After a fun game of mini golf, my friend and I decided to try Brain Food. When we arrived at the place, we thought the GPS had taken us to the wrong spot because there was no sign to tell us this was Brain Food. At first, I went to the wrong building, and the laddies directed me to the building next door. When we got to the right building, we ordered our food and waited in the car for it to get ready. We waited 50 minutes for the food to be prepared. I ordered the Cajun Alfredo Fries with Salmon and a Pineapple Lemonade. My friend did the Build Your Own Pasta; she added chicken, extra cheese, and spinach. She also ordered the Strawberry Lemonade. If the fries were by themselves, it would have been just ok, but the Salmon and the Cajun Alfredo Sauce really helped it out. The Pineapple Lemonade was really amazing. I tasted a little bit of my friend's pasta. The pasta wasn't that warm, and the spinach on it tasted weird. So if anyone plans on coming here, I recommend ordering ahead so the wait won't be long. read more

It takes a while to bring your food, because the parking lot is completely full of customers who come back for this deliciousness. The menu has amazing options. I've been eager to try this place out because, the food looks delicious. I ordered the alfredo pasta bowl($12), I added shrimp($7) for 4 shrimps and I added salmon($6). I also added Cajun Alfred sauce ($2.50). The pasta was good but, it was lacking cajun seasoning and alfredo sauce. I was expecting it to be spicy but, it wasn't. I placed an online order @ 12:02pm and I didn't receive my food until 20 minutes after it said it was ready for pickup @ 12:25pm but, it was ready at 12:40pm. For almost $30 you'd think it comes with bread and/or a drink but, everything is ala carte. Also, with the amount of oil that was in the bottom of the bowl the pasta isn't cooked fresh. The customer service was fantastic. The food tasted fresh, seasoned really well, and was neatly placed inside the To- Go boxes. They told me they stopped taking orders at 7:00 pm(although they close at 8pm) when the time was still 6:30 ~ish. The younger guy bringing me food had smart remarks, and the taller gentleman with short hair and a gap was sarcastic while watching me order. After all the rudeness the guy looked at my screen and when he saw my total was $73 he was quick to put my order in. I didn't get my food until an hour later. The wait for food is absolutely ridiculous. The customer service could be a whole lot better. If your establishment close at 8, Im expecting to be able to order at 7. I ordered the salmon pasta. I don't like that there was more oil than Alfredo in the bowl. I would also like to add that the "extra large" pasta bowl is not as big as you would think for that much of an up charge. Honestly, hands down the best food in Memphis...probably the best food I've eaten in a while. Don't let the location fool or scare you because the quality is top notch. I wish I could take Brain Food back home. My friends and I have griped how the pandemic resulted in lower quality food and poor customer service but this is not the case here. I wish I had pictures to share but as soon as our food arrived at our car we all dug in devoured the food. Best catfish, amazing Alfredo sauce ( not too thick or bland), the lamb is well seasoned, and the shrimp is well breaded and plump. This isn't fast food, chain restaurant food, or overpriced Bougie food that still leaves you hungry and thinking of probably driving by Taco Bell or MCD's to feel full/ less hungry. Ok, I'll keep it short. This place will have you waiting over an hour for your food just for you to finally get it and it not be properly prepared (French fries undercooked) . This is the second time in a row I've ordered this over priced food and the quality has yet to match advertisement. It's obvious that the staff is not fit or capable of keeping up with a high volume of orders because I do not exaggerate when I say, you will be waiting at least 45min-1hour no matter what time you place your order, the pick up times do not match the actual. IF YOU KNOW YOU KNOW and while I am not here to try to tear down a business, I must be honest, the professionalism ratio to business volume ratio is not there. You would think they would have someone updating customers on order status but, it's basically just a waiting game.
