Was recommended to try this place by another restaurant owner who said he'd been here several times and that it was fantastic. We were soooo disappointed. Everything we ordered was awful. The broccoli was so over cooked you couldn't even pick it up with a fork. It was mush and you needed a spoon to scoop it. The steak was tough and not a very good cut. The boil bag was overly drenched in butter (and I like butter). Everything was just subpar quality and really over cooked. We won't be back. read more

My classmates and cousins had lunch at Flavor Shack in Olive Branch,MS. I had the 2 piece Fish dinner and could not eat it all ! Other than our table there was only 1 other table in there. I noticed most people that came in were doing pickup orders. The young lady that was the only employee out front was kind but they were out of almost everything we asked about. Eventually we just settled for po'boys but the girl didn't put the right one in; we ordered an oyster & shrimp but got an oyster & catfish but we had already waited about 30 minutes so we weren't going to cause a fuss. Were never checked on once we got our food. The employee was on her phone literally the entire time and even when customers would come in she would say "Welcome to Flava Shack" while still looking at her phone. I even had to holler from across the room for our check because she was so engrossed in her phone. Also, they really should have it posted that an automatic 18% gratuity is added to Dine-In checks because frankly even though the food was wrong it was still decent but her service was extremely poor. I am only giving 4 star because the food left us speechless and our waitress was awesome. It's takes more than just good food for a business to make it in this area. Some of the things going on around us as we were eating by other employees may be the reason that they will not survive in Olive Branch. I can totally see the lack of customer service and professionalism that were complained upon in other reviews. It's impressive when management comes out to speak to customers or jump in to help their team. Well, this manager walked around with her cell phone in one hand and money in the other. Anyway, I ordered the salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes and the hubs ordered the sampler with catfish, shrimp, lobster tail, fries, and hush puppies - appetizer crawfish dip. There was nothing negative either of us could say about the food we were both in awe at how delicious it was. I was very pleased with the choice of background music as well and it wasn't too loud. We will definitely give it another try but I hope and pray that this black owned business survive. Dear Flava Shack owner(s) you are going to have to get rid of the dead weight, unprofessionalism, beef up the customer service and management is going to have to role up their sleeves and lead by example. Food was just ok. My catfish had a few bones. Wouldn't be good for kids to eat. Took my time to look at each piece. The two women beside use had no manners at all. Talked there speaker phone while they were eating.I gave them the look. They didn't care! And the staff kept coming by and talking to them. I purposely support Black owned businesses. This was my first time here. We stood by the podium that says "wait to be seated" for a few minutes longer than we should have. There were two employees that saw us but did not immediately greet us even we entered the restaurant. The food was good, service needs improvement. Please ensure that ALL of your customers are treated nicely, not just the non-minorities. First & more likely last visit. Spent $70 on food and had a to wait 20 minutes in line to get my food while it got cold sitting on the counter behind the cashier. She was busy taking orders on the phone and could have use some help. Managers or owners didn't greet people standing in line nor pitched in to help get orders out. They only counted their bank in the middle of a busy shift. There should be a second line for pick up orders. If the owner had assisted in helping and at least spoke to people who were standing in line who are spending or spent money with your establishment things would have went a little smoother & I wouldn't complain as much. I won't be visiting again. My friend recommended this place before actually visiting herself now she's not interested. 2 seafood lover customers this establishment could have gained but lost. While only open for a little over 4 months, and we found it by accident, this has fast become our favorite place. Been twice with my husband and we went again last night with 6 friends. I have had the Kracken Quesadilla as a meal twice and the Seafood Pasta, both I would have again. Food was awesome and staff was just as great. We came last Friday night with a party of 8 and they easily accommodated us. Some in our party had been previously and they remembered them and what they ordered as well! I had the seafood Louie salad and was the best salad I have had. My family and I went here Friday night it took a while for us to get seating and then waited for the hostess to clean off the table. Once we got seated I asked about the different types of beer since the hostess asked what we wanted to drink. It took her 10 minutes to get back to me and let me know the different types of beer. Once we got past that point we ordered our appetizer crawfish dip with pita chips. The flavor of the dip was good however I was not able to taste or chew any crawfish so I would say they need to add more crawfish. The three of us ordered the King Sampler that consisted of 5 fried shirimp, 3 catfish strips (fried), fried lobster tail with two sides. Our sides consisted of loaded baked potato, hush puppies, and Mac and cheese hands down the food.....GOOD!!!! The 4 stars is because the service could be improved but our orders did not take too long but a lot of the staff are walking around lackadaisical. read more
