PRO TIP for this location: Don't place an order online, then show up at the estimated time to pick it up - it won't be ready. In fact, it's not until you arrive and pay that your order gets puts in to the kitchen, so prepare for another 15-minute wait onsite. Staff says they've had issues with unpaid online orders not being picked up. That said, I don't recall seeing an online payment option, so maybe that could clear things up. read more

Do NOT come here if you want to eat crab. All they have is plastic forks, so it was very difficult to eat the crab legs. We ended up biting at the shell, and the hand work meant splattered bright orange sauce all over the place. The small-ish bibs only protected our shirt fronts. Our shorts and sleeves are stained now. If we'd had a metal fork, that would not have happened. We were the only ones in the place at 6p on a Wednesday. We still had to ask the server for seafood crackers and then the check. She never checked on us after we ordered. The crab legs tasted great. We also got one order each of green and black mussels, which were just okay. Juicy crab is one of those restaurants that's a hit or miss and today was a hit. The sauce wasn't too salty like it sometimes is and I received my order literally within 5 minutes of placing my order. Another thing which is sometimes inconsistent is the spice. Rolled up for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was literally 1 car in the entire parking lot. Made me a bit apprehensive but we gave it a shot. This was my first time in. Our server Timya (I think) was great. She was very attentive. I asked and there was only 3 people working the whole restaurant. They had to serve, bartend, bus tables, hostess AND cook. I had to finally try out Juicy Crab after a bunch of people I know raved about how good it was. I will say it was good, but not the absolute best. My friend and I visited on a Monday evening. The restaurant was pretty busy, so I expected to wait a while. It didn't take long for us to be seated and for the waiter to take our orders. Food took maybe 20-30 minutes to come out, but it was hot and seemingly fresh so I had no complaints. The service was a bit slow though. Our waiter repeatedly forgot to bring us water and we didn't even get everything we needed for our seafood feast. No bucket to place shells, no bibs, etc. No big deal, but would've been nice to have. Now the food. My friend and I both ordered the Juicy Cruise special and added a lobster tail. I got the juicy special sauce, extra hot. It was not hot at all, but the flavor was okay. Spotted this place riding around Memphis near hotel. Of course it was looked up on Yelp. On arrival it was a full house so we figured it was a good choice. Placed on wait list about 25 minutes . I ordered the 2 choice with corn & potatoes. Which is confusing make you think you getting 2 but really 2 individual items at different prices. I ordered sausage and no head shrimp with hot mixture which is some tasteful weird greasy oil that rolls down your arms, good thing they give gloves and bibs , yes they serve shrimp with the heads on. I received re-fried wings for lack of a better word. They tasted like they had been battered in baking soda and very dry due to the fact that they had been previously cooked. We never heard of this place until we pulled in and I'm glad we found it today. The staff to the food was great. We ordered the cajun flavor with medium heat per our waitress Rachel's request and WOW, down right the best flavor I've experienced yet at any seafood restaurant. I am going to say this nicely but do not order delivery from this establishment (Memphis) because you will not get a reasonable response from the manager. I received butter & garlic mussels. Some were not open, some were so cooked that there wasn't much there except for garlic and a few were just ok. I also ordered fried oysters which were cooked great! But, I also paid for onion rings that were basically raw. I talked to the manager several times and she was not concerned about the quality of the food or if I would write a review. What an awful experience! My mom and sister decided to eat a very late lunch early dinner 3p. So the restaurant was virtually empty. We placed our order at 3:30p because they write the time on the table. We ordered the normal choices fried fish and shrimp. After 30min of no food we all started getting worried but was assured everything was okay. 45minutes into just waiting still no food. You know overall we had a great time and the food was good food. It felt like we were at the beach and loading up on seafood. My son and I had a free night and as the only seafood lovers in the house we wanted to give this place a try. I saw a similar chain featured on David Chang show on Netflix. We were pleasantly pleased it wasn't fine dining but we had an awesome time. Oh..... where do I start. This was a DISASTER. The place opens at noon. We got there at 11. Everyone of the closest parking spaces near the door were taken by employees at 11. We witnessed the employees getting out of their cars. We killed time in area and came back at noon. The line was out the door. Ironically, the door was locked at noon and still locked when we left. People could only enter if another customer opened the door for them. We told the hostess upon entering and the manager upon leaving that the front door was still locked. Both shrugged and walked away from the door area. There