In the days after our wedding, our guests were raving about our DJ. A handful of our friends are DJs themselves. From our first correspondence, he was so professional and accommodating. We knew we could trust him with all the intricate details of our wedding day. He spent a lot of time with us so he could understand our vision and expectations for the day which was no small task! Our wedding day brought together a midwestern, Black American family and an Italian American family from New Jersey. Love disco and pop music, My husband loves hip hop. The majority of our guests are millennials but our oldest guests were in their 80's and the youngest was 6 months old. Everyone heard a song they knew and loved and everyone was dancing. Additionally, our timeline got off the rails (as they tend to do at weddings) and Kenny handled it all perfectly. Even as the bride and groom, we didn't fully know what issues occurred until after the wedding day. The vodka sauce in particular was the perfect balance of creamy and cheesy. The chicken parm was juicy and flavorful. The service was fast and the servers constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was good and to see if we needed anything. Overall, I highly recommend. It's a gorgeous, clean place that's perfect to have large gatherings at.

Small purses are allowed which security throughly searched through. Coat check is also available, but luckily we didn't need it. My group and I decided to station ourselves on the balcony area where there was plenty of room to dance. Bathrooms are also located on this floor. I love how the venue also had a 3rd floor lounge area with a bar which that had access to an outdoor section to smoke. There was even a tv where you can see the stage. There were plenty of bars throughout the venue so you never really had to wait on line. Best part of Melrose Ballroom was the sound system. I was pretty impressed that it was very well done and my ears didn't feel like they were bleeding by the end of the night.

On email correspondences, it was stated that the concert would begin at 6 PM and end at 10 PM. The venue did not start letting people in until 7 PM, and the concert did not begin until 8 PM. The concert room was a little humid/muggy for a good portion of the performance, and it was not until halfway through the show that the air-conditioning was turned on. Drinks were quite pricey, approximately $60 before tip for two vodka Red Bulls and one gin and tonic. However, this is to be expected of a New York venue. The drinks were tasty! Aside from the VIP section upstairs, there are absolutely no seats here, not even by the bar. Although this is a nightclub style venue, I believe there should be at least a handful of seats in the event someone is not feeling well or can't stand that long. I brought my parents to the charity concert and had to find makeshift seats for them on stools that I found in the basement. There is street parking all around and we found a spot on the street right around the corner from the ballroom. The performance itself was spectacular and high energy! I loved the decor via digital designs on the screen behind the performer, as well on the screens above the bars on each side of the room.

During the wedding, Brian helped to guide me and my husband through the events at the reception. Also, he incorporated some fun games (scavenger hunt musical chairs) at the reception, which the guests absolutely loved and I am still always hearing about.
