could involve between 1/2 day to all day treatment by making several incisions. Excuse me, but I've never been to this practice before, never seen this Dr before...I came in for an evaluation/consult! They were way to eager by bringing in the syringe and other surgical items into the exam room prior to even seeing me. He was very pushy and really seemed to take offense that I declined his procedure. Hello...I came in for an evaluation/consult and not a rushed one at that. I've been to this practice 3 times. The first time I showed up 20 minutes early and wait for 30 minutes AFTER my appointment time to see the doctor. I was scheduled for another appointment and messed up by showing up 15 minutes late. The doctor cancelled my appointment! I was rescheduled for the next week. I showed up 20 minutes early again and waited until 10 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I finally decided that I no longer had confidence in this practice! So......If you don't mind sitting in the waiting room and then continuing your wait in the exam room, then this practice is going to be perfect for you! If you expect to be seen at your appointed time, GOOD LUCK! Their time is important, yours is not! read more

I've been going to Flatirons Dermatology for about 3 years now (primarily due to my Rosacea and occasionally dermatitis) and I have received nothing but exemplary care and advice from Dr. Smith. He does not rush through the visit and also takes the time to explain the medication he is prescribing and the possible side effects (and how to deal with them). His staff is very courteous and they get to know you by name pretty quickly. For me, Flatirons Dermatology is one of the best medical clinics that I've been to ever. read more

After receiving a severe staph infection with very swollen lymph nodes from a medication that they have prescribed they cancelled my appointment without notifying me the blonde lady that works the front desk likes to make fun of the patients she tells me they called you on the 9th but your voice mailbox was full so they went ahead and canceled the appointment they never tried calling a second time or calling later in the evening I am very sick from medications they are prescribed and they cancel an appointment without contacting me they only called one of the three numbers that I provided for my contact list and they have left me without a doctor and without treatment while very very ill I have been a patient for 5 years if it were possible I would give them a negative 5 stars read more

On my first visit, I waited over an hour just to see the PA. How is this ok? Treating my customers that way at my company wouldn't fly. Why is this SOP at dr offices? If you know you're running behind, do the patient the courtesy of calling and telling them to delay their arrival so they're not wasting their time waiting for over an hour for an appointment that should have taken 15 minutes. Still going to Dr. Smith. Love his anti-aging ideas. Trendy, state of the art. He has a new fat-reducing treatment that gets at those trouble spots. It works and it is easy. He also believes that you can age gracefully without surgery using state of the art laser treatments and fillers. Doc has a good bed side manner and tries the procedures on himself and his wife, a GP, before testing them on you. Kids and teens relate to him and think he is funny. Now that his practice is expanding, plan accordingly to get an appt. read more

Absolutely the most unprofessional Doctor I have ever been to!! The first visit I had some skin tags removed. The Doctor did a bad job and did not get the whole area. I scheduled an appointment to have some moles removed for a follow-up visit. Arrived and waited over an hour. The receptionist finally came in apologized and said I would have to re-schedule. I had to wait 2 more weeks to get back in. AGAIN! I waited almost an hour in a paper gown and NO one checked on me. Went and demanded my $50 co-pay back and was told I would have to wait for a check-in-the mail. When asked that they put that in writing, they handed me over a check. My Doctor, Christopher Smith came out of a room and actually HID from me not even offering an apology !!! Never again. Wish I would have seen this first negative rating prior to chosing this dermatologist. Don't waste your time!!! read more