were customers standing outside in the 95+ degree heat waiting for some other guest to open the door. Our waiter looked stoned and disappeared for 10 min at a time multi times. We ordered 2 appetizers- hush puppies (because they aren't included with the meals) and the juicy wings our waiter suggested. He suggested ranch as a dipping sauce, then came back and said they were out of ranch. My hubby ordered us iced tea. They didn't have tea. My hubby ordered the whiting. He paid $1 extra to get onion rings instead of fries. I got catfish and onion rings. We were there 53 minutes before our food came out. My husband's meal came out with French fries instead of the upgrade we ordered. His fish was actually good and meaty, but dripping in grease. I put several napkins under each item we had to blot and absorb some of the grease. The grease soaked through the napkins and through the paper on the table. . My catfish had part of one piece that had meat at least 1/4 inch thick- the rest of the meat was paper thin. My onion rings were stone cold. The fries were limp and soggy from all the grease. We told the server my onion rings were stone cold and he'd brought fries instead of onion rings to my husband. Server took my onion rings and returned with one order of fresh onion rings. They were actually good. I liked the breading. But we were due TWO ORDERS. By this time, the grease had gotten to me and I'd had to go throw up. My husband went to see the manager to discuss his concerns and was treated incredibly rudely. The manager blew him off and made several snide comments before waving him off as if he were dismissing him. The highlight of the visit was the restrooms were clean and well stocked when I went in there to vomit up the greasy meal. It was a $40 lunch. Check your order before you leave if you have a Togo order. I ordered a to go seafood bag of two snow crab clusters, 1 dungeoness cluster, and 1/2 lb of sausage. The snow crab clusters were 13 each and imagine how I felt to arrive home 20 mins away to see one of my snow crab clusters missing smh. The taste was great but I know next time to make sure I see all clusters before exiting. We walked in and were greeted by some very friendly faces. Everyone was really nice. However, there were issues with seating. We had a party of 7 & a baby. I kept asking for a longer booth to seat everyone but they insisted that we sit at separate tables. A super highlight was our waitress, Odjo. She was so attentive and kind. She really catered to the children in our party and made sure they were taken care of first. She also anticipated our orders. If you think ordering take out from Juicy Crab, as opposed to dining in, will spare you from the notoriously poor customer service, I am sorry to inform you that you are incorrect. I ordered four separate meals for my family, for a total of ~$145, and I prepaid a $10 tip (I know, I know... never tip on take out, but I felt bad about all of the understaffing at restaurants in the area.. never again). Anyhow, my husband and father arrive to pick up the food and they are curtly handed a bag of food by wait staff, who says only, "here's your food." No "is there anything else I can get you?","thank you for your business," nothing. They flag down the hostess to find out if there's anything more they need to do for payment, and the hostess informs them that since a credit card payment was made with the online order, they just need to check the bag to make sure all of the food we ordered is there. They check everything the best they can, but honestly, why are customers tasked with doing quality control for multiple meals, two of which were seafood boil bags that were covered in a thick, opaque juice and supposed to contain multiple items? It should be noted that another customer was also trying to quality check her order, at their direction, and was spilling crab boil juice all over the floor. The hostess asked the customer to stop checking the bag, presumably because she did not want to clean the restaurant's own product off of the floor. My father and husband arrive back home and we discover that a crab cluster and a half pound of shrimp are missing from my seafood special--these items total $29.00. I call the restaurant and am unsympathetically told by the hostess and her manager, Angel, that their policy is that once we leave the restaurant, there's nothing they can do to fix wrong orders. Terrible policy. I am disputing the entirety of the charge for the food with my credit card company because you can't expect to be able to cheat customers out of 20% of the total cost of their food and get away with it. Either the local management or the entire franchise created that very short-sighted policy not considering that tasking customers with quality checking their own purchases is not feasible for large orders, so my advice is that even if you ignore all of the warnings on Yelp like I did and you're planning on ordering a large quantity of food, definitely choose another restaurant, there are plenty of crab boil establishments in the area. Which brings me to my next point, you would think that in a city teeming with crab boil joints, good customer service would be a point of emphasis--but for the obvious poor management and poor training. I don't completely blame the workers as they were just doing what they had been told and trained to do; I blame management and ownership. If I could rate the experience 0 stars I would.
